    Hell Yeah

Pioneers, philosophers, trailblazers, in short: prophets always have to assemble their flocks abroad before they find due recognition in their homelands. This also applies to the German artform KMFDM. Whether in the US, Japan, Australia or elsewhere (where they sold hundred thousands of records and embarked on various sold out tours) - for over a quarter of a century they are the epitome and synonym for a musical style of the harder variety: Industrial Rock. KMFDM pioneered the crossover between techno/dance and heavy metal, creating their unique sound and were one of the first bands to bring Industrial Rock to mainstream. They influenced bands such as Rammstein with whom they were touring the US - with KMFDM headlining. The band was founded in 1984 and rapidly evolved year by year through intense experimentation and touring. They have managed to redefine themselves with every new release.

Now KMFDM are preparing to release their first new studio album in over 3 years entitled HELL YEAH via earMUSIC. An EP, YEAH! was released earlier to whet fans appetite and features some great remixes. Lead single HELL YEAH is an instant KMFDM classic with its ultra-heavy beat and Sascha Konietzko s trademark cynical lyrics. The album ranges from songs that are sometimes political (FAKE NEWS, TOTAL STATE MACHINE) to more techno/dance tracks (MURDER MY HEART and Rx 4 THE DAMNED).

With its cover artwork having been created by Aidan Hughes aka BRUTE!, HELL YEAH will be available on 2xLP Gatefold (180 Gram/45 RPM).

    Raising Hell

Up until Raising Hell, the rap juggernaut we know as Run-DMC was still in its building and breaking-down- doors phase. In 1986 that
changed, and in a dramatic way. With their third long-player, the group had reached the mountaintop. It was THE record that proved
    hip-hop wasn't a fad.

Raising Hell marked an important and significant new era for the group. Leaving producer Larry Smith for up-and- coming sonic
innovator Rick Rubin (still co-produced by Run's brother Russell Simmons), they began to fully transition not only their own sound, but
the sound of the entire genre. Less live playing - with some exceptions - and a slicker, tighter sonic attack. Musical aesthetics aside,
though, at their core they stayed true to the essence of hip-hop: two turntables and a microphone, or two.

It's impossible to talk about the album without its worldwide smash, "Walk This Way," which hit #4 on the Billboard pop charts and saw
the group digging in the rock crates to summon Aerosmith in the flesh, combining Steven Tyler's and Joe Perry's musicianship with the
group's own take on the '70s classic. The song's video cemented Run-DMC as legit MTV
idols, and both groups rode its wave to new heights.

Beyond "Walk This Way," the platter is full to the hilt with undeniable classic singles: "You Be Illin'"; "It's Tricky"; "Peter Piper" and the
fashion-world shifting "My Adidas." Each song was new proof that Run-DMC's sound was indeed new, but still familiar, and full of the
energy, charisma and innovation that drew fans to their first two LPs.

Aside from the singles, the reason the album stands up so well is the fact that there is virtually no filler. "Proud To Be Black" remains a
pioneering and underrated cut when people talk about "conscious" hip-hop. And to make sure they never lost the streets that gave them
their start, "Hit It Run," "Son Of Byford," "Is It Live" and "Perfection" all bring it back to the group's early days in the park.
Besides the triple platinum status the album achieved, it was more than just a pop smash. It signaled a new era for rap music, and it was
the no-turning- back point for the entire genre. This was the beginning of what we now call the Golden Era, and it still sounds as fresh
today as it did three decades ago.

    First Light's Freeze

A dark, mutant-country sound infused with strands of free-jazz and a late-70's Nashville big-radio strut hijacked by post-punk unravelers. The result is a beautiful mix of somber reflection, destination-unknown travelogue, and subversive anti-war boogie. Freeze confronts the mythology of war and friendship; the close proximity of things painful and pleasurable, and the complications of this as a paradigm for the world. Castanets suggest artistic geography as transcontinental as Merle Haggard, Albert Ayler, Television, and Richard and Mimi Farina.

    All Hell (Awaiting Repress)

One thing that has come out of sharing our lives through songs and touring is the comforting knowledge that we all live, breathe, suffer, and survive together, says singer Davey Muise.

No matter how dark the past or deep the problems, each of us have the power to let everything out through music and begin to not only heal but rebuild. All Hell is everything we've been through, all the problems, all the pain, all the lessons we've learned or were forced to face. But make no mistake. These songs aren't confessions - they're us being proud and owning the people we are now. This record is you on the other side of the hell you've gone through: better, stronger, and ready for more. No matter what you fought through, bled about and survived, we feel it, we're with you and this records is our anthem. This is the sound when All Hell comes crashing down.

    Cowboys From Hell

Pantera's 1990 major label debut Cowboys From Hell was as heavy as anything of its day and it served as both the band's breakthrough and a great influence on the state of metal music. Featuring the guitar virtuosity of Dimebag Darrell and the vocal ferocity of Phil Anselmo front and center, Cowboys From Hell turned Pantera into the preeminent metal band of the early '90s and put the remnants of the '80s metal scene to rest. Highlights include Cemetery Gates, Psycho Holiday, Primal Concrete Sledge and the title track.

    Hell Awaits (Awaiting Repress)

With their second full length album and third overall, Slayer upped the ante in every way possible. Breakneck tempos, gruesome lyrics and proper production gave the band a progressive and distinct sound that was becoming all their own. Hell Awaits is where the band began to sound truly sinister and evil and Dave Lombardo's famous double bass drumming brilliantly propells the lightspeed riffing and twisted solos of Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman here. Bassist Tom Araya's dark and demonic lyrics touched on everything from the mind of a serial killer in Kill Again to vampires on At Dawn They Sleep and the unhinged lust of Necrophiliac. Hell Awaits stands as one of best black and thrash metal documents of the '80s and its influence is vast and undeniable.

Originally released on two EPs and mired in controversy, Love Is Hell is a staggeringly personal report on romantic desolation, personal frustration, and incurable loneliness whose themes play out via splendidly crooned vocals, chamber-pop strings, and spare pianos. The excising of pain has rarely sounded more bittersweet-or spiritual.

    From Hell To Texas

Nashville Pussy came together in 1996. Albums such as Let Them Eat Pussy (1998), High As Hell (2000) or Say Something Nasty (2002) have caused an international stir, and their 1999 single release ´Fried Chicken And Coffee` earned the band a Grammy nomination in the category ´Best Metal Performance`. We were tired of seeing and hearing bands that were just going through rock 101 motions, all slick but with no real soul. So we decided to play the kind of music that we would like to hear, comments Ruyter Suys on the birth of her band. A renowned American music magazine rightly referred to Nashville Pussy as One of the hardest working bands in show biz today.

Following the release of their previous album in September of 2005, Get Some, complete with a cover version of Ike & Tina Turner's 'Nutbush City Limits', the band set out on an extensive tour, determined to document impressively what their audience had come to expect under the heading of 'kick ass live show' (captured on the new DVD Live in Hollywood), and this is precisely what the band's European fans can look forward to in the beginning of 2012. Cartwright: We tour Europe for three weeks starting end of January and expect as always: kick ass rock n' roll based on our re-release of 2009s From Hell To Texas. The debut album See You in Hell from New Wave of British Heavy Metal stalwarts Grim Reaper was originally released in Europe in 1983, with the rest of the world following a year later. The album is a perfect example of the way Heavy Metal guitar lines and vocals are blended together in consistently strong tracks. It's a keeper in which the band is kicking hard, but also got some lighter moments, for example in the track The Show Must Go On. When the heavy metal riffage got them knocking on your door they're reaching out for their most effective songs, like Dead on Arrival and title song See You in Hell. With their dynamics and rhythms they created on of their finest albums. Naturally, a band wearing leather and album artwork depicting 'satanic' imagery also received what is nowadays laughable allegations of demon-worship. Sadly, we can assure you there are no hidden messages in this album if you play it backwards .

    Hell Bent For Letters

Alternative Tentacles tosses our well-worn thinking cap into the no-holds-barred, no-child-left-behind ring of Educore with Hell Bent for Letters, the latest outing by Seattle's BLOODHAG. Formed in 1995 to stimulate a communion between literacy and punk/metal, BLOODHAG boasts a lineup of noted science fiction authors Prof. J. B. Stratton, Dr. J. M. McNulty, Sir Zachary Orgel and the shadowy occultist Master Brent Carpenter. They created the genre of Edu-core and operate under the motto Th e faster you go deaf, the more time you have to read.

While BLOODHAG's minute-long songs have the common theme of esteemed authors such as George Orwell and Philip K. Dick--and their live shows include between-song mini-lectures as well as pelting of the audience with books--the music counters with the blunt force of bands like BRUJERIA, PANTERA, SEPULTURA, etc.

It's open to debate whether Edu-core can actually pummel literary history into the hungry minds of head-banging youth, but we certainly can't blame BLOODHAG for trying to bridge the gap between death metal tombs and Pulizerwilling tomes or the beer-soaked venues and pristine libraries (yes, they really tour public libraries).

With their neckties and pocket protectors cocked and loaded, BLOODHAG is ready to stave off the dumbing down of America. So, invest in the leaders of tomorrow! Buy Hell Bent for Letters today!

Glorifyingly hooked on demonics, they make some of the heaviest, snuggie underwear-soiling sounds this side of SPAZZ and BRUJERIA, while mixing in some Reading Rainbow, -Thrasher Magazine

    Trip Thru Hell

    Gold Colored Vinyl

The C.A. Quintet's journey to Hades burned hot enough to melt the ice in their frigid Minnesota environs. A coveted collectable since the psychedelic record collecting disaster whirl first started over 30 years ago, Trip Thru Hell (1968) is rightly regarded as the epitome of local psych-cum-garage rising above its humble roots into something truly monolithic.

Evolving from the local circuit into a hellish beast of keyboards, lysergic lyrics, trippy guitars and even subtle trumpet parts, the C.A. Quintet's vision of the netherworld glowed in flaming orange, red and yellow as their instincts took over. Kicking off with the chilling psychedelicized keyboard-led instrumental title track, the album singes the psyche of the listener with an array of atmospheric beelzefuzz on "Colorado Mourning," sitar-like solos intertwining with fuzz and horns on "Underground Music," and the more benevolent Lucifer on "Smooth As Silk," which swirls with keys and harmony vocals to underscore a brilliant melody. Mortals dare not venture to the sinister realm of the "Cold Spider" and especially not "Sleepy Hollow Lane," a mistier place than even the Chocolate Watchband could dream of visiting.

As the first label to give this distinguished work the treatment it deserved 20 years ago, Sundazed returns with this gold vinyl reissue reproducing all of the original artwork and ensuring the authentic analog sound of psychedelia.

It is the impassioned sound of reason, anthems of a bittersweet idealism and a guarded hope set to propulsive guitars and charging drumbeats. And while most groups with even half the artistic output have long ago morphed into stylistic self-parody, Bad Religion is currently surging forward with a renewed creative intensity. Their fourteenth album is both a nod to the band's defiant past and an undeniable step forward in the evolution of a genre they helped to define. Look for them on this summer's Warped Tour, inspiring a new generation of fans.

Gate Fold Blue Vinyl Reissue of Witchfinder Generals second album. Witchfinder General are a doom metal band from Stourbridge, England. They were part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene and have been cited as a major influence on the doom metal genre. Death Penalty is the debut album by NWOBHM band Witchfinder General. It was released in 1982 on Heavy Metal Records. The album received some criticism for the cover photograph, which featured topless model Joanne Latham. The photograph had been taken in the yard of St Mary the Blessed Virgin Church in Enville, Staffordshire, without the permission of the local Reverend. The album was originally released on LP and picture disc and was later reissued on CD. Pictured on the cover is Phil Cope, Zeeb Parkes, Graham Ditchfield and a member of the then Road Crew. While Peter Hinton is credited with producing this recording the writers Phil Cope and Zeeb Parkes always felt the credit should have gone to the engineer Robin George.

    Hell On Heels

"The music of the Pistol Annies is the three of us truly being ourselves-not only in our songwriting and storytelling, but also in the way we perform as a team. We wanted to make music that people talk about but might not want to admit and it's the kind of raw and honest country music that deserves to be on vinyl," said Miranda.

The trio was born during a songwriting session with Lambert, a.k.a. "Lonestar Annie" and Monroe, a.k.a "Hipppie Annie." While writing and sharing stories, Monroe decided that Lambert and Presley, a.k.a "Holler Annie," needed to meet, and a midnight phone call with the three of them launched the group. The three of them wrote and co-wrote every song on the album and were joined by Pistol Andy, a.k.a Blake Shelton, on the song "Family Feud."

Derived from the Old English word for "executioner," Carnifex's moniker could not be more appropriate. It's a word that reeks of death and destruction from the Dark Ages to describe a fiercely morbid death metal band. It's hard to imagine that San Diego, known for its white sand beaches, endless sunny days and astronomical real estate, is also home to the brutal beat down that is Carnifex.

In 2008, the band proudly delivered their first Victory Records album to the metal masses. Intriguing and armed to the teeth with an arsenal of blast beats, machine gun riffs and vocals exorcised from the deepest pits of hell, The Diseased and the Poisoned is the soundtrack to your worst nightmare.

It's 2010 follow-up for the label, Hell Chose Me, however, saw the band take an even darker and more blasphemous approach to their already visceral sound. Blood curdling screams, guttural growls, bottom heavy baselines, and razor-sharp guitar riffs make for what is some of the band's darkest and most brutal work to date. Colored vinyl pressing from Victory Records.

    Hotter Than Hell (Awaiting Repress)

Although Kiss' self-titled debut performed respectably on the charts, it was not the blockbuster they had hoped for. With the album fading on the charts in the summer of 1974, Kiss was summoned back into the studio to work on a follow-up. Producers Richie Wise and Kenny Kerner were onboard again, and even though the sonics are muddier (and more filler is present in the compositions), Hotter Than Hell is another quintessential Kiss release. Many of the songs have been forgotten over the years (few have been featured in concert after the '70s), but there are still more than a few gems to be found. It's unclear if the members of Kiss were having problems with their personal relationships at the time, but it's a common thread that runs through the songs. The plodding Got to Choose and the rapid-fire Parasite deal with love gone bad; the title track is about unobtainable love, while Goin' Blind is a disturbing tale of a 93-year-old having an affair with a 16-year-old. Also included are the early favorites Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll and Watchin' You, as well as the original electric version of Comin' Home (an acoustic version was the opener of 1996's MTV Unplugged) and Strange Ways, which contains one of Ace Frehley's best guitar solos. Even though Hotter Than Hell actually fared worse on the charts than the debut, it has become a revered album among Kiss fans over the years -- and rightfully so.
