Jj Cale Vinyl'
New Years Eve In TulsaLive At Cain's Ballroom In Tulsa, OK On December 31st, 1975
The superb recording featured on this deluxe vinyl release comes from an FM radio broadcast of Cale's New Year's Eve performance in 1975, at Cain's Ballroom in the town in which he was raised, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Featuring a majestic set of J.J. Cale favorites taken from the albums he had released by this juncture in his career, along with a couple of cuts which at the time had yet to grace a J.J. studio record, all performed in an extended format, radically different from the album versions. This recording illustrates perfectly where J.J. Cale was musically by the end of 1975 and shows the direction in which he was moving for the next phase of his marvelous career.LP 1

CollectedCollected, the ultimate J.J. Cale collection from 2013 already proved to be a highlight of Music On Vinyl's catalog. Now we're revisiting this essential compilation in a slightly slimmer package: without printed innersleeves, and with a 4-page booklet instead of the 8 pages of liner note material previously included.
This American cult legend has turned his laidback style into a trademark. J.J. Cale has forged an inspiring career that spans four decades. He received his first major exposure in 1970 thanks to Eric Clapton, who turned J.J. Cale's After Midnight into a hit song overnight. A few years later, Clapton repeated the trick with Cocaine.
But the legacy of J.J. Cale has much more to offer: collected on three 180 gram LPs chock full of rootsy Americana songs that will stay in the back of your head long after you turned off the record player.LP1

John Weldon J. J. Cale was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Though he avoided the limelight (being temperamentally averse to celebrity), his influence as a musical artist has been widely acknowledged by artists like Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, and Eric Clapton, who described him as one of the most important artists in the history of rock.
J.J. Cale is considered to be one of the originators of the Tulsa Sound, a loose genre drawing on blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz.
Cale unfortunately passed away in 2013, but his legacy lives on.
Number 10 is Cale's 10th album and contains another wonderful and laid back/mellow collection of typical J.J. Cale tunes. Traces, Artificial Paradise, Low Rides and Jailes are considered part of his best 1990s songs.1. Lonesome Train

Live In San Diego (with Special Guest JJ Cale)Eric Clapton's Live in San Diego With Special Guest JJ Cale is a live album from the 2007 tour featuring JJ Cale, Doyle Bramhall II, Robert Cray, Derek Trucks and more. Almost 2 hours of music including previously unreleased versions of Layla, Tell The Truth, Cocaine and Crossroads.
Recorded at Clapton's March 15, 2007 performance at the iPayOne Center in San Diego, CA, this concert was part of a world tour that was much loved by Clapton fans and featured a stellar band that included guitarists Derek Trucks (now of the Tedeschi Trucks band) and Doyle Bramhall II. The two-hour San Diego concert was a highlight of the tour as it featured JJ Cale as a special guest on five tracks (including "After Midnight" and "Cocaine"), as well as Robert Cray on the final song of the record, "Crossroads."
After successfully covering several JJ Cale songs over his career, Clapton finally collaborated with Cale in 2006 on the original album Road to Escondido. At the time, Clapton said "This is the realization of what may have been my last ambition, to work with the man whose music has inspired me for as long as I can remember." So it is fitting that one year later, Cale joined Clapton on stage for this special concert where they performed five songs together - underlining the mutual respect the two musicians had for each other.
The concert features a superb set list from across Eric's career. Notably, it includes songs from Eric's classic Derek and the Dominos album Layla, with Derek Trucks playing many of Duane Allman's original guitar parts.
Clapton's career, spanning more than 50 years, has resulted in 18 Grammy Awards and the distinct honor of being the only triple inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

J.J. Cale: Rewind: The Unreleased RecordingsTime Life is very proud to present Rewind: Unreleased Recordings, a trove of previously unreleased songs recorded by American music icon J.J. Cale during his early and most influential years. Featuring vintage tracks from Cale's legendary tenures at Shelter Records and Mercury Records, Rewind is a remarkable collection that exemplifies J.J. Cale's distinctive, legendary style: laid-back guitar and almost whispered vocals with influences of rock 'n' roll, country, blues and jazz. Not only are Rewind's eight Cale-penned songs a time capsule of musical treasures, he also personally selected several covers to include. It's extremely rare for Cale to record another songwriter's material, making these songs particularly extraordinary. He puts his personal spin on Eric Clapton's Golden Ring, Leon Russell's My Cricket, Waylon Jennings' Waymore's Blues and Randy Newman's Rollin'.1. Guess I Lose

TroubadourTroubadour is the fourth album by JJ Cale, released in 1976. Eric Clapton covered the song Cocaine on his 1977 album Slowhand, turning it into one of his biggest hits.
Clapton later covered the track Travelin' Light for his 2001 studio album Reptile. Travelin' Light was also recorded by Widespread Panic for their album Space Wrangler in 1988.
Producer Audie Ashworth introduced some different instruments for a slightly altered sound on Troubadour. But the album still bears the typical introspective J.J. Cale style we all love so much!1. Hey Baby

J.J. Cale never recorded a full album until Eric Clapton scored a huge hit with Cale's 'After Midnight'. Encouraged by friend and producer Audie Ashworth, J.J. Cale recorded Naturally to capitalize on the success of his song.
He released his debut album in 1972, not knowing this would be the beginning of the so-called Tulsa-sound. A lazy, rolling Boogie that contradicted all the commercial styles of Boogie, Blues, and Country-Rock that was popular at the time. This new sound became the blueprint for the adult-oriented Roots Rock of Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler, among others.
Naturally contains a new version of 'After Midnight' recorded by J.J. Cale as well as the hits 'Crazy Mama' and 'Call Me The Breeze', which was later covered by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Over the years J.J. Cale has written several hits for other musicians and recorded more than fifteen albums which makes him one of the most successful and lasting singer- songwriters of his generation.1. Call Me The Breeze

A Trip Down The Sunset Strip
Mastered From Viva Records' Original Mono Tapes
Pressed On Heavy-Duty 180-Gram Vinyl
Limited Edition Of 1000 Copies
The Leathercoated Minds' 1967 release A Trip Down the Sunset Strip is a one-of-a-kind artifact of the psychedelic era. Originally conceived as an exploitation item, it nonetheless emerged as an enduring musical statement, thanks to the talents of those involved, particularly then-unknown Oklahoma-bred guitarist J.J. Cale.
As its title suggests, A Trip Down the Sunset Strip was originally concocted by noted pop producer Snuff Garrett (known for his hitmaking '60s work with the likes of Bobby Vee, Cher and Gary Lewis and the Playboys) to tap into the wave of publicity that surrounded the Sunset Strip and the Hollywood club scene at the time. For the project, Garrett assigned Cale to cut a set of instrumental versions of then-recent psychedelic hits, which were augmented with four Cale originals. It totally captures the era's heady sense of excitement and inspiration.
The visionary talents of Cale virtually assured that A Trip Down the Sunset Strip would transcend its humble origins, becoming an increasingly rare collectible as its reputation grew. Now back in its original LP configuration, our release has been mastered from Viva Records' original mono tapes, pressed on heavy-duty 180-gram vinyl and is available in a limited edition of 1000 copies!1. The Road To Escondido
The 2-LP Set Is Pressed At R.T.I. On 180-gram High-Performance Vinyl
After years of admiring each other's
musical masterworks, guitar great J.J.
Cale and three-time Rock and Roll Hall
of Famer, 16-time Grammy®winner Eric
Claptonhave teamed up for the first
time to create an original album together, The Road To Escondido. The resulting hybrid sound defies being labeled,
but instead finds influence across the
spectrum of blues, rock, country and
folk. The songs are warm and rich, with
deep flowing rhythms, yet use an economy of words to express much.
In a true collaboration,
Cale (whose songs "After Midnight" and "Cocaine"
Clapton had previously covered) and Clapton jointly
produced and recorded the album, each playing and
singing on the tracks. Cale wrote 11 of the songs,
Clapton wrote "Three Little Girls," John Mayer
wrote "Hard To Thrill" and the duo cover the blues
classic "Sporting Life Blues." Among the numerous
guest artists are Mayer, Taj Mahal, Derek Trucks,
Doyle Bramhall II, Albert Lee, and the late Billy

throughout the album.LP 1

Old SockOld Sock marks the 21st solo studio album for the guitar legend, and is released on the Bushbranch Records label, a branch of Surfdog. This double LP also includes a download card.
On the heels of a sold-out Crossroads Guitar Festival and the announcement of a major world tour, Eric Clapton announced the release of his 21st studio album and his first album since 2010. The album, Old Sock produced by Eric Clapton, Doyle Bramhall II, Justin Stanley and Simon Climie, features two original songs Every Little Thing and Gotta Get Over. Old Sock is released on Clapton s Bushbranch label, distributed through a collaboration with Surfdog Records in the USA and Canada.
The album is a collection of some of Clapton's favorite songs spanning from his childhood to present day that highlights his vast appreciation and knowledge of music. From Leadbelly to J.J. Cale; Peter Tosh to George Gershwin; Hank Snow to Gary Moore and Taj Mahal, this record is a celebration of so many who have inspired Clapton s rich musical life. Clapton has always had a remarkable ability to recognize great songs and a gift for knowing how to uniquely interpret them, as he does on Old Sock. The album explores romantic standards of the 30's, reggae, soul, rock, and includes a stand out playful collaboration with Paul McCartney, to create an experience that is quintessential Clapton.
Clapton assembled a band for the recordings consisting of longtime collaborators Steve Gadd (drums), Willie Weeks (bass) and Chris Stainton (keyboards) along with some surprise guest additions. JJ Cale joins the song Angel for backing vocals and guitar, Chaka Khan joins as backing vocalist for Get On Over, Steve Winwood on the Hammond B3 Organ on Still Got The Blues, Paul McCartney on bass/vocals on All of Me, Jim Keltner on drums for Our Love is Here To Stay.1. GrooveWasher G2 Record Cleaning Fluid KitHave a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.
The G2 Record Cleaning Fluid Kit includes:
- One 2 ounce bottle of G2 Fluid, with mist spray top.
- One 4 ounce bottle of G2 Fluid with spout top. Use to refill the 2 oz mist spray bottle. 900+ mist sprays in this kit.
- Label protector mask. Use to keep your record label dry when using the mist spray.
- Record Cleaning Instruction Booklet.
GrooveWasher G2 Fluid is the result of years of research and testing. The formula was guided by the D series fluids of the 1970s. G2 is perfectly safe for vinyl records. The ingredients are balanced for effective cleaning without rinsing. Evaporates quickly after cleaning per instructions. Anti-static action on contact. Honest cleaning to release the honest sound of the recording.
Designed for use with the GrooveWasher cleaning pads. But you can use G2 Fluid with your preferred absorbent brush or fabric. NOTE: Carbon fiber brushes are non-absorbent and not designed for wet cleaning. Use of G2 Fluid with a carbon fiber brush is not recommended.
RCM owners tell us they prefer G2 Fluid for the cleaning cycle.
G2 does not fix scratches or scuffs. Once the signal in the microgroove is lost, nothing will recover it.
The two ounce mist spray bottle has more than 300 fine mist sprays. With the 4 ounce refill bottle this kit provides 900+ fine mist sprays. Enough to clean both sides of more than 100 records! (YMMV)
Some vinyl cleaning fluids on the market are plain distilled water with limited cleaning action. Others have a high level of alcohol which can harm vinyl records. Some leave a layer in the microgroove that reduces sound fidelity.
High Tech G2 Fluid Contains:
- Surfactants: State of the art detergents dissolve and suspend fingerprints and other oily grime.
- Super wetting agent: A specialty chemical that reduces the G2 Fluid's surface tension to reach the bottom of the groove. When you spray G2 Fluid on a record you can see it spread down the grooves.
- Emulsifiers: Holds the oils, dirt, mildew and microdust particles in suspension. Then the microfiber fabric cleaning pad wipes and pulls the dirt-filled solution from the record surface.
- Purified, deionized water: Powerful carrier for the active cleaning ingredients. Eliminates static electric charges on the record's surface on contact.
I haven't realized how dirty my record grooves have been. I used the Groovewasher on a 1979 copy of JJ Cale's 5 record. This is a quiet, laid back, nice, record and I heard parts of JJ Cale's voice that I have not noticed before. This out shines all the competition. I hope this flies off of the shelves as people discover it. Keep up the good work. Thomas Lee
This is simply the best cleaning fluid available today. I highly recommend this product and this company. Dan B

ClaptonCo-produced by guitarist and long-time collaborator Doyle Bramhall II, Clapton features an all star cast of musical collaborations started with the legendary JJ Cale, drummer Jim Keltner, bassist Willie Weeks, and keyboardist Walt Richmond-and the sessions later added guests including Steve Winwood, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Allen Toussaint, and Derek Trucks. Clapton created a collection that touches on everything from century-old traditional brass bands to little-known country blues to brand-new originals. The result is both relaxed and revelatory, and unlike anything the guitarist has done in his legendary career.
This album wasn't what it was intended to be at all, it's actually better than it was meant to be because, in a way, I just let it happen. It's an eclectic collection of songs that weren't really on the map and I like it so much because if it's a surprise to the fans, that's only because it's a surprise to me, as well. - Eric Clapton01 Travelin' Alone

Boerum PalaceColored Vinyl
Boerum Palace is Steve Gunn's second album, originally released in 2009. The album starts off with a headlong rush into the hypnotic "Mr. Franklin". Gunn's fluid playing style, especially as portrayed within this track, provides ample space for the development of infectious musical themes. The track ends in a dextrous duel between Gunn's guitar and guest Marc Orleans' (of D. Charles Speer & the Helix, Sunburned Hand of the Man) vicious pedal steel. The album mixes Gunn's long-form blues / raga / psych explorations alongside briefer cuts that equally display his songcraft. These tracks, such as "Variation II" and "Jadin's Dream," demonstrate that Gunn is equally confident with shorter or longer compositions. Gunn's voice is joined by an ethereal turn from the Vanishing Voice's Heidi Diehl on the album's central and haunting "House of Knowledge." The track opens with a building central guitar theme. This theme allows Gunn to layer on further guitar explorations. The tone set by these musical themes builds into the duo's vocal delivery that delivers volumes despite being uttered in gentle tones. Other highlights include "Cryin' Eyes," an inspired reworking of J.J. Cale's "Crying Eyes" featuring backing instrumentation from Marc Orleans, and the richly textured album finale "Mustapha's Exit."1. Mr. Franklin

Like An ArrowThe songs on Blackberry Smoke's sixth album, Like an Arrow, due October 14, show just how far this authentic American rock band has come as the accomplished group of musicians tackles a diverse set of new ideas, sounds, and territories, long after most bands with half the success might have settled into a well-worn groove.
"We're all like-minded in that we all want to explore," singer and principal songwriter Charlie Starr said. "There's just no way we could make the same record over and over again, though there are some fans who would like us to. That's just way too formulaic. If the Beatles or Led Zeppelin did that, we wouldn't love them as much."
Like An Arrow continues the trend of sonic exploration established on the Blackberry Smoke's previous two releases, 2012's The Whippoorwill and 2015's chart-topping Holding All the Roses. It kicks off with the band's heaviest song to date and explores British rock before moving on to musical stops in places like Macon, Woodstock, Muscle Shoals and Tulsa as Starr and his buddies follow the ramblin' examples of timeless, authentic acts like The Allman Brothers Band, JJ Cale, The Band and others who define rock 'n' roll in all its many facets.1. 1981 was a Winning year for Santana. With the release of their multi-format hit album Zebop!, Carlos Santana and The Santana Band catapulted onto the top ten, the first time in several years, and truly changed the course of their musical history for the next several decades. Thanks in part to the Russ Balard (Argent) penned smash hit single Winning, the band not only maintained their solid following, but also brought in a whole new fan base, which has pledged loyalty to this legendary band since.
Following a similar formula as on their previous gold album Marathon, Zebop! featured smash hit tracks like their powerful rendition of Cat Stevens' Changes and J.J. Cale's The Sensitive Kind. The 12 track powerhouse also featured some of their most revered tunes like Searchin', Brightest Star and a trip back to the Abraxas sound with É Papa RÉ. With the effervescent lead vocals of Alex Ligertwood, the power drumming of Graham Lear, the percussive beat of Armando Pereza, together with the skillful instrumentation of the core band, all fronted by the legendary Carlos Santana, this album truly illustrated a powerful band that hit its stride.
