    For All Kings

    Blue Colored Vinyl

Eleven studio albums and 33 years into their career, and ANTHRAX is set to output quite possibly the best thing they've ever done. "For All Kings" pulls no punches. This is a seriously heavy and astonishingly good record.

2013 saw the departure of guitarist Rob Caggiano to Volbeat, and the arrival of Jon Donais from Shadows Fall, who also makes his recording debut with Anthrax. Joey Belladonna is far and away the star of this recording, and I'll tell you why. In a world where an organic instrument like a voice can deteriorate over time and change how it sounds can be devastating for someone who makes their living from it- I'm looking at you, David Lee Roth. It's very evident that Mr. Belladonna does not have such issues, as his delivery is just as powerful as it was 30 years ago. Charlie Benante's amazing drumming is another constant in Anthrax, as is Frank Bello's bass playing; always top-notch and inspired. Band leader, Scott Ian, has brought Anthrax an incredible distance, and really shows off his mature musicianship with the other guys with his superior songwriting, even contributing lyrics for the first single, "Evil Twin", which was loosely written about the terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo publication offices in 2015.

They began recording in late 2014 with producer Jay Ruston in Los Angeles, California. Reportedly 15-20 songs were recorded and completed. Early in 2015, We were treated with a new song, "Soror Irrumator" which was featured on the Catch The Throne Mixtape Volume Two, and was scheduled to appear on "For All Kings", but strangely, does not appear on the album, despite what the band had suggested. Alex Ross gets his third turn as album artist, as he depicts the band as giant statues.

Anthrax today, is not the Anthrax of 1987, and "For All Kings" is not "Among The Living", even though 4/5 of the band are still intact from their peak period. I say that in a good way, because as good as they were then, to put it simply, they're better now. Better songwriters, better musicians, seasoned bandmates that know that they're better together than apart. If you loved "Worship Music" as much as I did, you'll love this album. When you can be a band that has played together for well over 30 years and still put out quality music like "For All Kings", it's nothing short of magic.

All For You: A Dedication To The Nat King Cole Trio

All for You is a tribute to the Nat King Cole Trio of the 1940s, when Cole performed as both a singer and a pianist. Krall, like her heroes Lena Horne and Carmen McRae, is also a singer-pianist, and she plays both roles on most of the songs here. She's able to link her singing to her piano playing in sympathetic ways and projects tremendous feeling through both. Like Cole in the '40s, Krall plays with a drummerless trio--here with guitarist Russell Malone and bassist Paul Keller. Their sense of intimate rapport is especially valuable on ballads such as You Call It Madness and I'm Thru with Love, but also allows such uptempo tunes as Hit That Jive Jack to swing with surprising lightness. -Geoffrey Himes

    Woman King

Aside from the immediacy and intimacy of his recorded work, there is one thing clear about Iron & Wine's Sam Beam: he is wonderfully and seemingly effortlessly prolific. In just short of 2 years he has released 2 full-length albums and two EPs. Recorded in August 2004 with Brian Deck at his Engine Studios in Chicago, Iron & Wine's latest release, the Woman King EP, is striking both for its broadened palette (percussion, piano, violin, even electric guitar all crop up here) and its thematic focus on female characters both archetypal and personal. The latter is mostly coincidental, a larger batch of songs yielding recurrent imagery when pared down for this EP. That negotiation with the sexual other might be best summed up with a line from My Lady's House: Thank god you see me the way you do/Strange as you are to me. And, the increasingly complex beauty of Iron & Wine's albums might best be summed up by the following, from SPIN (in a review of Our Endless Numbered Days): It all works because Beam is a fearlessly accessible songwriter, framing his melancholy in concrete imagery and solid, inviting melodies. He writes with the self-confidence of a man at peace with his gauzy gufts. He sings like a father talking to a child he respects or like a husband to a wife he adores. Beam has given us his second straight masterwork: self-assured, spellbinding and richly, refreshingly adult. Here's his third.

    King Strings

John Lee Hooker, Albert King, Johnny "Guitar" Watson And More On 180 Gram Vinyl Pressed At R.T.I.

Selected from the crown jewels of the rich King-Federal-DeLuxe discography, King Strings features rocking, socking guitar instrumentals from the Cincinnati-based family of labels cut between 1949 and 1962, programmed for power! Fashioned as a vintage King LP from the era and containing a killer line-up of the biggest talents the stable of labels offered, this is the historic various artists collection that should have been issued circa 1962. King was central to the underlying creative flow in R&B during the era, and the recordings here show the depth of style and synergy that the label routinely captured on vinyl. From the proto-funk groove of Hooker's "Stomp Boogie" (under the pseudonym Texas Slim) to two cuts of Baker magic captured in Paris over a decade later, and including key cuts from Freddy King, Albert King, Johnny "Guitar" Watson and many others in between, you'll individually hear a variety of instruments, tones and techniques, but together the clear, common artistry of the players' sovereign ability, sequenced like a long, climactic solo-this is the sound of some of the most heralded talent of the guitar generation! Includes a rich, detailed insert with rare photos and extensive liner notes by Colin Escott. Join six-string soul royalty for a showcase from the company that called itself The King of Them All!

    Prom King

When Ryan DeRobertis announced the name change of his project from Saint Pepsi to Skylar Spence, there was no indication of any stylistic departure, though the change arrived with a musical shift toward faster tempos and more pristine production. Whereas Saint Pepsi had often used decades-old boogie, disco, and new wave as grist for the sampling mill, Skylar Spence is intent on trafficking more overtly in those genre aesthetics through his own production techniques and vocal contributions. With 'Prom King,' DeRobertis reorients his music for his new full-band live act and winds up with an album full of tight and enveloping dance tunes. Working with Carpark Records "gave me the confidence to 'go big' with the new material: to write pop songs with universal messages in the sonic wrapping paper that I've grown accustomed to," DeRobertis says. "A few songs on 'Prom King' are about specific events in my life-a party where I got too messed up, watching a friend's life spiral out of control and trying to help-but I tried hard not to be too autobiographical because I want my music to unite, above all else. I'm much more interested in connecting with the listener than mystifying my personality."

While DeRobertis' previous long-players have been more amorphous collections in the style of beat tapes, 'Prom King' is compact and cohesive, with the album's varied stylistic references (new wave, UK garage, boogie) united through strong guitar melodies and Todd Edwards-ian cobblings-together of tiny vocal samples. "I slowed some music down and called myself an artist," DeRobertis sings on lead single "Can't You See," acknowledging in his lyrics what is already apparent in the music's tone-he can maintain fidelity to his vision while working in more uptempo, disco-based song structures. "Ridiculous!" and "Bounce Is Back" are big groovers that capitalize on jacking hi-hats and hand drumming, respectively, and both have an air of Balearic warmth and smoothness. On the title track, DeRobertis entwines a chorus of unintelligible but expressive samples with his own vocals-what feels like a synthesis of two approaches-and the result is an affecting pattern of build and release. More contemplative sophisti-pop numbers like "Fall Harder" and "Affairs" add a realist's breadth of scope: thoughts of past foibles bleed into present-dwelling and dancing. 'Prom King' is DeRobertis making sense of missed opportunities. His high school did not have a prom king; he has filled the position with an imaginative album of personal and musical revisionism.

    Boy King

Wild Beasts have announced their new album Boy King, their most direct and vital collection to date.

Where 2014's Present Tense album found Wild Beasts in reflective mood, absorbing a fascination with
online culture and electronic music, Boy King has them, as Tom Fleming puts it, "back to being pissed
off". The quartet's ever-present knack for sensual melody via Hayden Thorpe and Fleming's dueting
vocals, Ben Little's sinuous guitar groove and Chris Talbot's potent rhythm section carries in Boy King an
aggressive, snarling and priapic beast that delves into the darker side of masculinity and Thorpe's own
psyche. As Hayden himself says, "After five records there had to be an element of 'what the fuck?'".

A newfound creative friction between Thorpe and Fleming proved key to unleashing the unique pop
sensibility of Boy King - Fleming's more visceral experimentation unlocking new dimensions in Thorpe's
own writing. After spending a whole year finessing this new found impetus in East London, the band
emerged with a collection of songs ready to take to Dallas, TX and producer John Congleton (St.
Vincent, Swans, The War on Drugs). Both Thorpe and Fleming credit that trip to Dallas with teasing out
the raw power of Boy King.

The raw pop of Boy King's songs are the perfect foil to Thorpe's libidinous lyricism: "it became apparent
that that guitar almost became the character within the songs, that phallic character, the all-conquering
male," he says. "I'm letting my inner Byron fully out, I thought I'd tucked him away, but he came
screaming back like the Incredible Hulk." Here lies Boy King's greatest success. Between the slide of
prowling aggression and interior darkness, there are glorious, gorgeous moments. It's yet another
incomparable Wild Beasts record; a visceral, sensual and jolting body of work that acts as a remarkable
soundtrack to the early 21st century male malaise.

The Elvis Presley/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series Continues!

Celebrate The 55th Anniversary Of Elvis Presley's Smash Soundtrack Album King Creole!

Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso And Manufactured At R.t.i.

Elvis Aaron Presley was born during The Great Depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during
the early fifties, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys.

These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known.

The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out his
contract and signed the legend to a long term deal, and his first RCA single Heartbreak Hotel forever etched "The King Of Rock And
    Roll" trademark to his name.

In 1958 after several chart topping albums and a bevy of number one singles, more incredible fame followed as the King
Creole movie starring Elvis Presley became a box office smash. The soundtrack album also was a blockbuster as it topped the
charts, making this his sixth smash album in a row! Both the King Creole movie and soundtrack LP truly proved once again that his
career was unlike any other in music history.

Filled with more hits than a New Orleans jukebox, the King Creole album takes off with several smashes in a row, including
the classic title track rocker King Creole featuring Scotty Moore's trail blazing guitar work and the chart topping single Hard Headed
Woman. More soundtrack treasures follow with the beautiful ballad Young Dreams and the rockin' blues of his huge classic Trouble,
which truly made the album a treasure trove of hits. The album also features the stellar bayou rock blues of Crawfish which amazingly sounds like some of the classic southern rock sounds to grace the radio throughout the sixties and seventies. In total, the
album showcases 11 important Elvis Presley recordings which have truly gone on to become international classics.

In honor of the Man, the Music, the Legend, the King Of Rock And Roll, Friday Music is very proud and honored to announce
the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of the RCA Victor classic King Creole by Elvis Presley.

    King Of America

King of America on Numbered Limited Edition 180 Gram LP from Mobile Fidelity

Costello Teams With Musical Legends and Standout Producer T-Bone Burnett on Exemplary 1986 Album

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Mobile Fidelity LP Maximizes the Get-In, Get-Out, Live-In-the-Studio Immediacy and De-Congested Mix

Includes Introspective Songwriting Gems Such as "Indoor Fireworks," "Poisoned Rose," "Brilliant Mistake," and "Little Palaces"

Juggling Themes of Desire and Exile, Costello Strips Arrangements Down to Folk, Country and Pub-Rock Roots

Elvis Costello spent the year prior to recording King of America embarking on a solo tour, usually accompanied by producer/singer-songwriter T-Bone Burnett. The pair's decision to collaborate on Costello's 1986 album came naturally, and the music sounds it-emotional, effortless, literate, seemingly uncomplicated. Credit, however, not only goes to the best batch of Costello originals since 1982's Imperial Bedroom, but to the literally awesome and awe-inspiring cast of musicians Burnett invited to participate.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's 180 gram LP of this masterpiece broadens the live-in-the-studio intimacy and opens up the midrange, highs, and lows of Burnett's fabulously de-congested mix. Made with few overdubs or effects, King of America relishes organic approaches and faithful tones-as well as a vast spaciousness and balance not always evident on Costello's efforts with the attractions. Finally, Mobile Fidelity transports the listener to the semicircle of players that surrounded Costello in the studio, and highlights the benefits of the center-of-the-production miking technique employed on the singer's voice and guitar playing.

Given the brilliance of the performances, every music fan will want to be brought as near as possible to the purity of these sessions. A Hall of Fame-caliber list of instrumentalists accompany Costello, with Elvis Presley's T.C.B. mates Ron Tutt (drums), James Burton (guitar), and Jerry Scheff (bass) forming one band and drummer Earl Palmer (Little Richard), bassist Ray Brown (Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington), pianist Tom Canning, and organist Mitchell Froom ready in waiting as another. Several of these musicians formed yet another band, joined by drummer Jim Keltner of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and John Lennon fame. Oh-and the Attractions make a guest appearance on one track.

King of America-the title reflective of the threads of intentional, thought-provoking contradiction throughout-would be exemplary if just for the troupe. Yet it's the combination of chemistry, ability, sonics, and tunes that propel this watertight platter to iconic status. Unconcerned with writing a radio hit or adhering to a single musical theme, Costello wrote a majority of the material on acoustic guitar and on piano, tapping his pub-rock and folk roots in turning out songs that remain some of the catchiest, introspective, and deep of his career. Cuts such as "Indoor Fireworks," "Poisoned Rose," "Brilliant Mistake," and "Suit of Lights" epitomize Costello's inimitable manner of viewing adulthood, romance, and geographical transition through a transparent lens that blocks neither truth nor consequence.

As for the music? It swings (vide, Scheff's bass line on "Lovable"), swishes (Keltner's brushes on "I'll Wear It Proudly"), jumps (Brown's string bass on "Eisenhower Blues"), swoons ("Poisoned Rose"), and shuffles ("Jack of All Parades"). There's truly not a bum track here, and now, experienced in such high fidelity, the genius of every contributor can be easily heard and felt. Akin to Mobile Fidelity's other Costello reissues, this is not to be missed.

    The Nat King Cole Story

Analogue Productions' Blue Note and Nat King Cole Reissues WIN A Positive Feedback 2010 Brutus Award!
...if you haven't picked up every one of the Blue Note and Nat King Cole reissues from Chad Kassem and company at Acoustic Sounds, you're really missing out! - David W. Robinson, Positive Feedback, Issue 52

The results on this five 45rpm 180g LP set are simply astonishing, particularly if you've heard the originals. The transparency, dynamics and three-dimensionality create the intense sensation of being in the studio with the musicians and especially with Cole who appears as a visceral, floating apparition between the speakers. The size and three-dimensionality of the vocal image produces the sensation of the listener being a 'fly on the microphone mike stand' listening to Cole perform, surrounded by musicians. The arrangements and performances are faithful to the originals but the sound of course is far superior. The feeling is of sitting in on history by being there, not merely eavesdropping after the fact. Music = 10/11; Sound = 11/11 - Michael Fremer, Musicangle

...mastered from the original three-track work tapes is a sonic spectacular that outdoes the original by a wide margin - as does its packaging. The SACD includes three-channel and two-channel mixes. A major reissue. Stereophile Records To Die For - Michael Fremer, Stereophile, February 2010

One of Nat King Cole's crowning achievements and a fittingly lavish celebration of a cultural and musical icon, The Nat King Cole Story offers a glorious overview of the career of one of the greatest and most beloved performers in popular music history. 38 tracks, many re-recorded in stereo for this anthology, offer a selection spanning his popular career.

His beginnings leading the popular jazz-oriented Nat King Cole Trio are represented with selections including Route 66 and I Love You (For Sentimental Reasons). Hits including Nature Boy, Mona Lisa, Unforgettable, Orange Colored Sky, Night Lights and Looking Back are here to represent his unparalleled string of memorable hits as a popular vocalist. Calypso Blues and Ay Cosita Linda help illustrate the range his projects could cover. More contemporary to this anthology, selections including Wild Is Love are augmented here with two huge hits as a special bonus, Ramblin' Rose and Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer to further expand the scope.

A talent and voice for all times with a body of work that could and did help define their eras, Nat King Cole's career offers some of the finest, most enduring and treasured recordings ever made. Nat King Cole could never be fully served by any one set. But this wonderful cornucopia stands as a fantastic celebration for the enthusiast and a good starting point for someone just beginning to explore The Nat King Cole Story.

Using the original first generation 2-track and 3-track session tapes from Capitol's vaults and all-analogue systems including custom headstacks, 3-track preview heads, console and monitoring chain installed at AcousTech specially for these releases, mastering engineers Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman realize the stunning beauty of these recordings in this 45-RPM 180-gram five album set.

Originally presented as a deluxe box set of 3 LPs in a canvas-bound embossed box with essays and pictures included in a album-sized booklet, The Nat King Cole Story was a prestigious release Capitol took obvious pride in. Complete with 5 LPs, canvas-bound embossed box and booklet with essays and pictures, Analogue Productions proudly recreates the experience for a new generation to cherish with this deluxe release. This truly is a no-expenses-spared project, resulting in the ultimate version of this title and a historic reissue.

There are 38 songs in this collection. Of those, three are the same recordings included on other Analogue Productions Nat King Cole reissues. Stardust (track 28) is the same version included on Love Is The Thing. St. Louis Blues (track 30) is the same version included on the album of that title. And Paradise (track 33) is the same version included on The Very Thought Of You. Three more songs - Sweet Lorraine, It's Only A Paper Moon and (Get Your Kicks On) Route 66 - are songs that appear on After Midnight, however these versions are stereo re-recordings of the original arrangements from the 1940s.

    All My Life

With All My Life, his second APO Records release, Jimmie Lee is aiming for goose bumps and tears. And if you've got appreciation for acoustic, front porch blues, you'll have a tough time escaping his spell.

No doubt Jimmie Lee Robinson offers a delightful taste of traditional blues. His work through the years with such stalwarts as Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf, Freddie King, Elmore James and Jimmy Reed have made their impressions on the man called The Lonely Traveler just as he has been credited with inspiring them.

On All My Life you'll hear standby classics like a haunting, slowed-down version of Muddy Waters' Forty Days and Forty Nights with eerie harmonica accompaniment by Madison Slim. And Jimmie Lee even covers a non-blues favorite with What a Wonderful World. His live version of that song at a 1999 concert in Blue Heaven Studios - the converted church that is home to APO Records - brought tears to scores of the 400 in attendance.

But All My Life is also packed with Jimmie Lee originals like the title track, which was once covered by John Mayall, where Jimmie Lee pleads with the woman of his dreams to return all the respect and love he's paid to her. That track is also a perfect showcase for the classic Jimmie Lee growling vocals and the spurs jangling from his boots as the only percussion.

Unlike his first APO release, Remember Me, an almost entirely-solo effort, Jimmie Lee is joined on most of the All My Life tracks by APO artist and noted-guitarist Jimmy D. Lane and journeyman harp player Madison Slim, whose knack for acoustic blues is highlighted on this release.

Jimmie Lee has gained national attention for his protest of the destruction of Chicago's famed Maxwell Street, said to be the birthplace of Chicago blues and the neighborhood where Jimmie Lee grew up. He fasted for 81 straight days, shunning solid food as if it was the wrecking ball he so badly wants to stop. His efforts were even documented on the front page of the New York Times.

The Shirelles and King Curtis Give a Twist Party

In 1962, the twist was EVERYWHERE. Artists from Joey Dee to Frank Sinatra (?!) were all chasing the craze, feverishly recording twist-able platters to meet the dance floor demand. Saxophone great King Curtis didn't sleep on the trend, scoring a major hit with "Soul Twist" along with several other twist-themed singles. Thus, it was only natural that he should team up with the country's #1 girl group, The Shirelles, themselves in the middle of an incredible run of chart-topping singles. This inspired pairing resulted in the Shirelles' second LP release of 1962, The Shirelles and King Curtis Give a Twist Party.

And what a party it is! The album's eleven tracks mix scorching instrumentals with vocal numbers, never once stopping for air. Curtis' gritty sax tone combines with The Shirelles' dulcet harmonies for a one-of-a-kind sound that will have everyone in the house on their feet, wearing through shoe leather. Sourced from the original Scepter analog master, this Sundazed reissue is destined to become a "go to" LP for your next soirÉe. Because when The Shirelles and King Curtis Give a Twist Party, the only acceptable RSVP is YES!!!"

Ranked 424/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

King of the Delta Blues Singers, Vol. II is a compilation album by American blues musician Robert Johnson, released in 1970 on Columbia Records. It is considered one of the greatest blues releases ever.

A wonderful follow-up to the first compilation (King of the Delta Blues Singers) of Robert Johnson's small library of recorded work. This album boasts the first album appearance of Love in Vain, as well as a number of other blues classics penned by the artist. Sweet Home Chicago, I Believe I'll Dust My Broom, They're Red Hot, and Malted Milk are all present (and all covered by a multitude of artists -- the Blues Brothers, Elmore James, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Eric Clapton, respectively). As is generally the practice with Robert Johnson albums, a painting stands in for the cover (there are only two known photographs of the artist in the first place, and every other album released uses one of them). The music is certainly impeccable -- the self-accompanying bassline boogie was one of Johnson's greatest contributions to the blues, and it's displayed in all its beauty here. To top this, there's the beauty of his melodic work, and the interplay with his semi-gruff voice that help to make his songs memorable. He is the true legend of the blues, and anyone with even the slightest curiosity in that genre or rock needs to own both this album and its predecessor.

The Original King Bee (The Best Of Slim Harpo) - On 200-Gram LP From Analogue Productions

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio From The Original Analog Tapes

Plated And Pressed At Quality Record Pressings

Old-Style Tip-On Jacket By Stoughton Printing

What's the point in listening to us doing 'I'm A King Bee when you can hear Slim Harpo do it? - Mick Jagger, 1968

Slim Harpo died in 1970. Better known by his stage name than his given, James Isaac Moore, he epitomized the swamp blues style, and at the time of his passing he was at the brink of enjoying the kind of fame he'd deserved since the release of his first single, the infectious King Bee 13 years earlier.

Harpo was just beginning to play for urban, white audiences when he succumbed to an unexpected heart attack. There were plenty of people who were aware of Slim and not all of them were young British musicians who knew a good tune when they heard it. Pete Welding, writing in Rolling Stone, described Harpo as a stylist who's carved out his own niche, and within the relatively narrow confines of that approach he's unbeatable - and of course, immediately recognizable ... the emphasis is on forceful, direct rhythm, tight and simple arrangements (even when horns are used) that work beautifully with Slim's sly, laconic singing and harmonica playing and, above else, feeling.

What an iconic performer - perfect for the full Analogue Productions reissue treatment. The Best of Slim Harpo (The Original King Bee) has his iconic hits from a formidable career: I'm A King Bee, Got Love If You Want It, Baby Scratch My Back, Shake Your Hips, Te Ni Nee Ni Nu, Mohair Sam and more. They're included on an incredibly silent and rich-sounding 200-gram LP pressed by Quality Record Pressings. Mastering from the original analog tapes was by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. Finally, it's all contained in a old-style tip-on heavyweight cardboard jacket from Stoughton Printing. Spectacular sound and an eye-catching package. That's the Analogue Productions difference.

Just up the Mississippi from Baton Rouge, on February 11, 1924, James Isaac Moore was born. He would live in the area for practically all of his life. As a child he took up harmonica, and later, in adulthood, supported himself and his family as a laborer, as a gas station attendant, he hauled sugar cane, and did other odd jobs. He didn't become a professional musician until he began to record in the mid-'50s. In 1955, Moore began recording with Lightnin' Slim at J.D. Miller's studio in Crowley, Louisiana.

Two years later Moore first recorded as a featured artist. The initial session at Miller's studio resulted in three completed masters, all originals: I'm A King Bee, Got Love If You Want It and This Ain't No Place For Me. Still, Slim, through his career, didn't tour much, and his record label - Excello - was a small independent with promotion and distribution problems typical for its size. Most of Slim's fame and fortune came second-hand.

We're betting you'll enjoy this Slim Harpo compilation as much as we've enjoyed putting it together and bringing it to you. As Mick pointed out, there's nothing like the original. And Slim Harpo was original to the hilt. We're excited to honor his memory with this exceptional release.

    For The Demented

    Pressed On 180-Gram Colored Vinyl

Annihilator's brand-new album "For The Demented" promises to pack a premier punch. The thrash/heavy metal legends are set to release their 16th studio album via Neverland Music.

Since 1989, Canada's ANNIHILATOR has not stopped putting out records and touring the world. Despite the ever-changing climate of the Metal World (and releasing a series of "different" Metal records with various lineups along the way), Jeff Waters and company have consistently delivered strong albums since the band's debut "Alice In Hell." Then there was 1990's best-selling "Never, Neverland," 1995's "King of The Kill," "Schizo Deluxe" in 2005 and many other critically-acclaimed releases up until 2015's "Suicide Society." The 'under-the-radar' influence of this band and writer/guitarist/vocalist Jeff Waters has been felt throughout the entire realm of the metal world by a ton of well-known musicians and bands; that influence even stretching into the hard rock and instrumentalist genre. ANNIHILATOR's main man Jeff Waters, in his usual humble manner, offers this in response: "ANNIHILATOR's music has been influenced by a good hundred of my favorite bands and musicians; you can hear their contributions to what I have been doing all throughout ANNIHILATOR's catalog. It's a bonus and an honor when bands and musicians I love mention that I had something to do with their playing or songs!"

Which all leads to the fact that ANNIHILATOR'S 16th studio release, "For The Demented", is certainly their most complete and definitive statement yet. "It was time to analyze what a lot of fans over the years have kept telling me," says Waters. "It was time to sit down and figure out "why" ANNIHILATOR's early "thrash-meets-melodic" caught the ears of so many AND to try to sweep the "fan" part of my writing/playing/singing out the door and welcome back the mostly-original Waters writing that was to be the first four ANNIHILATOR albums." Waters didn't venture back alone, while looking back through ANNIHILATOR'S history. "I was well aware that trying to recapture the past usually fails, or at least won't come close. So, I decided to bring in fresh ears, both musically and physically with Rich Hinks, my bassist for the last few years. And doing most all of the records by myself, including writing and playing most all on my own, as well as mixing, mastering, engineering, etc , well it can become routine and can often hinder you from being objective and more creative. Rich came in and co-wrote the music with me, as well as co-produced the beginning stages of the record. His background of classic thrash metal meets a newer "math" metal style was the perfect combination for me to simply ask, "what do you think of this?" He would most-often reply with "not the ANNIHILATOR style I like", so we would keep going until we both felt that core ANNIHILATOR riffing and writing style presented itself.

"Bottom line, "For The Demented" captures some feel from ANNIHILATOR's 1985-87 demos mixed with the first 4 ANNIHILATOR records. Back to the thrash meets melody but with some pure Waters guitar riffing, up-graded lead guitar shredding and vocals back to the demo-days meets the "King of The Kill" record. Lyrically, I placed a theme on the record: the human mind and all of its glory, complexity, diversity, weaknesses, and insanity! Pretty much the craziness of the music is matched by the lyrics." "I think Metal Fans are going to hear much of what they have been waiting for from ANNIHILATOR."

God Hates Us All (Awaiting Repress)

While thrash-metal peers Metallica and Megadeth have mellowed both musically and lyrically, Slayer's music and message remains unrelentingly anti-nearly-everything and almost unspeakably brutal. Without significant radio airplay, the hard-core California-bred quartet has amassed a loyal fan base that will not be disappointed by the 42 minutes of sheer aggression found on God Hates Us All. The twin-guitar onslaught of Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, coupled with the rapid heartbeat double bass drums of Paul Bostaph, match the often sacrilegious and abhorrent-to-many lyrics, made even more disturbing by the fact that the album's release coincided with the World Trade Center tragedy.

This is metal for atheists, as King writes terrifyingly prophetically: Pessimist, terrorist, targeting the next mark/ Global chaos feeding on hysteria. In keeping with the album's doomsday outlook, New Faith offers: Welcome to the horror of the Revelation. A terrifyingly vitriolic and too-real album, God Hates Us All more than earns the parental advisory sticker it carries.

"Mavis has done it all and worked with
just about everybody from Bob Dylan to
Prince to Jeff Tweedy She still is singing
for justice and equality and influencing a
new generation of musicians and fans."
    - President Barack Obama

A voice of reassurance in troubled times." - Chicago Tribune

"Rather than protest the state of the world, Staples is toasting
human endurance-- hers as well as ours." - Pitchfork

"a voice that has lost none of its gutsy power since she unleashed
it, some six decades ago." - New York Times

MAVIS STAPLES is an American Music legend. She
was at the forefront of the civil rights movement in the
1960's, as singer for the legendary gospel group, The
Staples Singers. Mavis, along with her father, Pops,
and siblings marched and worked alongside Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr on the fight for equality in this country.

In December 2016, Mavis went to Washington, DC
to receive the coveted Kennedy Center Honors from
President Obama, with whom she has had a long
standing friendship. Mavis invited Wilco frontman and
dear friend, Jeff Tweedy as her guest for the weekend's
festivities. The two spent hours discussing the
current events and how today's fight for equality is
very similar to those in the '60s. Inspired by these
events, Mavis and Jeff got together and wrote Mavis'
new album, If All I Was Was Black, produced by Jeff
Tweedy. The new album is a perfect message for our
time and is by far Mavis' best work to date.

I'll Play The Blues For You

The regal twang and moan of Albert Kings guitar has long been one of the most riveting sounds in urban blues.

If King hadnt developed his way of bending notes into uncannily human cries, shouts and whispers, modern blues guitar would be a different phenomenon. King played his right-handed guitar upside down and backward, using his left hand. But there was nothing backward about the music he made. Literally pulling emotion from the strings, he created resonance and a sustained wail that distinguished him from all other blues guitarists.

In Ill Play The Blues For You, one of the prime albums of Kings Stax period, we hear a thrilling live performance of his classic Ill Be Doggone and a hair-raising Dont Burn Down The Bridge. Throughout, the warm ruggedness of the masters singing complements his guitar.
