High-end belt-driven turntable with 10 EVO carbon fiber tonearm, outboard motor, and included isolation base

Beautiful, clever design with ultimate high-end sound quality

Thanks to extensive research and development, we have now elevated our classic RPM design to an even higher level. The RPM 10 Carbon uses a new extra-heavy chassis which features a special CNC-machined MDF base with resin-coated steel pellets to form an extra-heavy and precise sandwich construction. A special, complex heat treatment and carbon surface coating ensures superior low resonance levels. The mass-loaded chassis is effectively decoupled from its surface using magnetic feet. Combined with a new special polished aluminum platter with internal TPE damping and a vinyl layer on top, the inverted ceramic main bearing delivers an absolutely stable turntable speed with extra-low rumble due to the magnetic suspension of the platter. The heavy outboard motor unit is equipped with precise motor control and features a built-in switch between 33 & 45 rpm. Last but not least, the no-compromise 10 EVO tonearm with conical carbon-fiber arm tube and inverted bearing design ensures perfect tracking, even with demanding cartridges. Highly flexible, top-grade copper internal wiring is used. The RPM 10 Carbon is delivered with Ground it Carbon equipment base and top-grade 5P phono cable Connect It CC with RCA plugs.

    Ones and Sixes

Ones and Sixes is the new album from the Duluth-based trio of Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker and Steve Garrington, collectively known as Low. Ones and Sixes was co-produced by Low and BJ Burton at Justin Vernon's April Base Studios in Eau Claire, WI. "In our 20+ years of writing songs, I've learned that no matter how escapist, divergent, or even transcendent the creative process feels, the result is more beholden to what is going on at the moment. It's hard to admit that one is so influenced by what is in front of us. Doesn't it come from something magical and far away? No, it comes from here. It comes from now. I'm not going to tell you what this record is about because I have too much respect for that moment when you come to know it for yourself." - Alan Sparhawk, Low I spent much of 2002 in Germany, studying literature, collecting new experiences and attempting to process the existential crises so typical of your early 20s. Low - especially their album Things We Lost in the Fire, which I listened to for countless hours - was one of the few bands who helped me along with this. Their slow-growing, minimal, yet expansive songs just beg for introspection. Demand it, even. They cultivate a sense of grandeur and inquiry with their melancholic tone, which, if you're anything like me, sets you right down in front of the mirror for some much-neglected self-assessment. Is Low somehow The Velvet Undergound's song "I'll Be Your Mirror" transubstantiated into band form? As Alan said above, the meanings of the songs are transitory. Even if there was a specific impetus, nothing needs explaining beyond what the song itself reveals. It's an exercise on Low's end and, when the music is released, it becomes one for us. Ones and Sixes takes everything Low excels at and dips it in a heavy gold plating of industrial-leaning electronics. This catapults to new and extreme heights the innate beauty their music has always had. It's a series of contrasts: stunning and menacing, gorgeous and frightening, giving and desperate, and, ultimately, unbearably heavy and unbearably light. From one to six and back again. -Dee Dee Penny (Dum Dum Girls), NYC, June 2015

    False Priest

Of Montreals critical breakthrough Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? catapulted the band to the upper echelon of indie stardom. Their newest full-length False Priest finds mastermind Kevin Barnes teaming up with Grammy-nominated producer Jon Brion (Kanye West, Fiona Apple) at famed Ocean Way Recording (Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra).

False Priest is speaker rattling heavy on the low end and features appearances by Janelle Monáe and Solange Knowles (BeyoncÉs sister). The album also marks the return of organic instruments as live drums, strings and pianos eschew the midi sounds and sequencers of previous albums. False Priest features intricate packaging, including a 20-page booklet of new paintings from David Barnes and Gemini Tactics.

    Low-Z Power | Noise-Dissipation System

Redefining the Science of Power Conditioning

Niagara 1000 brings the benefits of highly optimized power management to far more music lovers.

Designed by Garth Powell, the Niagara 1000 embodies the very same design philosophy and incorporates the same patented technology found in its larger sibling, the Niagara 7000, but packs it into a smaller, sleeker enclosure-at a fraction of the price. Much like the Niagara 7000, the Niagara 1000 uses ultra-low resistance solid-core wiring optimized for low-noise directionality, capacitor forming technologies that vastly improve linearity and minimize distortion, and low impedance AC inlet and outlet contacts with heavy silver plating over high-purity Beryllium Copper for superior noise dissipation.

Similarly, Niagara 1000 features our non-sacrificial surge protection, Zero Ground-Contamination Technology, and over-voltage shutdown, ensuring that your customers' A/V systems are thoroughly protected from AC surges and spikes. While the Niagara 1000 lacks the 7000's sophisticated Transient Power Correction and Dielectric-Biased AC Isolation Transformers, it does employ our patented Ground-Noise Dissipation System and Ultra-Linear Noise-Dissipation Technology. And, whereas the Niagara 7000 has 12 AC outlets, the Niagara 1000 fits six high-performance outlets into its sleek chassis. In addition, input current maximum capacity-20 amps RMS in the Niagara 7000-is 15 amps RMS in the 1000.

Of course, the biggest differences between the 7000 and 1000 are also the most obvious: size, shape, and weight. The Niagara 7000 can be rack-mounted and measures 15.5" W x 5.24" H x 17.2" D and weighs an impressive 81lbs. The Niagara1000, however, is designed to be placed on a floor or atop a rack, beside or behind a hi-fi system, measures 4.75" W x 4.0" H x 20.0" D, and weighs a much more manageable 5.5lbs. Perhaps most important, at $995 US, Niagara 1000 brings the benefits of highly optimized power management to far more music lovers.

The First Cartridge Designed Specifically for VPI Tables

When two great minds like Harry Weisfeld of VPI and Peter Ledermann of Soundsmith get together, anything is possible. The result, in this case, is the VPI Zephyr by Soundsmith, the first cartridge to bear the VPI logo and the first cartridge optimized for all the unique parameters of VPI's JMW unipivot tonearms. The Zephyr is specifically designed to reduce azimuth smear, a distortion artifact created by unipivot tonearms and eccentric records.

The VPI Zephyr is incomparable when mounted to a VPI JMW tonearm. An extremely faithful tracker, the Zephyr suspension allows the tonearm to work its magic, revealing a whole new level of performance from the combination. The Zephyr's warm tonal balance clearly complements any VPI table, its ingenious construction matching VPI's own exceptional design.

"Peter Ledermann is one of the best cartridge designers, making some of the most musical cartridges in the world. I wanted a cartridge that sounded like his [$4,500] Sussuro to mate perfectly with the VPI Classic, both sonically and physically. Basically, I wanted the sound of the Sussuro at a much more reasonable price, built specifically for the Classic. The Zephyr fits the bill. It really sounds wonderful on the Classic. I set one up and it sounded incredible right away. It's a low compliance low output cartridge, with the smoothness of a reel to reel tape."

-- Harry Weisfeld, Owner and Lead Designer of VPI

A brilliant melding of technologies, the Zephyr is a hybrid design, with using the true elliptical stylus and lightweight aluminum cantilever from SSM's own Carmen and a trickle-down of the suspension and motor assembly from the Sussurro. This unique internal damping system provides proper transmission of energy through the entire moving system, creating a proper mechanical impedance match between cartridge and tonearm. This gives the Zephyr unparalleled speed, resolution and dynamic range with a gorgeous tonal balance to complement a wide variety of music.

The VPI Zephyr is a heavy weight cartridge at 10.27Gms and has low compliance making it best suitable for use with JMW tonearms. Output is 2.2mV, so the Zephyr works well with most MM phono preamps. Works with arms from 8Gms to 30Gms effective weight. All Soundsmith cartridges are Made in the USA.

    Moving Iron Design

A Moving Iron cartridge design has both the magnets and the coils fixed in place. A very low-mass and extremely precisely wound iron cross is affixed to the cantilever/stylus assembly and placed between the magnets and coils; as the iron cross moves in the magnetic field it generates signal voltage. Since only the iron cross moves, more coil windings (higher output) and heavier magnets (more powerful) may be used without penalty. Other advantages to the MI design are very low moving mass (greater resolution) and superior channel separation (better imaging).

    Then It All Came Down

Then It All Came Down is J.R. Robinson s second long-form composition as Wrekmeister Harmonies. Employing an enormous ensemble of some of Chicago s best talents in the metal and experimental communities, including Wrest (Leviathan), Ryley Walker, and members of Indian, Corrections House, Twilight, Yakuza, Anatomy of Habit, Come, Mind Over Mirrors, and Bloodiest, Robinson has created a work that is equally gorgeous and menacing. The CD edition also includes 2013 s You ve Always Meant So Much To Me (on CD for the first time), bringing the total running time to over 73 minutes. Few artists have perfected the nuances of beauty as well as annihilation, and Robinson s mastery of both sides of the spectrum makes his a unique voice in the field of doom. J.R. Robinson perceives life as a long, gradual process of decay. Lightness fades into darkness, while innocence succumbs to the evils of modern society. His music reflects not only this worldview but his emotional response to it. Then It All Came Down is an exploration of that existential deterioration and an attempt at attaining a deeper understanding of its process. Then It All Came Down opens with a low, soft drone, creeping in almost imperceptibly. Bells chime as more tonal voices emerge from the ether, Walker s acoustic guitar echoing in the abyssal soundscape. Several women sing as sirens: Beautiful Sun. The piece is inspired by and takes its name from an essay written by Truman Capote following his interview with Manson-associate Bobby Beausoleil (which translates as beautiful sun ), whose dangerous spirit and embodiment of occult ideals offer an extreme example of the light into dark transition the piece explores. As the soft drones and angelic voices are replaced with threatening rumbles of distortion and low cackles courtesy of Wrest, an overwhelming sense of unease permeates the piece s atmosphere, only a harbinger of what is to come. When the piece does explode into crushing howls and heavy doom, all semblance of tranquility and stillness, the light, the peace, is exterminated. Then It All Came Down was debuted at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago under a full moon in July of 2013, the first in a continuing yearly series called Beyond The Gate. The series continued in 2014 with a debut of another new Wrekmeister composition which will be released in early 2015. Wrekmeister Harmonies will continue to bring large-scale productions involving a rotating cast of guest musicians to unconventional performance spaces throughout 2014-15, and has a future collaboration planned with The Body. An essay by Robinson about Beausoleil s influence on Charles Manson and his ideological lineage from Alastair Crowley is available for deeper insights into Robinson s fascination with the controversial cult figure.

    Killing Machine

Killing Machine on Numbered Limited Edition LP from Mobile Fidelity Silver Label

Smoking-Hot 1978 Set Released as Hell Bent For Leather in the United States

Produced by Pink Floyd The Wall Engineer James Guthrie: Uncompromising Album and Exacting Performances Remain Hard Rock and Metal Bedrocks

Marries Streetwise Aggression to Commercial Accessibility, Overflows With Confidence, Boldness, and Diversity

Includes Metal Standards Hell Bent for Leather, Evening Star, and Delivering the Goods

Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI

Released the same year as the equally pivotal Stained Class, Killing Machine cemented Judas Priest's standing and reputation as the world's foremost metal band of the late 1970s. Further diversifying its music and sporting increased confidence, boldness, and full-bodied songwriting, the album managed a then-unprecedented task of appealing to mainstream tastes via its impeccably solid production, creative prowess, and staggering melodies. Known in the United States as Hell Bent for Leather, Killing Machine remains a titanic release no matter the name.

Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI, this Silver Series numbered limited edition LP broadens the scope of the original production, helmed by none other than Pink Floyd The Wall producer James Guthrie. Besting those on all previous editions, the low-end thrust, high-frequency dynamics, and all-important midrange now come alive with unsurpassed detail and accuracy. Soundstaging and imaging positively explode before your eyes and ears, and instrumental separation allows insight into band's tight-fisted interplay.

Recognizing the era's potential and pushing to expand metal's horizons, Priest created music that at the time hadn't any peer. With proto-metal luminaries Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin experiencing career low points, and campy hard rockers following a softer path, the English quintet married street-bruising intensity to commercial accessibility without compromising any aggression, volatility, rawness, or ruggedness. Part of the success owes to Guthrie's expert hand. A majority, however, lies with the group's unrelenting ambition and variety-not to mention masterful performances.

Exemplified in the breakthrough "Hell Bent for Leather," as tough-as-nails resilient as any metal song and delivered by vocalist Rob Halford with a pronounced ruffian attitude as guitars blaze behind him, Killing Machine sparks with high-powered muscle and concise, exact rhythmic structures. Halford comes into his own throughout, sending his falsetto into another universe on the wide-open highway-driving anthem "Evening Star," evoking deep loss on the ballad "Before the Dawn," and attacking "Delivering the Goods" as if he's a mercenary. There's not a wasted note or moment of doubt on the album.

To author and metal expert Martin Popoff, music doesn't get any better. "To my mind, Killing Machine was the apex, the hallowed halls of heavy metal which Priest summarily occupied alone at this particular juncture in time," writes Popoff in his The Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time. "The songs on this record sweat the corners and creases of all of metal's characteristics, Priest firing on and off all speeds, from quick and note-dense to positively glacial."

Channel Islands Audio is proud to announce the release of our long-awaited PEQ•1 MKII MM/MC Phono Preamplifier!

    Features

    • Ultra-Low noise

    • Ultra-Low harmonic & intermodulation distortion (THD/IMD)

    • Dual-Mono Design for low crosstalk

    • Heavy steel faraday cage for high resistance to electromagnetic and radio frequency interference

    • Rear panel DIP switches for convenient configuration & adjustment

    • 5 Year Warranty

    • Handcrafted in USA

The PEQ•1 is a versatile design offering outstanding performance with a wide variety of phono cartridge types.

This new dual-mono design is aimed at music lovers seeking the utmost life-like performance from their vinyl collection. Dynamic and detailed, yet smooth and rich, with soundstage and imaging to create realism rarely heard.

    Power

The internal design of PEQ•1 starts with a dual AC input (one for each channel).

When the outboard power supply is connected, the AC is fed to two independent filter/regulation circuits (1 per channel). These circuits feed the L & R audio stages with ultra-low noise on par with the best battery technologies, and without the inconvenience. There is also a Chassis Ground switch to optimize chassis shielding.

The standard AC supply is an AC wall adapter type with a single winding feeding the L&R circuits.

This supply is 120V input only.

Countries with 220~240V mains must use the AC·15 MKII Upgrade Supply.

The AC·15 MKII Upgrade Supply Features:

    • Large Toroidal Transformer with dual outputs (1 per channel)

    • AC Line Filtering

    • Dual common-mode choke filtering (1 per channel)

    • 120V/240V Selectable Input Voltage

    • Rear Panel Power Switch

    • Detachable AC Input & Output cables

    Audio Circuit

Input signals are connected via highest quality Cardas™ panel-mounted RCA jacks. The input jacks are routed to two independent mono circuits of identical layout. This assures exact performance from both channels and reduces crosstalk.

Circuit topology consists of an input gain stage with selectable resistive load, capacitance, gain, and subsonic filter. This gain stage is followed by a passive high frequency cut, then an active bass boost to create the RIAA equalization curve, then to the output jacks.

Careful layout yields a very short signal path from input to output, and a combination of star grounding power supply components/ground plane for the audio circuits, result in a silent background and immunity to EMI/RFI pickup. The entire circuit board is then housed in a heavy steel faraday cage to further reject outside interference, then inside the attractive aluminum outer chassis.

Highest quality components are used throughout:

Cardas™ jacks, Nichicon Muse™ NP power supply capacitors, Vishay™ 2% Polypropylene signal and bypass capacitors, Takman™ metal film & carbon films resistors, and Grayhill™ switches.

    5 Year Warranty

Enjoy peace of mind with our comprehensive 5 year warranty. Full service information is included in the product manual.

    Clinging To A Scheme

On their 2010 third release, Clinging To A Scheme, The Radio Dept. combined the most unequalled components of their previous two albums with winning results. Heavens On Fire is a passionate and yet passively aggressive attack on the unknown in an almost cheerful song with a hip-hop beat, obstinate guitars and a driving house-piano while Never Follow Suit has got Johan Duncansons hushed voice glued to a heavy bass, backbeat piano and shimmering flutes. Clinging To A Scheme is a low-key but intense soliloquy on issues of belonging and not belonging. Reissued on 180g vinyl!

Supergroup is such an erroneous term - images of bored playboys pissing on their legacy spring to mind - but the members of With The Dead have a history of creating criminally good records as long as your arm. They've all served hard time in the subterranean worlds of Doom and the heaviest forms of Metal and have now reconvened to surpass previous projects. They're back - and this time the aim is To maim.

With The Dead were formed by the founding rhythm section of occultist Doom overloads Electric Wizard: guitarist/bassist Tim Bagshaw and drummer Mark Greening, a pair once notorious for the sheer brute heaviness of their bowel-shaking sound and early extra-curricular activities that involved excess, injury and low-level criminality (arrests for the theft of a crucifix from a church roof and drunkenly robbing an off-licence to name but two). Both have also played together in Ramesses.

Completing the triangle is frontman Lee Dorrian, co-founder of Doom pioneers Cathedral, former frontman with grindcore legends Napalm Death and owner of Rise Above Records, the UK's finest independent purveyors of all sounds heavy and underground, whose stable of bands include Ghost, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Lucifer, Blood Ceremony and Witchcraft. Having been in business since 1988, Rise Above is also one of the most enduring.

Existing doom-heads will already know that the longstanding relationship between Rise Above and Electric Wizard is one that was fractious and fraught. Much mud has been slung between band, label and former members in recent years, but the With The Dead trio are of the opinion that big words meant little - it's the action that truly counts. And as the fire that is Electric Wizard peters out, With The Dead burn with eyebrow-singeing intensity. With The Dead are heavy. No - scratch that. With The Dead are heavy. H.E.A.V.Y!!! They are a band with teeth and talons.

Like the product of some sort of alchemical alignment or a diabolical modern demon summoned by a whispered incantatory spell, With The Dead formed on All Hallow's Eve 2014. They worked quickly and the result is a six-track, self-titled debut broadside
that draws on the members' rich musical legacy but without ever taking a backward step. Rising like a fecund creature from the fetid bogs of old England, With The Dead is a malevolent beast that lurches and staggers, flattening everything in its path. Guitars moil and curdle, bubbling up through the loam like black tar, while existing fans will surely welcome the return of Dorrian's distinctly hateful vocals.

Any listener will be left battered on the floor, bludgeoned into submission by With The Dead's musical brutality. A new era is upon us.

Hooking up a computer to a DAC seems is becoming an increasingly popular way to listen to music and there are many purpose built DACs for doing exactly this. There are also a lot DACs being used primarily with CD and for that matter CD players with USB inputs. So connecting a laptop up to the DAC via a USB cable is a simple way to start exploring streaming services like Spotify or Tidal. If you do this then the C-USB is a very good cable to try.

Comparing different USB cables is very like comparing any other audio cables. The differences are very easy to hear. Pick a piece of music you know well, listen to it via a standard USB cable and then with the C-USB in place. Detail will be clearer, voices more natural and critically, music should sound more coherent and easier to listen to.

We understand the theory suggesting these cables should have no effect, but we don't make cables unless they produce a better listening experience. Don't take our word for it, however. Try one for yourself!

Heavy gauge, oxygen-free, silver-plated conductors. Low loss, gas foamed polyethylene insulation. Twisted pair data conductor configuration. Dual layer, high frequency effective shielding. Gold-plated plug and signal pins.

    Available in 0.75m, 1.5m, 3m and 5m lengths

AmpsandSound Products Are Handmade In Small Batches and Go Through Extensive Quality Control

The Stereo 15 Special Edition is an EL84 ultra linear amp with 15watts of tube bliss. 2 EL84 tubes in push-pull configuration with ½ of a 12AX7 and ½ of a 12BH7 per channel, just like our original Stereo 15. The Stereo 15 Special Edition is based on the famous Halfer circuit with cathode bias allowing trouble free operation. 8ohm and 4ohm taps with 8ohm and 16ohm combination as an option. The circuit used is widely famed for its stability and liquid midrange.

The Stereo 15 Special Edition produces perfectly stable 15watts RMS with 42watt peaks. The output transformers utilize massive cores which resist saturation and deliver jaw dropping low end performance. Like all ampsandsound amplifiers, it is dead quiet with reliable performance. When we say dead we mean put your ear to the mouth of your horn-loaded system and all you will hear is silence!

Never leaving well enough alone, the Special Edition is for those who demand the very last degree of performance. Where the Stereo 15 Special Edition differs is in the use of custom wound transformers made exclusively for ampsandsound. The power transformer is nearly twice as heavy as the unit used in the Stereo 15 and allows for greater current delivery/reserves and the use of a tube rectifier. We have specified the use of a GZ34, and can accommodate GZ37s; 5U4s allows NOS rectifiers. Tube set included.

    Analog Drive System (ADS)

The ADS design includes two pure analog frequency generators featuring low distortion and noise; a high current Class-A/B amplifier that is transformer-coupled to the turntable output; analog control logic for low noise operation; 33/45 RPM analog speed adjustment controls with center detent positions that are factory calibrated for 60/81Hz; analog logic controlled run/stop switching with the output RMS voltage @ 120VAC on startup, followed by a step down to 90VAC after an 8-second delay for quick starting of heavy platters.

    Operational features

The ADS includes a lighted power on/off switch allowing it to remain powered up during listening sessions for the oscillators to remain warmed up for lowest distortion. There is a separate run/stop switch to control the motor operation. The ADS also utilizes separate 60 Hz and 81 Hz oscillators to eliminate unnecessary switching circuitry in the oscillator circuits for long term speed stability and low oscillator distortion. Turntable speed is chosen using a switch located between the 33 RPM and 45 RPM speed adjustment controls; LEDs indicate the Run/Stop condition and chosen speed. Speed adjustment controls provide a center detent position that is factory calibrated to 60 and 81Hz +/- .02 Hz in their center detented position. The controls also provide fine speed adjustment of approximately 3 Hz through continuously variable linear adjustment controls. The circuitry provides a startup voltage of approximately 120VAC for 8 seconds on startup to assist quick speed ramp of heavier platters, then reduces to 92VAC for its steady state run voltage.

    Speed Control and adjustment

The front panel contains a two-position push-button switch for selecting either 33 RPM or 45 RPM operation. Pressing the switch either latches it in or releases the switch to its outward position for 33 RPM operation. There are separate speed adjustment controls for 33 and 45 RPM. The controls have a detented center position that is factory calibrated for 60 Hz (33 RPM) and 81 Hz (45 RPM). The speed is also continuously adjustable +/- 3 Hz for fine tuning of the platter speed using a stroboscopic disk and 60 HZ light source. Blue LED indicators adjacent to the controls indicate which speed is set at a glance.

    Motor Stop and Run

The ADS is meant to be left powered on during the listening session. The platter is started and stopped by the front panel Run/Stop momentary push-button switch. There is an LED indicator the glows red when stopped and green when the platter is turning.

    System power

There is an IEC power module on the rear panel to supply AC power to the ADS. The IEC module contains a fuse drawer that holds a 1-amp slow blow fuse protecting the ADS from electrical system malfunctions.

AC power to the ADS is controlled by the power switch located on the left-hand side of the front panel. When the ADS is powered up, the indicator in the switch glows blue indicating the internal power supplies are functioning properly.

    Output to Turntable

The 125 VAC max output to the motor is supplied by the identified AC receptacle on the rear panel. The receptacle output provides a maximum 20 watts. Higher wattage loads will seriously damage the ADS.

The new Gemini3.0 - the best just got upgraded.

With generic mass-produced USB cables, the data and power cables are normally compacted. This means that they do not conduct anywhere near as well as they should (imagine laying signal and power cables together in a high-end audio system!) and are not sufficiently shielded from each other. This negatively impacts on the USB signal quality that in turn, hampers sound quality.

    Not so with the Gemini3.0.

As with the original Gemini cable, the Gemini3.0 carries audio and power in two separate cables. This separates the delicate USB data signal from the USB power.

It employs heavy OFHC continuous copper silver matrix conductors for the best possible signal transfer. The construction is a custom minimum inductance parallel type with quadruple shields - this construction protects the cable from RFI and EMI noise to provide the cleanest transfer medium possible.

With the machined FINAL connectors and atypical RF3 filter designs, the iFi Gemini3.0 sets a whole new sonic benchmark for computer audio transmission.

    Need for speed

USB3.0 is vastly superior to USB2.0 at handling high-data volumes.

The USB3.0 platform mandates better connectors and higher quality cables - the new Gemini3.0 meets these needs with ease. This much higher standard transmission platform means USB audio passes with the least disturbance. It is akin to driving on a newly paved highway compared to with potholes. The former enables faster, smoother and less-jittery audio & power transfer. The sonic benefits are proof for all to hear.

As audio transmission standards improve, the Gemini3.0 with its USB ultra-speed bandwidth of 5.0Gbps, is also future-proofed.

    The Gemini difference continues

As with the original Gemini cable, in the Gemini3.0 the power cable is heavier gauge and audio has more cores. Furthermore, signal and ground have their own respective geometry for optimal conductivity.

There are dual-headed designs and then there is the Gemini3.0 Dual-Headed design. Nothing comes close.

    Exceptional from beginning to end

In the Gemini3.0 the signal runs through the cable and the connector. This means the connector too must be exceptional.

Most USB cables use moulded plastic covered connections that do not shield the high frequencies present in the USB data link, so noise will radiate out. Durability is also compromised as very few make their own connectors.

The FINAL USB connectors provide impeccable end-to-end RF shielding, being machined entirely from solid, aircraft-grade aluminium. Plus gold-plated connections make for years of steadfast service.

    The power of RF3

Most standard USB cables do not address RF issues. Most 'off the shelf' versions that are fitted with filters work over too narrow a range. And even then this is only fitted at the ends of the cables, leaving the length of the cable to act as an antennae.

The Gemini3.0 is fitted with three custom-made metal oxide ceramic RF noise silencers. Each has a different effective range so that they greatly broaden the range over which RF noise is silenced. Furthermore, the middle silencer is adjustable and can be moved along the whole length of the cable. This then "detunes" the antennae formed by the cable, depending on the conditions and requirements in the system. The other 2 silencers should be kept as close to each respective end as possible.

A match made in USB heaven

The Gemini3.0 is a perfect match with the iGalvanic3.0 and the micro/nano USB3.0.

The iGalvanic3.0 fully galvanically isolates the USB3.0/2.0 signal and power.

The micro/nano USB3.0 both boast a Super Regulator, not only with super low-noise (0.1uV/0.5uV) but also with super low output impedance (around 0.00015 Ohm at 1KHz, as low as 0.00003 Ohm at 100Hz to DC) to maximise the total USB connection.

The new Mercury3.0 - the best just got upgraded.

As we don't believe in sibling rivalry, we've given the Mercury single run cable the same treatment as the Gemini to create the new Mercury3.0.

With generic mass-produced USB cables, the data and power cables are normally packed together. This means that they do not conduct as well as they should and they are not sufficiently shielded from each other. This has a negative impact on USB signal integrity and degrades sound quality.

    The Mercury3.0 breaks the mould.

The Mercury has quadruple shielding to fully separate and protect the delicate USB data signal from the USB power.

It employs heavy OFHC continuous copper silver matrix conductors for the best possible signal transfer. The construction is a custom minimum inductance parallel type with quadruple shields - this protects the cable from RFI and EMI noise to provide the cleanest transfer medium possible.

With custom machined FINAL connectors and an even better RF3 filter design, sonically, the iFi Mercury3.0 USB computer audio cable sets a whole standard for USB3.0 and USB2.0.

    Power For Your System

The MM7055 power amplifier produces 140 watts of high current output from each of its five channels. This is "real world" power, too, measured across the full audio bandwidth (20 Hz - 20 kHz) at 8 ohms with 0.08% Total Harmonic Distortion. Among other attributes, this means the MM7055 is capable of long-term power delivery into low impedance speakers.

    The Many Faces of Excellence

In practical terms, the MM7055 is ideal for a "5.1" home theater system, whether based on a moderately powered receiver or a surround sound processor. You can use it to power speakers in different areas of your home; stereo reproduction in two rooms plus a mono channel for secondary areas such as a den or kitchen. For more complex home theater systems, the MM7055 pairs with one or several MM7025s to help create a totally immersive "7.1" or "9.1" audio experience.

    Inside The MM7055

A massive power supply includes a multiple-secondary EI-core transformer and over 65,000 µF of custom-designed energy storage capacity. Critical circuit components from many world-class suppliers were chosen only after extensive listening tests. Among these, the LAPT Hyper Power output devices were first used in Reference Series components. Current feedback topology insures astounding accuracy and control under high-drive conditions.

    A Temperature-Controlled Environment

Physically, the MM7055's output stages mount on an extruded aluminum "thermal tunnel" for efficient heat dissipation. With temperature-sensing forced air cooling, this configuration assures cool operating temperatures for long-term reliability, even when making full use of the amplifier's substantial output capabilities.

    Flexible Connections

Balanced inputs and single-ended RCA inputs are both supported, and you can choose either type of input for each channel, individually, for easy and flexible connectivity. Audiophile grade, gold-plated four-way binding post speaker terminals insure tight connections to your choice of speaker wire.

    Custom Touches

The MM7055 includes input and output jacks for DC "trigger" pulses as well as RC-5 jacks for total remote control convenience, even with legacy Marantz products.

The chassis itself is heavy gauge steel for maximum isolation from external vibration as well as electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. And chassis depth is less than 14½" so the MM7055 will fit quite nicely on a shelf, in a cabinet, or in a conventional system rack with the optional rack mount kit RMK8003MM.

Power. Functionality. Dependability. And classic looks. The MM7055 is, simply speaking, a Marantz.

    Sempiternal

Heralded as one of the most anticipated albums of the year, Bring Me The Horizon's upcoming fourth studio album, Sempiternal, is the defining sound of heavy music in 2013. Proving to be perpetual favorites among fans, the album's first single "Shadow Moses" came charging out of the gates after premiering on Zane Lowe's BBC's Radio 1, forcing Epitaph to post the song on YouTube a week in advance due to popular demand.

There's a very euphoric sound coursing through the album, a very uplifting but yet sad sound, says front-man Oliver Sykes. Electronically, it's far more advanced than anything we've done before.

The five piece, consisting of Oliver Sykes, Lee Malia, Matt Kean, Matt Nicholls and Jordan Fish, recorded Sempiternal over a three month period with super producer Terry Date (Linkin Park, Deftones, Soundgarden). The band also brought in David Bendeth (A Day To Remember, Paramore) to add to the all-star production line-up and mix the album.

Writing Sempiternal was a completely different process, comments Sykes. We worked from a computer, laying down ideas and riffs and working on them tirelessly until we had what we wanted. For the first time, Sempiternal sees a new member appearing on the record, Jordan Fish, who takes on keyboard duties on the record as well as during live performances. Bringing Jordan into the mix changed things completely; he opened up so many more possibilities.

Sykes goes on to say, The lyrical theme is everything. My head was a lot clearer when writing this time and it allowed me to write from a different perspective. It's the best stuff I've ever written in my opinion. It's very dramatic, quite blunt, and at times sarcastic, but the biggest part of it - is how it is combined with the music to bring the listener vivid imagery and emotion. I think we really managed to pull that off.

Sempiternal is an embracing ride through soaring vocals, supercharged melodies and what can only be described as spine tingling metal anthems. After the critical and commercial success of their previous albums, There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret (2010) and their breakout success Suicide Season (2008), Bring Me The Horizon plan to take heavy music to the next level, incorporating the most dynamic elements of hard music to create the most exhilarating album of the year.

    Twilight Of The Gods

180 Gram Reissue of Bathorys Sixth Album!

Twilight of the Gods is the sixth album by Bathory. It continues the exploration of the newly created Viking metal style, and also displays a heavy classical influence; it is titled after an opera by Wagner, and the melody of Hammerheart is lifted from Gustav Holst's The Planets (more specifically, from the fourth movement, Jupiter). Bathory was formed in Stockholm in 1983. Founder Quorthon, a seventeen-year-old guitarist, was joined by bassist Hanoi and drummer Vans. After various name changes (beginning with Nosferatu, then Natas, Mephisto, Elizabeth Bathory and Countess Bathory) they finally settled on Bathory. Their first recording deal came that same year, when Quorthon managed to secure the consent of Tyfon Grammofon's boss to record two tracks for the compilation Scandinavian Metal Attack. The tracks which he recorded gained unexpected attention by fans.[citation needed] Soon afterward, Tyfon Grammofon contacted Quorthon and asked him to record a full-length album. Although Venom's Black Metal, released in 1982, was the first record to coin the term, it was Bathory's early albums, featuring Satanic lyrics, low-fi production and an inhuman vocal style, that defined the genre. Many fans have speculated Venom was an influence on Bathory; however, Quorthon has said in an interview with Kick Ass magazine in 1985 he only heard of Venom after the first Bathory album was released. He also expressed dislike for many influential and popular heavy metal bands at the time, such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. He has also stated the band's early work was influenced primarily by Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and punk rock. Bathory's self-titled debut album, and the subsequent releases The Return and Under the Sign of the Black Mark, are now regarded as major influences on the Norwegian bands which extended black metal's musical progression and popularity in the beginning of the 1990s.
