    Bus Stop

No rest for the Hollies in 1966! Hot on the heels of Beat Group!, Bus Stop rolled into U.S. record shops, right on schedule. Written by Gouldman, the title track became the bands first Top Ten U.S. single, peaking at #5, and featuring their bell-tone harmonies to perfection. In addition to the sparkling single, the album is packed with their renditions of contemporary hits like Simon and Garfunkel's I Am A Rock, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' Mickey's Monkey' and the Fred Neil/Roy Orbison chestnut Candy Man. Self-penned songs We're Through, Don't Run and Hide and You Know He Did also shine brightly and prove there was no danger of covering up the band members writing skills. With this disc, the Hollies put the rock world on notice that they were the British Invasions most beat-filled battalion!

Out of print for decades, this classic album is FINALLY available again. Sourced from the aurally awesome original U.K. mono master, this LP is pressed on pristine 180-gram vinyl per your turntables request. Get in the queue!

Perhaps the most undervalued band of the original British Invasion, The Hollies hits are well known in the U.S. but their early albums are almost impossible to find! Taking their name from Buddy Holly and modeling their harmonies on the Everly Brothers, the Hollies gathered these American musical ingredients and whipped them into a wholly-UKnique concoction. Forging their sound to the east of their Liverpool brothers-in-beat, this Manchester quintet had it all: the soaring vocals of Allan Clarke, Graham Nash and Tony Hicks; Hicks cascading, arpeggio-laden licks on guitar and a hard-hitting rhythm section driven by drummer extraordinaire Bobby Elliot. On top of that, their keen ears for top quality songs, written by the premier songsmiths of the day like teenage wunderkind Graham Gouldman, Chip Wild Thing Taylor and the stellar in-house writing team of Clarke/Hicks/Nash, ensured that their albums were extraordinary from start to finish. In short, they were a band that exuded greatness on all fronts. Now, as that greatness has been acknowledged by their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Sundazed Music is proud to present meticulously restored vinyl editions of the rare U.S. mono versions of the Hollies third and fourth Imperial label albums, from 1966.

The final Hollies album before Graham Nash would take flight, BUTTERFLY shows the British quintet soaring to new heights. Recorded at Abbey Road studios, the 1967 set features a dozen strong originals - including "Dear Eloise," "Postcard" and the title track - that occasionally venture into psychedelia. The adventurous arrangements are the perfect complement to the matchless harmonies of Nash, Allan Clarke and Tony Hicks.

    Crosby, Stills and Nash

Ranked 259/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

One of the most enduring musical partnerships of our time, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) are revered for their peerless vocal harmonies, inspired songwriting and musical virtuosity. When the trio first sang together at a friends Laurel Canyon house in 1968, their uncanny harmonic convergence was immediately apparent, and CSN took shape. Each member came to the new venture from other high-profile bands, Crosby from the Byrds, Stills from Buffalo Springfield and Nash from the Hollies, and together they formed that rarest of musical entities, a supergroup that lived up to its billing.

CSNs stunning 1969 self-titled debut album is one of the true masterpieces of the rock n roll canon. The album made it all the way to #6 on the Billboard charts and delivered two Top 40 Pop singles with Marrakesh Express and Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. Also features the CSN classics Guinnevere, Wooden Ships, Helplessly Hoping and Long Time Gone.

Crosby, Stills & Nash are a most important part of the brilliant history at Atlantic Records. The uniqueness of their vocal blend, as well as the uniqueness of each solo voice, made them the top vocal group in the world, and they are still today thrilling millions of fans they have accumulated over the years. Here I Go Again

Released in America in 1964 by Imperial Records, Here I Go Again was the Hollies U.S. debut, and is rated by many fans as superior to its British counterpart, Stay with the Hollies. Here I Go Again offers an accurate representation of the Hollies early repertoire, comprised largely of distinctive covers of American R&B and rock n roll classics. In addition to the ultra-catchy title tune and their hit covers of Maurice Williams Stay and Doris Troys Just One Look, the album finds the Hollies applying their trademark style to such iconic numbers as Chuck Berrys Memphis, Little Richards Lucille and Arthur Alexanders You Better Move On.

Of all the English bands who achieved international success during the first wave of the British Invasion, none combined youthful rock n roll energy with musical sophistication more compellingly than the Hollies. The Manchester quintet effortlessly combined the effervescent, Everly Brothers-inspired vocal harmonies of Allan Clarke, Graham Nash and Tony Hicks with a muscular rhythm section driven by the brilliant drummer Bobby Elliott, creating one of their eras most beloved and enduring musical catalogs.

As was standard practice with British acts at the time, the Hollies early albums reached American shores in very different form than the versions that were released overseas, with alternate track listings and different cover art than their U.K. and European counterparts. Although these unique variants are the form in which millions of American fans first experienced these historic albums, they have been out of print for decades, and have long been obtainable only at inflated collectors prices.

    Evolution (Mono & Stereo)

Double LP Package Includes Both Mono & Stereo Versions

For many Hollies enthusiasts, Evolution (1967) is considered the band's most accessible blend of pop and psychedelia. The quintet were headed into musical territories beyond simply moon-June-bloom and boy-meets-girl lyrics coupled with the tightly constructed vocal harmonies that had become their calling card. Nowhere is this more evident than in the tripped-out cover art from Dutch multimedia artists Seemon Kooer, Marijke Kooer, Josje Leeger, and Barry Finch -- known collectively as Fool. Although Carrie-Anne could be considered an extension of the trite, somewhat predictable Brit pop, there are clear indications of new horizons on cuts such as the modish You Need Love, the arguably passÉ distorted electric guitar on Have You Ever Loved Somebody, and the wailing fretwork on the driving freakbeat rocker Then the Heartaches Begin. Graham Nash (guitar/vocals), Allan Clarke (guitar/vocals), Tony Hicks (guitar/banjo/dulcimer/vocals), Bobby Elliott (drums), and new recruit Bernie Calvert (bass/vocals) -- who replaced original member Eric Haydock in the spring of 1966 -- were also taking different approaches in their writing and arranging, as heard on the trippy Headed for a Fall. On this tune, most prominent is the unusual six-eight time signature, coupled with Hicks' inversion of the unmistakable banjo, which is similar to the sound he conjured up on the hit Stop, Stop, Stop. However, somewhat more atypical of the Nash-era band are the light and limber acoustic and uptempo Stop Right There, or the baroque Ye Olde Toffee Shoppe.

    Beat Group

Originally released in the U.S. in 1966, Beat Group! was the American cousin to the Hollies' British LP Would You Believe?. However, identical cousins they were not: Beat Group! boasts substantially altered musical content and completely different cover art. Led by the snap-jangle-pop of the smash single, I Cant Let Go, the album is a thrilling combination of originals and R&B covers ripped from their riotous live sets. Highlights include commanding versions of Buddy Holly's Take Your Time, Sam and Dave's I Take What I Want and the Otis Redding/O.V. Wright classic That's How Strong My Love Is. Original songs Hard Hard Year, Oriental Sadness and Fifi the Flea, along with Mersey Beat staples A Taste of Honey and Mr. Moonlight round out the disc.

    Buddy Holly Collected

Buddy Holly was one of the greatest, most inventive artists in the first wave of Rock & Roll, which The Buddy Holly Collection certainly illustrates. The selection shows his wild-man Rockabilly ways as well as his sensitive songwriting.

Although his success lasted only a year and a half before his death in an airplane crash, Holly is described by critic Bruce Eder as the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll. The Buddy Holly Collection stands as the most comprehensive and greatest retrospective of the legendary artist.

Though it contains all the big hits, this is not the place to turn if you're only looking for That'll Be the Day, Not Fade Away, and Peggy Sue. This collection encompasses much more, delving deeper into Holly's body of work. An absolutely necessity for anybody who loves American music of the 20th century.

His works and innovations inspired and influenced contemporary and later musicians, notably the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Costello, and exerted a profound influence on popular music.

Hear! Here!, the Hollies second American album, was issued stateside in 1965 by Imperial Records. Its a reworkedand, for many listeners, improvedvariation on the original British LP known simply as Hollies, with the U.S. version adding the hits Look Through Any Window (the Hollies first American Top 40 single) and Im Alive. Hear! Here! finds the band members original compositions beginning to dominate the Hollies repertoire, with their songwriting skills shining on such standout tracks as Put Yourself in My Place, So Lonely and Ive Been Wrong. This Path Tonight is the new studio album and collection of 10 songs from Graham Nash. Produced by Shane Fontayne, this is Nash's first solo record of new music in fourteen years. The title track, "This Path Tonight," is the debut single. Like the album, the song is one of reflection and transition of a singer-songwriter whose career (the Hollies, CSN, CSNY) has spanned more than five decades and counting. Hasten Down The Wind

Make Haste! Grab the Limited-Edition 180g LP of this Classic Now!

Did any musician have more talent at their beckon call during the 70s than Linda Ronstadt? Absolutely not. Part of her impeccable string of mid-1970s albums that defined California's soft-rock scene, the Grammy-winning Hasten Down the Wind is Ronstadt at her best and that's saying something. Consider the watertight repertoire: The Warren Zevon title track. Patsy Cline's (by way of Willie Nelson) 'Crazy.' Buddy Holly's 'That'll Be the Day.' Nelson's 'Down So Low.' Karla Bonoff's 'If He's Ever Near.' Ry Cooder's 'The Tattler.'

And then, there's the supporting cast, which includes Eagles legend Don Henley on drums and harmony vocals, folk-rock legend Peter Asher on guitar, session drumming master Russ Kunkel, and multi-instrumentalist sensation Andrew Gold playing just about everything with strings or skins. Couple this with the thematically revealing cover in a nod to the escapism of fantasy romance novels, the singer stands on a beach before an ocean and a running horse, her exposing dress a sign of the lovesick vulnerability that colors the songs and Hasten Down the Wind is the complete package of sensuality, passion, and poignancy.

Now, due to Mobile Fidelity's trademark sonic restoration, the album finally has the exquisite sound it has always deserved. Listeners can now literally feel Ronstadt's deep-seeded emotions. Even better, her covers of affecting ballads and midtempo country-rock numbers intentionally revolve around vocal-heavy arrangements. It's no wonder that the album, which topped the country charts, also yielded two Top 20 hits and resulted in the artist's first platinum-record award.

But make haste! Quantities are limited, and, unlike Ronstadt's timeless interpretations, this will not be around forever.

Think music ain't what it used to be? Then you haven't heard Nick Waterhouse. His jumped-up take on 1950's rhythm 'n' blues is the real deal."
    - GQ

A timeless talent for spirited rock and rhythms that anyone can appreciate.
He draws from the classic sound of '50's American pop with a distinctive
voice of his own, shouting and growling with infectious vigor."
    - NPR

    Waterhouse is definitely a star."
    - LA TIMES

The music sounds like a party in full swing, each instrument playing exactly what is needed."
    - CHICAGO TRIBUNE

Between the chattering keys, bomping saxes, gorgeous guitar tones and
the bandleader's voice-which slides effortlessly from cool quaver to feral
howl - the end result is undeniable."
    - SPIN

Nick Waterhouse's art springs from a simple idea: everybody wants to be sombody else. One of his heroes, Van Morrison, got his start covering Bobby
Bland, whose own musical idol was Nat "King" Cole. In Waterhouse's view,
emulation is a journey; you never truly succeed, but as the singer, guitarist and songwriter puts it, "You become something on the way there."

Nick was born in 1986 and grew up in Huntington Beach, known predominantly for
UFC, commercial surf culture, and tanning salons. He established his musical sensibilities in the middle of the burgeoning southern California Psych-Garage scene (Burger
records, Ty Segall, McHugh's Distillery studio) while retaining his unique perspective
on the spirit of American Rhythm & Blues and Rock & Roll.

Waterhouse started performing as a teenager. "It was really motivated by fear," he
recalls. "I'm kind of an introvert, so it was an uncomfortable situation. It was a way
to force a crisis." The young artist experienced an exhilaration he'd never felt before,
and hasn't found anywhere else since. "It's a feeling of heightened awareness that goes
beyond pleasure," Waterhouse explains. "It has something to do with seeing ahead in
time and behind in time all at once. You don't just get the immediate reward; you get
the potential that rewards you the same way."

Waterhouse explored the idea of potential on his breakthrough single, "Some Place," a
beautifully lean, propulsive track recorded at all-analog studio the Distillery and self
released in 2010 on his own Pres label. "Well, there's someplace that I'd rather be,"
Waterhouse sang in a fierce yet plaintive register. "And it's something that's been on my
    mind almost constantly."

These days, Waterhouse is a successful recording artist, with one well-received LP and
and several high-profile tours and collaborations to his name. But his latest work still
embodies the struggle of his early forays. During "This Is a Game," Waterhouse sets up
a snarly, post-surf guitar solo with a succinct statement of a cynical outlook: "This is a
game / Please remember my words / And don't get upset when you don't get what you
think you deserve." And on the gothic-soul strut "Let It Come Down," he meditates on
the inevitability of pain. "If there's gonna be rain tonight," he sings in a stoic croon.
    "Let it come down."

It's clear from this material that Waterhouse is in the midst of his own becoming. He
isn't the type to let ecstasy take over, like Van Morrison, or to drawl away in a consummately laid-back register, like Mose Allison. In the tension between his wry lyrics and
crisp arrangements, you hear the expression of a worldly skeptic who's also-when it
comes to his art-a sanctified believer. Whoever it was that Nick Waterhouse wanted to
be matters less now; these days, he just sounds like himself.

    Yonkers NY

If a songwriter of some accomplishment who is also a singer predominantly known for his work in country music was looking for a subject for a deeply personal cycle of songs, it's pretty unlikely that Yonkers, New York, a small city bordering on New York City's borough of the Bronx, would be the subject.

Not, of course, unless the writer is Chip Taylor, who grew up there. With Yonkers, NY, Taylor, a veteran songwriter whose songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Peggy Lee, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, the Hollies and, of course, the Troggs (who waxed his first big hit, Wild Thing), has gone back to his childhood and adolescence and come up with eleven songs filled with warmth and humor, enlivened with spoken reminiscences and packaged with a book of lyrics and vintage photos of the people and places that are their subjects. The songs on Yonkers, NY take us into Taylor's family life and into his discovery of music, horses and girls, opening these subjects up with a skill only a master songwriter can summon.

    Desperate Little Town

Reissue of a great lost album, a collaboration between Holly Golightly & Dan Melchior that was originally released on Sympathy For The Record Industry Records. It's been out of print for around eight years and Holly & Dan thought it was about time they made that right.

Recorded in London and Californian in 1999 with long time friend Bruce Brand on percussion this album features 10 tracks, some of which you'll know if you've seen Holly play in the last decade like Directly From My Heart and Further On Up The Road, but here they're given very warm re-workings.

    Long Distance

After many requests to incorporate the best of the solo Holly Golightly songs into the live set, with top-notch backing provided by The Brokeoffs, I have picked some of my original band favorites and recorded this collection for old and new fans alike.

The highlight for me was the chance to re-record '(You Ain't) No Big Thing,' the fantastic 1966 Sam and Dave classic that I first started performing live in 1995. It's one of my all time top tunes, along with 'My Love Is,' the fabulous Little Willie John number, which we've given a wistful lone banjo accompaniment this time around.

There is even mix of cover songs and originals to revisit all of them corkers in their own right and all of them especially dear to me. Long Distance is a collection of my good-time foot-tappers and sing-along tear-jerkers. It's my top ten tracks prepared from scratch and served up fresh. - Holly Golightly

    All Her Fault

Holly Golightly has made over 20 albums and appeared on countless more, but she never had a recording experience like the one she had making the new Holly Golightly and the Brokeoffs release All Her Fault. Golightly and her partner Lawyer Dave spent nearly six months on the project. "It has never taken me that long to get through 12 tracks," she admits. "I don't have the patience for endlessly going over things. I want things done quickly and this was like pulling a Dave-shaped log along at times."

Don't expect All Her Fault to sound radically different from their earlier releases. It's still a raw, rough-hewn stew of twisted roots music forged by the duo's distinct musical interests - she listens to late '50s/early '60s R&B and he loves rock 'n' roll. "I'm not looking to achieve something that hasn't been achieved before," she confesses. "We just what we do. The songs are really all that changes."

    No Help Coming

No Help Coming is the fourth full-length release by Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs, and the latest of nearly 30 albums on which the veteran indie icon is featured. As much as her work has evolved over the years, the London-born, Georgia-based singer/guitarist has maintained a fierce fidelity to the same raw DIY musical principles that first established her as a seminal influence upon multiple generations of garage combos and lo-fi artists. Her current outfit, Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs, is a stripped down duo that teams her with Texas-bred multi-instrumentalist and longtime collaborator Lawyer Dave, who contributes guitar, drums and backing vocals.

On No Help Coming, Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs continue to make music that's spare and earthy yet unfailingly tuneful, drawing upon gritty blues, country and rockabilly influences while maintaining an unmistakable personal resonance. The 12-song set, recorded in the twosome's adopted home state of Georgia, features such notable originals as The Rest Of Your Life, You're Under Arrest, Get Out of My House and the swaggering title track, which packs as much of a musical and emotional punch as anything they've ever recorded.

No Help Coming also continues Golightly's longstanding tradition of putting her stamp on unexpected cover material, with personalized reading of country legend Bill Anderson's The Lord Knows We're Drinking, the mysterious Mr. Undertaker's 1955 rhythm-and-blues cult classic Here Lies My Love, and Wendell Austin's vintage psycho-country epic L.S.D. Made a Wreck of Me.

    Vessel Of Love (Pre-Order)

Hollie Cook combines her unique vocal talent with charming charisma to craft her own dynamic strand of lovers rock with enduring tropical vibes, weaving a path from her West London roots to an arena of diverse collaborations, critically acclaimed records, and iconic live appearances around the world. Cook's ability to continually surprise, delight, and progress solidifies her position as one of the most exciting voices in reggae, and this is crystal clear on her third full-length and Merge debut, Vessel of Love.

Cook's music career commenced early when family friend and punk trailblazer Ari Up asked Cook, age 19 at the time, to join the raucous '70s feminist UK post-punk outfit The Slits for their reformation in 2006. She thrived on being thrown into the deep end and quickly cut her teeth with four years of back-to-back shows around the globe. Her talents recognized and nurtured, she then released her first solo album Hollie Cook in 2011, with a revered 2012 dub album follow-up, while singles such as "Milk & Honey" and "That Very Night" gained support from influential radio stations across Europe. After performing at The Stone Roses concert at Manchester's Heaton Park at the personal request of Ian Brown, and her hypnotic performance on the prestigious Later With Jools Holland, the way was paved for Hollie's solo career to take off.

For someone who claimed "it's hard for a band to really stand out and shake up the world," Cook was certainly making a good go of proving herself wrong. By the end of 2014, Jamie T had requested her support for his Alexandra Palace show and featured her on his track "They Told Me It Rained." Cook had also unleashed Twice via Mr. Bongo Records, and with Mike "Prince Fatty" Pelanconi once again aiding in the album's conception, Cook confidently delivered with her follow-up to a well-received debut. In the wake of another successful release, Hollie hit the road with both The Skints and Protoje, and lent her vocal talent to Quantic's "Shuffle Them Shoes" single, which also featured on his 1000 Watts album.

Acclaimed legendary producer Martin "Youth" Glover is Cook's most recent collaborator, lending his venerable production expertise to Vessel of Love. His success with Killing Joke is only surpassed by his enduring reputation as one of the most prolific producers in the UK. "I'm very honored to work with Hollie, one of the most exciting emerging singers and writers over the last ten years," says Glover. Hollie Cook sits in good company on his impressive production list, joining the likes of Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, The Verve, Primal Scream, Pink Floyd, and Depeche Mode. Glover describes Cook's songs as "sharp lyrical observations and clever word play combined with an exquisite and informed pop sensibility," and they are only elevated by Glover's production on Vessel of Love, in particular the singles "Survive" and "Freefalling" as well as deeper cuts like "Ghostly Fading" and "Together."

Multiple Styles Displayed On Holly Cole's 1993 Sophomore Album

Mastered By Bernie Grundman From The Original Master Tapes

Plating And 200-Gram Vinyl Pressing By Quality Record Pressings!

Old-Style Gatefold Tip-On Jacket By Stoughton Printing

Holly Cole brings her own dimension to the tradition of cabaret, a strong voice that's still capable of nuance, an ear for quirky repertoire, and a light touch that keeps some of these performances floating just at the edge of irony.

On her second album, 1993's Don't Smoke in Bed, Cole explores varied musical styles, adding pop, blues, country and a French ballad to her standard, low-key jazz. It's a favorite of ours, which is why for this Analogue Productions reissue we've given it the reissue treatment it deserves. Bernie Grundman did the mastering, from the original analog tapes, at his Los Angeles studio, giving this release a spectacular foundation. Plating and pressing on 200-gram heavyweight vinyl was done by Gary Salstrom and crew at Quality Record Pressings, makers of the world's finest-sounding LPs. Lastly, we wrapped up the whole package in a premium gatefold tip-on jacket from Stoughton Printing. There's nothing but aces in this smokin' hot reissue and the quality shines through.

Holly's delivery of more traditional fare shines on Cole Porter's witty Get Out of Town and Kurt Weill's torchy Je Ne T'aime Pas, while she brings clarity, power, and anthemic passion to the surprising treatment of Johnny Nash's I Can See Clearly Now. She's generally well supported in this intimate set by pianist Aaron Davis and bassist David Piltch, while there's sparing and effective use of strings. There are fine guest spots by tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson, on Everyday Will Be Like a Holiday, and David Lindley, whose steel guitar contributes to the strange country music of Don't Let the Teardrops Rust Your Shining Heart.

    Night

Without apology, Holly Cole is a self-declared night owl, perfectly at home in the time between dusk and dawn, a dear friend of the wee small hours. It's a fact that now finds firm and poetic expression in the title and content of her eagerly awaited new album - Night. As usual when it comes to the iconic Canadian songstress, it's an album that features a stylistically diverse and emotionally stirring collection of songs. It stands as a love letter to the night and its magic powers, a celebration of the hours where daylight's chatter has disappeared and turned into peaceful moments of creative possibility, providing a chance to see the world with different eyes and to listen with different ears. An invitation to intimacy.
