Hello WorldThe first album of new material from the classic lineup of Information Society (Kurt, Paul and James) in over 20 years. After playing some festival dates in Summer, 2013 the band began to discuss working on a new album and the result, _hello world is the offspring. _hello world is rife with songs that have one foot firmly planted in their past and one foot confidently resting in the present; it is filled with classic INSOC dance floor fodder like Get Back, soaring epics like Jonestown, and cinematic textures like Creatures of Light and Darkness. Embracing the many faces of synthetic music while remaining organically Information Society, _hello world isn't as much a rebirth of INSOC as it is a nuclear-powered version that ups the ante. The first single, Land of the Blind, is a swirling, propulsive track that hearkens back to their signature sound yet infuses it with state of the art production values. Longtime InSoc hero Gerald V. Casale adds his vocals in a duet with Kurt on their cover of Beautiful World which adds a modern splash to the Devo classic. The group stormed the club charts in the mid '80s with their Freestyle classic Running. Inspired by the worldwide response to the single, the group seized the opportunity and moved to New York to record their major label debut, Information Society, for Tommy Boy/Reprise. Producer Fred Maher was brought in, fresh from his work on Kraftwerk's Electric Café album, and helped Robb & co. craft a tight pop sound. Initial buzz for the first single What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy) was intense, and proved to be accurate; by the time the group got to its first in-store appearance, two days after the record's release, the album was sold out. 2014 is proving to be quite a year for the band. With history's tendency to repeat itself, it appears INSOC are poised for another takeover. _Hello World, indeed.Land Of The Blind

Master Quality Authenticated
iFi always strives to bring you choice. We've added yet another file format to our portfolio in the form of MQA in the new BL. Take TIDAL or your MQA file to a whole new level.MQA is an audio technology developed by Bob Stuart. This technology makes hi-res audio streaming a reality and delivers studio master quality audio to your headphones.
For mobile DACs with both portability and power considerations, MQA Rendering is the ideal solution as the workload is shared between the host (computer) and the client (DAC). In this case, for a DAC such as the nano iDSD BL, less CPU processing and lower electrical power are needed. This approach for the iFi portable range remains a full end-to-end MQA solution and the listener still enjoys the full benefits of MQA without compromise.
High-Res Audio Certified
The nano iDSD Black Label is one of the best native highest-resolution DACs you can find, supporting PCM up to 32/384 kHz and DSD up to 256 times the sample rate of a CD, even on Mac OSX* and mobile phones*. It is also certified 'High-Res Audio' according to the stringent criteria set down by JEITA and JAS (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association and Japan Audio Society). Don't accept low-resolution music!(*firmware upgrade needs to be applied to enable DSD256 on all devices)
Perfect your listening pleasure
The nano iDSD Black Label lets you choose between the 'Listen' (Minimum Phase Bezier Filter) and 'Measure' (Linear Phase Transient Aligned Filter) options. It's the only portable DAC to give you so much control.
Compatible. Like no other.
The new headphone amplifier delivers more than double the power of the original nano iDSD into 16 Ohm and over four times the power into high-impedance headphones. Meanwhile, the built-in IEMatch circuit ensures that even extremely sensitive headphones and IEMs are 'hiss free' throughout the volume range. The nano iDSD Black Label also includes the S-Balanced wiring system for the headphone outputs, giving the full benefit of balanced outputs when used with headphones and IEMs (fitted with balanced wiring) with low-noise and lower distortion. Even single-ended headphones benefit, as S-Balanced cuts crosstalk in half (without the need to re-wire headphones to benefit).
And as always, we use the ultimate components
As is the AMR/iFi DNA, we love to audition and vet new parts as they come onto the market and where possible, use the ultimate components. Whereas some shun internals pictures, we always strive to show 'what's under the hood' as customers like to make informed purchasing decisions based upon sonics and outright 'sound for the pound'.The nano iDSD Black Label, while very affordable, is packed to the rafters with boutique components. Here are just a few:
- Thin Film Resistors for audio section lower noise & distortion than standard metal film or carbon film types.
- Tantalum Polymer Capacitors for Power Supplies.
- TDK C0G capacitors for the analogue filter.
- Panasonic ECPU Film Capacitor for critical DAC reference voltage.
- Analogue volume control potentiometer for best sound quality.
- Dual-Mono Headphone amplifier with 3.5mm TRRS balanced wiring all the way to the amplifier, despite the amplifier being single-ended this delivers all the benefits of balanced wiring.
- Built-in iEMatch using MELF resistors for transparent matching of very sensitive headphones and/or IEMs.
The parts, the circuitry, the implementation is something else and makes the nano iDSD Black Label a worthy successor to the original nano iDSD. It just goes up against the best out there and kicks butt.
The nano iDSD one of the few portable, truly audiophile DACamps out there and the fact that it is priced appealing to the real-world means many are going to enjoy their music a whole lot more without being excluded by the price.
So, get your toes a tapping to the file format of your choice and get jammin with the new BL.$199.00Battery-powered DAC Buy Now

Uniform DistortionMy head feels like it is exploding with the amount of information we are forced to consume on a daily basis, and how that information is so DISTORTED there is almost no longer any tangible truth," says James. "The name of my new record is UNIFORM DISTORTION because I feel like there is this blanket distortion on society/media and the way we gather our 'news and important information. More and more of us are feeling lost and looking for new ways out of this distortion and back to the truth and finding hope in places like the desert where I write this now...finding hope in the land and in the water and in old books offering new ideas and most importantly in each other and love.1. In every way, Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits is a fundamental collection for every music lover, and the perfect choice for those seeking an introduction into the legend's vast career. Mastered from the original master tapes on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI, this restored 45RPM analog version offers listeners of all stripes to hear some of the world's most important music ever recorded in supreme fidelity. While the tracks stem from several different albums, on this release, they share more in common than Bob Dylan-they share rich, sonic traits steeped in astounding dynamics, great balances, tremendous soundstaging, and realistic imaging. Wider grooves mean more information reaches your ears.
Greatest-hits volumes are often hit-and-miss propositions not because of what they contain, but because of what's missing. Filtering the top selections from the six formative, life-altering albums Dylan made between 1963 and 1966 is an arbitrary process but one performed impeccably on this set. Home to his biggest chart successes as well as his most influential songs, Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits is a veritable template for any aspiring singer-songwriter, an American history lesson, and a seminal release for anyone new to his work-as well as for audiences that find some of his deeper cuts an acquired taste.
Every signature facet of Dylan is represented, and done so authoritatively. Serious, protest folk anthems ("Blowin' in the Wind," "The Times Are A-Changin'") sit alongside defiant rock statements ("Positively Fourth Street"), landscape-changing epics ("Like a Rolling Stone"), beautiful blues-inspired odes ("I Want You"), and surrealist dreamscapes ("Subterranean Homesick Blues"). Infused with literary poetry, impassioned emotion, and career-making performances, this material doubles as a definitive account of American culture and society, and functions as a soundtrack to the era's social movements.
Gathered in one place, it's no wonder the songs here gave Dylan what remains the biggest-selling album of his career. Accept nothing less than the best version in existence.

Kaya (Awaiting Repress)Features Original Artwork
Kaya continues what has become an unspoken tradition in the evolution of Bob Marley & the Wailers discography -- blending western sounds and motifs with the icons and traditions from the very core of Jamaican society. In fact, the very word kaya is synonymous with marijuana in Rastafarian culture. Likewise, the album Kaya could be easily construed as an open love letter or musical paean to the lifestyle that Marley so eagerly embraced and promoted.
Themes of commonality and unity pervade this release more so than previous albums. Likewise, the overt political stances that had become somewhat of a moniker for Marley and the Wailers are temporarily replaced by timeless compositions, such as the eternally optimistic Easy Skanking and Is This Love. Marley had not -- as some proclaimed -- gone soft, however. The light, at times practically giddy, rhythms on Satisfy My Soul contrast the darker brooding sonic and lyrical images on Running Away.
The most pressings issues Marley deals with concern ever-increasing spiritual consciousness. Throughout Kaya, humble thanks is offered to, as well as guidance sought from, Jah -- evidence that the spirituality that permeates the Wailers music is real and not lip service. Kaya could be considered the oasis before the political and personal eruptions that would inform and influence Marley and the Wailers next studio releases Survival and Uprising.1. Easy Skanking

Case HistoryCase History is the debut solo release from bluesy British singer-songwriter Kevin Coyne. Primarily just guitar and vocals, Case History is a powerful album from a very unique voice who was celebrated by folks as wide ranging as John Lydon, Sting, and the Mekons. Coyne, who passed away in 2004, spent much of the '60s working with the mentally disabled, and his song writing is informed by a deep concern for the plight and mistreatment of those who have been tossed off by society. A bit of an outsider himself, he eschewed record industry pressure and maintained focus on his singular artistic vision.1. God Bless The Bride

Diunna GreenleafDiunna Greenleaf and her band Blue Mercy returned to Blue Heaven Studios in 2009 for the 12th annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads and to make this D2D recording. She'd closed the 2006 Blues Masters and absolutely floored the Blue Heaven Studios congregation. So powerful and dynamic and soul-stirring was her performance that many concert regulars have commented that Greenleaf remains their favorite act through all the years. To say she was back in 2009 by popular demand is a wild understatement.
Greenleaf, of Houston, Texas, has a background steeped in both blues and gospel. She's been influenced by the likes of Koko Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Rosetta Tharpe, Sam Cooke and Charles Brown, and she includes intricate patches of jazz and soul in her performances.
Greenleaf came to the life of professional performing quite late, considering how much talent she has to offer. She worked as a school counselor and occasionally sang rather informally for children's and educational benefits. She and her band played a small show at a hospice in celebration of Houston blues legend Teddy Cry Cry Reynolds' birthday. Afterwards, Reynolds told Greenleaf of how he'd known her parents, both gospel musicians, and how she was not only very talented but also had a duty to continue the family legacy of performing. So insistent was Reynolds that he solicited the opinion of his old friend Katie Webster, the Swamp Boogie Queen. Webster confirmed Reynolds' assessment and encouraged Greenleaf to seriously pursue a life in music, even giving her newfound protÉgÉ rules for forming and leading a band.
In 2005, Greenleaf and Blue Mercy represented Houston in the International Blues Challenge, an annual contest in Memphis that features the world's best-unsigned blues bands. Greenleaf and Blue Mercy finished first out of 84 bands from 32 states and eight countries. What's more, Blue Mercy's guitarist, John Richardson, earned the Albert King award for Most Promising Guitarist. From there, the gigs came steadily, and the group's been booked solid ever since.
Greenleaf also served for three years as president of the Houston Blues Society, becoming the first woman elected to that post. As president, she produced the Willie Mae Thorton Blues Festival, bringing in such talent as Texas Johnny Brown, I.J. Gosey, Koko Taylor, Bernard Allison, Mel Waiters and others.

We're Not Going AnywhereAustin-based songwriter David Ramirez will release We're Not Going Anywhere, the follow up to his 2015 breakthrough record Fables and second in partnership with Thirty Tigers.
Most times, when a relationship ends, there is a season of mourning but then the clouds part, the sun rises, and we move on. What happens if and when the sun doesn't rise? What happens if, no matter how hard we try, we can't move on? Ramirez explained about the song.
On the 10 vividly imagined and passionately performed songs on We're Not Going Anywhere David Ramirez takes in the world from his unique perspective: Being half white and half Mexican has made this current political climate especially interesting. So many cultures in this country are being viewed as un-American and it breaks my heart. My family have raised children here, created successful businesses here, and are proud to be a part of this country. Most of what I've seen as of late is misplaced fear. I wanted to write about that fear and how, instead of benefiting us, it sends us spiraling out control.
For We're Not Going Anywhere, Ramirez partnered with producer Sam Kassirer, who has helmed albums by Josh Ritter, Lake Street Dive, Bhi Bhiman, and many other artists. In January 2017 Ramirez and his band decamped to the Great North Sound Society, an eighteenth-century farmhouse in rural Maine that serves as Kassirer's studio.
It's very secluded, which was part of the appeal. We were able to get out of our touring headspace and stay completely involved with the record and what we were doing, explains Ramirez.
We're Not Going Anywhere turns that distance into a big-picture perspective- engaged and informed, compassionately political but not necessarily partisan. We'd take breaks during the day and watch the news and see all the rallies and marches and the disruption and the out-of-control feeling that was everywhere then-and, frankly, still is now. We were looking around and no one was around us. The closest house was a mile away, so it was just us. We were grateful just to retreat from that social tornado for a while and create something that we hoped would be very beautiful.1. Twins
