    Weather Or Not

    Blue Colored Vinyl

The people's voice of Venice Beach, Evidence, has returned to
deliver his third solo album, Weather or Not. Since the Grammy
    Award-winning artist's last solo release, Cats & Dogs, he's
delivered some remarkable group projects, including Step
Brothers' Lord Steppington with close ally Alchemist, and
Directors of Photography with seminal supergroup Dilated
Peoples. He's also immersed himself into his studio, producing
beats for a wide range of artists that includes Vince Staples,
Fashawn, Roc Marciano, Madchild, Defari and more. By now, it
should be clear the seasoned veteran has no plans of slowing,
and no hopes of satiating his hunger.

Weather or Not represents the fourth and final chapter in Ev's
Weatherman series before beginning the next saga, but this
chapter will be remembered as the finest. The album features an
all-star lineup of guests and friends, including Slug (Atmosphere),
Rakaa (Dilated Peoples), Alchemist, Styles P, Rapsody,
Jonwayne, Defari, Krondon, Khrysis, Mach Hommy and Catero.
While Evidence holds his own on the boards, he's also tapped a
stellar cast of producers to share duties with, including
Alchemist, DJ Premier, Nottz, DJ Babu, Twiz The Beat Pro, Sam I
Yam and Budgie. As Evidence modestly suggests, quoting a MC
Lyte classic, this new album is even "better than before, as if that
    was possible."

TFCF, the 8th album from Liars, is another unexpected chapter in the saga of the group. The album's reinvention of the Liars paradigm - blurring the lines between electronic and acoustic, between the experimental impulse and the addictive pop sensibility - is evidence that Liars' creative energies remain as healthy as ever.

When the Surfaris' monumental Wipe Out blitzed the charts in the summer of '63, the L.A. combo was rushed back into the studio to cut a full album of foam-flecked classics. Inexplicably that LP was never released, but 40 years later, here are two previously unheard monsters from that Holy Grail of surf sessions: early workouts on Jack The Ripper and I'm A Hog For You--both undeniable evidence that great things are worth waiting for! Circle was a band on fire with creativity. Corea and Holland had just left Miles Davis's band, keen to explore all parameters of new music in an improvised context. Braxton, equally inspired by Stockhausen and Coltrane, brought in new directions from the AACM. Altschul's resumÉ included extensive work with Paul Bley. Together they were, for a while, matchless. Melody Maker: "Paris Concert is evidence that here was one of the most excitingly talented bands of recent years." Recorded 1971.

One of Nina Simone's finest recordings, this 1959 Colpix LP features the unique singer/pianist performing classic versions of 'Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair,' 'The Other Woman,' and 'Wild Is the Wind.' With supportive work from bassist Jimmy Bond and drummer Al 'Tootie' Heath, she also sounds fine on a few instrumentals. 'Summertime' is performed twice, once as a vocal. From the start of her career, Nina Simone carved out her own unique niche, meshing together her classical piano technique with folk singing, civil rights protest lyrics and jazz. All of those elements are in evidence on this highly recommended set. Original artwork.

Their second release springs from 1960's West coast legends like The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Bros., The Charlatans, and Moby Grape, adding elements of X, Neu, The Feelies, Mercury Rev, and Fairport Convention. Cutting through the dense arrangements are powerhouse harmonies. Rachel Cox emerges as the Blue Ridge amalgam of Sandy Denny and Linda Ronstadt while Pat Sullivan's gravelly baritone anchors it all in Johnny Cash and John Doe territory. The sextet's trademark killer songwriting chops are in evidence as Gypsum Strings boasts some beautiful ballads that temper the heaviness of other tracks. Look for them on tour in the spring.

Nigerian police, seeking to put down this independent-minded rascal, tried to plant a joint on Kuti during a gathering at his home. Wise to there plan, he quickly swallowed the joint, but the police then threw him in jail to produce the evidence from his faeces. He escaped charges with some wily plotting, and then produced this song mocking the police for wasting resources on hassling him instead of furthering justice in Nigeria. Opening brass rounds give way to interplay between Fela's narration about the episode and responses from his group of female singers.

Dozens of musicians, dancers, and writers have worked with the group since their inception evidence that they have truly stood the test of time.

Listen To My Song: The Music City Sessions

Born and bred in Berkeley, California, Darondo (given name William Daron Pulliam) first played professionally at the age of 18 in The Witnesses, a blue-eyed soul troupe resident at East Bay teen club the Lucky 13 in the 60s, but it wasnt until the early 70s that the singer-guitarist hit his stride.

When Darondo signed with Ray Dobards Music City label in August of 1973, he brought along a superb stash of self-penned tunes, arranged by musical mentor John Al Tanner, and all cut in two marathon all-night sessions. Even with overdubbed strings, horns and keyboards, the results were righteously funky; Memphis-tinged, for sure, but equal in its conveyance of the urgent street vibe of the East Bay.

The album offers the complete sessions while the special vinyl edition approximates the album that Darondo should have issued in 1974, but Ray Dobards notorious parsimony and hubris meant singer and label parted company far too quickly, leaving only the Music City 45 of Didnt I as evidence of their brief association.

In interviews Darondo often references the lost Music City album. And with good reason: he was at the top of his game, focused, creative, and moving exceptionally fast to use a cherished phrase, cuttin up! Thus, Listen To My Song: The Music City Sessions provides some closure as well as indisputable evidence, should you need it, that Darondo is one of the greats.

And Now!, Booker T. & the MGs third album, marked a major change in the bands lineup with Donald Duck Dunn replacing Lewie Steinberg on bass. The addition of Dunns funkier style is in full evidence on tracks like In the Midnight Hour and Think, the latter song also featuring blistering Telecaster licks from six-string stalwart Steve Cropper. The balance of the album includes original songs , like Top Twenty R&B single My Sweet Potato, and current chart hits, done in that inimitable MG style. With Booker T.s evocative keyboard lines and Al Jacksons propulsive percussion, this was a band of individual virtuosos that became an even greater whole. And nowget ready for the soul jam!

    Sunny Side Up

In the late fifties and early sixties, alto saxophonist Lou Donaldson recorded primarily with his own quartet with pianist Herman Foster or with organ trios. Occasionally, he'd break the mold as he did on this February, 1960 session that was strictly a hard bop affair which includes trumpeter Bill Hardman and pianist Horace Parlan. There's still plenty of funk in evidence as Goose Grease bears out, but Hardman's Politely, Softly As In A Morning Sunrise and The Man I Love find Lou digging deep into his bop roots.

    Horses

Ranked 44/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Before recording the poetic proto-punk 1975 classic Horses, Patti Smith and her band honed the tunes in a triumphant run of shows at New York's iconic venue, CBGB. In the studio, producer John Cale then helped the band to further refine the songs in a process that brilliantly showcases their anarchic spirit and primitive beauty. Smith's background as a rock critic and poet is equally in evidence here as heard on the re-imaginings of such warhorses as Gloria and Land of 1000 Dances, where she boldly adds her own provocative and unflinching lyrics to great effect. Horses' influence on the burgeoning punk-rock movement is undeniable and it remains one of the finest debuts of all-time!

12 Vinyl with playable etched B-side

The second single off Jack White's debut solo album Blunderbuss. Debuted on Saturday Night Live and worlds apart from the first single "Love Interruption," the rock and roll power of " Sixteen Saltines" is all the evidence needed to show that White's solo work will be as varied as it is accomplished. Coupled with White's stinging cover of U2's "Love is Blindness" (from Achtung Baby) and the record metaphorically jumps off turntable.

The 12 single of Jack White's "Sixteen Saltines" comes complete with a playable etching on the b-side (designed by George Ingram), a cover of U2's "Love is Blindness." Truly a sight to behold, the etching depicts Third Man's iconic logo and the grooves of the record play through the image, presenting consumers with the world's first-ever playable etched record (this is an entirely different process than your Split Enz and Styx records from 1980, this visual is all vinyl).

    Signed And Sealed In Blood

Dropkick Murphys come out swinging on their eighth full-length album, Signed and Sealed in Blood. This time around, everything has been cranked up past 10. The guitars are ballsier, the gang vocals are louder, the hooks are catchier, the lyrics stop you in your tracks. The brashest moments of Signed and Sealed in Blood feel like the last 30 seconds of a Stanley Cup hockey game: frenetic, on the edge, dangerous. The softest songs are testaments to the values that pump through the Dropkicks' veins: family, neighborhoods, honor, respect, roots and remembering those who are gone. Every second of Signed and Sealed in Blood is evidence of one thing: Dropkick Murphys aren't just loud and brash, they're at the top of their game as songwriters.

    Diabolus In Musica

If, as some suspect, Beelzebub has a soft spot for hard metal, he'll be delighted with Slayer's raucous return to form on the group's eighth album. With producer Rick Rubin (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, Run-DMC) back at the helm, the thrash-metal pioneers have trimmed the excess flab that weighed them down in the early '90s. Back in evidence is the clinical speed, power, and aggression that once made them metal's most revered extremists. But while their trademark breakneck riffing remains, Slayer reaches beyond the old routines to pack a greater punch. Love to Hate harbors a fat hip-hop groove, In the Name of God toys malevolently with grunge-rock flavors, and Point concludes the 11-song set at just under 110 miles per hour. Diabolus in Musica is an emphatic resurrection--and then some.

If you ever needed proof that altoist Cannonball Adderley deserves to be considered one of the absolute masters of the jazz idiom, look no further than
Things Are Getting Better, which provides ample evidence for his canonical stature. On this date, Adderley teams up with Modern Jazz Quartet cofounder
and vibraphonist extraordinaire Milt Jackson to create a lively, varied set of sonic atmospheres. They are backed by the all-star ensemble of
Wynton Kelly on piano, Percy Heath on bass, and the legendary Art Blakey on drums. The standout track, Sounds for Sid, finds Adderley grooving hard
with an R&B flavor, flashing his virtuosic instrumental chops, and demonstrating in the process why this cut stands as one of the very best representations
of Adderley's early work. Essential listening for all manner of jazz enthusiasts, Things Are Getting Better has something for everyone and deserves a

Includes 3 Bonus Tracks Never Before Available

Take four cellos, mix with a quartet of Finnish classical-music students who possess a note-for-note knowledge of metal giants Metallica, and beat gently. Viola! You have a truly stirring album that provides tangible evidence of the dramatic passages and intricate arrangements that classical music and heavy metal share.

On Enter Sandman and Creeping Death, the exquisite playing of the cellists intensifies the darkness and emotion of Metallica. In the process the strength and versatility of the group's songwriting is given more credence.

Perhaps the most remarkable element of the album is the faithfulness that's shown to the original songs, right down to faultlessly following the vocal melodies. With Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, Apocalyptica have proved that the universal language of good music is unbound by genre. Here is a clever concept brilliantly realized.

    Hidden

These New Puritans are a group on a very precise mission. Hailing from England's Southend-On-Sea, and consisting of Jack Barnett, his twin brother George, Thomas Hein and Sophie Sleigh-Johnson. They first came to prominence with their 2008 debut album, Beat Pyramid. Urgent, pared down, sharp as a stick, it was hailed by the NME as demonstrating a span of ideas and singularity of vision that simply shouldn't happen to 20 year olds. They've created their own imperfect world. And so they did, but this was not a band that was spent after completing their first album but one who were only just beginning to unpack their ideas.

The evidence of that is in the form of their new album, Hidden, a work so extraordinary in its range, ambition and clarity of purpose as to defy overall comparison with anything you have ever heard. These New Puritans have constructed an imaginarium whose contents are of less importance than the way in which it has been assembled, the creative and unprecedented use of contrasting sound sources to create a massive burst of percussion with layers of sample sounding classical and chunks of contemporary polished pop pushed through an analog filter.

Fear In A Handful Of Dust

ELITIST are emerging on top of a new scene growing rapidly in the United States of America. Hailing from Portland, Oregon the quartet has its roots in the Hardcore scene. Yet under the influence of early Death Metal in the vein of MORBID ANGEL and a strong dose of Black Metal their sound shifts to something as fresh as radical. The crusty spirit of Sludgecore transparent in chaotic structures and moments of uncontrol is vomited upon the world with screams of anger and disgust by vocalist Joshua Josh Greene. This is met by the burning hatred of blazing guitars carrying the force of Death and darkness of Black Metal. Loud and passionate ELITIST force the world to listen first with their self titled EP Elitist in the year 2009, which was followed by a split 7 with TRANSIENT (2011). Having shared stages with GAZA, TRAP THEM, TRANSIENT and others the Americans are now ready to unleash the fury of their debut album Fear in a Handful of Dust with the help of Season of Mist.

In ELITIST's own words: This is for those of us who observe and recognize the evidence of evil in faith, hypocrisy of government and the poisons of herd mentality. We'll scream our message of discontent from bloody throats and open wounds. Get ready for a violent punishment and a lesson in destruction. Get ready for ELITIST!

The Fastest Guitar In The Country

Here at last is the album that christened Jimmy Bryant with the distinct moniker of Fastest Guitar in the Country." After a run of success with steel guitarist Speedy West on Capitol Records, Jimmy Bryant signed a solo contract with Imperial Records in the mid '60s. While Bryant's recordings with West established him as a fretboard genius, it was the 1967 release of The Fastest Guitar in the Country that left the disc jockey world wondering if his lighting speed was legitimate. Naysayers were left in awe as they witnessed Bryant's dizzying technique at a DJ convention in Nashville.

Bryant's frenzied fretboard flair is in full effect on his rendition of the classic "Sugar Foot Rag" and "Little Rock Getaway" bearing evidence as to why this is one of the most electrifying instrumental recordings of all time. Never before reissued, this collection of jazz-fueled country pickin' is the ultimate testament of Jimmy Bryant's gift to the guitar world. Sourced from the original Imperial stereo masters, Sundazed is proud to release this ultra-rare album on 180g vinyl.
