Live From Austin'
Live In EuropeIn early 2009, James McMurtry traveled overseas for his first European tour. The guys played for enthusiastic crowds in Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, The Netherlands, Scotland, and Belgium. Joining McMurtrys band on keyboards for the tour was the legendary Ian McLagan (who also played on McMurtrys latest studio album, JustUs Kids). McMurtry combined the best recordings from the Amsterdam and Geislingen concerts to create Live in Europe.
The deluxe vinyl version includes inserted copies of the CD and a bonus DVD. Fellow Austin-based songwriter, Jon Dee Graham, opened the shows on the tour and joins the band on a version of his tune, Laredo, on the bonus DVD.
James McMurtry packs a lot of story into his low-key songs: tales of loners and losers adrift in wideopen spaces. His voice is deadpan, but his characters survive grand struggles. The New York Times1. Bayou Tortue

Austin City Limits 1995Available here on vinyl for the first time, this superb 1995 performance is testimony to the fact that whatever turmoil the Allmans were going through - and, boy, did this band go through their fair share, and then some - they would never let their performances suffer. In November 1995, The Allman Brothers Band were the headline act for an episode of Austin City Limits, the long running Public Television live music show. Performing an hour long set, largely made up of oldies and classics, they also played - as opener - one of their finest late period songs, the magnificent 'Sailin' Across The Devil's Sea' from the album Where It All Begins.LP 1

So You Wannabe An OutlawSo You Wannabe an Outlaw, Earle's first album for Warner Bros. Records since 1997's El Corazón, explores his country songwriting roots and features collaborations with Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush, and Miranda Lambert.
"There's nothing 'retro' about this record," Earle says. "I'm just acknowledging where I'm coming from." So You Wannabe an Outlaw is the first recording he has made in Austin, TX. Earle has lived in New York City for the past decade. "Look, I'm always gonna be a Texan, no matter what I do," he says. "And I'm always going to be somebody who learned their craft in Nashville. It's who I am."
So You Wannabe an Outlaw is an homage to outlaw music and is dedicated to the late Waylon Jennings. "I was out to unapologetically 'channel' Waylon as best as I could," Earle says. "This record was all about me playing' on the back pick-up of a '66 Fender Telecaster on an entire record for the first time in my life. The vocal part of it is a little different. I certainly don't sound like Waylon Jennings. I moved to Nashville in November of 1974, and right after that Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger came out. I was around when Waylon was recording Dreaming My Dreams. Guitar Town (Earle's 1986 chart-topping, Grammy Award-winning debut album) wound up being kind of my version of those types of songs," Earle recalls.
Earle is backed on So You Wannabe an Outlaw by his long-time band The Dukes - guitarist Chris Masterson, fiddle player Eleanor Whitmore, bassist Kelly Looney, and new members drummer Brad Pemberton and pedal steel player Ricky Ray Jackson. The album was produced by Richard Bennett and recorded at Arlyn Studios in Austin.LP 1

Live From Austin, TX (Dwight Yoakam)Twenty-something Dwight Yoakam was literally the new kid in country music when he stepped onto the Austin City Limits stage in October 1988. But even then, as he has ever since, he was doing things his own way. Dwight was born in a small Kentucky town and grew up listening to mountain and bluegrass music, and unlike most of the mainstream country-pop crooners of the eighties, he almost single-handedly revived the rockabilly / honky tonk / hillbilly sound that was one of the cornerstones of country music's formative years. Early on he discovered the fabled Bakersfield sound of the 60s and adopted it as his own, in the tradition of country legends Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. Buck, in fact, became his hero and friend. When Dwight was playing a fair in Bakersfield, he stopped by Buck's office and coaxed him into playing a few songs with him on stage that night. The result was a lasting friendship and their historic duet, Streets Of Bakersfield. Much like his heroes, Dwight has been true to his roots and breaking new ground for almost 20 years.

With his astonishingly accomplished guitar playing, Stevie Ray Vaughan ignited the blues revival of the '80s. Vaughan drew equally from bluesmen like Albert King, Otis Rush and Hubert Sumlin and rock 'n' roll players like Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack, as well as the stray jazz guitarist like Kenny Burrell, developing a uniquely eclectic and fiery style that sounded like no other guitarist, regardless of genre.
Before the Montreaux Jazz Festival, before Bowie's Let's Dance album, before Texas Flood, before the Grammys, before the cocaine and alcohol abuse, before the redemption of sobriety, before the joyful In Step and Family Style ..... before August 27, 1990..... before the all-star tributes, before The Legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan......
There was an unknown, hardworking 24-year-old gunslinger named Little Stevie Vaughan, learning his craft the hard way in the trenches of the Austin Texas clubs, trying his darndest to get out of the shadow of his famous older brother Jimmie.
It wouldn't be long.
Anyone lucky enough to have been in the audience at this early live show, on April Fools Day in 1980, could have told you that. Young Stevie Vaughan (he had yet to become Stevie Ray) blasted the hometown crowd with a style that was already very well-formed. With Chris Layton on drums and bassist Jackie Newhouse (Tommy Shannon would join up a year later), his basic sound was already in place, albeit still in need of some polishing.
Taken from the surviving two-track master, Vaughan's guitar is raw and in your face every note of the way. His takes on Freddie King's In the Open and the lengthy Tin Pan Alley are the real highlights here.
As we did with our vaunted box set reissues, Texas Hurricane, again Analogue Productions is bringing you the finest-sounding Stevie Ray Vaughan collections ever preserved on 200-gram vinyl. Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound cut the lacquers for the LPs using the ultimate VMS 80 cutting lathe. Gary Salstrom handled the plating and the vinyl was pressed of course at Quality Record Pressings.
There's not a link in this chain that wasn't absolute first-rate. The absolute best that money can buy. We're passionate about the blues AND Stevie Ray and the passion shows up here in spades.

Live From Austin, TX (Steve Earle)This show, his first appearance on Austin City Limits, captures the excitement and free spirit of that first seminal album, Guitar Town, which was nothing less than a collection of personal odysseys. He was certainly a musical renegade from day one, and that's one thing about him that hasn't changed. This performance displays the vintage Steve Earle sound that paved the way for a new generation of country rockers willing to buck the Nashville system.

Live From Austin, TX (David Byrne)David Byrne is a modern renaissance man - and that's not just a clichÉ. From the heady days as co-founder of the celebrated art new wave group Talking Heads (1976-88) through his own constantly evolving and innovative solo music career, he has pursued his muse on many different artistic fronts. He's been the driving force behind a body of work that has been both intellectually daring and commercially successful...and he shows no signs of slowing down decades later. This show, captured on November 28, 2001, came on the heels of his hit single, "Like Humans Do" and the release of the album Look Into The Eyeball, which was another typically eclectic musical stew reflecting a variety of styles and influences, from Philly soul to a D.C. Go-Go inspired groove and his first-ever Spanish composition, "Desconocido Soy." Critics at the time called it his best work in years, and his performance on the Austin City Limits stage shows why. Joined by Austin's own eclectic tango ensemble Tosca, Byrne takes us down many different musical roads in his ACL debut. Of course, besides the brilliant songwriter and performer that he is, he's also an accomplished performance artist, photographer, web journalist, film writer/director, composer of motion picture soundtracks, and founder of his own world music label, Luaka Bop Records. He also has a collection of Grammys, Oscars and Golden Globes on his mantel. His music may be complex and poetic, but he makes no bones about his ultimate intent: "I want to move people to dance and cry at the same time.

StiffThree years on from their critically acclaimed "barbeque" record Corsicana Lemonade, White Denim are back with more than just a new album to commemorate. Their sixth record, Stiff - out 25 March 2016 via Downtown/Sony Red - is a return to the Austin quartet's frenetic rock band roots, and is both a jubilant thrill ride and joyous celebration of their past ten years. Heading into the studio with an external producer to oversee a whole album for the first time - and even writing a tune with Cass McCombs ('Thank You') - the band teamed up with the legendary Ethan Johns (Paul McCartney, Laura Marling, The Staves) to produce their first truly live record, one teeming with a cool '70s undertow, tumultuous riffs and a feverish energy that's resulted in arguably some of their biggest and brawniest songs to date.
With drummer Joshua Block and guitarist Austin Jenkins now pursuing other production ventures, vocalist/guitarist James Petralli and bassist Steve Terebecki spent a long time reassessing exactly what White Denim meant to them. "The big thing for Steve and I was trying to define what made us want to keep going," Petralli explains of the album's early days. "What's our partnership about? What's cool about this? We learnt a lot making D and Corsicana Lemonade. We wanted to take some of those lessons and apply it back to our original mission statement. We were trying to get back to some of the things that made us excited about the band in the first place."
Opener 'Had 2 Know (Personal)' is the embodiment of that mission statement. Described by Petralli as "a reassertion of our initial intent to make songs that satisfy our urge to play fast", it sets the tone brilliantly for the bulk of Stiff, right from its idiosyncratic, Red Krayola-sampling beginning to its huge, golden era chorus. While it remains distinctively White Denim, there's a reinvigoration permeating through its riffs via new guitarist Jonathan Horne and a beefed-up rhythm section thanks to the work of new drummer Jeffrey Olson. Every single high octane turn - from the tremendously fun 'Ha Ha Ha Ha (Yeah)' to the outrageously shredding 'Holda You (I'm Psycho)' - sounds like a band re-energised and revitalised, resulting in what Petralli describes as a "high heat, high energy, good times record". Having previously sold out Shepherd's Bush Empire and having toured with Tame Impala and Arctic Monkeys, Stiff is full to the brim with songs that sound ready to now lift White Denim to similar heights.
For the most part, Stiff is an album crammed with adrenaline-fuelled sing-alongs that show off the band's staple technical abilities. But it's also one that sees some new shades that they've developed along the way, too. Citing new wave and the razor-sharp pop punk of Buzzcocks as influences this time round, there's an addictive Elvis Costello circa This Year's Model quality to 'Real Deal Momma', a tune that highlights the band's love for hummable synthesisers and curious, affecting oddities. Then there's the cow bell calm and backing vocals laden brilliance of 'I'm The One (Big Big Fun)', that along with 'Take It Easy (Ever After Lasting Love)' (a song Petralli says "wants to be on a collection of doo wop songs written in 2016") shows a softer and more intricate side to the band while fully emphasising Petralli's vocal excellence.
Of the artwork - which was created by collagist Eugenia Loli - was inspired and worked from the band's previous album covers and videos as a visual template. Ultimately, it's a fleeting visit to a place the band have been before, with the covers of Workout Holiday and D being collages too. Stiff was even originally stylised 'Stif', which when spelt backwards spells out the title of their second full-length Fits. Then there's 'Mirrored In Reverse', a nod to the Fits track 'Mirrored And Reverse'. "I mean, we're ten!" Petralli says in disbelief while explaining all of the record's throwbacks. "We did think about naming this record Ten and referencing the Pearl Jam cover!"
Recorded with nothing but equipment that Petralli describes as being "past a certain point in the '70s", he explains that Stiff is an album made "entirely the old way". "It was tracked live to 16-track tape with very little overdubs," he says. "It was very hardcore record making - traditional in every aspect." Recorded with Ethan Johns in Asheville, North Carolina over a twenty-day period, Petralli and the band had an intense but deeply educational time with Johns. "It was really cool. The guy had these stories that were just unbelievable. He started talking about playing with Jimmy Page when he was a kid, and he lived in the studio where The Rolling Stones and The Faces would just hang out. Having Ethan in the room pushing us really made it more of an 'in the moment' and a visual thing. Capturing live performances is what he does really well."
To make things even more celebratory, there was an extra ten day stint spent with go-to White Denim man Jim Vollentine, who Petralli describes as "my guy, man". He continues: "we've made a lot of records together now. When we left the studio in Asheville with Ethan, we thought we gotta work on this record some more, you know? Though it was really just mixing, which we did with respect to Ethan's arrangements and his recording. I feel like I really haven't made anything like this before."
Ultimately, Stiff is the sound of a band finding their feet again and having the time of their lives. It's a record that refuses to buckle under the pressures of life, instead offering up a soundtrack to sing, dance, shout and scream along to. As a White Denim album, it's a joyride through the past ten years of the band's idiosyncratic catalogue while simultaneously pushing things further forward into new territories. "It's similar to our first record [Workout Holiday] in that we found the initial energy and just went with that," Petralli says of the initial studio spark that started it all. "We thought, what's the fundamental thing that made us want to get into a van and quit our terrible jobs and start this whole thing in the first place? And it was loud, fast-playing, rock and roll."1. Had 2 Know (Personal)

Eric Johnson: Live From Austin, TexasFasten your seatbelts for an extraordinary ride
with guitar hero Eric Johnson. This is the performance that fellow
guitarists, wannabes and fans have been waiting and dying for since this
show first aired in 1989. And for good reason: Johnson's playing has a
way of connecting to fans of every guitar style while still eliciting raves
from the likes of Carlos Santana, Johnny Winter, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray
Vaughan and even country music legend Chet Atkins. His inspirations are
the "3J's:" Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Reed, and Jeff Beck, but his style ranges
wide and free throughout the entirety of guitar history while still infusing
fresh ideas of his own.
A long-time Austin mainstay, he took up guitar
at age eleven and had his first professional group at fifteen. In 1974, he
defied the musical mainstream by forming Austin's first jazz/rock fusion
band, the Electromagnets, and he's been making guitar history ever since.
"Guitar genius" is an easy phrase to throw around, but when it comes to
blending fires and finesse, Eric Johnson has it all.

ADAD-NEW-1517xGuided By Voices
Guided By Voices: Live From Austin, TXTwenty-plus years...two dozen albums...
twice that many bandmates...the mad genius that is Robert Pollard finally decided it
was time to bring down the curtain on one of indie rock's most innovative and, well,
outrageous live bands. Certainly nobody could accuse Guided By Voices of being too
tame, too mainstream, too predictable. Ever since Pollard created the "gang" in Ohio
in the early 1980's with the help of his brother Jimmy and Pete Jamison (with the
help of a loan to pay for the first few records), "lo-fi" may be the best descriptor for
their brand of bursting, raw, no-holds-barred shout-out songs.
The end came in 2004, after the release of their final, critically acclaimed Half
Smiles of the Decomposed, and this Austin City Limits recorded on November 9, 2004
was one of their last performances. "I love the guys in the band, but I'm getting too
old to be a gang leader," Pollard said, who's now focusing on his solo work.
And what a finale it was. Much of it couldn't, wouldn't ever be broadcast on
television - public or otherwise - but it's all here for GBV fans to savor forever. Pollard
was in rare form, with buckets of beer literally and liberally decorating the stage. He
always said he wanted to end the band's decades of music on a high note. And this is it!

Live From Austin, TX (Buck Owens)Maybe it was an epiphany of sorts. As Buck tells it, One day I was watching Austin City Limits and Dwight Yoakam was on, then he dedicates the program to 'Buck Owens.' So I said, I'm going to see what this kid is like. It wasn't long after that he was on stage with Dwight singing his old hits. Buck was bitten by the bug to return to music, after calling it quits almost ten years earlier. This man from Sherman, Texas - probably best-known as the wide-grinning rube on Hee Haw for so many years - started a country music revolution. Or more accurately, a counter-revolution. It was called The Bakersfield Sound. He and fellow revolutionary Merle Haggard were cranking out raw, hard-driving honky-tonk music that stood the country-pop coming out of Nashville on its head. When Buck Owens and the Buckaroos would launch into I've got a tiger by the tail, it's plain to see....! the packed crowds would be on their feet and headed for the dance floor. Along the way Buck inspired none other than The Beatles to record their first country song, his classic Act Naturally, and the master of soul, Ray Charles, to immortalize one of the best-known country songs ever, Crying Time. Buck always loved his home state, and once flew to Austin on his private jet to make a surprise visit to a club that celebrated a Buck Owens Birthday night every year. He was also one of the few artists to ever write a handwritten note thanking us for inviting him on the show. Many thanks, he wrote, it is very representative of what I am all about. In my mind, Buck Owens will always be a rock star.

Live From Austin, TX (Fats Domino)In my humble opinion, this is the definitive Fats Domino performance ever captured on camera. First of all, like his hero Louis Armstrong a generation earlier, Fats is synonymous with New Orleans. Not to mention the early days of rock-and-roll. Who doesn't love the infectious lyrics and floating melodies of "Blueberry Hill," "Ain't That A Shame," "I'm Walkin'," "I'm In Love Again" or "Blue Monday?" Music was practically a birthright for Antoine Domino, Jr., one of nine kids from a poor family. He never made it past 4th grade, but he was already playing boogie-woogie piano. By the time he cut his first record at 21, he already stood out from the crowd with his baby face smile, rollicking beat and that magic voice - youthful, warm and rich. Despite all the hits, his records don't do justice to the incredible excitement and energy of his live shows, driven by one of New Orleans' preeminent bandleaders and Fats' mentor, Dave Bartholomew. Fats is notoriously shy, but I pursued him to Las Vegas in my quest to lure him to the ACL stage. I found him in the old Elvis suite at The Flamingo, where he sat in his bathrobe peeling fresh Louisiana shrimp. I don't remember what I said or he said, but it worked - a few weeks later he came to Austin. When Hurricane Katrina hit, Fats had to be rescued from his home, sharing the trauma and devastation with his old neighbors in the Lower Ninth Ward. But don't worry - careers fade and styles change, but the music of Fats Domino is timeless.

ADAD-NEW-6315xJerry Lee Lewis
Live From Austin, TX (Jerry Lee Lewis)"Rock and Roll's the thing and Jerry Lee's the King " or so said an English fan once upon a time somewhere. Elvis fans might dispute that title, but nobody else in the history of popular music would dare call himself "The Killer." Of all the legends who came out of Sun Records in the 1950s - Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison - no one would have bet the last one standing would be the pill-popping, whiskey-guzzling, gun-waving hellion from Ferriday, LA except The Killer, of course. Jerry Lee Lewis took black rhythm & blues, white gospel, and other funky Mississippi sounds and turned them into rock and roll. But Jerry Lee's life also is, and has always been, his piano; he has kicked and banged and set on fire (literally) many of them over the course of six-plus decades. He almost never made it to Austin City Limits. He canceled one appearance and, only weeks before this recording on October 17, 1983, his wife died in a freak swimming pool accident at their home. But he did make it, and what we have here is one of the most amazing performances ever to go down on the ACL stage. Throughout the day he was a perfect gentleman, showing up on time and acting very graciously to one and all, but once he hit the stage, all hell broke loose. The songs speak for themselves; they're ALL here. For many years later, Jerry Lee would carry a tape of this show to play for friends (and himself, many times). When I tried to book him again for a return performance, the response was, "Jerry Lee doesn't think he could possibly do a better show."

That's why pundits often find the music hard to classify. Which is a good thing. Her voice has been described as lush, torchy, melancholic - even scary (someone once wrote that "she sings like Patsy Cline's ghost"). She certainly doesn't sound like anything else on today's hit parade. Neko began her career as a drummer in a punk band, but it wasn't long before she started experimenting with songwriting and singing. She also continues to perform as a member of The New Pornographers, but her solo work is where her songwriting skills shine most. As she herself says, "I want to write songs that are timeless...maybe just something more like a novel than a short story." After the show, Neko took the time to write the ACL staff to thank everybody for making her, her band and friends feel so welcome. "I feel very proud of how the show turned out...It's so great to find out that something you admire so much is run by good people. Be proud! You kick ass!" You, too, Neko

Widespread Panic: Live From Austin, TexasIf you're among the legions of
Widespread Panic fans, you already know
that the band is legendary for never playing the same show twice -
or the same song the same way twice. What makes this performance
that much more special is the inspiring presence of founding member
Michael Houser (whose nickname "Panic" inspired the band's name),
who died of pancreatic cancer less than two years later. As much
as anything, this is a celebration of Houser's life and the sheer joy
he brought to a band that became one of the biggest draws on the
international concert circuit and created a vibe that makes the Panic
experience unique in the pop rock world.
But anybody who knows anything about them knows that
Widespread Panic is so much more than just a jam-happy rock band.
From the time Houser and John Bell ("JB") began playing duets around
Athens, Georgia, in the early 80's, their repertoire ranged from early
covers of the Grateful Dead and Bob Marley to a host of original songs
(among them "Space Wrangler", included here) that demonstrate, as
The Village Voice wrote, "a willingness to dip their collective toe into
just about any genre." This is classic Widespread Panic, including David
Schools on bass, John Hermann on keys, Todd Nance on drums and
Domingo Ortiz on percussion.
One look at this show and it'll quickly become obvious there
was something strange going on in the house that night. Yes, it was
Halloween, 2000, and the rabid fans went beyond even their usual
hard-core delirium. This was one time the audience almost threatened
to steal the show!

Live AliveLive Alive, originally released in 1986, is an essential Blues double album compiled from four live performances by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. The performances were recorded in 1985 at the Montreux Jazz Festival (July 16), the Austin Opera House (July 17 + 18) and at Dallas Starfest (July 19). The amazing live record is filled with gems from SRV's first three albums, plus a great rendition of Willie The Wimp featuring his brother Jimmy (who also makes a guest appearance on Love Struck Baby, Look At Little Sister and Change It).
The track listing for Live Alive displays several of Stevie Ray Vaughan's biggest influences: Jimi Hendrix (Voodoo Child (Slight Return)), Stevie Wonder (Superstition), Howlin' Wolf (Commit A Crime) and Buddy Guy (Mary Had a Little Lamb).LP1

Gary Clark Jr. LiveThe anticipated first live release from Guitar sensation Gary Clark Jr.
To sum up Gary Clark Jr. is more challenging every day. He's a musical universe unto himself, expanding at a nearly immeasurable rate, ever more hard to define - as a mind-blowing guitarist, a dazzling songwriter and engagingly soulful singer. With his debut album Blak And Blu he has just become the first artist ever recognized by the Recording Academy with Grammy Award nominations in both the rock and R&B categories for the same album in the same year, winning the latter: Best Traditional R&B Performance" - "Please Come Home" (from the album Blak And Blu). Rolling Stone dubbed Clark "The King of the Summer Festivals" as he captivated audiences from Coachella to Glastonbury, Lollapalooza to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, from Metallica's Orion Festival to Jay-Z's Made in America, and of course his hometown Austin City Limits Festival, where he his band set a daytime attendance record.LP 1

Death SongThe Black Angels - Austin's psych rock masters - have confirmed details for their upcoming album, 'Death Song.,' the five-piece's first full-length release in four years.
Written and recorded in large part during the recent election cycle, the music on 'Death Song' serves as part protest, part emotional catharsis in a climate dominated by division, anxiety and unease. "Currency," a strong contender for the heaviest song the band has ever put to wax, meditates on the governing role the monetary system plays in our lives, while slow-building psychedelic earworm "Half Believing" questions the nature and confusing realities of devotion.
Recorded between Seattle and Austin, 'Death Song' features production from Phil Ek (Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes, The Shins). The 11-track collection offers a sharply honed elaboration on their signature sound - menacing fuzz guitar and cutting wordplay, steeped in a murky hallucinatory dream.
Since forming in Austin in 2004, The Black Angels have become standard-bearers for modern psych-rock, and the New York Times has said they "play psychedelic rock as if the 1960s never ended, and they are absolute masters of it".
The band has toured with Queens of the Stone Age, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Black Keys + more, and played festivals such as Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, Primavera, Harvest Fest, Coachella and Bonnaroo. Two of the band members co-founded Levitation Festival (formerly Austin Psych Fest) in 2008, which has since grown into one of the best-reviewed and expertly-curated festivals in the country.LP 1

Crawling Up The StairsFirst 1000 LPS On White Vinyl
Reverse Board Printing
Printed Inner Sleeve
Crawling Up The Stairs is the second LP from Austin, Texas' Pure X. Made up
of principal members Nate Grace, Jesse Jenkins and Austin Youngblood, they
stay true to the dense sound they explored on their last album, Pleasure, but add
twinkling atmospherics and a new clarity to their carefully cultivated,
emotionally heavy songs.
Where Pleasure was built on syrup-slow hooks and a weighty, sexy haze,
Crawling Up The Stairs is the sound of Pure X emerging from that humid
cocoon to stare all the screwed up parts of life directly in the face and embrace
them. When Grace's voice, cracked and worn, breaks through a fog of
downtempo drums and misty guitar on Someone Else, the pain that used to
be visible in his face when he was on stage is pushed to the forefront of their
sound, his voice growling and moaning with barely contained anger and
apocalyptic worry in anguished falsetto. Crawling isn't a record about escape,
it's about what you do after you've realized that escaping isn't an option and
you just have to face the world you live in head on.
Crawling Up The Stairs is an album born from emotional turmoil. For much of
2012, Grace was laid up with a serious leg injury. During the recording period,
he had no insurance, no money, and if he ever was going to walk again, he
needed to have surgery. Grace had no idea if he'd get the money together, and
was consumed with doubt, unable to sleep. After a cathartic but torturous night
of insomnia, heavy with world-worry and intermittent nightmares, Grace
emerged feeling exhausted and different. Not better or worse, but different.
Ready to heal. Crawling is the result of that. Track by track, Grace, Youngblood
and Jenkins-who shares vocal and songwriting duties-drag themselves
through a bad year.1 Crawling Up The Stairs

Performing live with nothing but a guitar and a homemade kickdrum built out of an old suitcase, Austin TX's "astonishing
one-man-show" (NPR Music) Shakey Graves has quickly risen from obscurity into the nation spotlight since the release of
his debut full-length LP "Roll The Bones." Nearly two years later, as word of his haunting lo-fi recordings and contrastingly explosive live show spreads, the self-released album continues to sell at a vigorous pace, consistently ranking near the top
of Bandcamp's digital best seller charts. The album was recently released as a limited edition LP, which sold out almost immediately. New listeners around the world continue to discover his music every day, often through a series of live performance videos on YouTube (collectively over 1.5 million views). His videos for Myspace and Cadillac's "One Two Watch"
documentary series have also gathered over 3 million views alone.1. This Is The Beginning

Includes Limited Edition Poster
In the past decade, there have been plenty of bands hawked as the one to save rock music and radio from the doldrums it's sat in for far too long. But few were agreed upon quite like Kings of Leon, whose Southern and blues influences, coupled with some alternative sensibilities and an arena-worthy sound, made them one of the hottest bands in the world of late. And this December, RCA is set to celebrate their path to "hottest band" status with The Early Vinyl, a lavish, seven-LP box set chronicling the first four years of their career.
Features remastered, double-vinyl editions of the band's first three albums, Youth and Young Manhood (2003), Aha Shake Heartbreak (2004) and Because of the Times (2007), as well as Rarely, a bonus LP of studio and live rarities, including four live performances making their debut on any format.
Housed in a beautiful, numbered lift-off box, the set also includes a 20-page book featuring liner notes by Austin Scaggs along with rare art and photos from the band's early years.LP 1
