Songbird is a compilation album of songs by the late American singer Eva Cassidy, released in 1998, two years after her death in 1996.

Five tracks (Wade in the Water, Wayfaring Stranger, Songbird, Time is a Healer and I Know You by Heart) are from Cassidy's album, Eva by Heart. Four tracks (Fields Of Gold, Autumn Leaves, People Get Ready and Oh Had I a Golden Thread) are from her album, Live at Blues Alley. The remaining track, Over the Rainbow, is from the album The Other Side. The compilation album was certified Gold by the CRIA (50,000 units) in 2003. It was certified Gold by the RIAA in 2001 and Platinum in 2008 for shipments in excess of one million copies.

    Silent Light

Miller's ECM debut has an international feel: the Latin influence of his heritage strong in such pieces as "Baden", an early 20th-century Parisian air on "Le Pont" and the evocation of Celtic tunes on "Valium". Miller has long been known as Sting's right-hand man on guitar and a hushed instrumental take on "Fields of Gold" appears here. Miller has also worked with the likes of The Chieftains, Plácido Domingo and Paul Simon who points out Miller's "beautiful touch" in the album's liner note.

    Black Sun (Discontinued)

Gold Fields' debut album Black Sun is armed with pop hooks, tribal beats, danceable rhythms, and plenty of emotion. After releasing their debut EP in the spring of 2012, the band settled down to record their first LP - a task that would take the band on a journey they never expected. Following recording sessions with Mickey Petralia (Flight of the Conchords, Ladytron, Peaches) and manager Scott Horscroft (The Presets, Sleepy Jackson, Silverchair), the band's record came together after several weeks of recording while hold up in singer Mark Fuller's family garage. The result of relentless work and playful experimentation is Black Sun.

Hitting listeners with a power-packed punch from its first note, Black Sun opens with the infectious Meet My Friends, a bass and percussion-driven track with haunting vocals echoing in the background. Single Dark Again is a pop gem flecked with driving guitars and bright synths, all building to a heavy-hitting chorus that's sure to make you move.

    I'm Glad I'm Not Me

Critically acclaimed indie rockers Born Cages will release their debut studio album, I'm Glad I'm Not Me, via Washington Square/Razor & Tie.

I'm Glad I'm Not Me was recorded at Mission Sound (Metric, Arctic Monkeys, Matt & Kim) in Brooklyn, NY and was produced by Jon Kaplan (Cage The Elephant, Walk The Moon) and co-produced by Born Cages' lead singer Vlad Holiday. On the album, Holiday, bassist/keyboardist Matt Maroulakos and drummer Dave Tantao conjure festival-ready, truly modernist modern rock that is every bit as grand as its song titles would predict: "Bigger Than Me." "I Just Want The Truth, Baby." "Don't Look Back." "Finding Beauty in a Broken World."

I'm Glad I'm Not Me touches on rock, electronic, dance, alternative and everything in between, reaching listeners thought to be quarantined from each other. It's a record celebrating togetherness in fractious times, music that finds commonalities rather than chasms. Throughout, Born Cages play with an urgency that posits their music as something essential. I'm Glad I'm Not Me embraces its punchy hooks, economic arranging and distinct kind of New York City disillusionment; it's the despondency of being told your mere existence in the city is a sign of having "made it" and still feeling alone amongst the millions.

The album is the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2013 EP release, The Sidelines EP. Vice Noisey describes the band's music as a "blend of 80s-influenced synth/guitar work and modern pop-rock sounds," and Blackbook raved, "More than a decade after the riff-heavy heyday of The Strokes, The Vines, The White Stripes, The Hives, and many other bands that put the word "the" before a plural noun, we may be ready for another bout of ripping revivalism Born Cages, certainly makes that argument." The Born Cages Daytrotter Session made the Top 50 of 2014 list.

Lead singer and guitarist Vlad Holiday formed Born Cages in 2011 and the group dove head-first into New York City's eclectic indie rock movement. He is joined by Matt Maroulakos on bass/keyboards and Dave Tantao on drums. The band has shared bills with a bevy of acts such as Hockey, Magic Man, X Ambassadors, Gold Fields, Royal Teeth, Said The Whale, Donald Cumming (of The Virgins), Public Access TV, JD Samson (of Le Tigre) and Har Mar Superstar. They were even handpicked by Guns N' Roses to be the sole support band on two sold out GN'R club shows.

Actual Cover With Joey Bada$$ Leaning Out Of Car Is Concealed By Special Outer American Flag Sleeve

Joey Bada$$ has been teasing the title of his sophomore album for a few months now, having previously only given fans an acronym: AABA. The Brooklyn-born rapper took to Twitter to reveal the full title, ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$.

A short, 30-second teaser for the album shows Joey walking through a dusty desert dragging a baseball bat, as images of a burning cross and children playing in a field flash across the screen. As the faint final strands of the Star Spangled Banner echo through the desert, Joey winds up and uses the bat to smash a glass plate painted with the American flag, before the album title and release date are revealed.

The title recalls both Ice Cube's classic 1990 solo debut AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted and the debut mixtape from Joey's friend, close collaborator and Pro Era co-founder Capital Steez, who released the project AmeriKKKan Korruption in 2012 before his untimely death the night before Christmas Eve that year.

AABA will be Joey's second official album, following the release of his debut LP B4.Da.$$. He's been gearing up for the release of the album with the singles Land of the Free, an excellent politically- and socially-charged track that takes aim at Donald Trump (among others), and the 2016 cut Devastated, which gave Joey his first gold plaque.

    Into

Lionel Williams leaves behind the murkier lo-fi production of his 2012 debut full-length, Lemniscate, for the somnambulant pop of Into. The new album-out July 24th on Chaz Bundick's (Toro Y Moi, Les Sins) Company Records-moves Lionel's Vinyl Williams alias into a more vivid, multi-colored dream world. Unlike the dramatic film scores of his grandfather (famed composer and conductor John Williams), this 25-year-old Los Angeles-based musician's songs are far more introspective, effortlessly blending ambient, electronic, Krautrock, psychedelia and shoegaze influences into a uniquely visceral listening experience that often mirrors the surrealism of his own collage-based visual artwork.

Like staring at the intricate geometry of a nautilus shell through a rippling aqua lens, Into's detailed arrangements shimmer across the stereo field with Williams' breathy, yearning melodies bathed in warm reverb. The gentle, rhythmic percolation of breezy album opener "Gold Lodge" imagines CAN at their most ethereal, as if vying for a release on 4AD Records during the label's halcyon days. Similarly, Cocteau Twins-esque guitars ring above the pulsing kosmische atmosphere of "Hall of Records" and then later, the 10-plus-minute "Xol Rumi" takes a detour across the Autobahn using Neu!'s motorik precision. Elsewhere, the celestial "Greatest Lives" shuffles through a thick, gooey cloud of synths, while instrumental "The Tears of an Inanimate Object" pays tribute to the spiritually minded explorations of Alice Coltrane and Dorothy Ashby, with astral harp strums guiding the light electronic accompaniment.

From the mysterious, nocturnal drive of first single "World Soul" to the gauzy, space-age funk of "Allaz," Vinyl Williams nicely blurs the line between melodicism and experimentation, his impressionistic song-craft being as inviting as it is beguiling. In this modern era of shuffled playlists and musically short attention spans, Into is that rare album created to be listened to uninterrupted from beginning to end, and one that is sure to reveal itself again and again after each successive play.

    Prestige Series Blue Cartridge

The Prestige (and upscale Reference) cartridges from Grado are the first released since the elder Grado's retirement, but they mark an evolution, not dramatic change, of the classic Grado style. There are three basic levels in the Prestige lineup: Black/Green, Blue/Red, and Silver/Gold. In each of these pairings, the latter model is the same as the former, but is able to meet more astringent test specifications. The Green, for instance, is taken from the top 15% of the Black models production.

The newly redesigned Blue1 and Red1 have had their coil design reconfigured, and the effective moving mass of their generating system has been reduced by 17%. The Blue1 and Red1 models use a four piece OTL cantilever technology, standard oxygen free wire in the coils and Grado's specially designed elliptical diamond mounted on a brass bushing. The Red1 model is selected from the Blue1 production run and meets higher test specifications. Approximately 10% of the production run will meet these standards and become Red1 models.

All Grado Prestige cartridges have a fixed magnet and coils that generate a flux field axial pivot. A small generator disc is attached to the back end of the cantilever and moves within the lines of flux of the four coils and magnet generating a signal in response to stylus movement. The user-replaceable, elliptical diamond stylus is attached to the cantilever and moves within the four separate magnetic gaps which comprise what Grado calls a "flux-bridger" generator system. The generating element creates a flux increase in one gap while decreasing it in another to reduce distortion. According to Grado's literature, this design requires fewer coil turns, resulting in lower cartridge mass and electrical inductance. The cartridge is said to be insensitive to tonearm cable capacitance. The Grado cartridges are hand-built in the U.S.,and each cartridge is tested against Grado's standard for performance.

How did a Wisconsin chair company, producing records on the cheap and run by men with little knowledge of their audience or the music business, build one of the greatest musical rosters ever assembled under one roof? The answer lies in 'The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records 1917-1932,' an epic, two-volume omnibus of art, words and music housed in a limited-edition, hand-sculpted cabinet-of-wonder, to be jointly released by Jack White's Third Man Records and John Fahey's Revenant Records.

'Volume One,' which covers the label's improbable rise from 1917-1927, will be released exclusively through Third Man on October 29, and worldwide on November 19. The project is co-produced by leading Paramount authority Alex van der Tuuk, and 'Volume 2' will be released in November 2014.

Paramount Records was founded on a modest proposition: produce records as cheaply as possible, recording whatever talent was available. Over its lifetime, the label would become a "race records" powerhouse, its sound and fortunes directly linked to the Great Migration.

By the time Paramount ceased operations in 1932, it had compiled a dizzying array of performers still unrivaled to this day, spanning early jazz titans (Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller), blues masters (Charley Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Son House, Skip James), American divas (Ma Rainey, Alberta Hunter, Ethel Waters), gospel (Norfolk Jubilee Quartette), vaudeville (Papa Charlie Jackson), and the indefinable "other" (Geeshie Wiley, Elvie Thomas). Paramount would also directly influence the style of Robert Crumb and countless other 20th century artists and illustrators, through a series of hand-drawn ads promoting its releases in the pages of the Chicago Defender.

The 'Rise and Fall' wonder-cabinet gives equal status to page-turning narrative and new scholarship; original and newly created graphic art; industrial design; and compelling analog and digital music experiences.

6 LPs feature 87 tracks from the collection.

USB Drive contains 800 digital tracks by 172 artists across the Paramount family of labels, including the earliest recordings of:
King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Blind Blake, Fats Waller, Ma Rainey, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Fletcher Henderson, Alberta Hunter, Papa Charlie Jackson, Ethel Waters, Coleman Hawkins, Johnny and Baby Dodds, Bo Weavil Jackson, Jimmy O'Bryant, Buddy Boy Hawkins, Tiny Parham, Jimmy Blythe, and Jaybird Coleman.

AC Power Can Make or Break Your System

The audio you hear from your home entertainment system is essentially the incoming electricity itself, and the typically violent storms riding the AC line and its ground is very detrimental to the performance of your components. Highly resolving audio and video systems can retrieve incredible amounts of detail from your favorite recordings. Unfortunately, they can also reveal problems elsewhere in the power chain-especially when it comes to noise flowing through your valuable components from your AC power mains. The Furutech Flux-50 filter is, in every sense of the word, a top-of-the-line high-performance filter that was designed to eliminate all radiated AC noise from high-quality audio and video systems.

What's innovative about the Furutech Flux-50 is that it eliminates AC noise without affecting any of the highest frequencies. That means the Flux-50 won't rob music of the air, dynamic contrasts and 3-D qualities that are reinforced by frequencies normally thought to be outside of the normal range of human hearing 100 kHz, 500 kHz and beyond.

The Furutech Flux-50 filter contains many of the innovative features found in our other power filters such as:

    • 24K gold-plated Alpha non-magnetic connectors and conductors that protect against radiated noise

    • RoHS compliant flexible PVC sheath for improved isolation from vibration

    • High-grade PE insulation that helps to reduce capacitance

    • Patented Floating Field Damper which acts as a very effective earth/ground jumper system

The Flux-50 takes these technologies a step further by combining Furutech's most advanced Piezo Ceramic bodies with rhodium-plated Alpha pure copper conductors using premium FI-50R connectors. In addition, all metallic parts are treated with the Furutech Alpha Process-a super cryogenic and demagnetizing treatment. All of this adds up to unequaled performance when it comes to reducing and eliminating radiated AC noise from high-quality audio and video systems.

It's simple-the finest systems can be extraordinarily revealing when it comes to your recordings, your AC power mains and even your local power grid. The Flux-50 removes all that high-frequency trash noise and lets the music flow effortlessly.

One of the most talented acts in Phil Spector's stellar recording stable, Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans featured the great Darlene Love, one of Spector's favorite vocal muses; Fanita James, who also sang alongside Love in the ubiquitous studio vocal group the Blossoms; and Bob B. Soxx himself, aka renowned singer Bobby Sheen, a legend in West Coast R&B circles. The trio's uncanny abilities provided Spector with an ideal vehicle to perfect his musical formula, making the trio's 1963 album Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah one of the most enchanting items in the Philles label catalog.

Recorded in the hallowed environs of L.A.'s Gold Star Studios with backup from the legendary Wrecking Crew, Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah finds the trio cutting loose on a high-energy set that includes the Disney-inspired title hit and the infectious Why Do Lovers Break Each Other's Heart? Love's powerful vocals are also featured on "My Heart Beat a Little Faster and the Jackie DeShannon-penned Jimmy Baby, while the ever-soulful Sheen is showcased on such tunes as Dear (Here Comes My Baby) and Everything's Gonna Be All Right. Meanwhile, a left-field reading of Woody Guthrie's This Land Is Your Land and the album-closing instrumental Dr. Kaplan's Office demonstrate Spector's quirkier side.

    Glow

If all music tells a story, then Royal Teeth's joyous, inspired songs spin an exuberant tale of possibility, each note conveying the youthful excitement of venturing out into the great wide world. The songs on the band's debut album, Glow, were penned around the idea of exploration and spirited adventures into the unknown, and its 12 tracks lay out a kaleidoscopic narrative of discovery.

The group came together in 2010 with Gary, Josh W, Poe, Josh H and Stevie, friends from all across Louisiana who'd gravitated to one another during their early days playing out in New Orleans. It was with the discovery of Nora, the last piece of the puzzle, that the band began to truly hone in on what would become their sound. The aim was to have fun, with no master plan for the music at the outset. As they began to experiment, it became clear that the synthesizers they'd been playing around with elevated their effusive indie pop songs and best conveyed the buoyancy and levity of being young and anxious for the world to open up for you.

"The album is really about finding yourself," said Nora who, as the visual artist in the group, conveys that cheerful enthusiasm both through the music and the band's striking artwork and graphics.

"We started playing more folk-driven stuff," Gary says. "But once we added the electronic sounds, it changed everything. The music evolved from there and as it did, our vision for the songs became clear."

The group's 5-song debut, Act Naturally, was recorded in Charleston, S.C. in 2011 and was their first foray into the studio. EP in hand, the band set out to tour outside Louisiana, eventually going all-in, quitting their jobs in May of 2012 and hitting the road. These shows, which included CMJ and SXSW and tours with bands as diverse as Fitz and the Tantrums, 2 Skinnee J's and Gold Fields, had a tremendous impact in forming the debut album, Glow.

"We take a lot of pride in our live show," Gary says. "We put everything into it and that's where we make the strongest connections with people. I think when it came to making the record, knew we wanted it to be more raw and capture that live energy. We had been on the road, testing out these new songs, figuring out what's working and what's not working. When you're trying out new songs every night for people that don't know you it plays a big role in shaping the band's vision and our confidence in what makes our music special. That played a huge factor into what we songs we knew we had to put on the record.

The songs on the album, including the single "Wild," were penned over a two year span, some emerging in a burst of activity and inspiration just before the band headed into the studio in Toronto with producer Gavin Brown in February 2013. Nearly 30 song ideas were eventually culled down to an album's worth of material, and the studio time was focused and quick, concluding in only a few weeks. The idea was to harness the band's positive energy into the recordings, ensuring that the vigor the musicians radiate onstage was showcased on the tracks.

"Once we were in the studio, it was a real common energy driving what we wanted," Gary says. "It really does show in the music. Whether the song's a little slower or a little darker, I think there's a common thread in all of them - capturing a moment. I think the music really represents that."

The resulting album is a shimmering collection of indie pop numbers that revel in that idea of being young and wild. The songs vary in tone and aesthetic, but it all ties back to that overarching theme. "Vagabonds," is a soaring, hook-laden tale of escapism, while the prancing "Hold Me" captures that moment before the end of the world. "Wild," the band's current single, contrasts with "We Can Glow," a moody anthem revealing the flipside of the band's live-in-the-now sensibility.

Royal Teeth, who have been featured on Last Call with Carson Daly and seen several songs placed in various TV spots, are really only embarking on their adventure now, with the release of this debut album. Joining forces with the team at Dangerbird Records has enabled them to more fully realize their vision of touring extensively and broadening their own inspired journey. The first chapters of that story are heard in the music, a soundtrack for exploration and discovery, of bursting into a world teeming with possibilities.

"We've learned so much from being on the road," Gary says. "And I think there's so much more to learn. We want to deliver every night, no matter what. We're really just excited for the album to finally come out. We're very excited to offer more than five songs to all of our fans and see where we can go from here."

Treble That Is Literally, Smooth As Silk

Mid-Range And Bass That Leaves The Listener In Awe

The Open Cell Structure Is Unmatched For Sound Absorption

As Close To "No Post" As It Gets

The LS3.5 is iFi's 3.0 reboot of the classic BBS LS3/5A which is still now, half a century after its launch still in high demand and revered. iFi has taken the design back to its basic underpinnings and then re-engineered the LS3.5 ground-up for the 21st century. From designing the drivers (not OEM) to the cabinet terminals, where we were dissatisfied, we manufactured our own. This is the iFi level of attention to detail.

The Retro LS3.5 is in many ways a synthesis of the best of the BBC LS3/5A and dash of the Le Petite. We eliminated their respective drawbacks using the very latest technological advancements available. So think of the iFi LS3/5A as BBC LS3/5a+Le Petite with an injection of factor X.

iFi's brand-new tweeter that is smooth as silk, literally

Silk is smooth, so why not make a tweeter from the ground-up using it at the core? The iFi 28mm tweeter is horn-loaded and uses a neodymium magnet. It is very much a 21st century product - that is, at the advanced edge of tweeter technology. The silk dome combines the lack of resonances at the top of the operating range (as found on metal domes) with excellent dynamics in band. The small neodymium magnet structure shifts cavity resonances outside the audible range. Being horn-loaded, it matches perfectly with the wideband driver to create a mammoth sound field.

The tweeter is used only at the very top end of the audible range; the whole range from 59Hz - 8kHz covering the fundamentals of all instruments except those with very low bass notes and all the formants (the tone forming harmonics of instruments) is covered by the wideband driver, without any electrical or mechanical crossover.

This avoids any damage to the phase/impulse response for this critical range. The simple arrangement of the crossover for the tweeter (first order at appx. 10kHz acoustic crossover) and the tweeters waveguide, which insets it for time-alignment with the wideband driver further preserves phase/impulse response.

    Ground-up paper cone wideband driver

Natural material for a natural sound. The paper cone 115mm wideband driver by iFi performs more akin to a full-range driver.

In many ways the wideband driver is very traditional, both magnet and basket. Stamped steel baskets can dissipate energy much faster than cast ones. It harks back to the "golden era" of driver design in the 1970's. Modern finite element modeling and modern materials have improved the driver in many areas (especially efficiency and bandwidth) over classics like the KEF B-110 which was originally used in the LS3/5A.

The wideband driver rolls off after 8kHz. And it reaches down to 59Hz (with correct placement).

    Time-Aligned to perfection

The iFi LS3.5 has a coherency that is based upon the simple fact from the outset, the tweeter and driver are perfectly time-aligned. Simply put, this means if one was looking at a cross-section of the LS3.5, the acoustic centre of the tweeter and the wideband driver as precisely vertically-aligned. This means sound waves from both units arrive at ear of the listener at the same time (as opposed to at different times). This is an oft overlooked weakness of many speakers, but not in the iFi LS3.5.

Multi-chamber Voigt design with tuned enclosure

There are two-chambers in one. The enclosure is maybe best considered a variant of multiple reflex, also, by breaking up the larger volume into two smaller different volume/size sections resonance frequencies are spread and tuned to higher frequencies, where the Amino-plastic open cell foam we use for damping has optimal absorption.

The Acoustic Active Tuning with minimal damping drawn from the musical instrument manufacturing sector further assists with dissipating resonance frequencies higher - just think of the LS3.5 as a musical instrument.

This is why the LS3.5 is a speaker that makes music.

    Bamboo is best

Bamboo is a grass - hence it is a sustainable material and exceptionally environmentally friendly. It is 2x lighter and 3x stronger than wood. The aforementioned Voigt design coupled with the "stiff as steel" bamboo enclosure and the extra reinforcement by the division plus the acoustic tuning - all combined, makes for a remarkably low sonic signature of the box. This is critical as the use of the single paper driver needed for the wide bandwidth cannot be counted upon to block resonances from inside the box passing through the way a heavy and slower plastic cone is able to.

Hence for environmental and sonic reasons, it made perfect sense to use it as a speaker cabinet material. The LS3.5 is 5x more costly to manufacture than standard MDF cabinets. A simple knuckle tap shows its complete lack of colouration - which is easily audible from the first note.

    Advanced Amino-plastic open cell foam

For the very minimal internal damping duties, we scoured the world for the most advanced acoustic materials and settled on the Advanced Amino-plastic open cell foam material. The open-cell surface guarantees that sound waves are not reflected as an echo but can penetrate the cell structure unhindered. The sound energy is reduced in the cell structure, giving an excellent sound absorption capacity.

From our listening tests the ability to ensure the deepest and cleanest bass along with a mid-range that is spell-binding placed it heads and shoulders above all others.

Despite its much higher cost, we just had to have it in the LS3.5.

Binding posts that carry the signal unhindered

Leaving no stone unturned, we sourced a binding post that had the purest copper count, had the maximum surface area contact and had to be gold-plated for long-term enjoyment. Rest assured that even the banana speaker connectors we developed from the ground-up!

The silver-plated copper speaker cables and the gold-plated copper speaker connectors means the sound quality is simply unbeatable and means the LS3/5A can play with the "big boys".
