    Crusade

    Mono Edition

1967s Crusade finds John Mayall welcoming another soon-to-be-famous young guitarist18-year-old fretboard phenom Mick Taylor, who would soon become a key member of the Rolling Stonesto the Bluesbreakers fold. With John McVie on bass and Hughie Flint and Keef Hartley sharing drumming duties, Mayall tackles an adventurous 12-song set that encompasses several Mayall originals and Taylors instrumental showcase Snowy Wood, as well as numbers by such notables as Willie Dixon, Eddie Kirkland and Sonny Boy Williamson. Regarded by many fans as the final third of the influential electric-blues trilogy that began with Blues Breakers and A Hard Road, Crusade followed its predecessors into the British Top Ten, while continuing to open young American ears to the timeless power of the blues.

    Fleetwood Mac (1968)

In 1967 Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie played in the legendary John Mayall & The Blues Breakers, and were given free studio time during which they recorded five songs. Peter Green was so convinced of this band's musical prowess that he formed it on the spot and named it after the drummer & the bass player.

John McVie wasn't convinced & it forced Fleetwood Mac to find a temporary replacement in Bob Burning. After a short while, however, he was as hooked on the Elmore James influenced British Blues that he left John Mayall to take a risk on a group of unknowns. The rest is history.

Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton (Out Of Stock)

Ranked 195/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

    Mono Edition

1966s seminal Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton marked John Mayalls emergence as a major recording artist, as well as his commercial breakthrough. The 12-song LP, considered by many to be the most influential British blues album of all time, marked the official introduction of Mayalls long-running, ever-evolving combo the Bluesbreakers. Mayall shares the spotlight here with soon-to-be-superstar guitarist Eric Clapton (who quit the Yardbirds in order to pursue his blues muse with Mayall), along with future Fleetwood Mac co-founder John McVie on bass and Hughie Flint on drums. Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton is generally acknowledged as a musical milestone for Clapton; his scorching playing and over-the-top tone dominates the entire album. With the groups punchy performances captured in straightforward style by noted producer Mike Vernon, the album offers a potent combination of Mayall originals and distinctive interpretations of songs by Ray Charles, Freddie King, Little Walter and Otis Rush.

Bossa Nova and Blues (Out Of Stock)

This Sundazed Mono Edition Reproduces The Original Artwork And Presents The Original 12-Song LP On 180 Gram Vinyl Mastered From The Original Analog Reels And Pressed At Record Technology Inc.

One of the Three Kings of blues guitar along with B.B. and Albert, Texas-born Freddy (Freddie) King influenced everyone from Eric Clapton and Peter Green in the UK to Jerry Garcia and Stevie Ray Vaughan in the States. But even his staying up all night playing poker with Grand Funk wasn't enough to prevent his seminal King/Federal albums from staying out of print on vinyl for decades - until Sundazed came to the rescue. The reissue campaign that began with meticulously mastered editions of King classics Let's Hide Away and Dance Away with Freddy King, Freddy King Gives You a Bonanza of Instrumentals, and Freddy King Goes Surfin' continues with his rare 1963 offering, Bossa Nova and Blues. In the tradition of his surfing album, which wasn't really surf, Bossa Nova and Blues had no bossa nova - but the advertising was at least half true, and hey, there were two cuts that had "bossa nova" in the title. Though King was best known for blues instrumentals, "Bossa Nova Blues" and "The Bossa Nova Watusi Twist" (dig the dance craze threesome) were actually the only two instrumentals on an album otherwise dedicated to bluesy ballads. But of course, Freddie made it work - churning out bonafide classics like the karmic "Someday, After A While (You'll Be Sorry)" (later covered by John Mayall and the Blues Breakers on A Hard Road, also reissued on Sundazed mono LP), the emotive "The Welfare (Turns Its Back on You)," the soulful "It Hurts to Be In Love," and the more uptempo, New Orleans-flavored "You're Barkin' Up the Wrong Tree."
