J.J. Cale never recorded a full album until Eric Clapton scored a huge hit with Cale's 'After Midnight'. Encouraged by friend and producer Audie Ashworth, J.J. Cale recorded Naturally to capitalize on the success of his song.
He released his debut album in 1972, not knowing this would be the beginning of the so-called Tulsa-sound. A lazy, rolling Boogie that contradicted all the commercial styles of Boogie, Blues, and Country-Rock that was popular at the time. This new sound became the blueprint for the adult-oriented Roots Rock of Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler, among others.
Naturally contains a new version of 'After Midnight' recorded by J.J. Cale as well as the hits 'Crazy Mama' and 'Call Me The Breeze', which was later covered by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Over the years J.J. Cale has written several hits for other musicians and recorded more than fifteen albums which makes him one of the most successful and lasting singer- songwriters of his generation.1. Call Me The Breeze

John Weldon J. J. Cale was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Though he avoided the limelight (being temperamentally averse to celebrity), his influence as a musical artist has been widely acknowledged by artists like Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, and Eric Clapton, who described him as one of the most important artists in the history of rock.
J.J. Cale is considered to be one of the originators of the Tulsa Sound, a loose genre drawing on blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz.
Cale unfortunately passed away in 2013, but his legacy lives on.
Number 10 is Cale's 10th album and contains another wonderful and laid back/mellow collection of typical J.J. Cale tunes. Traces, Artificial Paradise, Low Rides and Jailes are considered part of his best 1990s songs.

Producer Audie Ashworth introduced some different instruments, notably vibes and what sound like horns (although none are credited), for a slightly altered sound on Troubadour. But J.J. Cale's albums are so steeped in his introspective style that they become interchangeable. If you like one of them, chances are you'll want to have them all. This one is notable for introducing Cocaine, which Eric Clapton covered on his Slowhand album a year later.

Slowhand: 35th Anniversary Quick View
xEric ClaptonSlowhand: 35th Anniversary
Ranked 325/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Eric Clapton has fashioned albums in many different styles and with many different themes, yet few have the sense of oneness that pervades Slowhand. Slowhand was recorded at Olympic Studios in South West London in May 1977 and was produced by Glyn Johns. Released in November 1977, Slowhand was the most successful album of Clapton's '70s studio recordings. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard chart where it stayed for five weeks, spending a total of 74 weeks on the American album chart.
Slowhand features Wonderful Tonight', Lay Down Sally, and Cocaine - songs that are still heard regularly on radio and at Eric Clapton's live shows. So long after its release is a great recommendation and testimony to its place in Clapton's canon. The album includes cover versions of songs written by some of his favorite songwriters (JJ Cale, John Martyn, Don Williams, Arthur Crudup) along with original compositions by Eric Clapton.1. Cocaine

After years of admiring each other's
musical masterworks, guitar great J.J.
Cale and three-time Rock and Roll Hall
of Famer, 16-time Grammy®winner Eric
Claptonhave teamed up for the first
time to create an original album together, The Road To Escondido. The resulting hybrid sound defies being labeled,
but instead finds influence across the
spectrum of blues, rock, country and
folk. The songs are warm and rich, with
deep flowing rhythms, yet use an economy of words to express much.
In a true collaboration,
Cale (whose songs "After Midnight" and "Cocaine"
Clapton had previously covered) and Clapton jointly
produced and recorded the album, each playing and
singing on the tracks. Cale wrote 11 of the songs,
Clapton wrote "Three Little Girls," John Mayer
wrote "Hard To Thrill" and the duo cover the blues
classic "Sporting Life Blues." Among the numerous
guest artists are Mayer, Taj Mahal, Derek Trucks,
Doyle Bramhall II, Albert Lee, and the late Billy

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase. The G2 Record Cleaning Fluid Kit includes:
- One 2 ounce bottle of G2 Fluid, with mist spray top.
- One 4 ounce bottle of G2 Fluid with spout top. Use to refill the 2 oz mist spray bottle. 900+ mist sprays in this kit.
- Label protector mask. Use to keep your record label dry when using the mist spray.
- Record Cleaning Instruction Booklet.
GrooveWasher G2 Fluid is the result of years of research and testing. The formula was guided by the D series fluids of the 1970s. G2 is perfectly safe for vinyl records. The ingredients are balanced for effective cleaning without rinsing. Evaporates quickly after cleaning per instructions. Anti-static action on contact. Honest cleaning to release the honest sound of the recording.
Designed for use with the GrooveWasher cleaning pads. But you can use G2 Fluid with your preferred absorbent brush or fabric. NOTE: Carbon fiber brushes are non-absorbent and not designed for wet cleaning. Use of G2 Fluid with a carbon fiber brush is not recommended.
RCM owners tell us they prefer G2 Fluid for the cleaning cycle.
G2 does not fix scratches or scuffs. Once the signal in the microgroove is lost, nothing will recover it.
The two ounce mist spray bottle has more than 300 fine mist sprays. With the 4 ounce refill bottle this kit provides 900+ fine mist sprays. Enough to clean both sides of more than 100 records! (YMMV)
Some vinyl cleaning fluids on the market are plain distilled water with limited cleaning action. Others have a high level of alcohol which can harm vinyl records. Some leave a layer in the microgroove that reduces sound fidelity.
High Tech G2 Fluid Contains:- Surfactants: State of the art detergents dissolve and suspend fingerprints and other oily grime.
- Super wetting agent: A specialty chemical that reduces the G2 Fluid's surface tension to reach the bottom of the groove. When you spray G2 Fluid on a record you can see it spread down the grooves.
- Emulsifiers: Holds the oils, dirt, mildew and microdust particles in suspension. Then the microfiber fabric cleaning pad wipes and pulls the dirt-filled solution from the record surface.
- Purified, deionized water: Powerful carrier for the active cleaning ingredients. Eliminates static electric charges on the record's surface on contact.
I haven't realized how dirty my record grooves have been. I used the Groovewasher on a 1979 copy of JJ Cale's 5 record. This is a quiet, laid back, nice, record and I heard parts of JJ Cale's voice that I have not noticed before. This out shines all the competition. I hope this flies off of the shelves as people discover it. Keep up the good work. Thomas Lee
This is simply the best cleaning fluid available today. I highly recommend this product and this company. Dan B

Time Life is very proud to present Rewind: Unreleased Recordings, a trove of previously unreleased songs recorded by American music icon J.J. Cale during his early and most influential years. Featuring vintage tracks from Cale's legendary tenures at Shelter Records and Mercury Records, Rewind is a remarkable collection that exemplifies J.J. Cale's distinctive, legendary style: laid-back guitar and almost whispered vocals with influences of rock 'n' roll, country, blues and jazz. Not only are Rewind's eight Cale-penned songs a time capsule of musical treasures, he also personally selected several covers to include. It's extremely rare for Cale to record another songwriter's material, making these songs particularly extraordinary. The short-lived Viva Records label was one wildly eclectic outfit. Helmed by hitmaker Snuff Garrett, this Los Angeles-based imprint targeted the teen marketplace with a series of extraordinary garage / psych / pop singles. A Trip Down The Sunset Strip Quick View
xThe Leathercoated Minds Featuring J.J. CaleA Trip Down The Sunset Strip
Mastered From Viva Records' Original Mono Tapes
Pressed On Heavy-Duty 180-Gram Vinyl
Limited Edition Of 1000 Copies
The Leathercoated Minds' 1967 release A Trip Down the Sunset Strip is a one-of-a-kind artifact of the psychedelic era. Originally conceived as an exploitation item, it nonetheless emerged as an enduring musical statement, thanks to the talents of those involved, particularly then-unknown Oklahoma-bred guitarist J.J. Cale.
As its title suggests, A Trip Down the Sunset Strip was originally concocted by noted pop producer Snuff Garrett (known for his hitmaking '60s work with the likes of Bobby Vee, Cher and Gary Lewis and the Playboys) to tap into the wave of publicity that surrounded the Sunset Strip and the Hollywood club scene at the time. For the project, Garrett assigned Cale to cut a set of instrumental versions of then-recent psychedelic hits, which were augmented with four Cale originals. It totally captures the era's heady sense of excitement and inspiration.
The visionary talents of Cale virtually assured that A Trip Down the Sunset Strip would transcend its humble origins, becoming an increasingly rare collectible as its reputation grew. Now back in its original LP configuration, our release has been mastered from Viva Records' original mono tapes, pressed on heavy-duty 180-gram vinyl and is available in a limited edition of 1000 copies!1. Like An Arrow Quick View
xBlackberry SmokeLike An Arrow
The songs on Blackberry Smoke's sixth album, Like an Arrow, due October 14, show just how far this authentic American rock band has come as the accomplished group of musicians tackles a diverse set of new ideas, sounds, and territories, long after most bands with half the success might have settled into a well-worn groove.
"We're all like-minded in that we all want to explore," singer and principal songwriter Charlie Starr said. "There's just no way we could make the same record over and over again, though there are some fans who would like us to. That's just way too formulaic. If the Beatles or Led Zeppelin did that, we wouldn't love them as much."
Like An Arrow continues the trend of sonic exploration established on the Blackberry Smoke's previous two releases, 2012's The Whippoorwill and 2015's chart-topping Holding All the Roses. It kicks off with the band's heaviest song to date and explores British rock before moving on to musical stops in places like Macon, Woodstock, Muscle Shoals and Tulsa as Starr and his buddies follow the ramblin' examples of timeless, authentic acts like The Allman Brothers Band, JJ Cale, The Band and others who define rock 'n' roll in all its many facets.1. Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real (Awaiting Repress) Quick View
xLukas Nelson & The Promise of the RealLukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real (Awaiting Repress)
Since their formation as teenagers 10 years ago, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real have quietly developed into one of America's most dazzling new live acts, playing hundreds of shows and major festivals all over the world, attracting a deeply devoted underground following.Still, with a bounty of invaluable experience under their belts, nothing foretold the artistic leap of Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real their new, self-titled album, a mesmerizing, emotionally genuine, endlessly rewarding work of cosmic country soul set for release via Fantasy Records.
Recorded at The Village Studios in West Los Angeles Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real was produced by John Alagia (Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer) and features the band's new six-piece line-up: Lukas Nelson (guitar, vocals), Tato Melgar (percussion), Anthony LoGerfo (drums), Corey McCormick (bass, vocals) along with new members Jesse Siebenberg (steel guitars, Farfisa organ, vocals) and Alberto Bof (piano, Wurlitzer, B3). Jess Wolfe and Holly Lessig of the indie-pop group Lucius contribute background vocals on five tracks evoking Exile on Main St.'s ecstatic, gospel-rooted harmonies, and Lady Gaga added stirring background vocals to Carolina and Find Yourself. Elsewhere, the lilting, Glen Campbell inspired gem, Just Outside of Austin features a guitar solo from Lukas' dad, country music icon Willie Nelson, and piano from his 86-year-old Aunt Bobbi.
The new album includes 12 Lukas Nelson originals that draw on his country and rock lineage including literate Texas songsmiths like his father and 'uncles' Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings, along with the enduring influence of J.J. Cale, The Band, Clapton-era Delaney & Bonnie and of course, his mentor Neil Young.
Young, an essential member of the POTR family, met the band after he caught them at Farm Aid several years back. Neil got in touch after that, and we started talking by email, Lukas recounts. Eventually, he asked us to record with him. We fell in love with each other musically, one thing led to another and we became Neil's band.
I knew I had a lot of good songs that transcended the cultural boundaries between rock & roll and country, Lukas says of his vision for the album. We owe a lot to Neil; we made this record after coming off the road with him for two years. Neil's been mentoring us, and we've been absorbing that energy, and I think it shows. We got acclimated to a different level of artistic expression. I wanted to get the songs as pure as they could be. We've grown.
Set Me Down on a Cloud, the soulful, country-rock epic that opens the album features Lucious' angelic background vocals and Lukas' lovely, lyrical guitar solo as the band stretches out behind him. Forget About Georgia unfolds to a Layla-like outpouring of yearning, as it vividly retraces the turbulent, bittersweet final stages of a doomed love affair. Lukas delivers a full-throttle vocal on the closing track, If I Started Over, a Roy Orbison-inspired rumination of tender devotion. The R&B grind of Find Yourself is a particular triumph as Lukas and Lady Gaga weave an impassioned, romantic ultimatum.

Celebrate 4 Decades Of Kansas With Their Smash Debut Album LP From 1974
First Time 180 Gram Vinyl & Gatefold Cover Presentation
Mastered Impeccably At Friday Music & Capitol Mastering- Pressed At R.T.I.
In 1974, superstars Kansas delivered one of the finest progressive rock albums of the classic
rock era with their debut and self titled smash Kansas. Featuring the stunning line-up of Steve
Walsh on keys and lead vocals, Phil Ehart on drums, Kerry Livgren playing the lead guitar, Robby
Steinhardt on violin and lead vocals and Dave Hope on bass, the Kansas album would soon become
the catalyst to take these rock giants to stages all over the world.
Their first appearance on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert blew the album and the band wide
open, as radio stations were getting calls to play their music and retail stores began to sell tons of
albums. With hard rockers like Can I Tell You, and the brilliant interpretation of J.J. Cale's Bringing
It Back, the Kansas album could do no wrong.
Dig deeper into the grooves, and there you find prog rock champions like the beautiful
Lonely Wind, the artistry of The Pilgrimage and of course the album closer anthem Death Of Mother
Nature Suite. These tunes and the aformetioned rockers would become the heart and soul of the
band and bring them future superstar acclaim afforded to only a few.
Friday Music is no stranger to the stunning recordings of Kansas. Therefore it is with much
excitement to announce another installment in the Kansas/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl
Series with their legendary debut masterpiece Kansas. Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso at
Friday Music Studios and Capitol Mastering and pressed at RTI, this stunning LP was long overdue
for the audiophile vinyl domain.

Slowhand: 35th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Quick View
xEric ClaptonSlowhand: 35th Anniversary Deluxe Edition
The album includes cover versions of songs written by some of his favorite songwriters (JJ Cale, John Martyn, Don Williams, Arthur Crudup) along with original compositions by Eric Clapton.Disc 1: Slowhand Remastered and Expanded

Live In San Diego (with Special Guest JJ Cale) Quick View
xEric ClaptonLive In San Diego (with Special Guest JJ Cale)
Eric Clapton's Live in San Diego With Special Guest JJ Cale is a live album from the 2007 tour featuring JJ Cale, Doyle Bramhall II, Robert Cray, Derek Trucks and more. Almost 2 hours of music including previously unreleased versions of Layla, Tell The Truth, Cocaine and Crossroads.
Recorded at Clapton's March 15, 2007 performance at the iPayOne Center in San Diego, CA, this concert was part of a world tour that was much loved by Clapton fans and featured a stellar band that included guitarists Derek Trucks (now of the Tedeschi Trucks band) and Doyle Bramhall II. The two-hour San Diego concert was a highlight of the tour as it featured JJ Cale as a special guest on five tracks (including "After Midnight" and "Cocaine"), as well as Robert Cray on the final song of the record, "Crossroads."
After successfully covering several JJ Cale songs over his career, Clapton finally collaborated with Cale in 2006 on the original album Road to Escondido. At the time, Clapton said "This is the realization of what may have been my last ambition, to work with the man whose music has inspired me for as long as I can remember." So it is fitting that one year later, Cale joined Clapton on stage for this special concert where they performed five songs together - underlining the mutual respect the two musicians had for each other.
The concert features a superb set list from across Eric's career. Notably, it includes songs from Eric's classic Derek and the Dominos album Layla, with Derek Trucks playing many of Duane Allman's original guitar parts.
Clapton's career, spanning more than 50 years, has resulted in 18 Grammy Awards and the distinct honor of being the only triple inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
