Midnight Sun (Awaiting Repress)Moth To A Flame, the album's transportative closer, finds Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl in full psychedelic guise, echoing the minor-key atmospherics of Pink Floyd's Breathe alongside a celestial chorus and mercurial slide guitar.
Midnight Sun follows 2010's Mark Ronson-produced Jardin Du Luxembourg and the same year's homegrown Acoustic Sessions.
In more recent times, the duo have toured with fellow psych voyagers The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala, while Lennon found time to release Mystical Weapons with Deerhoof's Greg Saunier and continue his role as Musical Director of his mother's Plastic Ono Band. Muhl, meanwhile, immersed herself in the folk world with Kemp & Eden.

Boarding House ReachBOARDING HOUSE REACH is the new solo album from Jack White, and is a testament to the breadth of the artist's creative power and his bold artistic ambition. This new material finds Jack White expanding his musical palate with perhaps his most ambitious work thus far, a collection of songs that are simultaneously timeless and modern. Written and conceived while holed up in a spartan apartment with literally no outside world distractions, White exclusively used the same kind of gear he had when he was 15 years old (a quarter-inch four-track tape recorder, a simple mixer, and the most basic of instrumentation). The album explores a remarkable range of sonic terrain -- crunching rock 'n' roll, electro and hard funk, proto punk, hip hop, gospel blues, and even country -- all remapped and born anew to fit White's matchless vision and sense of restless experimentation.
BOARDING HOUSE REACH was produced by Jack White III and recorded at Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN, Sear Sound in New York, NY, and Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, CA. The album was mixed by Bill Skibbe, Joshua V. Smith, and White at Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN. The album features White on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars and drums, organ, and synthesizers. He's backed by a remarkable new lineup of musicians that includes: drummer Louis Cato (BeyoncÉ, Q-Tip, John Legend, Mariah Carey), bassists Charlotte Kemp Muhl (The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger) and NeonPhoenix (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z), synthesizer players DJ Harrison and Anthony Brew Brewster (Fishbone, The Untouchables), keyboardists Neal Evans (Soulive, Talib Kweli, John Scofield) and Quincy McCrary (Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Pitbull), percussionists Bobby Allende (David Byrne, Marc Anthony) and Justin PorÉe (Ozomatli), and backing vocalists Esther Rose and Ann & Regina McCrary of Nashville's beloved gospel trio, The McCrary Sisters, as well as longtime collaborators like drummers Daru Jones (Nas, Talib Kweli) and Carla Azar (Autolux, Depeche Mode, Doyle Bramhall II). Singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking also appears, contributing a stirring spoken word performance to the album's Abulia and Akrasia.
Jack White is a 12-time GRAMMY® Award-winner and 35-time nominee. His most recent full-length release, 2016's JACK WHITE ACOUSTIC RECORDINGS: 1998-2016 (Third Man Records/Columbia), collected 26 acoustic-based songs from throughout White's wide-ranging musical career, spanning album tracks, B-sides, remixes, alternate versions, and previously unreleased material from The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and White's groundbreaking solo career. The collection debuted at #1 on Billboard's Vinyl Albums chart upon its September 2016 release - a position also achieved by 2012's RIAA gold certified solo debut, BLUNDERBUSS, and 2014's chart-topping LAZARETTO, both of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 as well.1. Acoustic SessionsAcoustic Sessions is the debut from The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger (Sean Lennon & Charlotte Kemp Muhl) on their own home-grown label Chimera Music. Like a chimera itself, a mythical two-headed creature, the G.O.A.S.T.T. work from one heart despite having two separate minds. Acoustic Sessions shows their love of quirky and whimsical '60s folk pop, reminiscent at times of Syd Barrett, the Incredible String Band and Simon & Garfunkel. G.O.A.S.T.T. weaves narratives around metaphysical geography of their own devising, finding a surrealist beauty in the mundane. Like Dali's imaginary landscapes, their world is a beguiling wonderland that makes for one stunning debut.1. Lavender Road

Disturbing WildlifeInvisible Familiars has announced their debut album, Disturbing Wildlife, will be released on Other Music Recording Co. In conjunction with today's LP reveal, the band premiered album track "Heavenly All" - featuring Nels Cline on guitar - via Bullet. Invisible Familiars signed to Other Music this spring, releasing the 7" single "Clever Devil" b/w "Digger's Invitation" in June. Stereogum called it, "T. Rex in a funhouse of horrors," advising, "Let it cast a spell on you." Invisible Familiars is led by Jared Samuel, a New York City-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has long made his living playing music and supporting a variety of NYC artists - from Sharon Jones to Martha Wainwright, and most recently, Cibo Matto and the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger.
Samuel retreated to the seclusion of a houseboat docked in Jamaica Bay to write the music and words that would become Disturbing Wildlife. It was the first time I'd ever spent more than one day completely by myself, said Samuel, wondering just exactly what is real and then, ultimately, feeling fine. New single Heavenly All is a lyrical treasure map to the transformative and often playful experience of solitude: talking to myself again, cravin heavy metal. Back on land, Samuel enlisted good friend Michael Leonhart (Steely Dan/Yoko Ono) to co-produce the record and gathered a striking group of musicians to help perform it, including Robbie Mangano, Tim Kuhl, Jolie Holland, Yuka Honda & Miho Hatori (Cibo Matto), Nels Cline, Ryan Sawyer, Stuart Bogie (Antibalas), and many more.
Disturbing Wildlife is a record that slinks and slithers through time, defying the notion of genre and embracing the risk of feeling. It never lets the listener pin it down and, instead, returns the favor, holding you still between the sometimes-dream of existence and the exquisite power of Samuel's compositions.1. Clever Devil

Monolith Of PhobosTwo worlds have collided, and what glorious and odd worlds they are. After Primus and The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger completed a successful summer tour, Les Claypool and Sean Lennon decided to combine their abstract talents into a project called The Claypool Lennon Delirium. Their efforts thus far have spawned the full-length release Monolith of Phobos.
Released via ATO records, the album takes listeners on a stimulating psychedelic journey through the cosmos.
"Sean is a musical mutant after my own heart," said Claypool. "He definitely reflects his genetics-not just the sensibilities of his dad but also the abstract perspective and unique approach of his mother. It makes for a glorious freak stew."
Over the course of six weeks or so, the two wrote and recorded a total of ten songs with both of them sharing various vocal and instrumental responsibilities, going beyond their core instruments of bass and guitar.
Claypool explained, "Usually I play the drums and percussion on my records but Sean has such a different feel than I do, it just made more sense for him to man the kit on most of the tunes on this project. I took the helm at my old vintage API console and let him bang away. His drumming is like a cross between Ringo and Nick Mason. But I think folks will be most surprised by what a monster guitar player he is, especially when you prod him a bit."
In astronomical terms, the Monolith of Phobos is a large rock on Mars's Phobos moon. As the phrase implies, this album is an old-school approach to a psychedelic space rock record.1. The Monolith Of Phobos
