Live-Evil (1970) by Miles Davis is a double live album which features different settings of Miles Davis' bands.
One of such recordings is of a 1970 gig at the Cellar Door, which featured a band comprised of Miles, bassist Michael Henderson, drummer Jack DeJohnette, guitarist John McLaughlin, saxophonist Gary Barts, and Keith Jarrett. The group is groovy, fast, and funky.
The other setting was recorded with Ron Carter, Dave Holland, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock among others. This record is complex, but somehow still groovy. Tracs like "Sivad", "Funky Tonk", and "What I say" shows enthusiasm and wonderfully live material.LP 1

Live EvilOriginally released in 1971, Live-Evil is one of Miles Davis' most extraordinary records. Here, on a double album comprised of both live and studio recordings, the electric sound that Davis first unveiled the year previous emerges as a fully formed and powerful beast. Featuring one of his finest bands, which included John McLaughlin, Keith Jarrett, Gary Bartz, Jack DeJohnette and Brazilian percussionist Airto, Live-Evil is a stunning exploration of the outer limits of jazz, and one of the most influential records of the '70s. Dark Side Of The MuleGov't Mule have announced the release of a live Pink Floyd covers album entitled Dark Side Of The Mule. It was recorded in Boston in 2008, when Warren Haynes and co delivered a three-hour performance of Floyd tracks.

Lesser EvilDoldrums first full length, Lesser Evil, comes after many years of smaller EPs, performance, and video art. Airick Woodhead, deeply entrenched in the Montreal and Toronto DIY scenes, has been a longtime friend and collaborator of Arbutus. Woodhead is "immune to technology"; the singer, producer, multi instrumentalist certainly uses technology hard enough that it breaks down completely; the cover art for Lesser Evil is simply a photograph of his broken Laptop screen. The album features warped short-looped samples, which congeal with drum parts and Woodhead's distinct falsetto, creating a live energy that is experiential, raw and solitary.
The live show takes these songs and sets them with percussion - often with two or more live drummers on stage. The songs on Lesser Evil shift with the energy of experience, a notion that plays strongly on Doldrums entire aesthetic - exploring the disorienting, exotic and truly compelling experimental realm of Airick Woodhead.1. Evil SpiritsThe Damned have announced details of their new album, Evil Spirits, their first new album in a decade. It was made at Atomic Sound Studios in Brooklyn with Bowie collaborator/producer Tony Visconti. Says Captain Sensible:
We deliberately recorded the album retro style. The same way our debut album was made, basically. There's something wonderful about the seventies sounds; glam, rock and punk records, they all sound so great and Tony specializes in beautifully crafted old school production. He had us all playing live, bashing it out in the same room with a focus on getting the initial band version of each song as close as possible to the finished thing.1. God Damn Evil (Awaiting Repress)Continuing a trend started with their 2013 release, "No More Hell To Pay", Stryper's 10th studio album, "God Damn Evil" sees the band offering up their heaviest release yet! Opening track, "Take It To The Cross" features a guest appearance from Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall, Act Of Defiance) on death growls, yes, death growls, and immediately shows you that Michael Sweet and company have zero intentions of mellowing with age.
The next two tracks, "Sorry" and "Lost", are classic Stryper anthems, but with a modern heaviness and edge that carries the band's sound into the 21st century and beyond. The title track, as with all previous Stryper releases, proves to be an instant classic and surely will be a setlist staple on the upcoming tour cycle."You Don't Even Know Me" and "The Valley" are excellent follow-ups to the glorious title track, with the latter being a true example of how heavy doesn't have to equate to "fast". Later, "Can't Live Without Your Love" showcases that Sweet can still write ballad lyrics, but doesn't need the saccharine music popularize in '80s heavy metal to accompany it and can take it tasteful new directions.
Fans of the previous two releases, "No More Hell To Pay" and "Fallen" and of the band's classic early material will find much to love here as the band continues to push the envelope of their musical abilities.1. Take It to the Cross

OnyxIn the twelve years since their inception, Michigan's Pop Evil have undergone their fair share of changes. Members, style, labels, you name it and there is a decent change the group has made some kind of tweak in the last decade. This is not a complaint, however, as every new evolution of the group has made them a tighter, more focus band. Since 2010s War Of Angels the group has again undergone changes, including the addition of drummer Chachi Riot and guitarist Nick Fuelling, as well as their decision to not use acoustic guitars, and once again the mitten state's greatest rock band has come out better for their efforts.
The idea of overcoming your demons and that which holds you back from being who you want to be or doing what you desire may sound like an overly-present theme on the album, but it never feels so familiar that it becomes tired. Instead, each track on Onyx feels like an anthem in its own right, targeting those with various doubts about themselves and the world around them. Pop Evil harness tap into the fear of the unknown that lies within each of us in our own unique ways and offer up twelve tracks to motivate and inspire individuals to take their lives into their own hands. Onyx is one of the most cohesive, memorable, and downright fun listening experiences of the year. It's the best album Pop Evil have ever written, and it's littered with moments that indicate there are years of great music still come. I cannot think of a single reason anyone who considers themselves a fan of rock and roll should not buy Onyx. As of May 14, it will officially be an album to beat in 2013, and it could not have come from a more deserving and hard working band.

Stranger Heads PrevailGreen Colored Vinyl
New Jersey alt/prog connoisseurs, Thank You Scientist, have announced details of their brand new full-length, Stranger Heads Prevail that will be released via Evil Ink Records. The label is best known for being owned and ran by Coheed and Cambria lead singer, Claudio Sanchez.
Sanchez says of the band, "Thank You Scientist is a rare band that stretches the boundaries of the listener's expectation. Their compositions are a tornado of complexity and style that compel the audience to stay present for every note."
Following the breakout success of their debut label album, Maps Of Non-Existent Places, the band set to follow one simple but resolute goal: no expectations. Constantly writing and with an intense rehearsal schedule, the band began crafting Stranger Heads Prevail together in late 2014 under the watchful ear of guitarist/primary songwriter Tom Monda.
According to Monda, musically the band wanted to make a rock record with multiple layers of compartmentalized detail, a la The Beatles "Abbey Road" or Queens' "Night at the Opera". "This record has a lot of attention to detail, which will hopefully keep people coming back for more. We wanted to make something that held up to both surface listens as well as tailor to listeners who are listening with a microscope of sorts. With more listens, I feel the songs unveil themselves more and more."
Vocalist and lyricist Salvatore Marrano adds, "This is a deeply personal record for me, albeit positive, but I found myself continually needing to find the positive in all of the negative in our lives. We're all just trying to sift through the bullshit to find a bit of hope."1. Prologue: A Faint Applause

Sco-MuleIn late September of 1999, John Scofield teamed with Gov't Mule, then featuring original bass player the late Allen Woody, in Georgia for two legendary shows. These shows were recorded with the intention of it being a live release after the studio album Life before Insanity. Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles: Live! (Speakers Corner)
'Live' was the watchword of the liberated and permissive post-Woodstock era, when anyone and everyone could do wonderful things and musicians really let themselves go - and it opened the door for Santana and his musicians. While devotees of pure styles found it hard to dip into the bubbling melting pot of progressive rock, others - hungry for emotion - plunged eagerly into the moloch world known as 'Sounds of the 70s'.
Among the great events during this time was the get-together of Santana and a grandiose group of musicians together with Jimmy Hendrix's ex-drummer Buddy Miles at the Sunshine Festival in Hawaii. Inspired by the electrifying atmosphere we hear the smacking sound of an organ in John McLaughlin's Marbles, lush rocking Latin grooves (Lava) and gospel-like vocal artistry (Evil Ways). After an intensively re-worked version of the old favourite Them Changes, in which the band certainly lets one know that they can be 'heavy' when they want, the musicians let themselves go in 25 improvised minutes in Free Form Funkafide Filth. Such unleashed power could never be tamed and captured on tape in the studio simply because it can only be created in the freedom of an open-air stage.

About Speakers Corner
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Speakers Corner all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existant tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasise that Speakers Corner Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle. We have one digital recording in our catalogue (Alan Parsons / Eye In The Sky"), but even in this particular case we used the analogue tapes for cutting.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects - excluding the exception above - and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.1. Marbles

Hidden CityWhen Rolling Stone hailed THE CULT as "the Messianic moment of Coachella" in 2014, few knew that their next release would be unveiled in the form of HIDDEN CITY, their tenth studio album (and second for Cooking Vinyl).
The final instalment in a trilogy of recordings, completing 2007's Born Into This (The Fall) and 2012's Choice of Weapon (Dark Night of the Soul), Hidden City is a tightly-woven series of experience and visions with underlying themes of redemption and rebirth threaded through The Cult's visceral music. Astbury's signature baritone and blood-soaked lyrics paired with Duffy's smouldering, textured guitar tones, create a musical environment that is fearless and peerless.
From the sonic assault of the opening track Dark Energy, Hidden City launches quickly into the dark underbelly of its subject matter. Stemming from the Spanish phrase "La Ciudad Oculta" or "hidden city," the album reflects an awakening of consciousness through its tone and complexity. "Hidden City is a metaphor for our spiritual lives our intimate interior lives," explains Astbury. "I find today's gurus are trying to peddle some cure, product or insight as if it's a new phenomenon. My place is to respond, not react, to observe, participate and share through words and music. There is no higher authority than the heart."
Produced by Bob Rock and written by Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy the team has collaborated on what has turned out to be the brutal and beautiful masterpiece Hidden City.
The Cult have revealed in a storied career. From the iconic Love album bursting with idealism to the dystopia of 2001's Beyond Good & Evil to the current seductive Hidden City, the band lives their art. A new chapter dawns for The Cult as the future unfolds The Cult will respond. It's what they do.

Downfall Of Mankind
Brazilian all-female thrash commando unit Nervosa is synonymous with raw aggression and untamed power - a massive punch right in the face both live and immortalized on two records so far! For their third album Downfall of Mankind, the trio joined forces with producer Martin Furia who previously worked with Destruction, Flotsam & Jetsam and Evil Invaders and also toured with Nervosa as a sound engineer. The result perfectly captures the live energy and the old school character that defines the band without neglecting the strengths of a modern, compact soundscape. Riff-fests like 'Vultures' and 'Kill the silence' grab the listener by the throat and succeed with straight-ahead stomp and economical arrangements - it comes as no surprise genre legends such as João Gordo (Ratos de Porão), Rodrigo Oliveira (Korzus) and Michael Gilbert (Flotsam & Jetsam) were thrilled to be studio guests! Cradle of Filth's second official release, following The Principle of Evil Made Flesh. Despite the circumstances in which it was written and recorded, it was well received by critics and a handful of its tracks are staples of the band's live sets to this day. V Empire sees a step up in production from the band's debut and introduces the fast, highly technical instrumentation that would be the hallmark of the bands next few releases. The overall delivery is faster, more brutal and symphonic than the more streamlined Principle. It includes a re-recorded version of The Forest Whispers My Name. and includes songs written by both the 'Principle' line up and the new recording line up. This is where the band's lyrics began to manifest more as gothic poetry, fusing the band's brief satanic elements with depictions of macabre romance and vampirism that would encompass their later lyrical themes.SIDE A

Welcome Back, My Friends, To The Show That Never Ends - Ladies And GentlemenWelcome Back My Friends, To The Show That Never Ends - Ladies and Gentlemen is a 1974 live album by progressive rock band Emerson, Lake & Palmer. This was the last ELP release for almost three years while the band took an extended break to recover and pursue some solo projects that eventually ended up on their next release Works Volume 1 in 1977.
The album was recorded during the 1973/1974 Someone Get Me a Ladder world tour. The title of the album comes from the introduction to the performance, itself a paraphrase of the opening line of the song Karn Evil 9: First Impression, Part 2. A hard-hitting, multifaceted, female-fronted
metal outfit from Los Angeles, California,
Otep got their start in late 2000, when singer/band
namesake Otep Shamaya brought her Marilyn Manson-meets-Kim Gordon style of
singing to a crew of musicians known only as Rob, Moke, and eViL j. The foursome
began gigging around Los Angeles and scored a deal with Capitol solely on the
strength of their live show (they'd not yet recorded a demo), releasing the Jihad EP the
following year. Rumors of cannibalism and dabbling in the mystical arts helped add to
their mysterious image, and they found themselves receiving nods of approval from the
likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Marilyn Manson himself for their antics.
In 2004 the group released its sophomore effort, House of Secrets, which introduced
elements of funk, hip-hop, and ambient into the group's melting pot of metal. Working
with producer Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Mudvayne), Otep followed up three years
later with Ascension and supported it on spring 2007 dates with Static-X.
In 2016 the band released their seventh studio album "Generation Doom" and continue

II: Void WorshipWizards and warriors, rejoice, for the chosen one has returned! The Misery Wizard lives!
Since the early 2012 unveiling of their debut sonic behemoth MISERY WIZARD, fans and critics alike have patiently yet anxiously awaited the second chapter in the ongoing legacy of the almighty PILGRIM, a three-piece doom metal band from Rhode Island, USA.
Their first release shook the doom metal underground to its core, making a loud, in your face effort to bring doom metal back to its most minimalist and archaic roots, restoring it to its former glory. Their critical success, paired with their controversial interviews and emotionally draining live performances have lead PILGRIM to excellence, traversing the globe performing sold-out shows in multiple countries and playing festivals alongside some of the biggest names in their genre. Two years later, the fabled outfit has returned with a brand new record, the highly anticipated next installment of their aural adventure PILGRIM II: VOID WORSHIP.
PILGRIM returns more powerful than ever, wielding eight new epic tracks laden with tales of sword and sorcery, death, doom and destruction. Recorded at Moonlight Mile Recording by audio mastermind Mike Moebius, II: VOID WORSHIP delivers an absolutely unrivaled quality of tone and heaviness that many critics felt their original effort MISERY WIZARD had lacked. The band takes a new approach to their song writing, replacing meditated, repetitive hypnosis-inducing dirges with more calculated and demented powerhouse riffs. They build, shape, and climb into frenzied climaxes and fade into sweet sonic releases, molding perfectly crafted rock songs into twisting spires of evil doom metal masterpieces. It is obvious that PILGRIM has matured, both musically and as individuals, in their past two years of global conquest.1. Intro

[A Place to Bury Strangers] sculpts something unexpectedly elegant out of the type of din you'd expect to
hear on an airport tarmac - SPIN MAGAZINE
Hypnotic and forward-looking, A Place to Bury Strangers sound more vital than ever"- ALLMUSIC
A real sonic adventure that never relinquishes its grip on structure, despite the fact that the guitar effects
pedals are practically stomped into the floor- POPMATTERS
That's the most intense fear and feeling-when you go to a show and you're actually scared, says Oliver
Ackermann, guitarist and frontman of Brooklyn trio A Place To Bury Strangers.
Or you can palpably feel the danger in the music, adds bassit Dion Lunadon, Like it's going to fall apart
at any moment and the players doing it are so in the moment they don't give a shit about anything else.
They're just going for it. It's a gutter kinda vibe; everything about it is icky and evil and dangerous.
The same could be said the band's fourth album, Transfixiation. Rather than fixate on the minute details
like they may have done in the past, the group, rounded out by drummer Robi Gonzalez, trust their
instincts and try to keep things as pure as possible. Music is much more exhilarating when it's
unpredictable even on repeat plays, and this is very much an unpredictable record. Gonzalez makes his
recording debut with the band here, and it's obvious that he's helped pushed the band's recordings closer
to the level of their infamous live shows.
The one thing we have in common is this fire when we're playing, adds Gonzalez. I don't know; it's real

And Hell Will Follow MeIncludes CD
A Pale Horse Named Death is the brainchild of Brooklyn, NY native Sal Abruscato, and sounds like Alice in Chains mysteriously sneaking up behind Type O Negative with a butcher knife while being filmed for a future episode of Law & Order. Sals partner in crime on And Hell Will Follow Me is Matt Brown, sound engineer extraordinaire and guitarist of fellow NY band Seventh Void.
The chemistry between me and Matt is unique and flawless, very rare in todays music. We are the murdering evil version of Lennon and McCartney. says Abruscato. Brown adds, Sal asked me if I would help to take these songs to the next level. I took on this project for my friend, to find some closure in rough times. The music is just an extension of our friendship and our passion for creativity.
The album artwork was done by Sam Shearon aka Mr. Sam, who has previously done work for Rob Zombie, Fear Factory and Cradle of Filth to name a few, and features a 20 page booklet with artwork for each individual song. Additionally, the Double LP version will feature a never before heard bonus track called Pick Up Truck.
To top that all off, Life of Agonys Keith Caputo lent background vocals to four tracks and Lou Reeds saxophonist Ulrich Krieger guests on Die Alone. Bobby Hambel from Biohazard, who also plays with the band live, played the guitar leads on three tunes.1. And Hell Will Follow Me
