    Rumours

Ranked 25/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

This 1975 multi-platimum album, Rumours became Fleetwood Mac's most celebrated album and one of the best-selling albums of all time. Certified at 18 million units by the RIAA (2/01).

The undisputed crown-jewel of the Fleetwood Mac catalog, Rumours has been certified an incredible nineteen times platinum and is one of the best-selling albums in history. A rare effort that transcends genre, generations, and the personnel that created it, Rumours is quite possibly THE definitive album of the 1970s and unquestionably, one of the most vital rock LPs ever made. With such classic rock staples as Dreams, Don't Stop, Go Your Own Way, You Make Loving Fun, The Chain, and Gold Dust Woman, Rumours reads like a greatest hits package rather than an incredible singe album. Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and Co. simply make magic on every track. And while celebrated as one of the best break-up releases to enter the public realm, Rumours succeeds primarily because of the impeccable songwriting and passioned playing. No matter your age, interests, or tastes, this is a record everyone should own.

    Remastered

Music On Vinyl re-release the famous 'red sleeve' Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits album. This record was a stalwart of every decent album collection in the early 1970's as it represented the first greatest hits package from Fleetwood Mac, covering the period from the band's beginning in 1968 through to 1971.

Fleetwood Mac in their original incarnation were led by guitarist Peter Green and were leaders of the second British Blues boom of the late 1960s. Fleetwood Mac enjoyed several hit singles in the United Kingdom at that time and these are collated here for this album, originally issued on CBS Records only in the U.K.

'Albatross' was a huge chart hit in the UK whilst the single 'Black Magic Woman' helped to break Fleetwood Mac in the U.S.A via a cover version by Santana, who placed their version in the Billboard Top 40.

The album gatefold shows a full-size photo of the post-Green line up of the band with Christine McVie (nÉe Perfect), even though she just plays piano on a couple tracks and wasn't a full-fledged member until after Kiln House was released.

    Greatest Hits Volume II

From 1978 through 1988, Journey was undisputedly one of the most popular and successful bands in the US. Their original studio albums were massive sellers, with more than 30 singles reaching Billboards Top 100 charts. Journeys success grew with each release, selling out stadiums across the U.S., and for all intents and purposes inventing the AOR radio format (Album Oriented Rock).

During the bands hiatus in 1988, the Greatest Hits album was issued, surveying tracks from the bands 7 albums. Over the years, Journeys music has been used in films and recently in several high-profile TV shows (particularly the song Dont Stop Believin). Now 16x Platinum in the U.S., Journeys Greatest Hits has truly taken on a life of its own.

But as successful as Greatest Hits is, its only a part of the Journey story. Several Top 40 and Top 20 singles were not included such as Stone In Love, Anytime and Feeling That Way, as well as songs near and dear to principal songwriters Steve Perry, Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain. For those who love the Greatest Hits and want more, Columbia/Legacy is proud to release Greatest Hits 2.

Through The Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol 2)

    180 Gram Clear Vinyl

This album was spawned by three coinciding events -- the need to acknowledge the death of band co-founder Brian Jones (whose epitaph graces the inside cover) in July of 1969; the need to get Honky Tonk Women, then a huge hit single, onto an LP; and to fill the ten-month gap since the release of Beggars Banquet and get an album with built-in appeal into stores ahead of the Stones' first American tour in three years. The fact that the Stones had amassed a sufficient number of hits since their last greatest-hits compilation in early 1966 (Big Hits: High Tide and Green Grass) made this a no-brainer, and its song lineup was as potent at the time as any compilation of hit singles by any artist. From the group's excursions into fey psychedelia (Paint It, Black, Ruby Tuesday, She's a Rainbow, Dandelion), space rock (2000 Light Years From Home), punk decadence (Mother's Little Helper), and back to straight-ahead rock & roll (Jumpin' Jack Flash), some of it with a topical edge (Street Fighting Man), it's all incredibly potent, though also redundant to the extent that Ruby Tuesday and Let's Spend the Night Together had previously appeared on two U.S. albums. The presence of Honky Tonk Women propelled it to gold record status upon release on both sides of the Atlantic, although the simultaneously released British version (long out of print, except as a bootleg CD) is different and more confusing, but also more diverse and rewarding musically than the American version. Both this album and Big Hits: High Tide and Green Grass have been supplanted by Hot Rocks and More Hot Rocks, but are still handy in their tight respective focuses.

    All Mitch Ryder Hits!

As a very talented teenager playing in rock and soul bands across the Detroit area, future rock and roll legend Mitch Ryder was soon discovered by mega producer and label owner Bob Crewe (Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons). Having a knack for producing and writing many hit records, in 1966 Crewe recorded Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels in the studio and cut what many believe to be one of the first rock meets blue eyed soul albums with the Take A Ride, which of course featured their first chart topper Jenny Take A Ride. From this moment on, the Mitch Ryder persona was born, becoming a hero to many rock and roll fans throughout the world.

Mitch Ryders numerous appearances on national television shows, the concert circuit and continual airplay on all his records made him a fixture on the music charts. His next number of hit singles and albums truly impacted the way a lot of us listen to music to this day. The two and a half to three minute anthems like Devil With a Blue Dress On/Good Golly Miss Molly, Too Many Fish in the Sea/Three Little Fishes and the near riot pandemonium of Sock It to Me-Baby have all truly stood the test of time.

Noting all of the chart successes and sales of the Mitch Ryder name brand, the good folks at New Voice Records honored this famed artist with his own greatest hits album, the magnificent All Mitch Ryder Hits in 1968. This original album has been out of print for many years and for several decades in the vinyl format, that is until now.

Friday Music is proud to offer the original New Voice Records masterpiece, the All Mitch Ryder Hits for the first time on 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl. Greatest Hits

In the fall of 1976 The Marshall Tucker Band went to the UK and Europe for their only tour so far in those territories. The tour featured Bonnie Bramlett and Grinders Switch as support acts. The band was red hot in America and the time was right to spread the word to other countries. Founding member and lead singer Doug Gray remembers We didn't know what to expect but from the people at the hotel to the crew at the Hammersmith Odeon and finally the sold out crowd all made us feel so welcome we couldn't believe it. It was the same in Scotland with a different accent. When the label and band decided to release the new version of Greatest Hits on vinyl, they had the space to include these three live tracks, recorded in Glasgow, Scotland, and London, England, which have never before been released.

    Pure Country Soundtrack

    25th Anniversary First-Time Vinyl Pressing

Country legend George Strait is releasing the Pure Country soundtrack on vinyl to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the album. This limited-edition pressing is the first time that the soundtrack is being released in the vinyl format.

Pure Country, one of Strait's greatest successes, hit No. 1, eventually selling more than 6 million copies, in part due to its two No. 1 hit singles: "I Cross My Heart" and "Heartland." His song "When Did You Stop Loving Me" also reached No. 6 on charts.

In terms of the film itself, Pure Country opened at No. 6 the week of its release, earning $2,739,680 in its opening week, taking in over $15 million in total. In the film, Strait plays Wyatt "Dusty" Chandler, one of the biggest stars in country music, who becomes disillusioned with his success. Strait's character simply walks away from it all, returning to his hometown to get back in touch with his roots by working at a ranch.

Kelefa Sanneh writes in the New Yorker that Strait "was persuaded by the producer Jerry Weintraub, and by Colonel Tom Parker, the former manager of Elvis Presley After a concert in Las Vegas, Parker told Strait how important Hollywood had been to Presley. 'Elvis hated making those movies,' he said - but they transformed him from a pop star to an icon.'"

    Anthology - Greatest Hits

180 Gram Translucent Gold Colored Vinyl With Gatefold Cover

Anthology essentially replicates the previous collection Greatest Hits and adds singles from There's a Riot Goin' On and Fresh to the end of the album. Where Greatest Hits didn't follow a chronological order, Anthology presents every single in the order it was released -- and, with the exception of the latter-day singles and the inclusion of Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey, that is the major difference between the two collections. Anthology goes for a sweeping, definitive overview, while Greatest Hits is a brief blast of 12 of the finest singles of the rock & roll era. Either compilation functions as an excellent introduction, but Anthology is more comprehensive, giving it the edge as a first purchase.
