Jack Johnson & Friends: Best Of The Kukua Festival

Just in time for Earth Day, Brushfire Records will release Jack Johnson and Friends: Best of Kokua Festival. The album features a 13-track compilation of live performances from Jack Johnson's benefit concerts for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation. Proceeds from Jack Johnson and Friends: Best of Kokua Festival will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation.

Culled from six years of his eco-minded music festival, Jack Johnson and Friends: Best of Kokua Festival, highlights onstage collaborations with legendary musicians like Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, Dave Mathews, Ziggy and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley and more.

Johnson and his band team up with more than a dozen guest artists to perform both original works and spirited covers of classic songs. The album features several of Johnson's breezy folk-rock gems, including "Constellations" (with Eddie Vedder), "Mudfootball" (with Ozomatli & G. Love), "Breakdown" (with ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro), and "Better Together" (with Hawaiian singer Paula Fuga).

Elsewhere on Jack Johnson and Friends: Best of Kokua Festival, Johnson joins his guests for stripped-down renditions of their own songs: Taj Mahal offers his bluesy "Further On Down The Road," Jackson Browne revisits "Take It Easy" with the help of singer/guitarist John Cruz (who also shares his Hawaiian anthem "Island Style"), and the Marley brothers bring the reggae with Ziggy's "Cry, Cry, Cry" and Damian's dancehall banger "Welcome to Jamrock."

Rounding out the record are an eclectic collection of covers, including Bob Marley's "High Tide or Low Tide" (featuring Ben Harper), Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" (featuring Eddie Vedder) and Jimmy Buffet's "A Pirate Looks at Forty" (featuring Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds). Willie Nelson, meanwhile, delivers a Harper-assisted take on "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain," the Fred Rose-penned classic he popularized.

Held on Earth Day weekend at Honolulu's Waikiki Shell since its inception in 2004, the Kokua Festival serves as both a community-centered celebration of music and environmental awareness and as the major fundraiser for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation (a nonprofit organization founded by Johnson and his wife Kim in 2003 to support environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawaii). Like the festival itself, Jack Johnson and Friends: Best of Kokua Festival spotlights artists who share the Kokua Hawaii Foundation's mission of protecting the planet and cultivating environmental consciousness.

Disney takes us back to the sea for an adventure about home, tradition and growing up. Composed by the Samoan musician Opetaia Foa'i, Mark Mancina (who helped put a South African spin on Elton John's songs for The Lion King), and Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda, the movie's soundtrack is an uplifting mix of Disney storytelling and traditional Oceanian music, sung both in English and the Polynesian language of Tokelau. It also features beautiful performances by Hawaiian actress Auli'i Cravalho, who voices the film's heroine, Moana.

Mastered by Bernie Grudman from the Original Analogue Master Tapes

Ry Cooder's name has helped bring attention to this session, but it's the veteran Cuban son musicians who make this album really special. Reminiscent of Ellington in its scope and sense of hushed romanticism, Buena Vista Social Club is that rare meld of quietude and intensity; while the players sound laid-back, they're putting forth very alive music, a reminder that aging doesn't mean taking to bed. Barbarito Torres's laoud solo on El Cuarto de Tula is both more blinding and more tasteful than any guitar showcase on any recent rock album; a quote from Stormy Weather and some very distinct parallels to Hawaiian styles remind us of why it's called world music. --Rickey Wright

Give Yourself Goosebumps: Ry Cooder's Cross-Cultural Chicken Skin Music Mixes Hawaiian, Gospel, Conjunto, Folk, and Blues Styles into a Visionary Roots-Music Tapestry

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes, Pressed at RTI, and Strictly Limited to 3000 Numbered Copies: Natural-Sounding 180g Vinyl LP Features Defined Textures, Intricate Details, Ample Airiness

The title of Ry Cooder's Chicken Skin Music - Hawaiian slang for goosebumps - serves as a direct, simple description of the album's emotional appeal. But it barely scratches the surface of a 1976 effort that triggered an interest in world music a decade before the term became commonplace and a genre into and of itself. Part of a series of inimitable mid-1970s records on which Cooder ignored traditional boundaries and instigated lasting cross-cultural communication, Chicken Skin Music blends gospel, Hawaiian, folk, blues, and Tex-Mex styles into a brilliant roots stew distinguished with virtuosic playing and inspired contextual surprises.

Mastered from the original master tapes, pressed at RTI, and strictly limited to 3000 numbered copies, Mobile Fidelity's 180g vinyl LP of Chicken Skin Music brings the brilliant instrumental textures and lively tonalities to the fore like no prior analog edition. Graced with silent, black backgrounds and generous soundstages, this reissue particularly underscores the depth of Flaco Jimenez's accordion contributions. You'll hear the air flowing through the reeds, pressure resonating from the bellows, and the wide-spanning timbres emanating from the register stops.

Equally transfixing are the lifelike manners in which the rich assortment of guitars come alive, with each note occupying its own space and portraying a character unique to the individual instrument, be it a slack-key, steel, or acoustic guitar. The result is a multi-detailed, organic-sounding musical tapestry that dazzles by way of beautiful interplay, unexpected dialogue, and connective eclecticism that proves music is indeed a common language when executed with a collaborative mindset, innovative exploration, and respectful authenticity - no easy feats, but achievements fully on display on Chicken Skin Music.

Jimenez, now a legend that's performed with everyone from the Rolling Stones to Dr. John, remains one of the keys to Cooder being able to successfully carry out what the latter deemed a mutuality in music vision. Cooder first heard conjunto accordion fare on a Mexican radio station in his car and proceeded to teach himself the instrument while committing himself to embracing the then-local, regionalized style for the set that became Chicken Skin Music. Jimenez graces three tracks, including a ravishing interpretation of Ben E. King's Stand by Me transformed into a spiritual grounded by a norteno structure and a romantic take on Jim Reeves' He'll Have to Go recast with a bolero rhythm and saxophone-accordion duet.

Chicken Skin Music isn't limited to South of the Border geography and tradition. Steel-guitarist and vocalist Gabby Pahinui and slack-key guitar great Atta Isaacs represent the 50th state on stripped-down renditions of Hank Snow's smash Yellow Roses and the wordless Chloe. Elsewhere, gospel singers team with Cooder on the Appalachian-tinted Always Lift Them Up, the midsection of which features the Hawaiian standard Kanaka Wai Wai.

Cooder bookends everything with a pair of Leadbelly numbers - The Bourgeois Blues and Goodnight Irene - chosen after the headliner witnessed Jimenez and his band perform at a local dance. Given their ordering on the album, techniques they employ, and themes, the songs also further tighten the thematic connection the headliner makes with the standout guests. In many ways, Chicken Skin Music is the equivalent of Buena Vista Social Club more than 20 years before the latter emerged. Experience it the way Cooder and company meant it to be heard - in unparalleled fidelity.

    American Epic: The Soundtrack

American Epic: The Soundtrack leads the way for a series of album releases accompanying the Lo-Max/PBS/BBC Arena film project American Epic created by Allison McGourty, Duke Erikson and Directed by Bernard MacMahon.

American Epic is a journey across time to the birth of modern recording, when music scouts armed with cutting-edge recording technology captured the breadth of American music and discovered the artists that would shape our world.

The recordings they made of all the ethnic groups of America democratized the nation and gave a voice to everyone. Country singers in the Appalachians, Blues guitarists in the Mississippi Delta, Gospel preachers across the south, Cajun fiddlers in Louisiana, Tejano groups from the Texas Mexico border, Native American drummers in Arizona, and Hawaiian musicians were all recorded. It was the first time America heard itself.

American Epic: The Soundtrack highlights recordings from the three-part documentary on one 150g LP, including original recordings by The Carter Family, Mississippi John Hurt, Charley Patton, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and more all restored to unprecedented levels of sonic fidelity.

    Let's Dance Raw

    Japanese Singer-Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist's
Follow-up To 2012's How To Live With A Phantom

Japanese singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Shintaro
Sakamoto returns with a new full-length, Let's Dance Raw, which
Other Music Recording Co. (distributed by Fat Possum) releases on
September 16. The album is the follow-up to Sakamoto's solo debut,
the otherworldly folk-pop masterpiece How to Live with a Phantom
    (2012, Other Music).

While How to Live with a Phantom was the first many around the
globe knew of Sakamoto, he has long been an icon in his homeland,
having long fronted the psychedelic phenomenon Yura Yura Teikoku,
a Tokyo-based band that emerged from Koenji's legendary UFO
Club scene and, across their 20-year trajectory, achieved mainstream
success throughout the country. Following the group's break-up in
2010, Sakamoto began working on How to Live with a Phantom, a bold
stylistic departure that eschewed Yura Yura Teikokou's psychedelic
freak-outs for a much quieter and harder-to-define sound.

From first glimpse of the cover of Let's Dance Raw, it's clear that
once again, we are entering uncharted territory. The record's sleeve,
painted by Sakamoto, features the artist sitting upon a black throne,
a steel guitar resting on his knee like a child being protected from
the ominous mushroom cloud of smoke billowing behind him.
A grinning skull has replaced Sakamoto's face. This dichotomy of
bright, innocent beauty and subtle perversity is the essence of Let's
Dance Raw, with Sakamoto moving even further from the tough
underground power-trio psychedelic rock of his former band.

He hinted at the new sound throughout his solo debut, and here
the music is blown wide open, with the steel guitar as the unifying
force throughout. Sakamoto purchased and learned how to play the
instrument just prior to writing and recording Let's Dance Raw, and
it enriches the post-apocalyptic exotica on these ten songs, fusing
together the bright and breezy shimmer of Hawaiian slack-key hula
melodies, the dusty shuffle of southwestern desert blues, and the
space-age bachelor-pad music of postwar suburban dreamers. The
result is an album that revisits the soundtracks of musical escapism
made popular in postwar American and Japanese cultures-and
    deftly updates them.

It's all anchored by deep, jazzy grooves straight out of a 1970s
AM radio broadcast, and peppered with flourishes of Brazilian and
Latin percussion throughout. Atop the music, Sakamoto sings of the
human race's downfall, the weight of the lyrics made contrastingly
perverse via duets with robotic vocoder voices and helium-voiced
cartoon chipmunks cooing in an unsettling fashion alongside him.
While Sakamoto once again handles the bulk of the instrumental
duties, faithful drummer and percussionist Yuta Suganuma also
returns for this set, as well as bassist AYA, on loan from fellow Japanese
    psychedelic explorers OOIOO.

    A Very Kacey Christmas

Kacey Musgraves will release her very first holiday album, A Very Kacey Christmas featuring Leon Bridges, Willie Nelson & The Quebe Sisters via Mercury Nashville. Produced by Musgraves, Misa Arriaga and Kyle Ryan, the album features four festive original tracks, co-written by Musgraves, as well as covers of eight holiday favorites.

Working on my first Christmas album has been one of the most enriching musical experiences I've ever had and I can't wait for everyone to hear it, said Musgraves. I really wanted to create a whimsical throwback holiday record, one that evokes feelings of nostalgia and simpler times. I think that the fine musicians and brains that were a part of this project have helped me create a body of music that can be added to people s classic collections.

To Musgraves, holiday music has always had a great combination of pop sensibilities and melodies, and when she began to work on the album, she knew she wanted to create something unique. It s been an exciting experience for her to watch these songs come alive. It would have been easy to simply copy old versions of these songs that have been around forever, but it was very important for us to build arrangements that are totally new and very me.

Inspired by Bing Crosby, the Andrew Sisters, Nat King Cole and the classic sounds of the 40s, 50s and 60s, 'A Very Kacey Christmas' features the Grammy Award-winner's charming take on classic standards, as well as four original tracks to put her personal perspective on the holidays. There can be a touch of sad feelings and memories during the holiday season for a lot of people so I knew when I went in to write I wanted to include all the emotions this time of year can bring out. It's tough to decide what the overall sound could be described as but Musgraves says it's part Western Swing sprinkled with bits of classic pop, hazy Hawaiian moments and child-like fun, all coming to a nostalgic and melancholy end.

FRKWYS Vol. 11 - Contos De Lisboa

For the the eleventh volume of FRKWYS, an unrestricted series pairing contemporary
artists with their influential predecessors, gifted guitar squire Steve Gunn meets roving,
radiating legend Mike Cooper in Lisbon, Portugal.

Sharing their vision over lengthy living room guitar sessions and evenings of cold wine
in Fado taverns, Gunn and Cooper created Cantos de Lisboa, an album with variable
vernacular shades and musical forms from Portugal's antiquity.

Cantos means "corner" in Portuguese, as well as "chant" or "song" (this latter meaning
evolved from the Latin antecedent referring to stanzas of verse in poetry). For two artists
whose roots lie in the country blues and its subverted offshoots, the proverbial "corner"
is actually home, the undisturbed spot where music can flourish.

A tranquil interlude for these two travellers to create off-guard improvisations in their
shared style of deconstructed guitar music, Cantos de Lisboa is a curious detail in the
periphery of their snapshot of Portugal.

In his fifty-year-plus career, Cooper's global ventures have transported his music to
exotic locales parallel to Lisbon. 2004's Rayon Hula musically translated the patterned
flora of aloha shirts (Cooper's signature garment) as looped samples of famed Hawaiian
vibraphone player Arthur Lyman for an avant vivified form of exotica.

Rayon Hula signaled Cooper's vital re-emergence as a dexterous alchemist of slide
guitar. Cooper's discography is colored with similar instances of casually conceptual,
improvisatory guitar music, including his 1970 masterpiece Trout Steel (an album Gunn
recalls in Cantos de Lisboa's liner notes as shaping his own ambitions and music).
For his part, Gunn's path to Portugal was compelled by his kinship to Cooper and
his ilk's experimentation with guitar-picked country blues and 70s British folk. Gunn's
extracurricular immersion in free jazz and psychedelia, no doubt influenced by his
Philadelphia upbringing and surroundings, ensures his playing never grits or grids and
    always soars to ecstatic heights.

These musical emblems were gracefully memorialized on Gunn's celebrated Time
Off (Paradise of Bachelors, 2013) and across a substantial catalog of solo, duo and
ensemble work that resembles that of a veteran player more than a young guitar
    slinger.

On Cantos de Lisboa, Gunn and Cooper take emotive cues from Fado, the regional
music of Portugal, which is in close plaintive spirit to the blues. A melancholy seeps into
the music, while steering a wide berth from any bummer notes or pastiche. Cooper's
sparse effects toolkit and stately, gliding cadences are nimbly employed, while Gunn's
ashen voice and steady strum lend an intensely organic feel to the album's improvisatory
    portraits.

The latter half of Cantos de Lisboa echoes the "saudade" theme as referenced in
the blissful opening track, Cooper's howl spiriting the Portuguese word that translates
roughly into "loss" or "longing." Saudade is said to be the core feature of Fado music. In
Cantos de Lisboa, Saudade becomes a spirit inhabiting the album's corners, but never
    disrupting the musicians' collaborative evocations.

In the hands of these two limitless guitarists, Cantos de Lisboa convenes in an abstract,
almost field recorded take on lap-steel and American Primitive guitar styles. For the
brief idyll, Gunn and Cooper's collaboration is remarkably rich, marking their passage
through Portugal not just as a time to revel in an ancient city, but a time for focused
    collaboration and creative consonance.

    Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite

    40th Anniversary of the Historic #1 LP/Televised 1973 Concert!

Mastered by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray from the Original RCA Records Tapes & Manufactured at RTI!

Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the Great Depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during the early-'50s, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known. The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out his contract and signed the legend to a long-term deal, and his first RCA single "Heartbreak Hotel" forever etched "The King Of Rock And Roll" trademark to his name.

Over the next three decades, Elvis Presley would release dozens of hit albums and tons of smash singles, spend time in the Army, star in over 35 top charting films, as well as sell out concert tours around the states and Canada making him the most successful solo artist of all time. In 1968, his career ignited even further thanks to his Elvis TV Special on NBC and another series of hit singles and career making albums like his country soul smash From Elvis In Memphis.

As the '70s began, Elvis was selling out shows all around the country and began to plan out a series of groundbreaking performances in Hawaii. His show on January 14, 1973 was broadcast live via satellite across over forty countries and would become the most watched televised event by a solo artist in history. It's been said that over one billion viewers enjoyed his incredible concert! The show was choreographed and staged like nothing ever before and featured a multitude of musicians, the Hawaiian Islands, the appreciative and excited audience, and of course, The King Of Rock And Roll himself Elvis Presley.

The multi-platinum Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite set also was a blockbuster as it hit the top #1 spot on the charts in 1973, making this one of the biggest albums of his career as well as one of the most revered live concert albums of all time proving once again Elvis Presley's career was unlike any other in music history. This live masterpiece takes off with the Memphis blues rocker "See See Rider" and his huge '70 hit "Burning Love." He follows these up with his tip of the hat to his friends The Beatles with the soulful balladry of "Something." More of Elvis' own favorites follow with the Hank Williams' ballad "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" and his rockin' interpretation of Chuck Berry's classic "Johnny B. Goode."

The album also features a nice helping of solid Elvis top chart hits like "Blue Suede Shoes," "Hound Dog," "A Big Hunk Of Love" and his smash single interpretation of James Taylor's "Steamroller Blues." As a tribute to his Hawaii audience, the ever thoughtful King Of Rock And Roll closed the show with his masterpiece "Can't Help Falling In Love" from his film Blue Hawaii. In total, the album showcases a very historic Elvis Presley performance which has truly gone onto become the definitive live concert album in his amazing catalog of hit gold and platinum recordings.

In honor of the Man, the Music, the Legend, the King Of Rock And Roll, Friday Music is very proud and honored to announce the limited edition 40th Anniversary deluxe two album 180 gram audiophile vinyl release of the RCA Victor classic Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite by Elvis Presley. Guit With It

Most artists playing and staying true to traditional country styles get pigeonholed as retro acts in the 1990s. Junior Brown, on the other hand, is viewed as something fresh and vital. You'd like to think it's because of his appealing baritone drawl, deft songwriting touch, and fleet set of picking fingers, but you just know that it's the Hendrix flourishes and his guit-steel creation that make him relevant to the contemporary Nashville tastemakers. Either way, Brown's mix of Hawaiian-tinged ballads, honky-tonk weepers, steady shuffles, and boy-girl duets is as potent as country gets in the 1990s. This 1993 effort, his first for Curb, not only showcases his rather formidable guitar technique and wall-shaking voice, but also proves him to be a sneakily clever lyricist, whether being ironic, sarcastic, or honest. --Marc Greilsamer

Way Down In The Jungle Room

RCA Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Way Down In The Jungle Room, a definitive new 2-LP collection of Elvis Presley's last studio recordings.

Way Down In The Jungle Room is an essential and welcome addition for every fan's library. In the mid-1970s, Elvis, the King of Rock 'n' Roll, became another kind of pioneer as one of the world's first major recording artists to create fully-realized professional level records in the intimacy of his own home studio.

With original recordings executive-produced by Elvis Presley with producer Felton Jarvis (who'd helmed most of Elvis' records from 1966-1977), Way Down In The Jungle Room features rare outtakes laid down during two mythic sessions (February 2-8, 1976 and October 28-30, 1976) in Graceland's den -- known as the Jungle Room -- which was converted into a professional caliber recording studio for the purpose of capturing these indelible performances. The outtakes have been newly mixed by Grammy Award-winning engineer Matt Ross-Spang at Sam Phillips Recording in Memphis, Tennessee.

For these sessions, Elvis was backed by many members of his longtime touring band including: James Burton (guitar), Ronnie Tutt (drums), David Briggs (keyboards), Glenn D. Hardin (keyboards), Jerry Scheff (bass), Norbert Putnam (bass) and J.D. Sumner & the Stamps (vocals).

In 1976, when the tracks for Way Down In The Jungle Room were cut, Elvis Presley had been an RCA Records recording artist for 20 years, inventing the sound and attitude that defined the very essence of rock 'n' roll. That same year, RCA released The Sun Sessions, the label's first official collection of the electrifying 1954-1955 Elvis recordings that launched his career while transforming the world.

Having entered his 40s, Elvis Presley was evolving as an artist and, rather than bask in the nostalgia of his 1950s watershed recordings, was looking for new ways to express himself musically. Needing to create new sounds for a new era, Elvis Presley--who'd been charting on Country and Adult Contemporary stations -- decided to convert the Hawaiian-themed Jungle Room (a relaxation den in his fabled Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee) into an informal home studio, where he could lay down tracks the way he wanted, outside the budget and scheduling pressures of the professional studios he'd worked in previously. With the help of RCA's mobile recording truck and longtime producer Felton Jarvis and engineer Mike Moran at the board, Elvis tackled a far-ranging mix of country and pop covers (Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain, I'll Never Fall in Love Again, Danny Boy, Solitaire) and late-period classics of his catalog, such as Moody Blue and Way Down.

The Outtakes was mixed for this collection at the Sam Phillips Recording Service in Memphis and includes both outtakes and in-the-studio dialog, providing a fly-on-the-wall experience of what the sessions were like. With the exception of She Thinks I Still Care, the performances have been sequenced in the order they were recorded.

Way Down In The Jungle Room with also be available on 150g 12 vinyl in a 2LP gatefold sleeve.

A Fiendish Threat (Out Of Stock)

The king of Hellbilly, Mr. Hank3 himself, is pleased to announce a triple-threat of new releases. Hank3 will release a brand new DOUBLE country album, entitled Brothers of the 4x4, and a single punk album, entitled A Fiendish Threat, with his new project "3".

Recording in his own home and releasing music on his own label, the Megaforce distributed Hank3 Records, allowed Williams complete creative control during the four month period it took to make both records.

Besides living the songs subject matter first, Hank3 sang and played both guitar and drums on the records. As if pulling triple duty wasn't enough, he engineered, produced, mixed and mastered all the tunes as well. Not bad for someone who in his own words is dyslexic and has ADD, according to Hank3 "my mind is all over the place". But even a man talented and driven enough to do (count 'em) seven jobs at once has his limits, so Hank3 has once again assembled a top-notch ensemble of pickers and pluckers for Brothers Of The 4x4 and A Fiendish Threat.

The required stand-up bass holds the low end down at the deft hands of Zach Shedd, with David McElfresh and Billy Contreras whipping razor sharp bows across the fiddle. Daniel Mason handles banjo, with a special guest appearance on Possum In A Tree by former National Old-Time Banjo Champion Leroy Troy working his banjo in the old school clawhammer style, while Andy Gibson wrings the sweetest of notes out his stand up steel guitar. Finally, long-time collaborator and fellow multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Johnny Hiland rips his chicken pickin' guitar to feathers and shreds.

With the release of Brothers of the 4x4 and A Fiendish Threat, Williams is ready to hit the road, and when he hits the road, he hits it much harder than most. Hank3 shows are legendary for their length and intensity, averaging three hours a night, starting with a country set and ending with whatever his latest musical experiment happens to be. For this touring cycle, fans will get to taste the hardcore punk horror rock of A Fiendish Threat, a rippingly fast blast of sounds reminiscent of The Misfits, Minor Threat, 7 Seconds, The Ramones and other punk rock greats that are as much a part of Hank 3's musical identity as his country roots. But A Fiendish Threat, like all of the man's musical output, is anything but a formulaic, by-the-numbers rehash of what has been previously done by others. Stand up bass, fiddle, and banjo are not exactly standard instruments in punk rock, but they are on this record, riding beneath 3's howling distorted vocals. Perhaps this is the birth of rebelcore punk? Whatever you want to call it, Williams has left his own touch on the genre, even utilizing a bizarrely beautiful Hula-music-on-acid sounding Hawaiian guitar at times. Some of the songs can make the listener feel like someone dropped LSD in their cheap draft beer at a CBGB matinee show headlined by a ghoulish Hawaiian punk band. A Fiendish Threat is yet another of Williams already numerous signature sounds, and he's excited to put it in front of the audience for the first time. You know when you do a new record, you just want to play it for all your friends. That's what I'm excited for with this punk record, I get use a voice that doesn't get used that often, and pay respects to some of my influences at the same time. Doing this record made feel like I was growing stronger- it took some of the years off me, to tell you the truth. Playing it makes me feel young again, he laughs, How long I will be able to pull it off all depends on the voice, man."

With these dual releases, Brothers Of The 4x4 and A Fiendish Threat added to his already huge and varied arsenal of music, Hank3 will be raising all sorts of hell on stage while the fans raise their glasses in the audience once again, and you can bet your last dollar a damn good time will be had by all. The man goes full throttle all the time, every time, as anyone who has ever been to one of his innumerable shows will attest.

Listen to Brothers of the 4x4 and A Fiendish Threat, go to a show, and find out for yourself. Just remember the next day, after a few aspirins, a dinner at your own table, and a sleep in your own bed, that Hank3 will be down the road doing his thing again, and for that rebel, "doing the best I can" means something a little different than it does for the average man.

The ultimate pressing of The Beach Boys' iconic album from Analogue Productions!
Pet Sounds, the 11th studio album by The Beach Boys, is acclaimed by critics
and musicians alike as one of the most influential works in the history of popular
music. Brian Wilson wrote and composed almost all of the songs - mono
mixes created under Wilson's supervision were how the surf rockin' California
crew rose to fame, and now Analogue Productions brings them to you with THE
definitive Pet Sounds reissue on 200-gram vinyl at 45 RPM pressed at Quality
Record Pressings. You get to choose - either the mono or stereo album version,
    or both!

The reception for our previously-issued 33 1/3 version drew praise from reviewer
Michael Fremer of AnalogPlanet.com who wrote: "The instrumental separation
and front-to-back layering is nothing short of astonishing compared to the pleasing
mush offered up by other editions." Acclaimed mastering engineer Kevin
Gray has been able to extract details heretofore uncaptured from the tape with
Brian Wilson's original mono mix "and present it in a way that is pleasing and
natural to the ear," wrote Lee Dempsey, for Endless Summer Quarterly.

Our stereo version was mixed from an assembled digital multi-track master that
synced the original 4-track master instrumental with the 4 or 8-track vocal overdub
master. The stereo mix was mixed to 15 ips 1/4" analog tape with SR noise reduction.

Even better, the 45 RPM versions of this historical musical masterpiece makes your
cartridge a near-perfect tracker by way of reduction of inner-groove distortion, a
clear sonic advantage. You get two 200-gram LPs in a beautiful tip-on gatefold
    jacket from Stoughton Printing.

Pet Sounds is famous for its use of multiple layers of unorthodox instrumentation as
well as other cutting edge audio techniques for its time. Conventional keyboards
and guitars were combined with exotic touches of orchestrated strings, bicycle
bells, buzzing organs, harpsichords, flutes, Theremin, Hawaiian-sounding string instruments,
Coca-Cola cans, barking dogs, and more. This classic has some of the
group's most stunning melodies - "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "God Only Knows," "Caroline
No," and "Sloop John B" (the last of which wasn't originally intended to go on
the album) are the well-known hits, but equally worthy are "You Still Believe in Me,"
"Don't Talk," "I Know There's an Answer," and "I Just Wasn't Made for These Times."

VH-1 named Pet Sounds as the No. 3 album in the Top 100 Albums in Rock 'n'
Roll History, as judged in a poll of musicians, executives and journalists. It's been
ranked No. 1 in several music magazines' lists of the greatest albums of all time,
