    On A Storytellers Night

Deluxe 180 Gram Limited Edition Gatefold Red Vinyl

On a Storyteller's Night is the fifth studio album by British melodic rock band Magnum, released in 1985 on FM Records. The album is widely considered as Magnum's breakthrough album. This album features one of the Tony Clarkin's most thoughtful songs, "Les Mort Dansant" a simple song in that paints a picture of a man being executed by a firing squad. It is the way in which the song accomplishes this, with some very colorful and imaginative metaphors. Magnum had parted company with Jet Records in 1983, and Mark Stanway had departed to work with Phil Lynott's Grand Slam, and Kex Gorin had joined Robin George's band. In 1984 Keith Baker took over management, and the band recruited Drummer Jim Simpson and keyboard player Eddie George. Following a six-week tour of the UK, Tony Clarkin began writing new material. Mark Stanway would later return to the band, and the band recruited Kit Woolven, who has produced albums for Phil Lynott, David Gilmour and Thin Lizzy. The album was recorded at DEP International Studios, then known as The Abattoir Studios, home of UB40. Upon its release in May 1985, On a Storyteller's Night reached #24 in the UK charts and launched the band across Europe and is also notable for the stunning cover by fantasy illustrator Rodney Matthews. Two singles were released to promote the album, an alternate recording of "Just Like an Arrow" in March 1985 and "On a Storyteller's Night" in May 1985.

    Second Edition

The second album from John Lydon's post-Sex Pistols group is widely considered to be their magnum opus. Combining such diverse influences as krautrock, dub, post-punk, and the avant-garde, Second Edition is four sides of harsh and uncompromising, yet danceable, music. While not the immediate influence and sensation that Never Mind The Bullocks was, this record is certainly John Lydon's finest artistic achievement.

    Twelve Dreams Of Dr. Sardonicus

Spirit's 1970 classic Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus (produced by longtime Neil Young collaborator David Briggs) is widely acknowledged as the band's magnum opus. The fourth and final collaboration by the band's classic original lineup of Randy California, Jay Ferguson, Mark Andes, John Locke and Ed Cassidy, the 12-song set reflects the quintet's one-of-a-kind mix of talents and personalities. Spirit's unique musical vision is reflected in their trademark hit Nature's Way, which remains a staple of classic rock radio, along with such favorites as Prelude-Nothin' to Hide, Animal Zoo, Mr. Skin and Morning Will Come.

Out of print on vinyl for more than two decades, Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus has been meticulously restored to its original two-sided glory for this LP reissue, using Sundazed's usual exacting standards. The album is pressed on high-quality, high-definition vinyl, reproducing the album's distinctive original cover art.

    Interpol

The long-awaited fourth album from New Yorks Interpol finds them exploring dark musical landscapes of layered depth and intensity. In contrast to 2007s Our Love To Admire, this self-titled opus hangs together as an album, a set of very different songs that thematically connect. From the highly melodic Barricade and Lights through the snarling Memory Serves and the extraordinary triptych of connected tracks that close the album, Interpol have never made work so emotionally resonant and packed with crescendos before. Mixer Alan Moulder has brought the rhythm section back to the fore, anchoring a thicket of orchestral sound that brings to mind touchstones from black metal to 70s art rock, but always remains identifiably Interpol. Hypnotic, bizarre, always indelible, Interpol is the bands magnum opus.

    The Soft Bulletin

The Flaming Lips followed-up their interactive 1997 extravaganza Zaireeka in typical unforeseen fashion by releasing their 1999 magnum opus The Soft Bulletin, the most emotionally accessible and musically grandiose statement of the band's career. Wayne Coyne's plaintive and spiritual explorations on the human experience are brought to life as never before here by a symphonic multidimensional sound that is as beautiful as it is transcendent. Featuring ethereal and poignant classics like Race For The Prize, Waitin' For A Superman, Suddenly Everything Has Changed and Feeling Yourself Disintegrate among others, The Soft Bulletin proved to be that elusive artistic breakthrough from a band that looked destined to be eternally restless. Not only is The Soft Bulletin a high water mark for The Flaming Lips on multiple levels, it's arguably one of the best recordings of the decade plus.

    Pom Pom

Across its 17 tracks and 69 minutes, pom pom is unfiltered Ariel Pink,
featuring infectious tales of romance, murder, frog princes and Jell-O.
The record sees the Los Angeles native strike it out alone, returning to
the solo moniker he has adopted for well over a decade.

From demented kiddie tune collaborations with the legendary Kim Fowley (songs such as 'Jell-O' and 'Plastic Raincoats In The Pig Parade' were
written with Fowley in his hospital room during his recent battle with
cancer), to beatific, windswept pop ('Put Your Number In My Phone',
'Dayzed Inn Daydreams'), scuzz-punk face-melters ('Goth Bomb', 'Negativ Ed'), and carnival dub psychedelia ('Dinosaur Carebears'), pom pom
could very well be Ariel Pink's magnum opus.

Speaking about the record, Ariel says that "although this is the first
"solo" record credited to my name, it is by far the least "solo" record I
    have ever recorded."

Two legends, together again. Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake and Half Japanese's Jad Fair have teamed up to bring you their new magnum opus, "Yes". Encompassing all the songwriting eccentricities that have made
these guys famous, this new collaborative album also features some of the most genteel, engagingly catchy, and downright adorable music in recent memory.

Norman Blake and Jad Fair originally collaborated over a decade ago on the Teenage Fanclub and Jad Fair album "Words of Wisdom and Hope" (Domino/Alternative Tentacles). Unlike the simple, aggressive style of
Half Japanese, the 13 new tracks on "Yes" feature refined, guitar-laden power-pop and saccharin-sweet melodies, accompanied by backup singers and layered horn arrangements. Fair's characteristically-manic vocal style is still present, but when coupled with the head-bopping, articulately-layered arrangements of Norman Blake, the result is a potently earnest album that is brimming with positivity.

Recorded at The Pass Studios in Los Angeles with producer Greg Fidelman, Snakes for the Divine is High on Fire's magnum opus, capturing every nuance of the legendary bands ongoing musical progression and evolution into one of heavy musics all time greats. Sharper, faster and darker than anything the group has ever recorded, Snakes for the Divine is an unrelenting tour de force, showcasing cult guitar hero Matt Pikes utterly unique and inventive musicianship and the bands epic, thundering sound.

Premium production by Fidelman the man who produced Slayers World Painted Blood and is mixing the upcoming Metallica live album boosts High on Fires strength and power while blackened lyrical tales of ancient wars, frozen planets, and doomed societies emerge from Pikes bellowing barks and throaty war cries. From the moment the leviathan-like title track explodes to kick off the album, it is immediately evident that High on Fire is determined to push modern heavy metal into new and uncharted realms.

    Vanishing Point

Vanishing Point is the fifth album from Primal Sream, originally released in 1997 and named after and inspired by the 1971 Richard C. Sarafian cult film of the same title. The songs were meant to be an alternative soundtrack to that movie and as lead singer Bobby Gillespie explained, the music in the film is hippy music and it's always been a favourite of the band, we love the air of paranoia and speed-freak righteousness: pure underground cinema, rammed with claustrophobia.

Vanishing Point was Primal Scream's first album to feature bass player Gary 'Mani' Mounfield (formerly of The Stone Roses) while guests include Augustus Pablo, Glen Matlock and The Memphis Horns. The band draws inspiration from dub and Can, ambient music, Motörhead and The Stooges here to create a dark mix of drum and bass, dance, and rock close to their magnum opus Screamadelica. The album fully displays how successfully an act can reinvent itself yet stay true to what it is best at.

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes

Features a Double Quartet: One Band in Each Stereo Channel with Two Simultaneously Playing Rhythm Sections

Features Don Cherry, Scott LaFaro, Eric Dolphy, Charlie Haden, Freddie Hubbard Among Other Musicians

Modern improvisational jazz starts here. With one quartet placed in the left stereo channel and another situated in the right, Free Jazz unloads with two simultaneously playing rhythm sections and a 37-minute-plus title cut devised entirely on the spot.

Distinctive from the copycat attempts that followed, this 1960 magnum opus claims melody and harmony, solidifying Ornette Coleman's reputation as a compositional genius. Of course, the presence of Don Cherry, Scott LaFaro, Billy Higgins in the left channel and Coleman, Freddie Hubbard, Charlie Haden, and Ed Blackwell in the right doesn't hurt.

Mastered from the original master tapes, ORG Music's analog edition has turned this classic into an audiophile spectacular. Due to the presentation of the recording in two distinct stereo channels, this album supremely benefits from the label's mastering efforts and decision to expand the music into wider grooves. Prepare for a mind-blowing experience.

Norwegian Grammy-nominated cult band return with their magnum opus. Extols self titled album is a like a complex metallic alloy. The playfulness of the songs and the brutal bonding of genres are transformed into a fusion of atmospheric and harmonic prog rock, merged with the tempered thrash and death metal that Extol so uniquely master.

This album leads us straight to the core of Extol. Drummer David Husvik comments: ""Extol" is the album that was planned all the way, but never materialized. Partly due to changes in the line up, but also because of the band´s urge to always reach for something new.

The album is the recap of 20 years of Extolhistory, both musically and lyrically." With a long awaited creative collaboration with Jens Bogren (Opeth, Paradise Lost, Enslaved) and some truly magnificent artwork by Travis Smith (Katatonia, Opeth, Death), Extol has managed to create a timeless masterpiece and the vision of the band seems clearer than ever.

For the past 30 years, Lucinda Williams has channeled her perspective as a proud but vulnerable Southern female into a string of stellar albums, each of which weave Rock, Country, Folk and Blues so tightly that each of the elements seems to disappear. Lucinda Williams (1988) was her breakthrough disc, but her magnum opus, 1998's Car Wheels On A Gravel Road, sealed her reputation as a formidable singer-songwriter.

It took three torturous years to finish this alt-country masterwork, but it was worth it. Williams writes songs that explore the rootlessness of American life, with vivid imagery and gravel-guitar beauty. The album features guest appearances by Steve Earl, Emmylou Harris and Buddy Miller. Williams co-produced the album and it was mixed by Rick Rubin & Jim Scott except Metal Firecracker, which was mixed by Ray Kennedy.

The album won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album, and was Lucinda Williams' first album to go Gold. It was voted Best Album of the Year in the Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics poll. In 2003, the album was ranked number 304 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

    Texas

In a year when overproduced rock-fluff flooded radio
waves, Texas-Sudden's 1986 solo debut for Creation-
blasted through the saccharin for a damaged and masterful
invocation at the imperfect alters of Chilton and Bolan,
sonic influences the Brit bore proudly on his velvet sleeve
throughout the course of his polarizing prolificacy. As the
increasingly splintered Rolling Stones cultivated "Harlem
Shuffle" cover cheese, the former Jacobite leader looked
to the ragged Exile On Main St. and Sticky Fingers roots
of his icons for a raw, 12-song predication melding tender
jangle and staggering swagger. Widely considered Sudden's
solo magnum opus, Texas is an exquisite mÉlange of the
    off-kilter sub-terrestrial songwriter.

In founding Swell Maps, the post-punk prefacing
Birmingham art-snots, Nikki Sudden and his drumming
brother Epic Soundtracks charted new territory for racket
and corrosive guitar. But after folding Swell Maps at the
dawn of the '80s, Nikki Sudden plowed through another
decade's worth of terrifically fertile ground. Drawing on
his devotion to the Rolling Stones and T. Rex-alongside
guitarist Dave Kusworth as Jacobites, plus a cheekily named
cohort of British sidemen-Nikki Sudden cut a string of
raw, inspired rock 'n' roll records, etched with double-edged travel melancholia and hard-bitten punk dejection.

For their third full-length for Sacred Bones, Cult of Youth have delved deeper

on bass and Christian Kount on electric guitar (both of whom were members
of seminal Sacred Bones band The Hunt). Cory Flannigan on drums and Paige
Flash on cello complete the five-piece. The end result is Cult of Youth as they
    were always meant to sound.

The contributions of the new members are evident on every track on Final Days,
from the anthemic "Empty Faction" to the gorgeous album closer "Roses." Final
Days is the culmination of everything Cult of Youth has been moving towards the
    past seven years - post-industrial, post-punk, and post-enlightenment.

Addendum: Real human bones were used on this recording and a portion of the
    lyrics were written in jail.

    Goldfinger Statement Cartridge

For the first time in a cartridge, the MC Goldfinger Statement features twelve magnets, perfectly matched and symmetrical enabling the system to reach a dynamic range of 100 decibels. For the Clearaudio engineering team this represents the fulfillment of an audiophile dream that seemed long unattainable.

This cartridge deserves to play the best recordings of all time. In order to 'feed' the moving coil (MC) Goldfinger Statement with adequate music material, Clearaudio founded a music production department specialized in audiophile recordings of all genres.

The MC Goldfinger Statement is also the first cartridge with integrated RF shielding. The outstanding sound quality of this world-class cartridge is the stunning result of meticulously detailed development and fine-tuning of all of the important criteria. The breakthrough came with the use of a 30 per cent thinner 24-carat gold wire for the coils, a precision-milled gold mounting for the magnet array and a body made of solid 14-carat gold - essential core components for the ultimate cartridge masterpiece. The world famous Micro HD diamond stylus provides the best detail retrieval of all time. A flawless diamond on its facia beautifully adorns the MC Goldfinger Statement.

Peter Suchy calls this miracle of a cartridge 'our magnum opus'.

Long before groups like Oasis and Blur provoked cross-Atlantic media hype, Catherine Wheel were evolving the Britpop style that typifies the genre's distinction. With the release of Chrome in 1993, they advanced their dreamy pop to the rock sound.

It's not like Catherine Wheel established their sound with Chrome, either. Ferment was considered their supposed magnum opus, with the extremely successful lead-single Black Metallic. Chrome is more appropriately described as a perfection of their established sound, as the band's metallic shoegaze is refined in terms of both intensity and melodic-content. Every element that made Ferment so memorable and enjoyable is amplified in this release. Rob Dickenson sings with perfect tenor appeal on tracks like Kill Rhythm and Crank, highlighting the personal temperaments which shape the album.

There are quite a few album covers out there that flawlessly encapsulate the atmosphere and/or mood of the music contained. Chrome has one of those covers. It's design came from the collective Hipgnosis, who gained international prestige for the cover of Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd.

Sit back, listen and experience this album. You might feel emotions you didn't even know you had.

    1755

Dark Metal's finest art project MOONSPELL outclasses all standards with their colossal new release 1755. The twelfth record from these Portuguese gothic masters is an orchestral adventure including siren like choirs with a Wagnerian pomp! Strings, bongos, Oriental singing, grand guitars are just a tiny part of this amazing piece of work. From the first superincumbent second, the conceptual dramaturgy of MOONSPELL's work feels like a detonation of the mind. Playful and mean-spirited. 1755 is their magnum opus.

This musical masterpiece represents the year of horror where a giant earthquake wrecked their home of Lisbon. Naturally, this album is sung completely in Portuguese. The album features Paulo Bragança, supplying a hauntingly voice of a Fado fallen angel who is a big part of the Portuguese culture. His fascinating vocals are featured in In Tremor Dei (Eng.: Fear Of God). 1755 is an adventure in medieval landscapes full of threats, guarded by stirring hymns including the bad luck Desastre. Choirs filled with fear stab into the wild disharmony of the guitars. The album is emotionally, technically and completely breathtaking!

I can feel you creep into my private life

Tune-Yards' magnum opus will arrive in the form of new album I can feel you creep into my private life. Thematically, the 12 new songs tackle race, politics, intersectional feminism and environmental prophecies head on. But in the billows of intense subject matter, the album arrives as Tune-Yards' most immediate and upbeat music yet- this is Tune-Yards' music to dance to.

On I can feel you creep into my private life, Tune-Yards is officially a duo. Garbus is joined by longtime collaborator Nate Brenner who produced and wrote the album together with lyrics by Garbus. Tune-Yards worked with mixer Mikaelin "Blue" BlueSpruce (Solange, Kendrick Lamar). Tune-Yards' 2014 release Nikki Nack was one of the most well-received albums of the year. New York Magazine called it "possibly the catchiest record of the year," the New Yorker praised its "joyful energy" and "surprisingly sweet singing and catchy tunes," and Entertainment Weekly said, "life needs joyful noise like this."

Since the release of Nikki Nack, Tune-Yards has kept busy collaborating with legendary musicians David Byrne, Laurie Anderson and Yoko Ono, as well as penning the standout track, "Action," from Mavis Staples' 2016 album.

    Prevail II

Kobra Paige and her motley crew kept their word and now they deliver the second part of their
opus magnum one year after the release of Prevail I! Prevail II is the proverbial yang to the yin and
continues right where Kobra And The Lotus left off in 2017. The opener 'Losing My Humanity' is
an exemplary melodic feast of both guitar and vocal craftsmanship that anchors the Canadian
five-piece firmly in between hard rock and heavy metal with a modern touch and the occasional
classic rock! The catchy 'Let Me Love You' is another brick to this massive wall of sound, but
a solemn intermezzo-like 'Ribe' and the elegiac 'White Water' attest to their musical virtuosity
lending taste to the vulnerable and emotional side of the band. Kobra And The Lotus know
perfectly well what it takes to cater to the needs of hard rock and metal fans in 2018 without
losing touch with the essential roots (just check out 'Modern Day Hero')! " It was an immensely
challenging experience but it pushed and pulled the best out of us", comments leading lady
Kobra. Who could argue with her on that one?
