The Graduate (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

The Graduate is an album of songs from the soundtrack of Mike Nichols' movie The Graduate, featuring many songs from the folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel as well as several instrumental pieces by Dave Grusin. Originally released on January 21, 1968, the album was produced by Teo Macero.

Although the album features two versions of the acclaimed Mrs. Robinson, neither is the full version as featured on Bookends. The first is an instrumental, while the second is abbreviated, tapering off as it does in the film. However, the other major song of the album, The Sound of Silence is used three times in the film.

    Bookends

Ranked 233/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Simon and Garfunkel's classic album Bookends, released in 1968, marked the duo's emergence as both a brilliant creative force and one of their era's biggest-selling recording acts.

Bookends, which arrived on the heels of Simon and Garfunkel's high-profile role on the soundtrack of the film The Graduate, is a brilliantly realized tour de force that captures the pleasures, tensions and fears of its era as vividly as any '60s album. Simon's literate, emotionally complex songwriting is matched by the ambitious production, which elevates the fiery folk-rockers A Hazy Shade of Winter and Save the Life of My Child, the cinematic flights America and Fakin' It, the intimate ballads Old Friends and Bookends Theme, and the deceptively whimsical Mrs. Robinson and At the Zoo.

Sundazeds exact vinyl replica of this harmony-rich classic is sourced from the original stereo master tapes, making this release an essential component of any 60s pop/rock collection.

    The Graduate (Speakers Corner)

With his film The Graduate, which was crowned with an Oscar and five Golden Globes, director Mike Nichols created far more than just the story of the erotic initiation of the college graduate Benjamin. Not only the scenario but also the production modalities were revolutionary. For the very first time the crusted morals of the American upper class were attacked by means of film, an Alfa Romeo - a European car - was advertised most effectively, and a soundtrack was put together from already existent, successful pop numbers. No words are really necessary about the music, since numbers such as Sound Of Silence, Mrs. Robinson and Scarborough Fair have entered into the annals of musical culture ever since they were used in the film. It is astounding to note how seamlessly the various works fit snugly into the film's context, as though they had been specially written for the scenes.

This soundtrack is a monument to Dustin Hoffman, who played his first big role in the film, and it catapulted Simon & Garfunkel right to the top of the list of ballad singers. But it also recalls to memory the peppy, instrumental insertion numbers by Dave Grusin, who virtually fell into oblivion after all the hype about this provocative movie.

    Musicians:

    • Paul Simon (guitar, vocal)

    • Art Garfunkel (vocal)

    • Dave Grusin

    About Speakers Corner

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Speakers Corner all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existant tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasise that Speakers Corner Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle. We have one digital recording in our catalogue (Alan Parsons / Eye In The Sky"), but even in this particular case we used the analogue tapes for cutting.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects - excluding the exception above - and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Khalid has been surrounded by music his entire life. He grew up in a military family, his mother is a singer with the Army and he was introduced to music at an early age. Khalid spent most of his childhood in Germany before moving to Watertown, NY for High School. The summer going into his senior year of High School, Khalid's family was ordered to relocate to El Paso, TX. By 18-years-old, Khalid, who is classically vocal trained, had drawn on his experiences with moving often and the unique experience of growing up having lived in two continents and parlayed them into the creation of his viral smash, "Location" which helped him to land a major label deal with Right Hand Music Group/RCA Records. Khalid released "Location" before his high school graduation and it garnered over 1.52 million plays in less than two months, along with critical praise from music tastemakers such as Pigeons & Planes, Earmilk, and more.

    The Graduation Ceremony (Awaiting Repress)

Co-produced with John Alagia, The Graduation Ceremony marks Jospeh Arthurs first solo album since Nuclear Daydream (2006) and follow-up to Fistful of Mercy, his 2010 collaboration with Ben Harper and Dhani Harrison. I wanted to make something simple, says Arthur, who originally planned to release the project as a duo with the albums drummer, the legendary Jim Keltner (Bob Dylan, John Lennon). The Graduation Ceremony began as a minimally produced, acoustic album of classic songwriting that grew to be an elegantly orchestrated, haunting body of work.

Joseph Arthurs music has been described as a dynamic swirl of noise that somehow appears magically around him (NPR), emotional (but tuneful) exorcisms (Entertainment Weekly), and lush, poetic, squalling, spiritual, and strange. Just like life (Boston Globe). Vanity Fair has hailed him as one of our most emotionally revealing and talented singer-songwriters. Michael Stipe once told the Los Angeles Times, Jo is one of those rare writer-performers where you get the sense, whatever you believe, that something greater is being channeled through his music and voice. It touches something very deep and universal.

    Temporary Room

Stagnant Pools are Bryan and Douglass Enas, two brothers (21 and 22) from Bloomington, Indiana. With just one guitar and a drum kit, they make music which the Chicago Reader describes as "drone-heavy, slate-gray art-rock that should appeal to fans of Disappears, Joy Division, and Sonic Youth records from back when they were still actually scary."

After a couple of DIY releases, the sibling duo spent one day in the studio recording their debut full-length Temporary Room. With a tour van as a recent graduation present, and shows under their belt with EMA and labelmates Japandroids, they're releasing Temporary Room and then hitting the road. 180 gram vinyl pressing.

    Researching The Blues

Redd Kross is back and delivering their signature brand of genuine rock 'n' roll with a vengeance. Their Merge release Researching the Blues is the band's first new album in 15 years. Researching the Blues features 10 new songs clocking in at just under 32 minutes. With songs written by Jeff McDonald and produced and mixed by Steven McDonald, the album is by far the band's favorite record. Steve says, "It has the most singular artistic vision of any record we've done. It's just 10 really fucking awesome songs that have the ability to move you in many different ways."

Founded 34 years ago in Los Angeles during the first wave of LA punk rock by brothers Jeff and Steven McDonald (then respectively 15 and 11 years old), Redd Kross cut their teeth opening for Black Flag at a middle school graduation party. Their debut recordings caught the attention of Rodney Bingenheimer, who quickly became a fan as he spun their Ramones-inspired songs like "Annette's Got The Hits" and "I Hate My School" on the world-famous KROQ.

In 2006, Jeff and Steven announced their reunion with the "classic Neurotica" line-up, joined once again by guitarist Robert Hecker (It's Ok) and drummer Roy McDonald (The Muffs). Redd Kross have been playing to enthusiastic audiences at sold-out select shows and festivals such as the Azkena Festival; Coachella; The HooDoo Gurus' Invitational, "Dig It Up"; All Tomorrow's Parties; and Pop MontrÉal.

    19

19 is the debut studio album by English singer-songwriter Adele. It was originally released on January 28, 2008, through XL Recordings. Following Adele's graduation from the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in May 2006, she began publishing songs and recorded a three-song demo for a class project and gave it to a friend. The friend posted the demo on Myspace, where it became very successful and led to interest from XL Recordings. This led to Adele signing a recording contract with the label and providing vocals for Jack Peñate, during this session for Peñate's song she met producer Jim Abbiss, who would go on to produce the majority of her debut album.

Adele wrote most of the album's material solely but did work with a select few writers and producers including Jim Abbiss, Eg White, and Sacha Skarbek. Their collaborations created a blue-eyed soul album with lyrics describing heartbreak and relationship. Upon release, 19 received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the singer's vocals and noted her as having the potential to become among the most respected and inspiring international artists of her generation. 19 also won and was nominated for numerous accolades including a Mercury Prize, and the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. The second single, Chasing Pavements, also won the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards.

Four singles were released from the album, with Chasing Pavements and Make You Feel My Love reaching the top ten on the UK Singles Chart and the former becoming Adele's first Billboard Hot 100 entry. 19 debuted at number one on the UK charts during its release and was certified eight times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) with sales of over 2.4 million copies. Peaking at number four on the US Billboard 200 in 2012, the album has also sold over 3 million copies in the United States and an estimated 7 million copies worldwide.

    Ape School (Discontinued)

Michael Johnson arrived in Philadelphia a swamp-ape from the Florida panhandle to lead music technology studies at a downtown arts university. Instead, he discovered in its hallowed halls the derelict crown-jewel of archaic analog electronics with which he would forge his image of the Ape School. Armed with the Moog Modular synthesizer he helped revive-- just the fourth born and installed by the hands of Robert Moog 40 years earlier in 1965-- Johnson conjures original songs from beyond his prior tenures in Kurt Heasley's Lilys, and Sub Pop's Holopaw, using the Modular to weave lush motorik dreamsound throughout dynamic instrumentation and his distinct croon.

This second one-man-does-all album by Johnson--the first to use the animistic moniker-- marries primitive songs with incorporeal sound: glamatic pop explorations, navigated by studio light, coalesced over time, wine, fallouts, and Rundgren-style self-control.

From the resounding onset of Wail to God, to the song's oscillator outro barely two minutes later, the tonal breadth and sonic fluidity of Ape School is clear. A song like Did What I Did flirts with pop sensibility, but coheres in subtle feedback when repetition would normally devolve it to redundance. Elsewhere, as on My Intention and Deathstomp, Johnson commits to full mechanical shredding and focused romps of analog rock glory awash in system buzz. Other, more spacious moments like That's OK, It's Over, and The Underground reveal the songs' subtle instrumental basis, and bare the accidentally clever, eloquent lyrics of his elastic tenor.

Mixed in Jamaican Brooklyn with Michael Pecchio in a bath of reverb, delay, tape echo, smoke, mirrors, orange juice, and cayenne pepper, Ape School has finally congealed. Upon graduation from Primate U, this album, initially intended for release by co-conspirator Alfred Daedelus Darlington, finds a home at Ninja Tune's Counter Records.

With a band of student human musicians rescued from the confines of musical education, Ape School has opened its doors to limited faculty enrollment. Composed of previous cohorts in Lilys, Holopaw, Human Television, and beyond, the live Ape School incarnation takes one monkey's primordial creations on summer vacation to civilization. Shostakovitch: Cello Concerto, Symphony No. 1 (Speakers Corner)

Dmitri Shostakovich: Cello Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major op. 107; Symphony No. 1 in F minor, op. 10

That every beginning has its magic may almost have become forgotten these days, when true world premieres of musical works are almost non-existent. But this special magic still remains in the present recording of Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No. 1, which was first heard with these artists in 1959. Shostakovich dedicated the work to his friend Mstislav Rostropovich who committed the virtuoso solo part to memory in only four days, before the concert took place. The cellist tackles the work dauntlessly right from the beginning and swirls the burlesque staccatos through space. With a lovely sound and quite in accordance with the title of the movement, Espressivo, the soloist lets the melody breathe, supported by wonderfully sonorous orchestral writing, answered by calls on the solo horn.

The Finale makes itself heard with a robust inflection, which the soloist counters with an imperturbable steadfastness of rhythm that not only demands refinement but also playing in the top regions and double-stopped harmonics.

That this recording is indisputably a work of reference is underlined by its coupling with the First Symphony, which is well worth listening to. Shostakovich composed this work as his graduation piece at the Leningrad Conservatory more than 30 years earlier.

    • Mstislav Rostropovich and the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Eugene Ormandy

Recording: November 1959 at Broadwood Hotel, Philadelphia, USA, by Stan Tonkel

    Bones

On The Delta Saints' new album, Bones, their first for Loud & Proud Records, the Nashville-based band have stripped their roots/blues sound down to its essence, having rearranged the elements into something uniquely their own. Steeped in rock 'n' roll's building blocks - country, R&B, soul and gospel - The Delta Saints' second full-length effort explores influences like Jack White, The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, Band of Horses and Led Zeppelin. Producer/engineer/mixer and Third Man Records alum, Eddie Spear [Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, Neil Young] provided a ghostly, psychedelic atmosphere at Nashville's Sputnik Sound studios, yielding a sound unlike anything they have created before.

"We got to the point where what we were recording and playing had veered from what we were listening to and loving on our turntables, which can lead to discontent," said Louisiana-born singer/lyricist Ben Ringel, who co-founded the band almost eight years ago with fellow Belmont University student, Kansas native bassist David Supica. Soon after, they were joined by Tennessee-bred guitarist Dylan Fitch and later, after a health scare with the band's former harmonica player, enlisted Louisville resident and keyboardist, Nate Kremer, who was added to the lineup only two weeks before a two month long European tour.

Taking a novel approach of writing songs spontaneously in the studio, The Delta Saints were challenged to create in the moment and as a result, Bones is their most adventurous effort yet. The album is a collection of eclectic songs, beginning with The White Stripes-meets-Led Zeppelin fuzz-toned garage-rock blast of "Sometimes I Worry." The spare, spooky strains of "Butte la Rose" tell the band's tale of a Louisiana town purposely flooded and displaced five years ago to save New Orleans. The Grapes of Wrath drama of "Dust," based on Ringel's grandfather, an East Kansas farmer, builds to a primal wail at nature with a stunning coda in which Dylan Fitch's guitar drops out and Kremer's B3 organ provides the climax. The title track, "Bones" features hoodoo organ riffs and African-influenced trance music, which came from listening to the Sahara desert African groove of Niger's Tuareg guitarist Omara "Bombino" Moctar and Mali's Tinariwen. The grindhouse honky-tonk chain gang chants of "Heavy Hammer" celebrates the work ethic in no uncertain terms, a call for unity in the wake of Ringel's frustration about getting stuck in the rat race and feeling trapped by some of life's mundane tasks. "Berlin," the first song they recorded after adding Nate on keys, started out as an instrumental penned in the title city while on tour. It eventually metamorphosed into a country twang intro and a prog-rock jam. Bones is a complete work veering between despair and apocalyptic dread.

"We're trying to push ourselves forward to do something more modern, but at the same time incorporating where we come from," explained Ringel.

"It was incredible to be able to write a song on the spot and immediately hear what it sounded like," added Supica. "It was a great way to capture the magic right when you come up with an idea, preserving that raw element. We were used to playing a song for months on the road before we recorded it. Still, on the flip side, it was absolutely terrifying to sit in the studio watching the clock tick and waiting for a song to come out. That's where (producer) Ed Spear came into play; he was so good at keeping us pointed in the right direction."

"This record was made out of both necessity and desire. We needed to be fulfilled and surprised by music again, and we also needed to fulfill that love of writing and recording again."

The Delta Saints have independently released two EPs (2010's Pray On and A Bird Called Angola), a full-length album (2012's Death Letter Jubilee) and a live disc (2014's Live at Exit/In). They have spent the last eight years touring the US averaging almost 200 shows per year, organically growing their audience, fan by fan, city by city. Major appearances include several festivals including Wakarusa, Summer Camp, Harvest, The Ride, Summerfest and The Simple Man Cruise. A testament to their mixed appeal, they have opened for such diverse acts as Blackberry Smoke, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Taj Mahal, Dickey Betts and Michael Franti & Spearhead.

The Delta Saints have also have a large international fan base having toured Europe a total of six times, selling out countless venues and playing more than 200 shows in Spain, Sweden, France, Switzerland and Germany, as well as several festivals in Holland (Moulin Blues, Ribs and Blues), Belgium (Gevarenwinkel) and Germany (Grolsch Blues Fest).

With all that they've accomplished as a hard-working group on their own, The Delta Saints have earned their graduation to industry veteran Tom Lipsky's Loud & Proud Records (which has been the home of Rush, Lynyrd Skynyrd, KISS, Robert Plant, Rob Zombie, Lenny Kravitz and The String Cheese Incident, among others).

"Don't look so tired, my dear," sings Ringel in Bones' closing track, "Berlin," echoing the band's progress. "We may be bruised, but the day is almost here."

"It's hard to see progress when you're in the middle of things," said Supica about The Delta Saints' ambitions. "We try to take stock every six months or so and look back from where we've come, from eating at McDonald's and sleeping on people's floors to staying at a Motel 6 and graduating to La Quinta. We mark our success by the hotel chain where we're staying. When we get to Marriott, we know we've made it."

Bones proves The Delta Saints are well on their way to making that reservation.

Build Me Up From Bones (Discontinued)

Sarah's third Sugar Hill Records release finds the acoustic phenom exhibiting an assured and striking musical voice, proving once again the promise of
her early acclaim. "Widely regarded as one of acoustic music's most promising young talents: a singer-songwriter and mandolin and banjo prodigy with the taste and poise to strike that rare balance of commercial and critical success. - The New York Times

Build Me Up From Bones, the third release from acclaimed 22-year-old singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sarah Jarosz, is released via
Sugar Hill Records. Build Me Up From Bones was recorded in the midst of Jarosz's final semester at the prestigious New England Conservatory (where
she graduated with honors) and a rigorous touring schedule. Following her mid-May graduation, she flew straight to Nashville to put the finishing touches
on the album. Now set to embark on an exciting new chapter of her life, the songs on Sarah Jarosz's newest release are a compelling portrait of an artist coming into her own. Over the past four years Jarosz has covered a remarkable amount of ground for someone so young. She has toured across the US,
UK and Canada, appeared on A Prairie Home Companion, and taped Austin City Limits and the BBC Series The Transatlantic Sessions. Her two previous records received high praise from outlets including Rolling Stone, USA Today, Paste, Mojo and American Songwriter.

The growth in Jarosz's songwriting is prominent on this new release. She penned nine out of the eleven tracks, and while Jarosz previously tended to write and sing in third person narratives, her new material connects in a much more personal way. Love songs such as "Build Me Up From Bones" pair vulnerability with enough mystery to allow listeners to find their own meaning. The covers she has chosen-Joanna Newsom's "The Book Of Right-On"
and Bob Dylan's "Simple Twist of Fate" reflect the breadth of her evolving influences. Build Me Up From Bones was co-produced with Sarah's longtime collaborator - GRAMMY® award-winning engineer and producer Gary Paczosa. The concept was to keep the focus of the album on a trio configuration of
Alex Hargreaves (fiddle) and Nathaniel Smith (cello) that Jarosz has been touring with since 2010. As the recording progressed, other guests were added,
including Dan Dugmore, Darrell Scott and Chris Thile, building a tasteful instrumental backdrop for Jarosz's warm and expressive vocals.

Sarah Jarosz is that rare combination of instrumental virtuosity, emotive vocals and songwriting chops. With a college degree under her belt, a stunning new release completed and a national tour beginning, she continues to chart her own unique artistic path.

    Ology

The push-and-pull that drives Gallant's music is like a pendulum swinging back and forth between genres and influences. His combination of muscular vocal acrobatics and sonic unpredictability has attracted universal tastemaker praise and a growing fan base. Complex championed the Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter as The R&B game changer, LA Times claimed, Precise writing of Frank Ocean, big vocal runs of Sam Smith, and NME predicted, the voice that will redefine R&B, while Entertainment Weekly, The Fader, Billboard, and more have shown support. Sir Elton John summed it up best saying, Gallant is gonna be huge.

Gallant has been on this pursuit since junior high. Growing up in Columbia, MD, he began tinkering on his computer and making songs after school inspired by everything from nineties R&B to classic jazz and blues. Rather than write in a journal, the music collated his feelings and emotions. He'd rarely share it with friends though. While attending NYU, he enrolled in summer school, so he could graduate early. Post-graduation and countless hours of meticulous practice later, he was finally ready to share his songs to the world at large.

His first online release If It Hurts would establish him in the blogosphere, while 2014's Zebra EP landed him on Spotify's viral charts and at the top of HypeM. Signing to Mind of a Genius in 2015 and relocating to L.A., he dove into creating what would become Ology with co-producers such as Stint. The first single Weight In Gold enjoyed its world premiere on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio show as the introductory entry in the coveted World's First segment. In less than six months, it accumulated over 6.5 million Spotify streams.
As Gallant continues on his search, he leaves a message on the path. If people can hear I'm not doing this to feed any ego or serve someone else, that's all I want, he leaves off. I'm trying to create a photo album I can look back on to see where I've overcome challenges. I'm using music as a means of self-discovery. If my songs help somebody do the same thing or realize art can help us improve ourselves, I'd be honored.

If 2005's Shallow was Pissed Jeans coping with moving out of their parents' homes, and 2007's Hope for Men their initial reaction to the mechanical lifestyle of a wage-earner, King of Jeans is their formal and uneasy acceptance of adulthood, by way of one hell of a rock record. Working with renowned producer Alex Newport (At the Drive-In, The Locust and Sepultura), Pissed Jeans have pushed further into the raw, minimal core of heavy rock music with King of Jeans. Masters of the mundane, beasts of the banal, high priests of the humdrum: these four, white, male high school graduates hardly look further than their own appendages for artistic inspiration, content to execute their own brand of brash and heavy punk music in the Joe Carducci-approved standard rock formation of guitar, bass, drums and vocals. From simple minds and simple fabrics comes the King of Jeans.

Born in Kharkov, Ukraine, Alina Simone came to the US as a daughter of political refugees after her father refused recruitment by the KGB and was blacklisted. Raised in the suburbs of Massachusetts, she moved to Austin, Texas after graduating from art school and started off singing in the doorway of an abandoned bar on Sixth Street. She quickly became known for her sparse instrumentation and raw and powerful delivery. After the release of her debut album, Placelessness (2007), Simone earned both national airplay and critical acclaim. Her 2008 album, Everyone is Crying Out to Me, Beware, covered the music of Yanka Dyagileva, the late Siberian folk-punk icon.

Make Your Own Danger promises to be Alina Simone's lushest and most fully realized work to date, with exotic touches that include flute, autoharp, horns, Brazilian drumming, and vocal loops.

    Lives and Treasure

Acrylics is the musical partnership of Molly Shea and Jason Klauber. Native to Philadelphia and downtown Manhattan, respectively, the pair began making music together while attending Ohio's Oberlin College, where they spent snowy nights in their basement droning Fender Jazzmasters in odd tunings and listening to vinyl records from New Zealand. After graduating Molly and Jason both moved to Brooklyn and decided to try something new. Acrylics started experimenting with various recording techniques and bizarre results began to emerge. Songs with folk roots grew disco branches, country skeletons wore new age skin.

They called their second album Lives and Treasure because that's just about what it cost to finish the thing. Many stories surface and vanish over the course of the album's ten tracks. The songs are concise but extremely potent, and each listen reveals something previously undiscovered.

Now Is The Time For Hearts & Flowers

Though they are often only referred to in passing, as a sort of footnote of '60s West Coast scene, Los Angeles group Hearts And Flowers were actually one of the most eclectic groups of the time, incorporating elements of psych and country into their folk-rock sound. Founded by Larry Murray, a southern transplant to LA, and a graduate of the same vibrant Southern California bluegrass scene that gave way to Byrds and Burritos, the group's 1967 debut, Now Is The Time For Hearts And Flowers, is a classic album that deserves mention in the same breath as Sweetheart Of The Rodeo or Bradley's Barn. For born-and-bred Nashvillian Chris Denney, it all began at age 9---Stealing pills from his Grandma's medicine cabinet, smoking 2 packs a day and eventually graduating to marijuana by the age of 13. It wasn't until about 5 years ago that Denney started channeling his life experiences into vivid tales of what he knows best - Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll. Denney and The Jets' debut LP, Mexican Coke was recorded and mixed in just 5 days in East Nashville on to 2" tape by Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes "Boys and Girls") and Chris Denney with help from friends Clear Plastic Masks (Serpents and Snakes/Dine Alone) who backed Denney in the studio and co-produced.

    Another Language

Since 2004, This Will Destroy You has been forging some of the world's most brutal, dynamic, and precariously visceral instrumental rock. In addition to a vigorous tour schedule, their celebrated discography and critically renowned soundtrack work for feature films and documentaries have earned them a sizable and fervent international following. Another Language, TWDY's fourth full length LP, marks their euphonious return from a prolonged vacuous dark period that threatened to break both the band and the members themselves. Rather than be stifled by their experience TWDY were atomized and subsequently made anew, emerging with a revived energy and reinforced sense of solidarity. As a result, Another Language captures the band at its most potent, honed, and utterly powerful form yet, displaying an edified unity and graduated sense of song-writing, tonal complexity, and studio prowess.

    Medicine For Birds

Singer and songwriter Angelica Garcia's journey down the rabbit hole began when she moved to Accomac, Virginia. Graduating from Los Angeles School for the Arts, the 17-year-old native Angeleno found herself living in a 200-year-old gothic brick home encircled by magnolia trees and under a blanket of bright stars. Her stepfather traded a career in the music industry for Episcopalian priesthood, and an Eastern Shore church would serve as his (and the family's) first congregation. Isolated and alone, Angelica locked herself in the parish house and fashioned a musical world that veers between ghostly gorgeous countrified blues and sly swamp Americana. With a childlike whimsy, quirky sense of humor, and dynamic delivery, it could easily soundtrack an apparitions' ball in some Faulknerian mansion. Upon first listen, it entranced Warner Bros. Records. Recorded by Charlie Peacock [The Civil Wars, Switchfoot] in Nashville, her full-length debut Medicine For Birds unlocks this world for everyone in 2016.

    Take Whatever You Want

Emily Estefan's upcoming debut LP, Take Whatever You Want, is set to release in 2017 via RED Distribution and her own label, Alien Shrimp Records.

About the album, Estefan says, "This album captures a very specific time and energy in my life. It tells a musical tale about a girl who grew up listening to a lot of different music. It's journey on which little by little I found myself."

Growing up surrounded by music, Emily naturally developed a deep passion for the craft at a very young age. That passion grew as she did. Through hard work and dedication, she graduated from Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music in May 2016, earning a degree in contemporary writing and production.

    When The World Comes Down

Limited Repress Gatefold LP On Clear Vinyl With White And Blue Starburst

The All-American Rejects began writing material for their third studio album in late December 2006 after wrapping up their Tournado tour, and continued through into the new year. But due to further touring and promotion for their second album Move Along, the band did not enter the studio until nearly a year later. This was also the first time lyricists Nick Wheeler and Tyson Ritter tried new methods of writing by escaping to various regional areas in North America to conceive new lyrics so that the songs could sound honest.

The first songs to be written that made it onto the album were I Wanna, Back to Me, and Breakin'. While I Wanna was written over a six-month period, with Ritter making constant refinements, the following songs Gives You Hell and Another Heart Calls were all written during a road trip to Vancouver, Canada, with Fallin' Apart and Mona Lisa (When the World Comes Down) getting scored in Rabun County, Georgia, the latter of which was recorded live in one take. The album was later named When the World Comes Down as Ritter saw the title track as a perfect, simple work of art.

The All-American Rejects began recording for When the World Comes Down at Skywalker Ranch in San Rafael, California[2] and later at Barefoot Studios with producer Eric Valentine. The 16-piece orchestra featured on a dozen of the tracks was recorded at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California.

In an interview with She Knows Entertainment, Ritter commented I think When the World Comes Down has been a journey. I was twenty-three when I started writing this record. I'm twenty-four now... people say when you graduate college you figure out who you are. If I had graduated college, this would be that moment - now. I think I was most questioning life when I was getting off the road with Move Along and this record was therapy for me. It's everything I needed it to be for me.

    Make Out With Violence

Make Out With Violence is a genre-bending tale of a boy trying to fulfill his unrequited love for a girl who has risen from the dead. Set against the backdrop of a summer of cicadas and swimming pools, the film blends elements of up-beat teenage melodrama with the strange gravity of classic coming of age stories. It tells the story of twin brothers Patrick and Carol Darling, newly graduated from high school and struggling to come to terms with the unexplained disappearance of their friend, the bright and beautiful Wendy Hearst. When a drive through the countryside surrounding their suburban community leads to the discovery of Wendys mysteriously animated corpse, the boys secretly transport the undead Wendy to an empty house in hopes of somehow bringing her back to life. As the sweltering summer pushes on, they must maintain the appearance of normalcy for their friends and family as they search for ways to revive the Wendy they once knew, or, failing that, to satisfy their own quests for love amongst the living and the dead. Features an award winning original pop soundtrack by The Non-Commissioned Officers.
