The In Sound From Way OutOriginally released through the Beastie Boys' French fan club, The In Sound From Way Out! is a collection of the
group's funky instrumentals from Check Your Head and Ill Communication, with a couple of new tracks thrown in.
The Beasties have a flair for loose, gritty funk and soul-jazz, and the stuttering, greasy keyboards of Money Mark
give the music an extra edge -- he helps make the music sound as authentic as anything from the early '70s.1. Ricky's Theme

As a direct result of The Beatles' keen curiosity about experimental music and other avant-garde artistic expression, Apple Records launched its short-lived Zapple subsidiary in February 1969 as a forum for unfettered sonic exploration, or, as announced at the time, 'more freaky sounds'. George's Electronic Sound and John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With The Lions, both released in May 1969, were Zapple's only releases before it was closed down. Electronic Sound's cover art, painted by George, depicts his Moog IIIP (which was later used on four tracks by The Beatles on their album Abbey Road) with the four modules from which the sound was synthesized. Each side of the Electronic Sound LP featured one exploratory long-form work. However, the American version of the album placed the pieces on opposite sides to the UK record, but with the same titles retained on the labels. Consequently, there has been confusion about which track is which. Research revealed that the UK LP was correct with 'Under The Mersey Wall' on Side 1 and No Time Or Space on Side 2.1. Freetown SoundDev Hynes (Blood Orange) is set to release Freetown Sound, his third proper full-length album, and the
most expansive statement of his career. Written and produced by Hynes, Freetown Sound is a tour de
force, a pastiche of Hynes' past, present, and future that melds his influences with his own established
For well over a decade, DevontÉ Hynes has proven himself a virtuoso of versatility, experimenting with
almost every conceivable musical genre under a variety of monikers. After moving to New York City in
the mid-2000s, Hynes became Blood Orange, plumming the oeuvres of the city's musical legends to
create a singular style of urgent, delicate pop music. Freetown Sound, which follows 2011's Coastal
Grooves and 2013's breakthrough Cupid Deluxe, builds upon everything Hynes has done as an artist,
resulting in the most expansive artistic statement of his career.
Drawing from a deep well of techniques
and references, the album unspools like a piece of theater, evoking unexpected communions of moods,
voices, and eras. Freetown Sound derives its name from the birthplace of Hynes' father, the capital of
Sierra Leone. Thematically, it is profoundly personal and unapologetically political, touching on issues of
race, religion, sex, and sexism over 17 shimmering songs. Each song echoes into another, with leitmotifs
carefully stitched throughout, yielding a sound palette that gently recalls elastic funk, slinky R&B, and
pure pop, but resisting easy categorization.
For Hynes, the process of self-discovery involved in creating Freetown Sound proved as valuable as the
finished product. "This record really tries to say things that I've been wanting to express for many years,"
he says. "It looks into my childhood and examines who I am at this point in my life. There are so many
crazy layers to it that it's actually quite hard to talk about it, but the record is very reflective of how my
brain works. It's been very interesting for me trying to understand and tie all of these things together. It's
been a way of working through it."LP 1

From Elvis In MemphisRanked 190/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The Elvis Presley/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series Continues!
Mastered by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray from the Original RCA Records Tapes/Manufactured at RTI
Elvis' Groundbreaking Comeback Album!
Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the Great Depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during the early '50s, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known!
The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out his contract and signed the legend to a long-term deal, and his first RCA single "Heartbreak Hotel" forever etched 'The King Of Rock And Roll' trademark to his name. For the remainder of the 1950's into the mid-60's, Elvis Presley would release several dozen more hit albums and smash singles, spend time in the Army, star in a plethora of top charting films, as well as sell out concert tours around the states and Canada making him the most successful solo artist of all time.
As the turbulent '60s roared on, styles of music would change and rock and roll was becoming more infused with psychedelic and harder rock elements. Elvis wasn't a follower by any means, so he got back to his roots and began another chapter of his career which many have called The Elvis "Comeback" era. First witnessed on his impeccable Elvis television program on NBC-TV in 1968, a new and exciting rock superstar was truly back to reclaim his crown.
Thanks to his chart topping smash recording of "In The Ghetto," this southern fried deep soul sounding Elvis Presley was just what the fans were screaming for and soon enough an entire album was built around this great new sound entitled From Elvis In Memphis. The 1969 album also was a blockbuster as it topped the upper rungs of the pop and country charts, making this one of his biggest albums of his career as well as one of his most revered. From Elvis In Memphis truly proved once again that his career was unlike any other in music history.
Produced by Chips Moman, the From Elvis In Memphis album takes off with the two soul stirring rockers "Wearin' That Loved On Look" and the Jerry Butler Philly groove of "Only The Strong Survive." More Elvis favorites follow with the country ballad "Long Black Limousine" and the rockin' interpretation of Hank Snow's classic "I'm Movin' On." The album also features a nice helping of solid interpretations of Elvis' own favorites like Burt Bacharach's classic "Any Day Now," the timeless "Gentle On My Mind" by John Hartford, and of course the heartfelt Mac Davis composition "In The Ghetto." In total, the album showcases twelve important Elvis Presley recordings which have truly gone onto become definitive classics by any measure of popular music.

From Elvis in Memphis is the thirty-fifth album by Elvis Presley originally released in 1969.
The recording of the album marked the definite return of Presley to non-soundtrack albums, after finishing his movie contract with Paramount pictures.
Motivated by his early influences in country, rhythm and blues, and the latest music trend in Memphis being gospel and soul, Presley chose to record these songs at the Memphis-based American Sound Studio.

REDD-FIV-2916xThe Dirty Heads
Sound Of ChangeThe Sound of Change can't come from external forces, it has to emanate from within. For Dirty Heads, evolution beyond their reggae-rock roots has developed over time and is manifested on their new album "Sound of Change." Due out summer 2014 via Five Seven Music, the album boasts some of the groups' most diverse and ambitious work to date. "Sound of Change" takes a literal meaning with the production of this album, as the band links up with Grammy award winning producer Supa Dups (Nina Sky, Bruno Mars), Buddah Shampoo (Ty Dolla $ign), Niles (of hip hop duo, The Cataracs), Ward 21 (311, Major Lazer reggae collaborators) and long-time friend and collaborator, Rome (Sublime).
The feel-good vibe associated with their sound was not forgotten. Sonically, "Sound of Change" amps up the groundwork laid by previous albums. Fine-tuned alternative choruses work harmoniously with hip-hop influenced production that seams the songs together. Universal themes of compassion, reflection and happiness are at the core of "Sound of Change." "We wanted the songs on this album to touch on the things we deeply care about and the people we are inside" front man Jared (Dirty J) Watson asserts, "but then we want to address the other side - when the weekend comes and we need to let go and just rage." Who can't relate to that feeling?
Vocalist/Guitarist Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B) is constantly looking to connect the dots between the live show with the album tracks, often mentally mapping out the live elements as the songs are being recorded. For the touring cycle surrounding the release "Sound of Change" the band plans to bring a live show that will energetically compliment each new track. Dirty Heads have racked up their miles bringing that live experience to fans across the globe for over a decade. "Now that our lives are touring we get to see the world," both Watson and Bushnell agree, "we're taking stories and vibes from around the world and making this album is the culmination of that."
The band's breakout 2008 album "Any Port In The Storm" included the chart-topping hit track "Lay Me Down" which features current Sublime frontman, Rome. The track had an incredible run for eleven weeks at #1 on the Billboard charts, laying a solid foundation for their follow up sophomore album "Cabin By The Sea" which was released in 2012. Dirty Heads then began their musical metamorphosis with their 2013 acoustic album "Home - Phantoms Of Summer," allowing time for their metamorphosis embodied in "Sound of Change." Their previous work featured contributions from talent such as Del The Funky Homosapien, Matisyahu, Rome (Sublime) and guitar legend Slash.
"Sound of Change" is a melting pot of all the band members' experiences and musical persuasions, addressing both serious and lighthearted subject matter in their signature way. On the lighter side of the spectrum, "Burn Slow" (Produced by Rome, featuring rapper, Tech N9ne) showcases the hip-hop oriented side of the band. With anthemic choruses and a feel-good aura, Watson boasts the song is the perfect soundtrack for those times when you're "having a good time, going out with friends and realize that sometimes you just need to chill." The retro sound and sexy lyrics of "Hear You Comin," highlights Watson's soaring vocals in its hook. The first single, the metaphorical "My Sweet Summer" (produced by Niles from The Cataracs) is, in reality, a song for all seasons. An undeniable groove underlines the lyrical lament. The title track "Sound of Change" is the key manifestation of the artistic maturation of the band. "The world is always changing political and social outlooks and on a broader scale, look at the changes within yourself" Watson reflects, "the song is about embracing the change life is going to bring no matter what, because that change is inevitable." Though there is diversity on "Sound of Change," as a body of work, it is cohesive in a way only Dirty Heads can achieve.
As a full six-piece unit, frontmen Watson and Bushnell are joined by keyboardist/vocalist Shawn Hagood, percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral. This lineup is hell-bent on grabbing new ears with "Sound of Change." Their own journey can be heard within the album- all you have to do is sit back and listen.1. Sound Of Change

Feel The SoundThe fifth album by Imperial Teen, Feel the Sound, succeeds completely at its goal, plainly stated in the collections title. From the exhilarating, propulsive Runaway, which features the entire band on lead vocals, to the expansive final statement of Overtaken, Roddy Bottum, Lynn Perko Truell, Will Schwartz, and Jone Stebbins feel the sound themselves and, in turn, make the listener feel it in ways immediate, pleasurable, and haunting.
ELO-like symphonic pop has become a touchstone for everyone from Justice to Cut Copy in recent years, but Feel the Sound makes it manifest through live instrumentation that possesses a Krautrock level of intuitive synchronicity and a desert island jukeboxs sense of fun.
So many bands lose momentum and focus over time, but a little past its sweet sixteenth year of existence, Imperial Teen somehow grows both younger and wiser, connecting four characters through creative friendship and deep trust, and forging a communal power that continues to grow stronger. Sound Of RevolutionWarzone was a hardcore punk band from New York City. Anti-racist skinhead frontman Raymond "Raybeez" Barbieri was the group's only consistent member between its formation on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 1982 until Barbieri's untimely death due to pneumonia on September 11, 1997. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was receiving treatment that many fans and friends have claimed was shamefully inadequate in a Veterans Health Administration facility when the illness damaged his liver and took his life at the age of 35.
Raybeez's small but loyal following accompanied the former Agnostic Front drummer from the nascent days before the "Youth Crew" era in hardcore punk, on and off of three record labels, before finally turning out en masse for two sold-out benefit shows following his passing.
He is often cited as one of the seminal influences in the genre, as well as one of its first major losses. Unlike the larger body of punk music, the highly youth-oriented hardcore music had previously felt very few such outpourings of grief. In the days after his passing, a sign hung from the awning in front of CBGBs that simply said "R.I.P. Ray." For more than a year following his death, every release on the Victory Records label was dedicated to his memory, as well as two independent compilations. Like the benefit shows following his death, these albums raised funds for several not-for-profit groups Ray had worked for which helped at-risk youth.1. S.O.S.

The Perlman SoundNo one could deny that Itzhak Perlman holds a special place in the world of music - and no one could define it more eloquently than his old friend and colleague, the pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim: It is quite impossible to imagine today's violin heritage without the absolute musical genius of Perlman. The most obvious manifestation of that genius is the famous Perlman Sound - lustrous, warm and generous, its impact compounded by often astounding virtuosity; and yet Perlman makes it all look so easy. In fact, he communicates a positive joy in his playing.
Perlman Sound is released as a primer for the deluxe 59-album boxed set Itzhak Perlman: the Complete Warner Recordings, and may be a good option for fans who don't have enough shelf space for this expansive edition. This collection explores his artistry from the finest concerto highlights (Mendelssohn, Brahms, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Korngold, Sibelius, The Four Seasons), to virtuoso solo and chamber repertoire (Paganini Caprice No.24, Bach Partita No.3, the MÉditation from Thaïs, Flight of the Bumblebee, Zapateado) and klezmer and jazz selections. Don't Press Your Luck! The In Sound Of 60's ConnecticutConnecticut had a solid garage rock scene in the mid-'60s, and more than a few of the best bands in the region logged time at Wallingford's Trod Nossel Studios (aka Syncron Sound), a recording facility run by Thomas Doc Cavalier, truly an unlikely champion of local rock & roll. Cavalier was a successful dentist who gave up his practice to manage New England rockers the Bram Rigg Set and the Shags (not to be confused with the infamous Wiggin sisters), and when Syncron Sound (where both bands had recorded) fell on hard times, he bought the studio, changed the name, and turned it into a profitable business that's still running today.
Don't Press Your Luck! collects material from a handful of New England acts who recorded at Trod Nossel and were overseen by Cavalier, and there's little arguing that the folks at the studio knew their stuff -- compared to many compilations of '60s garage rarities, these tracks sound lively and robust, crackling with teenage energy but recorded with a skill that didn't blunt the enthusiasm of the musicians. (Bob Irwin's superb remastering is also to be commended.) And the music is pretty great, too -- the Wildweeds' classic No Good to Cry (featuring a pre-NRBQ Al Anderson) is the standout here, but there's also some moody beat stuff from the Shags (Don't Press Your Luck, Hide Away), fuzztone-powered angst from the Bram Rigg Set (Sleepless Nights, You Don't Love Me, and a potent cover of Them's I Can Only Give You Everything), and intriguing weirdness from the misanthropic Fourth Ryke (Please Leave, You're Cutting Out).
While you'd expect high goofiness from a group called Uranus and the Five Moons, their material is actually smart and adventurous (Nothing Remains, SSS Happenin' Here). Some radio spots recorded at Trod Nossel also make the cut, as does a demonstration of the wonders of multi-track recorded based around a session by the Shags. Garage fanatics and folks with a taste for Connecticut history will both find this set to be well worth investigating.1. I Can Only Give You Everything: Bram Rigg Set

From DarknessBrutal and aggressive, local band I Exist have belted out a hummer of a third album. Like being thumped repeatedly by a blunt stone, these men know how to impress themselves upon your ears.
A confident, at times understated, and well grooved effort, I Exist lock in and hammer out track after sludgy track. Recorded in Melbourne's Goat Sound Studios, the album was mixed by Phillip Cope and Jay Matheson (The Jam Room, South Carolina).
The result is an album that motors along like a Chevy-powered speedboat. With Blood Duster's Jason Fuller at the production helm, my stomach for metal sonics was well and truly fed. Eat up.

Wall Of Sound (Awaiting Repress)I thought WALL OF SOUND would be the toughest album I would ever make. I was so satisfied with my previous album, INFERNO, more than I have ever been in my whole career. Musically, sonically, and most importantly, I was satisfied with the melodies and soundscapes on a personal level. It was as if I finally found the key to something.
Even as I was still working on INFERNO, I was thinking, how the hell am I ever going to top this next time? I was doomed.
I started WALL OF SOUND with a daunting blank slate and somehow, ideas came out. Refined ideas, complex ideas, small and large scale ideas and plenty of them.
It was as if the exhaustive process of putting INFERNO together strengthened a new creative muscle that I had never zoned in on before, so the first steps of writing WALL OF SOUND felt like a runner who runs a marathon after over-training for a long time. I was well warmed up.
The guitar playing on the album also came quite easy, despite it being without question the most evolved guitar playing of my career. It's a challenge to evolve on one's instrument album after album, especially on your 13th solo album. Luckily this is a challenge that I love. You will find this hard to believe when you hear the density and sheer amount of guitar coming at you from all directions, but in fact, all of the final guitar tracks on WALL OF SOUND were done in 9 days.
This furious and productive pace was made possible by over a year of making demo after demo and spending more time listening and living with the music rather than playing it. I had lived with the songs and edited them so incredibly many times, that by the time I got to the actual recording studio, it was like I had been playing the whole album on tour for a year already. I learned to do this from making INFERNO. This is why a lot of artists` debut albums are so strong - because they have had so much time to reflect on and fix the music, and also, more importantly, attach real life experiences to the songs. I feel like I have a debut album here.
Jinxx from Black Veil Brides and I wanted to do something that would shock his fans and my fans. I arranged a monster of a tune called Sorrow & Madness based on a melody that Jinxx wrote on the violin. I took his sweet melody and added so many twists and turns that it became a mammoth of Martyisms in tandem with a large side of Jinxx that has yet to be heard by his fans. We are both very proud of what happened.
I think Deafheaven is the one heavy band that comes to mind when people ask me to recommend something that`s not Japanese!, I was super excited to work with Shiv from Deafheaven. We wrote Pussy Ghost together and it is one of the most aggressive songs I have ever played, while at the same time evoking grotesquely beautiful moods that I have never felt before. One thing I learned from making INFERNO is that when you have a guest, let them come up with music first. Let it be their baby, so they are personally invested in the song. Then arrange it and do it my way, then add more things together. This gives you a final song that really sounds like both of the people put their heart and souls into the music, as opposed to one guy doing everything and the guest just blasting out a solo somewhere.
Jorgen from Shining also guested on INFERNO and when we finished that song we immediately started talking about what we would do next. For those who don`t know Shining, they are like a steroided out and genius level musicianed out version of Nine Inch Nails for the 21st century, with a charismatic singer/composer (Jorgen) and a wicked sense of melody, that hits me in the gut on every song. (Just Gimme) Something To Fight is the one vocal track on the record and it kills. Even after finishing this song we have started working on more new things for who know what
Having super engineer Paul Fig (Ghost, Alice in Chains, Rush), mixer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Lamb of God) and even the producer responsible for many of Queen's biggest hits and my idol Brian May's guitar sounds, Mack do the mixing on 2 of the songs on the album, is an honor for me for sure.1. Man In Space With SoundsSound, sustain, and silence unite, polyrhythmic Hammond organs and xylophones round off a cosmic eruption! Created for the 1962 World's Fair, this album bundles beautifully textured space sounds with period-perfect narration. Take the Gayway to a surplus of recognizable moments lifted for modern-day samples!
Man In Space With Sounds is a commemorative album of 12 tracks dedicated to the Seattle World's Fair. Envisioned and conducted by Attilio "Art" Mineo, this unearthly album was released in 1959, but its roots go as far back as 1951 when Mineo carved out many of the uncannily clandestine melodies. They're an inebriated burlesque of circus organs, tipsily galloping bongo beats and electronic hydrazine expectorations that enclose the listener. In anticipation of the World's Fair, Attilio mined these pieces from his archive and paired them with out-of-this-world narration to guide your journey. This narration is a milky way of recognizable sound bites that have been sampled by the best.1. Welcome To Tomorrow
