Face ValuePhil Collins Take A Look At Me Now Retrospective Reissue Campaign release
Remastered by Nick Davis
Initially released shortly after Collins' 30th birthday, Face Value was propelled to international multi-Platinum status with the help of the smash hit single In The Air Tonight. Other notable tracks on the album include the follow-up singles I Missed Again and If Leaving Me Is Easy, as well as Behind The Lines which was written with Collins' Genesis colleagues Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.
The career of Phil Collins is one that, by any measure, stands among the most creative, prolific, and impressive in the history of modern music. It is a career that really has been many careers - musician, singer, composer, producer, actor - from art rock beginnings to pop stardom, from big band leader to film soundtracks and Broadway. It has been an exceptional musical life spanning four decades, some 100 million solo albums sold (250 million if you count his work with Genesis), an extraordinary string of hits, eight Grammy Awards, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, numerous industry accolades, and, above all, an inestimable influence on countless fellow artists and passionate fans around the globe.1. Michelle Chamuel, the bespectacled songstress who won American's hearts in season 4 of The Voice, is proud to announce the upcoming release of her debut LP, Face The Fire, set to hit via The End Records / ADA on February 10th. Michelle's incredible first single, the album's title track, impacted October 7th. The title track on the album and first single is no exception - showcasing Chamuel's vision and her collaborators' ingenuity. Face the Fire serves as a pulsing mission statement, a vamping call to action that Chamuel relates to her own experience in harnessing musical passion. This track, which like the rest of the album was recorded and produced in Chamuel and Duncan's home studios, is a tapestry of interlocking percussion, surf-punk bass tones, and a rousing call and answer between Chamuel and her choir. When describing the new track, Chamuel says, '"Face the Fire" is about harnessing passion in life, following the fiery drive that pulls at us to accomplish, while also recognizing the danger of being completely consumed by it."1. Face Your FearCURTIS HARDING could best be described as a student
of the gritty, sweat-dripping, hip-swinging blues that
wafted through the air of the American sixties. The offspring
of a mother who sang gospel, and a retired veteran,
he traveled all over the country as a child, singing
alongside his parents, learning that music was in fact the
great communicator, and that the key was not just in how
pretty the notes were, but how if you were honest in what
you were singing, you could stir a person on the inside.
This is what Otis Redding knew. What Sam Cooke, and
Bo Diddley, and B. B. King knew. That somehow there
was a way to take your experiences, your pain and joy,
and give them melody, cause them to live and breathe
and massage the hearts and minds of all those who hear.
That is what CURTIS HARDING does on his new album,
Face Your Fear. He figures out how to tap into the old
soul man of the past without mimicking or bastardizing
it, but instead evoking the spirit of the true Soul music of
yesterday, meshed with the realities of now. With a little
production help from his friends Sam Cohen and Danger
Mouse, CURTIS HARDING has put together a collection
of tunes that NME described as "soul-meets-garage pop
perfection."1. Wednesday Morning Atonement

The New Face Of SmilingThe third album by New Zealand's Bevan Smith under his Signer nom de electronique continues the artful blending of folkish acoustic guitars, glitchy electronic beats, and slightly mournful minor-key indie pop tunes that have been Smith's raison d'etre all along. This time, Smith has slightly rounded the edges of his electronics, adding judicious amounts of reverb and phasing to soften the occasionally harsh sounds; on tracks like Komputa Ga Bukowarera, the results sound rather like My Bloody Valentine's guitar-centric soundscapes updated for the laptop generation.1. The Third Face of Fame (Pure Pleasure)Georgie Fame's swinging, surprisingly credible blend of jazz and American R&B earned him a substantial following in his native U.K., where he scored three number one singles during the '60s and a top ten hit with Bonnie & Clyde in the States. Fame played piano and organ in addition to singing, and was influenced by the likes of Mose Allison, Ray Charles, Booker T and the MG's and Louis Jordan. Early in his career, he also peppered his repertoire with Jamaican ska and bluebeat tunes, helping to popularize that genre in England; during his later years, he was one of the few jazz singers of any stripe to take an interest in the vanishing art of vocalese, and earned much general respect from jazz critics on both sides of the Atlantic.
This set finds him in a suaver, jazzier vein accompanied by a band made up of the cream of jazz musicians on the UK scene at the time. It was at this time, 1967 and 1968, that to much acclaim, he toured as featured vocalist with the Count Basie Orchestra throughout the UK & Europe.

About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Let's Face The Music And DanceThis year Willie Nelson turns 80 years old, a milestone which has not slowed down the American icon in the slightest. Following the success of 2012's Heroes, which debuted at #18 on the album charts (his highest chart debut in over 20 years), Willie returns with another brand new album featuring a selection of songs that are near and dear to him and his band "The Family." Like the man himself, this stunning collection is not easily dened as a set genre or style. They include American standards and country classics, Irving Berlin and Carl Perkins, Django Reinhart as well as Willie-penned originals. Yet the result is a beautiful, cohesive set - songs about love and reection - in Willie's inimitable style. Facing YouFacing You is one of the most important recordings in contemporary jazz for several reasons, aside from being beautifully conceived and executed by pianist Keith Jarrett. It is a hallmark recording of solo piano in any discipline, a signature piece in the early ECM label discography, a distinct departure from mainstream jazz, a breakthrough for Jarrett, and a studio prelude for his most famous solo project to follow, The Köln Concert. Often meditative, richly melodic, inventive, and introspective beyond compare, Jarrett expresses his soul in tailored tones that set standards for not only this kind of jazz, but music that would serve him and his fans in good stead onward.
In this program of all originals, which sound spontaneously improvised with certain pretexts and motifs as springboards, the rhapsodic Ritooria, 4/4 love/spirit song Lalene, and song for family and life My Lady; My Child firmly establish Jarrett's heartfelt and thoughtful approach. Vapallia cements the thematic, seemingly effortless, lighter -- but never tame -- aesthetic. Starbright is an easy-paced two-step tune signifying fully Jarrett's personalized stance. Straddling a more jagged, angular, and free edge, the pianist evokes the influence of Paul Bley during Semblence.
But it is the opening selection, an extended ten-minute opus titled In Front, that truly showcases Jarrett at his playful best -- a timeless, modal, direct, and bright delight. A remarkable effort that reveals more and more with each listen, this recording has stood the test of time, and is unquestionably a Top Three recording in Keith Jarrett's long and storied career.1. To All The Girls...Decades of heartfelt performances and compositions in popular music have long solidified Willie's reputation as one of country's greatest romantics. To All The Girls... continues Nelson's musicial relationships with some of the most talented women in country, pop, and soul.
Among the centerpieces of To All The Girls... is the emotional duet with Dolly Parton, From Here To The Moon and Back, a song Parton wrote for the 2012 motion picture Joyful Noise. Willie also tackles the Bill Withers' classic Grandma's Hands with Mavis Staples, duets with Sheryl Crow on The Great American Songbook selection Far Away Places, and brings a new shade to his self penned classic Always On My Mind with Carrie Underwood.
Willie is also joined by familiar contemporaries including Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Norah Jones and Rosanne Cash. To All The Girls... reunites Willie with producer Buddy Cannon, who worked with Willie on his most recent successful releases, Heroes and Let's Face The Music And Dance.
Having turned 80 years old in April, Willie Nelson has no intentions of riding off into the sunset. Since signing to Legacy Recordings, Nelson has been steadily recording an releasing albums with the same rough-and-ready spirit of his timeless recordsing for RCA and Columbia Records. Heroes was praised by Uncut for being as spirited as it is poignant. Of 2013's Let's Face The Music And Dance, Paste cheered for his strongest and most engaged performances in a decade.LP 1

Welcome To SuccessWhat is success? And what's left after the party's over? Backed by the lush, vivid beats of Canadian producer Factor, Bay Area emcee Kirby Dominant ponders the perils of self-actualization on their third LP together as Paranoid Castle. Are the trappings of success smoke screens for inner turmoil or are they success itself? Do the drugs and women provide joy or fleeting escape? How long can one keep clawing out at temporary pleasures in the wake of unresolved anguish? Kirby's narratives reflect upon these and a host of other grown man queries. And if the answers don't come, what does come, is hope. "If the sun comes back to town, I want to be around," Kirby sings on the catchy, ebullient hook to "Fear of Missing Out." He maintains his sense of humor in the face of being broke on "Laugh Out Loud," drops a hilarious one-liner here and there on "Cemetery," and ands traces of positivity through gritted teeth. Welcome To Success, the culmination of a 13-year working relationship, showcases two seasoned vets playing on each other's strengths and making a grand artistic statement. Kirby continues to sharpen his delivery and singing chops with each release, often rapping and crooning on the same track and shifting moods between verse and chorus. Incorporating live instrumentation and samples, Factor's dynamic beats accentuate the emcee's ruminations while making statements of their own. Welcome To Success is grown man music, unafraid to ask painful questions and wise enough to make you laugh if you don't like the answers.1. Welcome To Success

Tied To A StarJ Mascis' Tied to a Star is the follow up to his acclaimed Sub Pop debut
Several Shades of Why. The album, led by the songs "Every Morning"
and "Wide Awake," was recorded and produced by Mascis and mixed
by John Agnello at Bisquiteen in Amherst, MA.
It makes perfect sense that I was asked to write a bio for J Mascis.
Let's face it, he and I have a long history. It all started the first time I
saw him live. It was in New York City. I don't remember when or where,
but I think he was walking around. I was probably walking around, too.
The second time was also in New York, at a Mexican restaurant in the
East Village (the one that takes credit cards now, but didn't used to).
Years later I actually met him at the SXSW festival though a friend who
works at Sub Pop. I guess that meeting went well, because when that
friend from Sub Pop got married, she sat me at the same table as J.
Sounds unbelievable? I suggest you look at the picture below. Now keep
staring at that picture until... J's new acoustic
album Tied to a Star comes out on Sub Pop Records. It features
appearances by Ken Maiuri (Young@Heart Chorus), Pall Jenkins (Black
Heart Procession), Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion) and Chan Marshall
(Cat Power). Had I been in the area, I'm sure I would've been asked to
play on it, too.

Time passes, the world changes, but some things remain constant and unassailable. Heavy metal has endured for more than four decades because its spirit is eternal, and few bands embody the intensity, integrity and lofty artistic ambitions of the genre with more dazzling aplomb than Arch Enemy. Formed in Sweden in the mid-90s by former Carcass/Carnage guitarist Michael Amott, this most explosive and proficient of modern metal bands have spent the last 20 years propagating an unerring creed of technical excellence, songwriting genius and thunderous, irresistible live performance, accruing a huge global fan base along the way. And now, in 2017, Arch Enemy are ready to rise again and climb ever further up the ladder toward pure metal supremacy.
Always focused but impervious to other's rules and expectations, Arch Enemy evolved once more in 2015 following the departure of Angela Gossow (now the band's manager). Replacing one of the most iconic vocalists of the modern age was never going to be easy, but in the shape of former The Agonist frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz, Arch Enemy found the perfect candidate. Unveiled on the ferocious, anthem-laden triumph of 2014's War Eternal, Alissa's powerful identity and extraordinary vocal talents proved a natural and instantly welcomed fit. Further extensive touring cemented the new line-up's thrilling efficacy, before one final line-up change - the arrival of legendary guitarist Jeff Loomis, formerly of Nevermore - completed the musical puzzle that Amott had been tinkering with for the best part of 20 years.
Recorded in 2017, the tenth Arch Enemy album will be unleashed later in 2017 and promises to be the ultimate statement of heavy metal supremacy from a band that are still growing in stature as the years fall away. Will To Power will be the first album the band have recorded with their current line-up and as Michael Amott explains, diehard fans will be both thrilled to hear their favourite band on top form and somewhat surprised by their latest creative explorations.
"The goal is always to raise the bar yet again and create an epic masterpiece!" he laughs. "I think the album has a great balance between traditional Arch Enemy and some new influences that come through here and there. The most surprising thing on this album is that we've written our first ever ballad. It's still a very metal song, but there's no way around the fact that it is a ballad and that might be quite controversial for a band like us, I guess. I'm excited to hear what our fans will think of that one, but I do feel that we can afford to spread our wings a bit on our tenth studio album!"
Once Will To Power hits the streets, Arch Enemy will do what they do best, hitting the road and taking their latest batch of heroic metal anthems to the people. Achieving longevity is the toughest challenge that faces any band, but Arch Enemy have long since established themselves as a permanent fixture on the global metal scene and as standard bearers for upholding and celebrating of the heavy metal code. Right now, in 2017, no other band embodies the spirit of the genre with such flair and euphoric zeal. Long may their steel spirit prevail.
"It's always been about creating the best songs we can make and whatever success we've had is a direct result of the music speaking to people and our relentless worldwide touring," Michael grins. "We are happy with the fact that the band has had growth spurt these last couple of years and it's exciting to put on a bigger and more complete live show for our fans. We obviously hope our fans will enjoy Will To Power and we're looking forward to getting back out there and performing live again, with a whole bunch of killer new tunes up our sleeve!"1. Buttons: From Champaign to ChicagoAt the launch of the Numero label near-on a decade ago, they already had an unquenchable thirst for power pop, glam, and regional bar rock. This affliction led to the double disc Yellow Pills: Prefill compilation, which was intended as the first entry in a series that, they regret to report, got stalled out in committee.
Seven years after its release, YP became the first Numero effort to be put to sleep. Emails began trickling in about the missing catalog number: Would YP ever be issued on vinyl? Would there ever be a second volume? Was The Toms track "Sun" actually recorded in the '80s? Hoping to satiate the masses, the Numero brain trust has conceived Buttons as their brand-spanking-new power pop umbrella, and is pleased to announce the first two titles in the series: Buttons: Starter Kit and Buttons: From Champaign To Chicago.
An homage to the prairie state Numero calls home, From Champaign To Chicago is a 19-track survey of Illinois' cheapest thrills. Reaching back to 1973 and Peoria outliers the Jets and ending in 1987 with Romeoville's Julian Leal and his Dick Clark approved "Get Away," From Champaign to Chicago connects, via map, pins, and string, the various scenes that pockmarked the face of the Land of Lincoln!1. The groundbreaking 2015 PlayStation® 4 game Everybody's Gone to the Rapture tells the story of the inhabitants of a remote English valley who are caught up in world-shattering events beyond their control or understanding. Made by The Chinese Room - the studio responsible for the hauntingly beautiful Dear Esther - this tale of how people respond in the face of grave adversity is a non-linear, open-world experience that pushes innovative interactive storytelling to the next level. This story begins with the end of the world. The game has already won GameSpot's Best of E3 and was nominated for Best in Show and Best PS4 game by IGN.com.
The soundtrack features the music of BAFTA-nominated composer Jessica Curry, who is also joint Studio Head of the developer The Chinese Room. The music was recorded at the famed AIR Studios in London and features solo vocal performances by renowned Welsh soprano Elin Manahan Thomas, ethereal choir, and a tragically beautiful orchestral accompaniment.LP 1

Take Me To The Disco
Meg Myers has announced her new album 'Take Me To The Disco,' a relentless and brutally honest record, and the raw result of Meg's own personal journey. As on her breakout 2015 debut album 'Sorry,' Meg's tremendously powerful voice (Rolling Stone) and seething...riffs (The New York Times) are front and center, but this time around, she explores love, loneliness and trauma with unflinching candor, facing her inner green-eyed monster head-on and attacking each bar with a primal ferocity.
To accompany the announcement, Meg has released lead single Numb, a haunting look at the pressures of the music business and life in general. 'Feeling numb' relates to the many pressures of life and our reactions to this weight, says Meg. When this burden becomes too much and we can no longer run...we essentially numb out. Billboard said of the song, piano and electronics gnaw at the alt-rock arrangement, declaring, the cathartic 'Numb' leaves you with a paradoxically life-affirming feeling, a weapon against the modern-day frustrations inherent in life and music.
Meg co-wrote most of the songs on the album with her producer and collaborator Christian Leggy Langdon, and enlisted the help of Victor Indrizzo, who has played with Depeche Mode, to play drums on the record. Meg also used a live string section for the first time - The Section Quartet appears on six songs on the album.
Listening back to some of these songs made me realize what I was really writing about...what was underneath it all, says Meg. On the surface, I thought I was writing about love loss but I've learned it goes much deeper than that. It's going back to the child in me that needed to be healed. I've always written from a true place, but in getting to know myself better, I'm now writing from an even deeper level of honesty.
Meg, who grew up in a Jehovah's Witness household, moved to Los Angeles when she was 19 where she recorded her debut album 'Sorry' on Atlantic Records. That album spawned Top 15 and Top 20 alternative radio hits, Desire and Sorry, respectively, with MTV calling Desire the female answer to Nine Inch Nails' Closer. Meg's striking and visceral music videos have skyrocketed to upwards of 9 million YouTube views, and her Spotify plays rank in the tens of millions. She's graced the pages of every major publication from Rolling Stone to Cosmopolitan, and has brought her hypnotizing performances to Conan and Last Call with Carson Daly, in addition to major tours with the Pixies, Alt-J, and Royal Blood and notable festival slots including Coachella, Lollapalooza and Governors Ball.
On Numb, Meg's mysteriously shape-shifting (Entertainment Weekly) vocal acrobatics are in full force as she alternates between seductive verses and a no-holds-barred chorus. When I first wrote 'Numb,' explains Meg, it was about my experience with a major record label. But as I dug deeper, I found that it goes back to some early childhood stuff and how shutting down, or escaping, felt like the safer thing to do.
Other album highlights include the dreamy, atmospheric title track and the driving Tourniquet, an eerie yet poignant song that details the trials of being trapped in an unhealthy relationship. The thunderous rocker Jealous Sea is a walk on the darker side, says Meg, but it also shows the beauty in the darkness. With each song on 'Take Me To The Disco,' Meg fearlessly bares her soul with an intensity only she can convey.1. Take Me To The Disco

Send Them All To HellThe German PANZER, the Teutonic Heavy Metal trio, is comprised of yet three undisputed genre legends: Vocalist & bass-player Schmier, best known as frontman of DESTRUCTION and HEADHUNTER, guitarist Herman Frank (ACCEPT, VICTORY) as well as drummer Stefan Schwarzmann (ACCEPT).
The initial idea was born when drummer Stefan Schwarzmann, who has relocated to Switzerland about seven years ago, had a chat with the owner of renowned Swiss club Z7 in Pratteln. The two tried to figure out a way to fill the empty space within touring and recording, the venue has been facing with its most frequently playing bands. To make a long story short: Nobert Mandel (owner of Z7) had the idea of a trio, with both Stefan and Herman in it. The only vacancy for bass and vocals wouldn't stay open for long, as Stefan had the phone number and mail address of DESTRUCTION's Schmier right at hand - and so "The German Panzer" was born!
Commented vocalist & bass-player Schmier: "When Stefan Schwarzmann, drummer of ACCEPT and an old friend came to me with the idea of putting a band together, I first thought he tried to fool me hahaha! But the idea sounded amazing from the beginning and after the first meeting with Herman Frank, the German guitar legend, that everybody knows from his work with ACCEPT and VICTORY and Stefan, we realized really fast, that this team could really kick some serious ass together. And Instead of talking too long about it, we started writing songs right away and within some weeks had half of the album recorded and it sounded wicked! We don t wanna re-invent the metal-wheel. We play the music we love, easy as that and it's great fun cause we all dig this shit since we are teenagers!
Naming a band after fierce war machinery might seem a bit off for some, but if you take a look at the lyrics, this is picture perfect. The lyrics provoke, criticize and are part of the art. "My lyrics criticize... I don t pray," adds Schmier.
And as difficult as the search for a name was at first, with all members being German die-hards and organizers of the Teutonic scene, The German PANZER seemed to be the name everybody remembers right away.
As for the album title, »Send Them All To Hell« was almost mandatory, as these are the first words to be heard on the record, with Schmier whispering them into the mic. With the exception of one track that feature all three members, all songs are written entirely by Herman Frank and Schmier.
If you like it heavy, more melodic or if you dig Speed Metal, then The German PANZER will hit right on - Or to say it with Herman Frank: "No left - no right! Just straight forward like a Panzer!1. Death knell
