    I Love You.

The Neighbourhood is a Los Angeles quintet specializing in crossbreeding musical genres. Its debut album swirls anthemic indie rock with smooth R&B and some icy electro-pop, all shot through a sun-soaked West Coast filter. At the core of this aural amalgam is Jesse Rutherford's androgynous voice. Here, the opening "How" plays like an urbanized Portishead, as Rutherford bends high vocal notes over dusty hip-hop beats and hauntingly beautiful background ambience that bleeds right into the following "Afraid." The tempo picks up ever so slightly, but the lyrics are noticeably more pointed as Rutherford verbally abuses his anti-muse and exorcises some inner demons via danceable catharsis. Themes of paranoia surface in "Everybody's Watching Me (Uh Oh)," where his inflections recall '80s-era Michael Jackson over skittering beats and a sweeping symphony of keyboards. "Sweater Weather" is an obvious single that stands out above the rest, resonating like a younger sibling to Maroon 5. The song's soundpool is flecked with funky beats and airbrushed soundscapes of luxurious synthesizer tones.

    I Love You

Jason Urick explores a world of sound left to the far reaches of outer space. Building on the gentle ambient washes of sound from his debut LP Husbands and the more rhythmic and distorted tones of Fussing & Fighting, Urick strives to bridge the gap between the familiar and the unfamiliar with I Love You.

Recorded at WORM in Rotterdam, at the Floristree in Baltimore, and at home in and around Portland, OR, the sounds were entirely manipulated, mixed, and constructed on his laptop. The end result is an eerie sound scape of fractured tones, warm sheets of sound, and cryptic voices. Rhythmic pulses underpin the songs, enticing the listener to explore every intricate detail.

Lia Mice is the experimental pop project of Eleanor C Mice (nÉe Logan). After spending her teens touring Australia in punk and soul groups she lurked the Brooklyn noise scene for half a decade. In late 2012 at the end of a European tour in support of her debut solo album (originally released under the moniker Happy New Year) she became stranded in France when her return flight to Brooklyn was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Waiting for her replacement flight, she passed the time in Lyon penning songs in a friend's living room. Within a week she had decided to relocate to France for good. The songs became the genesis of 'I Love You', out October 7 on Old Flame Records - LiaMice's second solo album, and first experiment in danceable tempos, inspired by new music uncovered during in her first year living in France: in the grooves of yÉ-yÉ singles; on the dancefloors of converted boat-venues; in the theme songs of classic French cinema and on the iPods of neighborhood house parties.

Produced by Britt Daniel of Spoon, this eponymous debut perfectly captures the band's strong pop sensibility also found on their debut long-player, Fear Is On Our Side from earlier this year. Included among the EP's five tracks is the live favorite and venerable set closer Your Worst Is The Best, which features dueling vocals over a chiming Rhodes and epic guitar lines. Initially released in 2003 by Emperor Jones, this EP is now available worldwide from Secretly Canadian.

My Chemical Romance know how to be exuberant and introspective at the same time -- musically, they tend to be aggressive and hard rocking, but lyrically, they're all about introspection. Produced by Thursday's lead singer, Geoff Rickly, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is one that deals with a lot of negative emotions and does so in a very candid way. Some will find the lyrics depressing, but then, rock music isn't obligated to press the smile button 24 hours a day. Sadness, pessimism, anger, disillusionment -- none of which are difficult to find on this album -- are, like happiness, pleasure, and optimism, valid areas of rock expression. I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is a noteworthy and respectable debut for the New Jersey combo.

    I Love You, Honeybear

I Love You, Honeybear was recorded intermittently from 2013 to 2014 in Echo Park, Los Angeles and produced with Jonathan Wilson, whom I also recorded and produced 2012's Fairly Fun with. There's a case to be made that it sounds and acts a bit like solo-era John Lennon, Scott Walker, Randy Newman, Harry Nilsson, and Dory Previn, while taking more than a few cues from Woody Allen, Kurt Vonnegut, Alejandro Jodorowsky and Muhammad Ali. Blammo.

It has a decidedly more soulful presence than Fear Fun, due in no small part to the fact that I am truly singing my ass off all over this motherfucker. The album is really characterized by the scope and ambition of the arrangements. Nearly every tune is augmented by something special, be it orchestral strings, a mariachi band, questionable electronic drum solos, ragtime jazz combos, soul singers, or what have you. I'm pretty sure there's a sitar in there somewhere. Blammo. My ambition, aside from making an indulgent, soulful, and epic sound worthy of the subject matter, was to address the sensuality of fear, the terrifying force of love,
the unutterable pleasures of true intimacy, and the destruction of emotional and intellectual prisons in my own voice. Blammo.

This material demanded a new way of being made, and it took a lot of time before the process revealed itself. The massive, deranged shmaltz I heard in my head, and knew had to be the sound of this record, originated a few years ago while Emma and I were hallucinating in Joshua Tree; the same week I wrote the title track. I chased that sound for the entire year and half we were recording. The means by which it was achieved bore a striking resemblance to the travails, abandon and transformation of loving someone. There: I said it. Blammo.

    I See You

I See You is marked by a tonal shift to something close to pure, crisp pop structure, adorned by unusual crescendos that echo a dexterous DJ inching their dancer toward climax without ever quite lifting the house lights. Its lyric sheet moves from the danger and hopelessness of love to its deliciousness and rapture; a move into a more outward looking proposition.

I See You is recognizably still The xx but is now powered by the voluble ambition of its three perfect counterweights to one another starting to not just realize but harness their full potential. You might even want to think of the decisive move from Joy Division to New Order here, too.

When they take their plum festival slots in 2017, armed with the ten most robust songs of their career, The xx should prick the skin and touch gently the shoulder of an audience reaching to the back of the field.

Started out as a '77 punk-influenced band back in 1981, legendary Boston thrash-corers Psycho constantly evolved through the years, playing faster and faster with each new release. It wasn't until their 1988 masterpiece, You Love Us... You Hate Us that they fully embraced the 50-second-song, D.R.I./Heresy-styled, bandana thrash formula, conceiving one of the most important 'cult' classics of the whole 80's hardcore era. Licensed from Johnny's X own Ax/ction label, and reissued on beautiful gold vinyl just like the original version, with original inner sleeve repro in a limited 500 copy edition, Radiation Reissues is proud to bring back to vinyl the 12 minutes of 100% raging hardcore fury that made history!

    I Know What Love Isn't

Tracey Thorn wrote a song that reached Jens Lekman in the early stages of his new album, I Know What Love Isn't. In her song she sang Oh Jens, oh Jens/your songs seem to look through a different lens/you're still so young, love ends just as easy as it's begun. A touching moment for the Swedish songwriter, having been a fan since his teens. But it came to him in a time when he found himself very confused and in doubt. He was changing and, subsequently, so were his songs. They weren't looking through that lens anymore.

I Know What Love Isn't came out of a break up, something Jens didn't see as worth writing about at first. The songs began more fleeting than the last go around, on his 2007 album Night Falls Over Kortedala. The songs began building from images and memories and soon began to take their own route, one that Lekman wasn't privy to their destination.

In The World Moves On he paints a picture of a sweltering summer in the city of Melbourne where he lived while writing and recording the album. The hot days that led up to the Black Saturday bushfires, but also more mundane images of feeding possums in a park or getting in trouble with some guy on a scooter. It seems to lead nowhere at first but the aimlessness in itself reaches heartbreaking conclusions later on, summed up by the soaring chorus and you don't get over a broken heart, you just learn to carry it gracefully. Like Joan Didion once said that she writes entirely to find out what she's thinking, Jens wrote until he caught up with his thoughts. And of course they led him right back to the break up.

Musically, I Know What Love Isn't chooses an economic route. From the vast palette he created for Kortedala, he's only chosen a few somber colors this time around. There are strings but not a string section, an upright piano and not a grand, a single saxophone and gracenotes from a flute. The songs are lighter, almost aerodynamic, Jens explains, I wanted the songs to take off almost unnoticeably, where the chorus is separated from the verse only through a small detail like a tambourine or a harmony. Like when you're in an airplane taking off and you look out the window and realize you're already in the air.

A dry country piano makes Become Someone Else's lift high. Vocals from Melbourne singer Sophie Brous makes the chorus in Erica America soar. Strings pick up the title track and send it up to the sky without much effort or force. In the latter, Lekman once again points the way to distill essential truths from every day life vignettes while singing about a sham marriage. I thought of the Friday nights when I'd be cruising up and down the street with my best friend in her old crappy Holden, talking about getting married to get me into the country.

The idea was so appealing, that we would build this constructed relationship around a purpose rather than some vague feeling that could change at anytime. But in the end, the sham marriage is much too great a story to be kept secret. At least when you make a living from telling stories. And that's what I Know What Love Isn't is. A collection of songs that grew to a story that had to be told. A story that is not new, but essentially human. The story of the grey areas of love that you have to excavate and explore, using the method of exclusion, to find out what love is.

    Tell The Ones I Love

Coming off their 2012 Grammy-winning album, "Nobody Knows You, and this album proves to hold equal charisma and sharpness that brought their first
album so much success. They are currently touring with the widely popular Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. This has increased the bands fan base greatly. They have been playing to sold out venues with enthusiastic audiences. They have literally been bringing the house down and winning audiences over with their incredible musicianship and hard driving renditions of some of their own compositions in a set of their own. Yes, the Steep Canyon Rangers
have received widespread exposure & critical acclaim as Steve Martin's backing band, but anyone who knows the Steeps and has heard them play, know that it is Steve Martin who is THEIR celebrity! Even Steve would tell you that.

Along with winning the Grammy for their last album Nobody Know You(without Steve) they have also won multiple IBMA awards, including Entertainers of the Year. They will be the hosts of this year's IBMAs as they move to their new home on North Carolina. The Steep Canyon Rangers have very close ties with Steve Martin, and he hugely supportive of them plugging the band whenever possible. They have appeared with him on countless national television programs such as Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight
show with Jay Leno, The View, The Today Show, plus many more.

Steep Canyon Rangers wanted Tell The Ones I Love to reflect the spirit of their concerts-an original, freewheeling, high-energy approach to bluegrass
that rests mainly on the songwriting of Graham Sharp and Charles Humphrey. They recorded the album almost entirely live, using few overdubs. While the Steep Canyon Rangers were certainly open to recording songs by other composers, or to dip into traditional material, Campbell ultimately had them record all original tunes, based both on the strength of the songs and the band's arrangements. A good decision all around.

Got at Girl starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Dan "The Automator" Nakamura - are thrilled to announce the release of I Love You But I Must Drive Off This Cliff Now, on Bulk Recordings. The pair's enthralling debut album, sees Nakamura - whose innumerable, inimitable credits include influential production (Kool Keith/Dr. Octagon, Gorillaz) and membership in such visionary collaborations as Deltron 3030, Lovage, and Handsome Boy Modeling School - and Winstead - known for her work in the films Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, The Spectacular Now, and next seen in Kill the Messenger - sweetly detached vocal delivery and nuanced lyricism.

Winstead and Nakamura first crossed paths while both worked on 2010s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, the actor acting and the musician contributing to the score. Winstead - who counts Lovage's Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By as "one of my favorite albums of all time" - approached Nakamura after a cast and crew dinner to let him know she was a big fan, assuming that would be that. "About a year later, Dan came up to me at the premiere and said, 'We should do something sometime,'" Winstead says. "I was like, okay! I would love to! I didn't think it was real."

Right from the jump, the two seemingly disparate artists found they were both surfing similar waves of inspiration. Each were especially enthused by the daft, dewy and even slightly degenerate sounds of 1960s French pop, that uniquely Gallic soufflÉ of girl group soul, cafÉ jazz, lush arrangements and groovy eroticism.

"It was a meeting of the minds," says Nakamura. "A kindred spirit kind of thing." He sent a skeletal track to Winstead, suggesting she begin thinking of songwriting in terms of character and story. For the nascent lyricist, the task came with no little pressure. Winstead and Nakamura soon commenced writing together, collaborating on lyrics as they learned more about each other's creative strengths and interests.

"I've had the fortune of working with a lot of very talented people," Nakamura says. "When it's right, it's right. That makes it work really easily. Working with Mary is like working with Del (The Funkee Homosapien) or working with Damon (Albarn) - it's really natural. It just works."

I Love You But I Must Drive Off This Cliff Now is surprisingly seamless, a perfectly realized union of atmospheric ambience and ambitious songcraft. The Automator is of course a master of genre subversion and experimental futurism, effortlessly transmogrifying hip-hop, psychedelia, found sounds, and all manners of pop and world music with his singular taste for prolix wordplay, multiple personas and conceptual adventure. For Got A Girl, he has assembled a rich, enveloping sound world all its own, with hints of Laurel Canyon folk, yacht rock, and sunshine pop stylized and synthesized through sumptuous arrangements, intricate electronics, and unfettered melodic invention. The sonic landscape calls up far flung locales both real and imagined, knit together by restless grooves, elastic dubby beats, and Winstead's complex characterizations.

I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is a noteworthy and respectable debut for the New Jersey combo.

The Man I Love (Pure Pleasure)

Around the same time that Peggy Lee decamped her longtime label home, Capitol Records, for what turned out to be a five-year sojourn at Decca Records in 1952, an apparently washed-up Frank Sinatra signed with Capitol. In 1957, when Lee returned to Capitol, Sinatra had re-established himself as a major recording artist. Meanwhile, the recording world had changed with the emergence of the 12-inch LP as an industry standard. The Man I Love, Lee's first recording for Capitol in the format after re-signing, matched her with the company's flagship artist, Sinatra, who was credited as the album's conductor, his name printed on the front cover in the same size as Lee's. A year earlier, Sinatra had conducted his Tone Poems Of Color album for Capitol, and though the singer did not read music and relied on arranger Nelson Riddle, he again proved himself able to make his intentions clear in working with Lee.

The Man I Love is a concept album in the manner pioneered by Sinatra at Capitol, a group of 12 songs chosen to express a single theme. That theme, as the title suggests, is a woman's unwavering devotion to a man, as expressed in songs often composed by gilt-edged songwriters (Gershwin, Arlen, Rodgers, Kern, etc.) and taken from Broadway shows. The result is a superb pairing of singer, conductor, and arranger on an album that re-conceives Lee as a Capitol recording artist in the Sinatra concept album mold.

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

I See You (Deluxe Box Set)

    Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set

Includes 180-Gram LP, 180-Gram 12, Full Album On CD, & An Enhanced CD With Video Content

    Also Includes Three Art Prints

The limited edition deluxe version includes the full album on a 180-gram LP, the full album on CD, a 180-gram 12in. with three bonus tracks, an enhanced CD with video content, and three art prints.

    Loving You (Awaiting Repress)

Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the great depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during the early '50s, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known.

Elvis had the unmatchable skill of combining his vocals to resemble both R&B and country. This with the persona and choreography of a Hollywood movie star on stage, the young Elvis Presley was soon touring, and over the year achieved a number of regional hit singles, electrifying audiences into frenzies wherever he performed.

The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out his contract and signed the legend to a long term deal, and his first RCA single Heartbreak Hotel forever etched "The King Of Rock And Roll" trademark to his name.

In 1957 after two chart topping albums and a bevy of #1 singles, more incredible fame followed as the Loving You movie starring Elvis Presley became a box office smash. The soundtrack album also was a blockbuster as it topped the charts for over two months, making this his third smash #1 album. Loving You truly proved once again that his career was unlike any other in music history.

Filled with more hits than a jukebox, the Loving You album takes off with two smashes in a row, the classic rocker Mean Woman Blues and the chart topping single (Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear. More soundtrack treasures follow with the beautiful ballad Loving You and the rockin' Party, which truly made the album a treasure trove of hits that seem like a Greatest Hits collection. The album also features a nice helping of solid interpretations of Elvis' own favorites like the Fats Domino classic Blueberry Hill and the timeless Cole Porter hit True Love. In total, the album showcases twelve important Elvis Presley recordings which have truly gone on to become international classics.

In honor of the man, the music, the legend, the King Of Rock And Roll, Friday Music is very proud and honored to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of the RCA Victor classic Loving You by Elvis Presley. As a second installment in their exciting Elvis Presley 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series, they are very pleased to present this masterwork in all its high fidelity glory. American Love

Jake Owen's fifth studio LP is new territory for the singer who's known for lighthearted beach and party tunes, and he feels really good about that. After the release of "Real Life" (which was also around the time his divorce was announced), Owen started over with new songs - and he is not releasing the material he originally planned on.
"I was at a different place when I was making that record," he tells EW of ditching the material. "I was still married, and all of the sudden that ended, and I had to find a way to feel good again.

"I started down that path and then I realized that, for me, making music is as about feeling good as the listeners that gets to hear it," he says. "I have to make an album that I enjoy singing every night."

The album is about love. But don't expect every track to be a gushy love song. It turns out Jake Owen enjoys singing about love on tour: "I kept noticing this reoccurring theme. The word kept appearing, but it was said in such different ways. I'm really proud that I got to encompass how love can be felt different ways but still remain the same, if that makes sense."

His vocals will be on full display for American Love. Though he's not entirely walking away from the ultra-cool speak-singing he's known for, Owen wants to really show country fans he can sing. "Sometimes my voice gets hidden," he admits. "People don't even have the opportunity to know that I love to sing."
The album will street July 29, and Owen reveals that he listens to it in his car. "It's been a long time since I made a record that I put on in my car and listen to on my own - but I can't stop. It makes me happy, and I know how much work I put into it."

Included in the album is a collaboration with Chris Stapleton. He helped write "If He Ain't Gonna Love You," and Stapleton also sings backup. "And it sounds so good," Owen tells Taste of Country Nights host Sam Alex. "He sounds unbelievable on it, so I'm so excited."

    Love Scenes

Like a mink draped over mahogany, Diana Krall's luxuriously supple alto adorns the vintage songs of romance and longing found on Love Scenes with a palpable aura of glamour and late-night cool. Her ostensibly effortless command of phrasing and intonation, whether the mood is seduction or a sweet sassiness, further fortifies the opinion that the Canadian vocalist-pianist possesses one of the great female jazz voices to surface in the late 1990s.

Augmented by spare but skillful instrumentation from bassist Christian McBride and guitarist Russell Malone, Krall sustains a largely quiet (though hardly sleepy) ambience throughout the album's 12 selections, from Irving Berlin's How Deep Is the Ocean (How High Is the Sky), which she also uses as a showcase for her touch at the keyboard, to Gershwin's They Can't Take That Away from Me. Her swing is artfully subdued (All or Nothing at All), and her wry, expressive approach to Peel Me a Grape is pure charm. Yet Krall shines most luminously on languid gems such as I Don't Stand a Ghost of a Chance with You and Garden in the Rain. Anyone in search of an album ideal for watching city lights at 2 a.m. should keep Love Scenes in mind. --Terry Wood
