    It's A Shame About Ray

On It's a Shame About Ray (1992), songwriter Evan Dando and Juliana Hateld perfected their signature style of Punk- Pop-meets-Folk-Rock. The album is a beautiful collection of sunny melodies and hooks, delivered with typical nonchalance by Dando. A smorgasbord of immediately accessible and thoroughly catchy songs, his laid-back observations of middle-class outcasts are little gems in their own right.

Highlights are the heartbroken title track, "Confetti", "Bit Part In Your Life," the love letter to substances "My Drug Buddy," or the wonderful "Alison's Starting to Happen," where a girl nds herself as she discovers Punk Rock. His warm, friendly voice is offset by Juliana Hateld's girlish harmonies, giving the songs an emotional resonance.

    It's A Shame About Ray

After numerous line-up changes and independent releases, the Lemonheads signed to Atlantic Records for their 1990 release Lovey. It was with that record that Evan Dando began to move from Replacements style punk-pop into more gentle and jangly territory, and its here, on Its A Shame About Ray, that he perfected his vision and launched the Lemonheads into international stardom. Its A Shame About Ray is one of the hookiest and catchiest records of the alternative era and it has remained a true classic across all genres.

    One Mo' 'Gen

One Mo' 'Gen is the second album by Southern rap group 95 South, released in 1995. It peaked at #158 on the Billboard 200 and contained the minor hit Rodeo which peaked at #77 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was produced mostly by the production duo of Jay Ski and C.C. Lemonhead, who also were members of the 69 Boyz and formed the Quad City DJ's. It didn't chart quite as well as the group's debut, Quad City Knock; however, it is described by Allmusic as an improvement on their debut, featuring more confident rapping and stronger, funkier backing tracks.
