Weezer (Green Album) on Numbered Limited Edition 180 Gram LP from Mobile Fidelity

Concise, Tightly Played 2001 Power-Pop Album Features Back-to-Basics Approach

Weezer's Fastest-Selling Release Includes "Hash Pipe," "Island in the Sun," "Don't Let Go"

Record Launched One of Most Memorable Return-from-the-Dead Comebacks in History

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Smooth, Big-Guitar Sound Resonates Like Never Before

Weezer's self-titled third album, collectively known as the Green Album, nearly never came to pass. The band had all but broken apart, with leader Rivers Cuomo choosing to go back to college and the other members dismayed at the initial reception to 1996's Pinkerton. Persuaded at the turn of the century to return to the concert stage, the foursome launched one of the most enduring comeback stories in history, and in the process, penned 75 songs, the choicest of which grace 2001's concise, tightly played Green Album.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed on 180 gram LP at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's reissue presents the music with by far the most dynamic range it's ever enjoyed. Cars icon Ric Ocasek's production comes into fuller relief, with guitar notes ringing with front-to-back depth and superb imaging. Cuomo's singing gains focus and clarity, and the rhythms that help give the tunes their incessant catchiness are better defined, with the low end finally present.

That nearly everything on Green Album-from the cover to the producer to sonics-reflects those of Weezer's blockbuster debut isn't merely coincidence. The quartet, not yet realizing that Pinkerton had already become a cult classic (and, soon after, would be hailed as one of the most prized albums of its generation), intentionally pursued a back-to-basics approach that echoed its roots. Unadorned simplicity, skyscraper-sized hooks, and short-but-sweet arrangements are the hallmarks here, each a signpost on how rock albums can work their way into a listener's head and provide limitless satisfaction.

Of course, however crucial, the music is just one component in Weezer's arsenal. Akin to its sibling efforts, Green Album wouldn't be the same devoid of Cuomo's lyrics, which exude charming personality and boyish awkwardness. Absent is the heart-on-a-sleeve obviousness of the fare of Pinkerton. The material here echoes with a related emotional universality whereby romantic yearning, fear of rejection, and getaway fantasies spark with the winking promise of enthusiasm and attainment. There's a reason every passage remains so accessible; playfulness and wryness abound. Power-pop efforts don't come more perfect.

    Green

1988's Green, R.E.M.'s sixth studio album, was a milestone of sorts for the band: Green marked the group's
departure from longtime label I.R.S. Records; it was R.E.M's first LP to be certified double platinum, and it was the
album that broadened and solidified the band's success across the Atlantic.

    An eclectic album, Green featured
singles "Stand" and "Orange Crush" and was certified double platinum in the US, platinum in the UK, and peaked at
    #12 on the Billboard 200.

    Green River

The third LP by one of the world's all-time greatest rock bands, CCR, Green River remains a top-selling album in the CCR catalog. Green River (containing chart-topping hit "Bad Moon Rising") reached #2 on the Billboard Top 200 in the US upon its release in 1969. Green River represents both a true high point in songwriting creativity and the point at which the band's classic sound fully bloomed into the CCR that fans recognize and love today.

Nick Hakim is a DC-raised and NYC-based singer and multi-instrumentalist whose music experiments with soul, psychedelia, and R&B. He cites artists as diverse as Marvin Gaye, Portishead, Shuggie Otis, Bilal, and My Bloody Valentine as influences.

His debut album Green Twins is a lush, ambitiously expansive project recorded over the last three years. Its production layers analog demos with more polished studio recordings, and it features NYC jazz experimentalists Onyx Collective and Jesse & Forever, artists Nick frequently performs within the close-knit Brooklyn DIY circuit.

"Green Lanes" is the second album from London-based band Ultimate Painting. Formed as a loose collaboration by Jack Cooper (Mazes) & James Hoare (Veronica Falls) the project quickly turned into a full-fledged band in 2014 with the release of their s/t debut album on Trouble In Mind. That album received praise worldwide from NME, Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound and more, and with "Green Lanes" the band is poised for more accolades. The album is focused & cohesive, the result of two voices becoming one and each member's songs complimenting the other.

    Green River

If anything, CCR's third album Green River represents the full flower of their classic sound initially essayed on its predecessor, Bayou Country. One of the differences between the two albums is that Green River is tighter, with none of the five-minute-plus jams that filled out both their debut and Bayou Country, but the true key to its success is a peak in John Fogerty's creativity. Although CCR had at least one cover on each album, they relied on Fogerty to crank out new material every month. He was writing so frequently that the craft became second-nature and he laid his emotions and fears bare, perhaps unintentionally. Perhaps that's why Green River has fear, anger, dread, and weariness creeping on the edges of gleeful music. This was a band that played rock & roll so joyously that they masked the, well, sinister undercurrents in Fogerty's songs. Bad Moon Rising has the famous line Hope you've got your things together/Hope you're quite prepared to die, but that was only the most obvious indication of Fogerty's gloom. Consider all the other dark touches: the Sinister purpose knocking at your door; the chaos of Commotion; the threat of death in Tombstone Shadow; you only return to the idyllic Green River once you get lost and realize the world is smolderin'. Even the ballads have a strong melancholy undercurrent, highlighted by Lodi, where Fogerty imagines himself stuck playing in dead-end towns for the rest of his life. Not the typical thoughts of a newly famous rock & roller, but certainly an indication of Fogerty's inner tumult. For all its darkness, Green River is ultimately welcoming music, since the band rocks hard and bright and the melancholy feels comforting, not alienating.

    Green Language

Glasgow's Russell Whyte is behind some of the most joyous, hyperactive, and truly original club music of recent years. As electronic alchemist Rustie, he harnesses the energy and euphoria of hyphy hip-hop and trance, spikes it with speaker-mangling bass and flashes of techno, and channels this all into intense dancefloor detonators, a sound he honed playing at nights thrown by local label collectives Numbers and LuckyMe. Rustie returns this summer with Green Language, a development and testament to his true passions and influences, the album is a high energy 40 minutes that showcases Rustie's signature sound at new found heights. It's a mediation on everything from grime and hip-hop to sci-fi computer games and even prog rock.

Green and Yellow is the collected recordings of
legendary lost 1970s Deep South freaksters, THE
STROKE BAND. Seen and heard, until now, by only a
few South Georgia pot heads, rednecks, sheriffs,
strippers, and intoxicated U.S. Marines. Fronted by
Bruce Joyner - a swamp rat synthesis of Buddy Holly,
Bryan Ferry and Jerry Lee Lewis - The Stroke Band were
an art-punk aberration to anything else happening in
South Georgia in 1978 - 79. This Anthology Recordings

    Al Green Greatest Hits

Ranked 52/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Al Green was the first great soul singer of the '70s and arguably the last great Southern soul singer. With his seductive singles for Hi Records in the early '70s, Green bridged the gap between deep soul and smooth Philadelphia soul. He incorporated elements of gospel, interjecting his performances with wild moans and wails, but his records were stylish, boasting immaculate productions that rolled along with a tight beat, sexy backing vocals, and lush strings. The distinctive Hi Records sound that the vocalist and producer Willie Mitchell developed made Al Green the most popular and influential soul singer of the early '70s. Greatest Hits epitomizes that trademark sound with 10 of the R&B legends' all-time classics.

Influential alternative rock icons Primus are back with their first album of brand new music since 1999s Antipop. The new album is entitled Green Naugahyde. Primus will be hitting the road in support of the new album headlining their own shows, festivals (Hangout, Bonnaroo, All Good Festival) and playing legendary venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre with old friends The Flaming Lips.

Primus formed in the late 80s in Northern California, releasing their first album, Suck On This, in 1989. They signed to Caroline Records and released the now-classic Frizzle Fry in 1990. As part of the alternative rock explosion of the 90s, the band signed to Interscope and gave the world some of the biggest records of the decade, including Sailing The Seas Of Cheese, Pork Soda, Tales From The Punchbowl and The Brown Album, had several Billboard Top 10 debuts, garnered a Grammy nomination and wrote the internationally loved and enduring theme song for South Park.

    Tomorrow The Green Grass

On Tomorrow the Green Grass, the Jayhawks found themselves in the tricky situation of trying to match the quality of Hollywood Town Hall without simply repeating themselves, and they came remarkably close to achieving that daunting task. Rather than simply mimic the warm and unaffected sound of Hollywood Town Hall, the Jayhawks reached for a broader and more eclectic approach on Tomorrow the Green Grass; with the presence of new keyboard player Karen Grotberg and the addition of strings on several tracks, the album certainly sounded fuller and more artful, but Mark Olson and Gary Louris' harmonies were still the band's secret weapon, and were as pure and emotionally compelling as ever, while Louris' electric guitar solos gave the songs real rock & roll muscle without disturbing the essentially gentle nature of their music. And the best songs on Tomorrow the Green Grass are every bit as good as anything on Hollywood Town Hall, especially the opening hat trick of Blue, I'll Run Away, and Miss Williams' Guitar (the latter a joyous love letter to Olson's new bride, Victoria Williams). But while nearly every song on Hollywood Town Hall seemed like a classic in context, the greater stylistic variety of Tomorrow the Green Grass had the consequence of making a few of the songs in the second half of the album seem less than essential, most notably Ann Jane and Pray for Me, though they hardly counted as disappointments, and the album rallies to a rousing finale with Ten Little Kids. If Hollywood Town Hall is inarguably the Jayhawks' best album, Tomorrow the Green Grass runs a very close second, and though it was to be the group's last album with Mark Olson, the eclectic approach pointed the way to the sound and style of the fine records the Louris-led version of the band would go on to make.

From November 1975, 'Another Green World' represents the bridge between Brian's ground-breaking pop career and his early experiments with ambient music. This time around he was ably assisted in the studio by Robert Fripp from King Crimson, Phil Collins and Percy Jones from Brand X and, on viola, The Velvet Underground's John Cale. Yellow & Green (Awaiting Repress)

Baroness, the Savannah-based quartet whose two prior releases (Red Album and Blue Record) were awarded record of the year honors from both Revolver and Decibel Magazines as well as repeatedly placing on year-end best of lists from Pitchfork and Village Voice, return with a new album titled Yellow & Green which will be released via Relapse Records.

Yellow & Green reunites Baroness with Blue Record producer John Congleton (Explosions in the Sky, St. Vincent, Xiu Xiu) following both the band's busiest period (multiple worldwide tours including stops at Coachella, Bonnaroo and Soundwave) and most luxurious year, having taken nearly all of 2011 off to freely write and demo material for their newest offering.

Yellow & Green finds the band as more than just giants of the metal underground, but now fully formed hard rock titans. Fans of the band have come to expect nothing less than constant evolution from Baroness and that is precisely what the band has delivered, but in ways no one could have anticipated: the hooks are immediately seared into your brain, riffs that take just one listen to fully lodge themselves in your consciousness and vocals that are sung both heavily and beautifully.

Some songs are more delicate than Baroness ever hinted at before while others are straight up arena rockers, yet all along Yellow & Green is unmistakingly the Baroness that the world has come to love and look to for Record of the Year quality rock and roll. It's not hard to imagine any one of the 18 songs that fill out Yellow & Green being rock radio anthems, and deservedly so.

Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass)

    Import

Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) is the first official compilation album by The Rolling Stones, released on 28 March 1966, on London Records in the US and on 4 November 1966, by Decca Records in the UK. The two releases featured different cover art and track listing. The front cover for the American release was used for the rear photo on the UK edition.

The album cover photo (US edition) was shot at Franklin Canyon Park in Los Angeles, California.

Reaching #3 on the US charts, where it remained for two years, Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) proved to be a big smash and currently remains a popular Rolling Stones retrospective.

The UK Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) includes tracks released after the American edition appeared. The Rolling Stones' debut 1963 single, a cover of Chuck Berry's Come On, was included, but its more successful follow-up, I Wanna Be Your Man - composed by rivals (although in reality as friends) Lennon-McCartney - was left off the album.

First Pressing of The Belle Album in 30 Years

The Belle Album is a studio album by soul musician Al Green. It is his first album recorded without longtime producer Willie Mitchell, owner of Green's former label, Hi Records. This also marks the first instance in which Green plays lead guitar on his records. The Belle Album is one of the last in a string of secular recordings made by Green; he had recently converted to Christianity and had been ordained as a pastor, and thereafter he began creating gospel records exclusively.

Al Green Gets Next To You (Pure Pleasure) (Awaiting Repress)

After the shaky start of Green Is Blues, Al Green and producer Willie Mitchell established their classic sound with Green's second album, Gets Next to You. The main difference is in the rhythm section. Abandoning the gritty syncopations of deep Southern soul, the Hi Rhythm Section plays it slow and seductive, working a sultry, steady pulse that Green exploits with his remarkable voice. Alternating between Sam Cooke's croon and Otis Redding's shout, Green develops his own distinctive style, and Gets Next To You only touches the surface of its depth. Although the album is filled with wonderful moments, few are as astonishing as Green and Mitchell's reinterpretation of the Temptations' I Can't Get Next to You, which turns the original inside out.

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

    Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac

    Import

In 1967 Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie played in the legendary John Mayall & The Blues Brakers, and were given free studio time during which they recorded five songs. Peter Green was so convinced of this band´s musical prowess that he formed it on the spot and named it after the drummer & the bass player.

John McVie, however, wasn't convinced yet, and it forced Fleetwood Mac to find a temporary replacement in Bob Burning. After a short while, however, he was as hooked on the Elmore James influenced British Blues that he left John Mayall to take a risk on a group of unknowns.
    The rest is history.

'Fleetwood Mac', the self-titled debut album, was released in 1968, and was one of the highlights of the late British Blues movement, climbing to the #4 slot in the UK album charts without producing one single, and managing to stay in the charts for 37 weeks.

It was a traditional blues album true to form, but one that also showcased Peter Green's budding singing and songwriting skills; 'I Loved A Woman' has a hint of the Latin Blues fusion he would perfect in 'Black Magic Woman' a year later, while 'Looking For Somebody' balanced humour and vulnerability that would come to characterize their style.

Bob's Burgers premiered on the Fox network January 2011, and quickly became one of the most watched series on television. After enjoying the highest-rated new season premiere of the 2010-11 season, Bob's Burgers quickly settled into an average viewership of over 4 million per episode. The show has won an Emmy award and been nominated five times, including a current nomination for Outstanding Animated Program. It has inspired many popular spinoff items, including a recent, best-selling cookbook. With the seventh season set to premiere this fall, Bob's Burgers' cultural influence only grows.

Now comes The Bob's Burgers Music Album, featuring 107 songs from the first 107 episodes (all six existing seasons), plus five special cover versions of songs from the show. Originally broadcast within the episodes - and often in abbreviated form - these songs appear here in their freestanding glory for the first time.

    • The album features the main cast members - Bob (Jon Benjamin) and Linda (John Roberts) and their children Tina (Dan Mintz), Gene (Eugene Mirman) and Louise (Kristen Schaal) - singing original songs that build on the show's unique sense of humor.

    • Also featured are many of the show's recurring and special guests, from comedians like Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Kline, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, Zack Galifianakis, and Fred Armisen, to musical guests Cyndi Lauper and Carly Simon.

    • Includes five never-aired "Bob's Buskers" cover versions of songs from the show performed by St. Vincent, the National, Lapsley, and Stephin Merritt of Magnetic Fields.
