Flying Burrito Brothers'
Gram Parsons had a habit of taking over whatever band he happened to be working with, and on the first three albums on which he appeared - the International Submarine Band's Safe at Home, the Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo, and the Flying Burrito Brothers' The Gilded Palace of Sin - he became the focal point, regardless of the talent of his compatriots. Burrito Deluxe (1970), the Burritos' second album, is unique in Parsons' repertoire in that it's the only album where he seems to have deliberately stepped back to make more room for others.
The album includes songs like Cody, Cody, and Older Guys. It also contains the first issued version of the song Wild Horses, released almost a year before its appearance on Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones. The band sounds tight and they play with genuine enthusiasm. Burrito Deluxe is certainly better than your average Country-Rock album.1. Lazy Days

Sweetheart Of The RodeoRanked 117/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
With one mighty swing of the axe, the Byrds changed not only the face of rock 'n' roll but country music, as well, with their sixth album, 1968's Sweetheart Of The Rodeo. Tired of dipping a toe into the genre, Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman added singer Gram Parsons and drummer Kevin Kelley and went for total immersion. The baptism of country-rock was a natural with Parsons, former International Submarine Band frontman, now on board. And the repertoire was wide open for country classics by the Louvin Brothers (The Christian Life) and Merle Haggard (Life In Prison), as well as Depression-era ballads (Woody Guthrie's Pretty Boy Floyd) and honky tonk weepers cut by George Jones (You're Still On My Mind). The town wasn't big enough for both of them, of course, and Parsons soon split to form the Flying Burrito Brothers, but it sure was nice while it lasted!
We're proud to present the reissue of this monumental recording in its original, stereo incarnation, cut directly from the original Columbia Recordings analog stereo masters, with perfect artwork restoration and meticulously faithful mastering.1. You Ain't Going Nowhere

Longtime CompanionGold Colored Vinyl
Sonny Smith copes with a painful separation from his wife on this extremely personal country album. Recorded directly to tape in a musty basement smelling of beer and tobacco, Longtime Companion explores love and heartache along the vein of Gene Clark, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Johnny Cash.
Sonny dives into his self-described "sea of darkness" with a wide range of intimate lyrics, pedal steel, and acoustic guitars. After just one listen, it's clear no other genre could so eloquently frame Sonny's heartbreaking internal monologue more than the old time country music he grew up with. 180g gold vinyl LP.1. Grievous AngelGram Parsons pioneered the concept of a rock band playing country music, playing in bands such as The Byrds, The International Submarine Band and The Flying Burrito Brothers. His work has influenced both country and rock artists such as The Rolling Stones and Linda Ronstadt by blending the two genres to the point that they became indistinguishable from each other.
Compiled from 1973 studio sessions 'Grievous Angel' was originally released in 1974, four months after the songwriters death. It was the second solo album from Gram Parsons and is viewed as a successful example of the hybrid between country androck and rollParsons called Cosmic American Music. Two Sides To Every StoryTwo Sides To Every Story, the criminally long out-of-print solo album from founding Byrds member, Gene Clark, finally returns to vinyl. 35 years after its initial 1977 release on RSO, High Moon Records re-mastered, 180-gram audiophile vinyl LP is presented in stunningly rich and crisp audio fidelity that will shed new light on this underrated, beautifully-crafted Gene Clark classic. The album was produced by Thomas Jefferson Kaye, producer of Clark's masterpiece, No Other, and features an all-star cast of musical co-conspirators: singer Emmylou Harris, banjo-virtuoso Douglas Dillard (The Byrds, Dillard & Clark), Country violin legend Byron Berline, guitarist Jeff Skunk Baxter (Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell), and pedal-steel ace Al Perkins (Flying Burrito Brothers, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones). Gene Clark served as The Byrds chief songwriter in the mid-sixties, penning some of their most essential songs, including Feel a Whole Lot Better, Eight Miles High and You Showed Me.
Clark's inimitable songwriting and singing continue to inspire and influenced countless artists. Among them: Robert Plant and Alison Krauss (who recorded TWO of his compositions on their 2010 Grammy® winning Album Of The Year, Raising Sand ), Bob Dylan, Fairport Convention, REM, Tom Petty, Yo La Tengo, the Flamin' Groovies, Teenage Fanclub, and Wilco.1. Bidin' My TimeChris Hillman, whose credits include co-founding Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Byrds, as well as the Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas and Desert Rose Band, is truly one of the architects of American music. His newest solo work, Bidin' My Time, produced by Tom Petty and executive-produced by Herb Pedersen, captures a rarity: an icon who has never sounded better, making music with old friends for the sheer love of it.
Collaborators and admirers from Hillman's storied career appear throughout the record: Tom Petty; Hillman's Byrds bandmates David Crosby and Roger McGuinn; the Heartbreakers' Benmont Tench, Mike Campbell, and Steve Ferrone; Desert Rose Band's John Jorgenson, Pedersen, and Jay Dee Maness; premier upright bassist Mark Fain; singer/guitarist Josh JovÉ; and fiddler Gabe Witcher.
The album kicks off with a new recording of Pete Seeger's and Welsh poet Idris Davies' 'The Bells of Rhymney,' which the Byrds recorded for their debut. 'Here She Comes Again' was co-written by Hillman and McGuinn and, until now, had only been recorded on a live Byrds album in Australia. 'She Don't Care About Time' was written by Byrds co-founder Gene Clark, and was the original B-side to 'Turn! Turn! Turn!' Covers of the Everly Brothers' 'Walk Right Back' and Petty's 'Wildflowers' round out this understated yet undeniable masterpiece.

RoadmasterBy 1972, singer/songwriter Gene Clark had settled into a new life in Mendocino far from the intrusive media glare and fan adulation that still surrounded someone of his stature as a former member of the Byrds. However, he still owed A&M Records one more album. Gathering together the cream of the Los Angeles country-rock fraternity including innovative guitarist Clarence White, Chris Ethridge on bass, ex-Byrd and Burrito Brother Michael Clarke on drums, pedal steel guitarist extraordinaire Sneaky Pete, Byron Berline on fiddle and pianist Spooner Oldham, Gene set about recording an album of pure country rock unfettered by any commercial dictates.
Although the Spring of 1972 recording sessions were ultimately abandoned, Gene left eight precious songs in the vaults. Full Circle Song (later recorded by the reunited Byrds and a bona fide country-rock classic) and Shooting Star reveal a deep, introspective soul-searching. I Remember the Railroad and In a Misty Morning reflect a longing for the simpler days of his youth. The sessions also produced spirited versions of Flatt & Scruggs' Rough and Rocky, the country standard I Really Don't Want To Know, Freddie Weller's rollicking Roadmaster and a reinterpretation of his standout Byrds song, She Don't Care About Time.
Gene's manager Jim Dickson took these eight tracks and paired them with three additional unreleased recordings to assemble Roadmaster. The unreleased tracks chronicled two previous attempts at a Byrds reunion (One In A Hundred and She's the Kind of Girl) as well as the stunning Here Tonight, with Gene backed by The Flying Burrito Brothers. Originally a 1973 European-only release, imported copies of Roadmaster soon found their way to North America as fans came to recognize the brilliance in the ill-fated sessions. The album itself I was proud of, acknowledged Gene years later. I was proud of the writing and proud of the bunch of people who played on it.
This legendary recording makes its Sundazed debut on wondrous high-definition vinyl. It has been painstakingly mastered from the original A&M session tapes and is packaged with new album artwork. Mockingbird TimeDuring their heyday in the first half of the 1990's, The Jayhawks perfected a captivating sound that seamlessly blended the elegant folk-rock of The Byrds, the adventurousness of Buffalo Springfield, the hippiebilly soulfulness of The Flying Burrito Brothers, and the soaring harmonies of The Beach Boys. So it's richly ironic that their reappearance coincides with a dramatic resurgence of the musical approach they played such a central role in perpetuating. But this time around, The Jayhawks themselves are revered as icons by the young bands carrying on those same traditions, and it's their own legacy that they're advancing.
On Mockingbird Time, their eighth album, and the first with the original lineup since 1995's Tomorrow The Green Grass, they're once again pushing the envelope on songs and performances of rarefied dynamism and grace. The album's shapes and textures range from the string-laden grandeur of Hide Your Colors and the widescreen vistas of Tiny Arrows to the streamlined 12-string jangle of She Walks in So Many Ways and the amphetamine frenzy of High Water Blues.1. Shrink DustCalgary, Alberta's Chad VanGaalen's blood flows by unrestrained creative
impulses. He has never worked in a commercial recording studio. By
his hands alone, one line, sound, shape or word leads organically to the
next. Over the last ten to fifteen years, Chad has been producing living
maps in songs, drawings, modified instruments, animations and
performances--shifting forms pointing to another world, infinitely more
liveable, maybe hidden just under the surface of our own
In Shrink Dust, Chad's fifth full-length album under his own name, we
have a new window into his world. The album is, in Chad's view, a country
record. It is also partially a score to Chad's soon-to-be released, animated,
sci-fi feature, Translated Log of Inhabitants ("It's like Bob and Doug
McKenzie in space," says Chad).
Always a fan of esoteric instruments, Chad taught himself to play an
aluminum pedal steel guitar. His experiments with this instrument unify
the album, along with themes of death, transformation, fear, benign evil,
and the eccentricity of love. A newfound affection for The Flying Burrito
Brothers, and the sci-fi mysticism of the 1980s graphic novel The Incal
by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Moebius, also drove the album.
Somehow, with all of its disparate influences and components, Shrink
Dust might be one of the most accessible moments in CVG's creative
life, simply because it is more apparent than ever how much fun he is
having blurring the lines between the vivid worlds of his creation, and
the world his audience inhabits. For those who are open to it, Chad's
adventures in music and art illuminate a path that is more colorful,
playful, and sustainable than those commonly available to us. A path
that is, most importantly, always changeable.1. Cut Off My Hands
