    Easy

Easy was the final duet album for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Its hits included the Top 10 R&B charters "Good Lovin' Ain't Easy To Come By" and "What You Gave Me," while "The Onion Song," only a mild U.S. hit, became a smash in the U.K.

Its B-Side, a cover of "California Soul," was popular as well. When Tammi unfortunately died a few months after the album's release, Easy became a testament to her artistry and the everlasting work she did with Marvin Gaye.

Featuring ''Sexual Healing'', ''What's Going' On'' And ''Ain't No Mountain High Enough''

Motown released the first Marvin Gaye record in 1961 ''(I'm Afraid) The Masquerade Is Over'', a single intended for (radio) promotion from the singer's debut album. This was followed up by the officially released ''Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide'' a week later. Gaye scored his first real hit with ''Stubborn Kind of Fellow'' in 1962, which he had co-written himself, joking about his alleged stubbornness. The foundations were now laid for an enormous series of chart successes: ''Pride And Joy'', ''Can I Get A Witness'', ''How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)'' and ''Ain't That Peculiar'' are all Motown classics from 1963-1965 which are still being regularly played today after all these years.

The duets he recorded with Kim Weston (''It Takes Two'') and especially Tammi Terrell were certainly at least as good.

He scored his biggest ever hit with ''I Heard It Through The Grapevine'' in 1968. The ''What's Going On'' from the same named album became a number 1 hit in the USA and the album was received as a masterpiece everywhere and is now regarded as one of the most important records in pop history. In 1973, the artistically and commercially very successful, Let's Get It On album was mainly a musical ode to Marvin's love for his new muse Janis Hunter. The success enjoyed by ''Sexual Healing'' and the album which was released at the end of 1982, traveled with him. Suddenly Gaye, who had started to increasingly be forgotten about, was a celebrated star again and this was certainly a position the singer reveled in.

The pop world lost one of the most important soul singers ever to grace the world on 1st April 1984. He has left behind a series of fantastic hits plus a big handful of tracks which deserve the title of masterpiece, all COLLECTED on this album.

    United (Discontinued)

The first of three duet albums to feature Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell (followed by Youre All I Need in 1968 and Easy a year later), United was released in August of 1967 on Motowns Tamla label. The album includes their most famous duet, Aint No Mountain High Enough as well as the hits Your Precious Love and If I Could Build My Whole Life Around You. The Light Of The Sun

    Includes Bonus Track

Executive produced by Jill Scott and J.R Hutson (Pharell, Faith Evans), The Light Of The Sun features appearances by rappers Paul Wall, Doug E. Fresh, and Eve and traverses the rocky terrain of love, longing and loss.

The first single, So in Love, is a duet with Anthony Hamilton. When Scott first heard the track, a soul-filled melody that evokes the legendary pairing of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, she was moved to tears.

This music came about in a very organic way, says Scott reflecting on the free-style jam sessions that resulted in the creation of The Light Of the Sun, which drops in June of 2011. I've enjoyed the recording process more that I ever have before.

    The Classic

I'm in the best place I've ever been in my life, declares Joan Wasser, and she's just recorded the album that proves it. The Classic, the fourth album of originals by the uniquely charismatic artist known as Joan As Police Woman, builds on the creative impetus and success of its 2011 predecessor The Deep Field, on which Joan strove to create music rooted in an intimate, elemental and uplifting brand of soul combined with her own unique serene, torch-singing temperament, with a more liberated feel than ever before. The result is a perfect reflection of her efforts to address - and solve - personal issues and so reject the singer-songwriter's traditional melancholic disposition for an unashamed lust for life. As graffiti in the artwork of her 2006 debut album Real Life read: Evolve and Be Brave.

The Classic is named after one of its ten tracks. Part is to do with the way we recorded mostly live; the way records used to get made, she explains. But I wrote 'The Classic' itself as a classic girl-group doo wop song, and the lyric refers to classic old songs like Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell 'You're All I Need To Get By', Stevie Wonder's ' Joy Inside My Tears' and Danny & The Juniors' 'Rock'n'Roll Is Here To Stay'. And at the end, I spell out the name of the song, like Aretha Franklin did with 'R-E-S-P-E-C-T'! The song begins 'I am home in your arms' and it's solely joyful, expressing jubilation. Melancholy is still part of my life, but it's no longer leeching energy from my life.
