This Year's Best DisasterAvailable on Vinyl for the First Time in The United States!
With former members of Garrison, Texas Is The Reason, Thursday, and Milhouse making up the lineup of I Hate Our Freedom, there wasn't a doubt that the band's second release, This Year's Best Disaster, could be anything short of jaw dropping. The disc, which will be the first available vinyl in the States, is a nostalgic collection of post-hardcore from the '90s. Featuring loud, gritty and raw vocals, edgy grooves, sleek riffs and loud drums, "3am New York City" encompasses the attitude of the sleepless city. Seamless quarter glides into "Sans Sympathie," which is a bit mellower than the previous sucker-punching cut, but keeps the release moving. As This Year's Best Disaster continued on, it was nearly impossible to not get excited to see what the next track had to offer. The combined forces of the talented veterans created something that isn't seen too often lately.
This Year's Best Disaster peaks during the brash "Second Telling Of A First Degree." The number throttles the entire album into overdrive with its nimble and lively instruments, and Joseph Grillo's bold and rugged voice makes its mark on the listener. As much as each cut has its own unique qualities that add to their wow factor, "Letterbomb" lacks the extra oomph that the other pieces on the collection have. Despite the setback, which really doesn't severely impact the disc, I Hate Our Freedom makes a full recovery. Despite each song on This Year's Best Disaster having their own strong points, the final four cuts are some of the most intense on the album. Leaving two of the strongest pieces to close it out, I Hate Our Freedom creates the need to replay the angsty disc all over again.

Young New EnglandTransit believes music is about connecting with people and that's exactly what they do. Through the honesty and individuality expressed in their music, the North Shore Boston band has been able to connect with kids from their humble beginnings in the Northeast Pop-punk scene and nationwide as they have toured more and more. Through their relentless tour schedule and incredible work ethic, the band has shared the stage with artists such as Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, Senses Fail, Saves The Day, Four Year Strong, The Wonder Years and many more as well as a stint on the entire Vans Warped Tour.
When they released Listen & Forgive in fall of 2011 the band received accolades from the press for their ability to deliver a record that became an instant classic among their core fans but also transcended the genre, bringing the band to a much wider audience. With their 2nd Rise Records full length, Young New England, the band continues onward

Shed (Awaiting Repress)Originally formed in 2003 by guitarist/vocalist Jamie Rhoden and the twin brother duo of vocalist/bassist Ned Russin and drummer Ben Russin when the trio were barely teenagers, Title Fight started as a way for these young kids to explore their burgeoning love of hardcore. But after adding guitarist Shane Moran in 2005, something funny happened; their tireless practicing eventually transformed them into one of the most exciting hardcore acts in recent memory.
After releasing a handful of EPs and 7s as well as performing shows all over the world, Title Fight began attracting attention from fans and labels who were captivated by the way the band managed to put a modern spin on the melodic hardcore sound pioneered by acts like Gorilla Biscuits and Lifetime and in 2010 the members of Title Fight dropped out of college in order to tour full-time with acts such as New Found Glory, Four Year Strong and H20. It was also around this time that the band entered the studio with Gorilla Biscuits/Quicksand guitarist Walter Schreifels who agreed to produce the band and promptly drove down to Northeastern Pennsylvania to help them prepare to record their highly anticipated full-length debut Shed.
From there the band headed to Philadelphia to record Shed over a grueling two-week period at the legendary Studio 4. However all those long nights paid off as Shed sees the band implementing various subgenres that range from old-school hardcore to aggressive punk rock that make these twelve energetic anthems instant classics for a new generation of listeners searching for music that inspires them as much as Title Fight were inspired by their heroes.
Weve been a band for seven years and this is the first time weve had a recording thats longer than seven minutes long, says Ned Russin. The last year has been a crazy ride but the whole time weve always stayed true to the fact that were not trying to be anything were not, he summarizes. Were four friends that play in a band together and we would still be doing this whether we were playing to five people or five hundred of them.1. Coxton Yard

Extra VirginFirst Pressing Of 750 Numbered Copies On Blue Vinyl

Includes Bonus Track You're Not Alone
Extra Virgin was the first release for British Trip Hop band Olive, released in 1996. This album defined Olive's style, spawning three singles, You're Not Alone, Outlaw, and Miracle. The Trip Hop influence of Massive Attack and Portishead, while in small quantities, are evident, mixed in with synth-based electronic dance.
A year after its initial release, Olive's debut album Extra Virgin produced a number one British hit with You're Not Alone, a low-key Trip-Hop number with a graceful melody. It's a strong single, and there are similarly strong moments on Extra Virgin.
The band created some samples by recording live sounds, edited and subsequently filtered. Synthesizers used on the album were a Roland Juno-60, an E-mu Systems Vintage Keys, and an Akai S3000XL sampler. All in all this makes for an organic, trippy experience.LP 1

Television (Awaiting Repress)Rarely does a legendary band break up, reunite 14 years later, and proceed to make an album nearly as strong as their previous work, but in 1992, New York icons Television did just that, with their eponymous 3rd album. The trick, Tom Verlaine, Richard Lloyd and Co. realized, was not to try to sound like 1978 Television, but instead to embrace where the last decade had taken them, and make a new sound, still distinctly Television, but also distinctly not a sad attempt to relive past glories. SpiritchaserSpiritchaser, Dead Can Dance's seventh album, was released in 1996 and was the final studio album the band released with 4AD (it was to be another 16 years until they reconvened to make their eighth, Anastasis). Again recording at Brendan's Quivvy Church in Ireland and as hinted at by the album's title, the band had moved their focus away from the traditional medieval and Eastern sound of their middle albums to work with African and Caribbean tribal rhythms. Still unmistakeably Dead Can Dance, percussion is at the forefront throughout Spiritchaser and despite contributions from Ronan O'Snodaigh, Renaud Pion, Lance Hogan, Robert Perry and Peter Ulrich on a few tracks, the album is mostly just Perry and Gerrard. In fine voice throughout, like their whole career's work, their strong singing remains the centerpiece.LP 1

Hold FastInfluenced by the optimism of The Beatles walking down the airliner steps at New York airport in '64 and the melancholy of The Smiths waiting by the cemetery gates in Manchester in '84,The Crookes tap into 50 years of British pop for their sounds, and 100 years of British social history for the word.
The Crookes are at the forefront of the latest wave of music to surface in the UK. They are four English Literature graduates whose music is bound with storytelling and tinged with nostalgia. Described by NYLON magazine as the 'potential leaders of England's smart, taut NEW POP movement' they personify English charm and eloquent, intelligent songwriting.
In 2010 Exposed Magazine readers voted and awarded The Crookes coveted 'Best Unsigned Band' award. Following the success of their debut album Chasing After Ghosts (2011) the band have built up a strong Cult following known as the "Bright Young Things" which further consolidates the strong aesthetic of the band. The band were chosen by Burberry to perform for their Burberry Acoustic range, as well as The Art of the Trench range. They were also taken out to Tokyo to represent the brand for Vogue's Fashion Night Out.
Following a slight line-up change in 2011 the band have now consolidated their more mature sound resulting in the release of their critically acclaimed second LP HOLD FAST.
"They are kings of romance (an important part of the New Pop brewing around the UK)... There is something almost subversive about their odd mix of influences (The Smiths/'60s girl groups/'50s rock and roll)... Recorded at Monument Studios, Nashville and Lyn-Lou Studios, Memphis in 1969 and released the same year, the album contained the single Roosevelt And Ira Lee. It was produced by Billy Swan and engineered by Tommy Strong and Mort Thomasson.
The album contains the track Rainy Night In Georgia popularized by R&B vocalist Brook Benton in 1970. It reached #4 on the Pop Singles and #2 on the Adult Contemporary charts, respectively. The RIAA certified the single Gold for sales of one million copies. In 2004, it was ranked #498 on the List of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. David Ruffin recorded a cover version of the song the same year as Benton, however, Motown for unknown reasons did not release the album.
The song has been covered by a number of musicians, including Ray Charles, Otis Rush, Randy Crawford, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Amos Garrett, Hank Williams, Jr., Shelby Lynne, John Holt, Nicky Thomas, by the duet of Conway Twitty and Sam Moore, Aaron Neville, and reggae band The Gladiators.1. Ultraista RemixesLIMITED EDITION OF 2,000 COPIES
Ultraísta Remixes compiles a year's worth of remixes from friends and collaborators within the ever-expanding Ultraísta orbit. Though some of these tracks have become social media sensations in their own right - collectively clocking more than two million plays on the band's Soundcloud and YouTube channels - Ultraísta Remixes has been perfectly sequenced to succeed as a stand-alone album (an alarmingly strong one, no less). Rarely do remix
albums have this level of quality control and seemingly infinite replay value.
Whereas Ultraísta's debut album commits to its palette with uncanny precision and devotion, Remixes explodes its individual parts and reveals the group to be equally compelling as techno powerhouse (Four Tet, FaltyDL, DC Sux), dark electro-pop (Zero 7, Zammuto, ERAAS, Canon Blue), experimental dance (Prefuse 73, Matthew Herbert), and even driving industrial rock (David Lynch in an inspired
NIN-meets-YYYs turn). The combination of all of these seemingly disparate parts makes for a surprisingly cohesive whole, and a remarkable companion to the original album.1. You're Out (Prefuse 73 Remix)

In Kind // AmendsAfter having released their critically acclaimed debut Native Speaker in 2011, BRAIDS have returned with a new 12" single In Kind // Amends. Out June 11th on Arbutus Records, the 12" features two singles from their forthcoming sophomore album, as well as two exclusive b-sides.
After 18 months of touring in support of Native Speaker, along with the departure of a band member, the group secluded themselves in their Montreal studio for a year of writing and recording. While Native Speaker was written in an organic and live environment, the group sought to explore a more introspective and electronic approach to songwriting. Sonically, the songs from these sessions are delicate and tight, yet thoughtfully open up to the rich lushness reminiscent of their older material. Lyrically they are honest and vulnerable, demonstrating the group's emotional
growth and maturity since their last record.
The first single "In Kind", hits the pinnacle of the group's songwriting as a four piece. Written live, it is a layered and emotionally raw saga. The second single, "Amends", is a strong contrast, and shows the group's exploration into electronic and dance
music. Filling out the 12" are two exclusive tracks that explore the textured and atmospheric side of the band - the subtly percussive "Near Enough" and the mesmerizing "A Dawn in Me".
With In Kind // Amends, BRAIDS marks an exciting new partnership with Montreal-based label Arbutus Records. Arbutus will also be releasing BRAIDS' sophomore LP, due out Fall 2013.
"The quartet's bracing debut Native Speaker is almost Inception-like in its warping of reality, equally tactile and dissolute, cerebral and surreal and ultimately haunting for its refusal to answer questions the same way twice."
"It's heady music about the body and its imperatives. And it's every bit as mesmerizing and vertiginous as desire can be."

Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesizer, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (Lead guitar), and Elliott Williams (Keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals) .
Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and four in total, with several million combined sales. Their debut album The Back Room was released in 2005. It contained the hits Munich and Blood and the following year received a Mercury Prize nomination.
Their follow-up album An End Has a Start went to number 1 in the UK Album Chart in June 2007 and earned the band a Brit Awards nomination for best British Band. It also spawned another Top 10 hit single, Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors. The band's third album, In This Light and on This Evening, was released in October 2009 and went straight to number 1 in the UK Album Chart. The band released their fourth studio album, The Weight of Your Love, in July 2013.
Alongside their critical acclaim and strong success in the charts, Editors have consistently enjoyed sold out tours and numerous headlining festival slots. Death SongThe Black Angels - Austin's psych rock masters - have confirmed details for their upcoming album, 'Death Song.,' the five-piece's first full-length release in four years.
Written and recorded in large part during the recent election cycle, the music on 'Death Song' serves as part protest, part emotional catharsis in a climate dominated by division, anxiety and unease. "Currency," a strong contender for the heaviest song the band has ever put to wax, meditates on the governing role the monetary system plays in our lives, while slow-building psychedelic earworm "Half Believing" questions the nature and confusing realities of devotion.
Recorded between Seattle and Austin, 'Death Song' features production from Phil Ek (Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes, The Shins). The 11-track collection offers a sharply honed elaboration on their signature sound - menacing fuzz guitar and cutting wordplay, steeped in a murky hallucinatory dream.
Since forming in Austin in 2004, The Black Angels have become standard-bearers for modern psych-rock, and the New York Times has said they "play psychedelic rock as if the 1960s never ended, and they are absolute masters of it".
The band has toured with Queens of the Stone Age, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Black Keys + more, and played festivals such as Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, Primavera, Harvest Fest, Coachella and Bonnaroo. Two of the band members co-founded Levitation Festival (formerly Austin Psych Fest) in 2008, which has since grown into one of the best-reviewed and expertly-curated festivals in the country.LP 1

BabyFreedom often begins from terror, and White Hinterland's third album, Baby, addresses the fear
that comes along with breaking out of established rituals, or leaving a comfortable place, and
striking out into the unknown. Four years after her profile-raising release, Kairos(2010), Casey
Dienel aka White Hinterland has taken the gloves off and knuckled down to produce a deep,
dark, heady mix of songs. After two and a half years of writing and recording material in
Montreal and Portland, OR, Dienel moved back in to her family home in Scituate, MA. There
she forged a new aesthetic, spending five months building her own studio, The Glades, in her
parents' basement - the same space where she practiced piano and vocal lessons as a child.
Determined to helm her new album, Dienel spent months studying production, poring over
YouTube tutorials about Protools, mic'ing techniques and other minutiae.
Armed with this self-taught skill and her new studio, Dienel set forth to subvert the existing
power structure of male producer as svengali and female artist as figurehead (see: Billy
Corgan/Courtney Love, Timbaland/Aaliyah, Phil Spector/The Ronettes). She created her own,
new path on Baby, which showcases her as a singer/songwriter/producer who has only become
bolder and more resolute over the past three-plus years. Calling in her friends as pinch hitters,
Dienel worked acclaimed musicians Sean Carey (Bon Iver, S. Carey), Neal Morgan (Joanna
Newsom, Bill Callahan), and Cole Kamen-Green (BeyoncÉ).
On her first four records, Dienel projected her fears and fantasies onto imaginary characters,
role play, and lush atmospherics. If Kairos was a work of atmosphere, then Baby sits at the
opposite end of that spectrum. Baby is about song craft. It is forceful, rooted in the physicality
of the voice, percussion and piano, and it is about getting straight to the point. Where her earlier
work occasionally showcased a strong Joni Mitchell influence, on new songs like "David" she
finds herself in Fiona Apple territory. Her lifelong love of R&B and gospel also comes to the fore,
these resonant styles complement and contrast the sharp dynamic shifts, booming drums, and
blasts of brass. On Metronome, Baby's centerpiece and most assertive track, she declares, All
day long I'm a boss. She's not asking for someone to serve as a steadying influence, but instead
requiring that it's necessary to keep up with her. It is the past three years of her life distilled into
song: joy, heartbreak, frustration, longing, disappointment, anger, and loss accumulated, poured
out and reborn in this new, unflinching release.1. Wait Until Dark

180g Audiophile Vinyl Reissue
Remastered To High Definition 192kHz/24-bit Audio For Maximum Fidelity
Celebrating four decades of decibels, KISS, Mercury Records and UMe proudly announce reissuing the legendary KISS albums on 180g audiophile vinyl. Remastered to high definition 192kHz/24-bit audio for maximum fidelity, these albums have never sounded so amazing and now
vinyl collectors will get what they've been demanding. All posters, sleeve art, stickers, etc that appeared in the original LP release where applicable have
been faithfully reproduced for the KISS Army.
With the massive success of their previous album, the experimental Bob Ezrin-produced Destroyer (which contained the surprise ballad hit Beth), Kiss could have taken the safe route and continued in that direction -- or return to the raw hard rock of their first four albums. They chose the latter. Hooking back up with Eddie Kramer, the producer of their 1975 breakthrough release Alive! and their very first demo, Kiss rented out the Nanuet Star Theater in upstate New York to record their next album, Rock and Roll Over. With a more direct, in-your-face production, Rock and Roll Over is one of Kiss' most consistent records. Two of the album's best tracks became hit singles -- the sleazy hard rocker Calling Dr. Love and an acoustic ballad that was originally intended for Rod Stewart, Hard Luck Woman (later covered by country star Garth Brooks). But like all other classic rock albums, the lesser-known material is often just as strong -- I Want You and Makin' Love became concert staples over the years, while Mr. Speed is one of the most underrated songs in Kiss' catalogue. Also included are the fan favorites Take Me, Ladies Room, Love 'Em and Leave 'Em, and the original version of See You in Your Dreams, which was later re-recorded for Gene Simmons' 1978 solo album.

Full CircleLegacy Recordings will release FULL CIRCLE, the first new studio album in over ten years from American music icon Loretta Lynn. Produced by Patsy Lynn Russell and John Carter Cash, and recorded at the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee, FULL CIRCLE takes listeners on a journey through Loretta's musical story, from the Appalachian folk songs and gospel music she learned as a child, to new interpretations of her classic hits and country standards, to songs newly-written for the project.
Drawing inspiration from personal memories and deep connections to American music, Lynn's 13 new recordings capture the essence of these songs in intimate new performances. FULL CIRCLE is Loretta's first album of new recordings since Van Lear Rose, her 2004 collaboration with Jack White, which took home a pair of Grammys including Best Country Album of the Year. It is also volume one of the Cash Cabin Recordings, a series of new album projects imagined and created at the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Highlights from FULL CIRCLE include "Lay Me Down," a duet with Willie Nelson; "Everything It Takes," featuring guest vocals from Elvis Costello; "Whispering Sea," a new version of the first song Loretta ever wrote; and soulful new renditions of some of Lynn's classic tunes, including rousing renditions of "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" and "Fist City." The album also includes traditional Appalachian songs from Loretta's childhood such as "Black Jack David" and "I Never Will Marry." At 83 years old, Lynn's voice sounds as powerful as ever, and this new material only adds to her legend as a performer.
Lynn struggled to balance family and her music career and is still going strong over 50 years later. Loretta Lynn has long been established as the undisputed Queen of Country Music, with more than 50 years of recording and touring to her name. A self-taught guitarist and songwriter, Lynn was one of the most distinctive performers in Nashville in the 1960s and 1970s. She shook up Nashville by writing her own songs, many of which tackled boundary-pushing topics drawn from her own life experiences as a wife and mother. "Coal Miner's Daughter," "Fist City" and "Don't Come Home A' Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)" are just three of 16 country No. 1 singles.
Lynn is also one of the most awarded musicians of all time. She has been inducted into more music Halls of Fame than any female recording artist, including The Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and was the first woman to be named the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year in 1972. Pick Me UpTRUTH & SALVAGE CO.'s second album, PICK ME UP (Megaforce/Sony RED), is a work that powerfully builds on their stirring blend of rock and Americana introduced on their acclaimed 2010 self-titled debut album. Distinguished by their four lead vocalists and five songwriters, plus soaring four-part harmonies and a strong guitar-keyboard meld, the band co-produced the album this time around with Jon Ashley, while longtime band cohort Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses) handled the mix. It is a joyous tour de force recorded at Echo Mountain studio in Asheville, NC that features 12 original tracks and a cover of Joe South's Grammy-winning 1968 hit "Games People Play." Opening with the plaintive "The Bad Times," the album shifts into high gear with "Silver Lining" and keeps the highlights coming with such songs as "Appalachian Hilltop," "Bird On The Wing," "I'm Not Your Boyfriend," the title track and the rollicking "So Sad."
True to its title PICK ME UP, this is an album that soars. Tim Jones says, "We liked the triple meaning of 'pick me up,' how you could not only be asking someone for a ride, or literally encouraging someone to pick up the album, but also how it's a metaphorical lift, which we were feeling we needed throughout the process." Walker Young adds, "Lyrically we wanted that song to have an inspiring message, it's talking about hope and perseverance in the face of loneliness and just the challenges of everyday life. The sonic mix we ended up getting matches the vibe perfectly, I think. It's definitely a feel-good album we were going for joyous revelry, music that would inspire the heart and mind."
Scott Kinnebrew says the time between their first and second albums helped them grow: "We have had, really, four years since recording our first record and we have been playing our asses off. So we are better players." Adam Grace elaborates: "For this record, we just wanted to record what we do live onstage every night. We kept things loose, had a bunch of fun, and just played and sung our hearts out. The result is a record that shows the real chemistry we share. You can hear it oozing from every song."1. Once Upon a Hell of a Time...Enigmatic singer-songwriter and Canada's own rock'n'roll son, Matt Mays returns with a brand new studio album, his sixth, Once Upon a Hell of a Time. Matt co-produced the record with collaborator Loel Campbell (Wintersleep). This new album follows up the award-winning Coyote, which landed Matt a 2014 JUNO Award for Rock Album of the Year.
Constantly on the move, Matt recorded Once Upon a Hell of a Time all over North America with sessions in California, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New York.
"The full album has a pretty strong theme or feeling and I wanted that to come across right away," says Matt. "This is party rock for the heartbroken. And you can't leave a party short of tunes, or better yet, you can't leave the sad and lonely folks with just one song to cry to. So, why just release one song when you can leak four?!"
After departing the seminal alt-country collective The Guthries back in 2002, Matt alternated between solo projects (his self-titled debut, the faux soundtrack When the Angels Make Contact) and band projects (the now legendary Matt Mays & El Torpedo record and 2008's Terminal Romance). Following the dissolution of Matt Mays & El Torpedo in 2009, Matt released Coyote in 2012.LP 1

For The DementedPressed On 180-Gram Colored Vinyl
Annihilator's brand-new album "For The Demented" promises to pack a premier punch. The thrash/heavy metal legends are set to release their 16th studio album via Neverland Music.
Since 1989, Canada's ANNIHILATOR has not stopped putting out records and touring the world. Despite the ever-changing climate of the Metal World (and releasing a series of "different" Metal records with various lineups along the way), Jeff Waters and company have consistently delivered strong albums since the band's debut "Alice In Hell." Then there was 1990's best-selling "Never, Neverland," 1995's "King of The Kill," "Schizo Deluxe" in 2005 and many other critically-acclaimed releases up until 2015's "Suicide Society." The 'under-the-radar' influence of this band and writer/guitarist/vocalist Jeff Waters has been felt throughout the entire realm of the metal world by a ton of well-known musicians and bands; that influence even stretching into the hard rock and instrumentalist genre. ANNIHILATOR's main man Jeff Waters, in his usual humble manner, offers this in response: "ANNIHILATOR's music has been influenced by a good hundred of my favorite bands and musicians; you can hear their contributions to what I have been doing all throughout ANNIHILATOR's catalog. It's a bonus and an honor when bands and musicians I love mention that I had something to do with their playing or songs!"
Which all leads to the fact that ANNIHILATOR'S 16th studio release, "For The Demented", is certainly their most complete and definitive statement yet. "It was time to analyze what a lot of fans over the years have kept telling me," says Waters. "It was time to sit down and figure out "why" ANNIHILATOR's early "thrash-meets-melodic" caught the ears of so many AND to try to sweep the "fan" part of my writing/playing/singing out the door and welcome back the mostly-original Waters writing that was to be the first four ANNIHILATOR albums." Waters didn't venture back alone, while looking back through ANNIHILATOR'S history. "I was well aware that trying to recapture the past usually fails, or at least won't come close. So, I decided to bring in fresh ears, both musically and physically with Rich Hinks, my bassist for the last few years. And doing most all of the records by myself, including writing and playing most all on my own, as well as mixing, mastering, engineering, etc , well it can become routine and can often hinder you from being objective and more creative. Rich came in and co-wrote the music with me, as well as co-produced the beginning stages of the record. His background of classic thrash metal meets a newer "math" metal style was the perfect combination for me to simply ask, "what do you think of this?" He would most-often reply with "not the ANNIHILATOR style I like", so we would keep going until we both felt that core ANNIHILATOR riffing and writing style presented itself.
"Bottom line, "For The Demented" captures some feel from ANNIHILATOR's 1985-87 demos mixed with the first 4 ANNIHILATOR records. Back to the thrash meets melody but with some pure Waters guitar riffing, up-graded lead guitar shredding and vocals back to the demo-days meets the "King of The Kill" record. Lyrically, I placed a theme on the record: the human mind and all of its glory, complexity, diversity, weaknesses, and insanity! Pretty much the craziness of the music is matched by the lyrics." "I think Metal Fans are going to hear much of what they have been waiting for from ANNIHILATOR."1. Twisted Lobotomy

American V: A Hundred HighwaysThe ethical questions surrounding this final album in the American Recordings series are as unavoidable as they are, ultimately, peripheral. While the
vocal tracks were recorded in the months just prior to Johnny Cash's passing in September 2003, the arrangements weren't undertaken until two years
later. And though producer Rick Rubin had become a trusted friend, the Man in Black wasn't around to approve or disapprove, let alone guide, the final
sessions. However, if the pure power of these recordings doesn't quiet the skeptics, nothing will. With Heartbreakers Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench
and slide guitar session pro Smokey Hormel on board (all three of whom appear on earlier Cash albums), along with guitarists Matt Sweeney and Johnny
Polansky, the sound is stately and acoustic, but rarely staid, even as the dynamics of earlier recordings in the series are absent. Instead, the songs have
a measured, elegiac intensity, the sound of musicians choosing their notes carefully and making just the right choices.
The songs Cash sings are, unsurprisingly, confessional and reflective: his mortality and his mistakes, his maker and his salvation, and the loss of his wife
June and the end of his career may have weighed on his mind, but in these songs he both embodies and transcends his personal history. On God's
Gonna Cut You Down, as the musicians clap and stomp behind him, his voice cuts through the air like that same avenging hand. On the new original
Like the 309--the last song Cash ever wrote--he cops to being short of breath, and that voice becomes a metaphor for what each of us will one day face.
On Gordon Lightfoot's If You Read My Mind, Rubin flirts with overwhelming the damp bittersweetness of Cash's phrasing in tasteful atmospherics, but
the voice is implacable, hitting and finding notes one never expected he'd have the will to find. Likewise, it's hard to believe this is his first recording of Ian
Tyson's Four Strong Winds; the elemental narrative seems to have been written for him. Two songs, however, Cash has recorded before: the bornagain
hymn I Came to Believe and the final spiritual, I'm Free from the Chain Gang Now. The latter especially is a definitive testament, as is his version
of Bruce Springsteen's Further On (Up the Road). One sunny morning we'll rise, I know / And I'll meet you further on up the road, he sings. If only,
John, if only. --Roy Kasten1. Help Me (Album Version)

Tell 'Em I'm Gone
First Album In Five Years From The 2014 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Inductee
10 Brand-New Recordings, Including 5 New Compositions By Yusuf
Features Collaborations With Rick Rubin, Richard Thompson, Charlie Musselwhite, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Tinariwen, And Matt Sweeney
Tell 'Em I'm Gone is the first new Yusuf album since 2009's
acclaimed Roadsinger. Recorded all over the world,
including Los Angeles, Dubai, Brussels, and London, the
album features 10 brand-new studio recordings, including five
originals and five carefully-chosen cover songs. Tell 'Em I'm
Gone features musical contributions from Richard Thompson,
blues harmonica legend Charlie Musselwhite, singer-songwriter
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Tuareg group Tinariwen, and guitarist
Matt Sweeney, as well as production from Rick Rubin.
Each track on Tell 'Em I'm Gone is threaded together by the
themes of freedom and peace that have prevailed through more
than four decades of Yusuf's musical career. On this album,
Yusuf returns to the roots of his musical inspiration: American
blues and R&B, using these genres to explore the universality
of the desire for freedom with songs that recall the spirit of his
earliest days as a nascent singer-songwriter in London.
"What's powerful and profound, to me, is the overall message
which emerged, lyrically," Yusuf says of the new album.
"It suddenly stared me in the face: the struggle for Freedom!
My God, isn't that what most human beings dream of?
"I hope this record will help revive the spirit of Freedom
and re-kindle some of the excitement of those amazing days,
when every musical door seemed to point us a way out of our
imprisonment," Yusuf says.
Stunning originals like "I Was Raised In Babylon" and "Cat And
The Dog Trap" plus covers of blues-pop standards ("Big Boss
Man," "You Are My Sunshine") and a moving version of Edgar
Winter's "Dying To Live" find Yusuf as strong of voice and as
engaging a performer as ever before.
Having first found fame as a teenage folk singer in 1960s
England, Cat Stevens gained worldwide acclaim for his
intimate and affecting works in the 1970s. His compositions
"Wild World," "Peace Train," "Father and Son" and "Morning
Has Broken" remain staples of the folk genre. Following a
conversion to the Islamic faith in 1978, Stevens retired from
the music business to pursue important causes in the
Muslim community; 2006 saw Yusuf's celebrated return to pop
music with the album An Other Cup.1. I Was Raised In Babylon (Yusuf)
