Meet The Beatles'
KissKiss' 1974 self-titled debut is one of hard rock's all-time classic studio recordings. Kiss is chock full of their best and most renowned compositions, containing elements of Rolling Stones/New York Dolls party-hearty rock & roll, Beatles tunefulness, and Sabbath/Zep heavy metal, and wisely recorded primal and raw by producers Richie Wise and Kenny Kerner (of Gladys Knight fame). Main songwriters Stanley and Simmons each had a knack for coming up with killer melodies and riffs, as evidenced by Nothin' to Lose and Deuce (by Simmons), Firehouse and Black Diamond (by Stanley), as well as Strutter and 100,000 Years (collaborations by the two). Also included is the Ace Frehley alcohol anthem Cold Gin, Let Me Know (a song that Stanley played for Simmons upon their very first meeting, then titled Sunday Driver), and one of Kiss' few instrumentals: the groovy Love Theme from Kiss (penned by the entire band). The only weak track is a tacky cover of the 1959 Bobby Rydell hit Kissin' Time, which was added to subsequent pressings of the album to tie in with a Kissing Contest promotion the band was involved in at the time. Along with 1976's Destroyer, Kiss' self-titled debut is their finest studio album, and has only improved over the years.

Beach Boys Party! (Mono)Stereo Mixes Produced By Mark Linett And Alan Boyd / Mixed By Mark Linett
33 1/3 RPM Mono Mixes Created Under Brian Wilson's Supervision
Audio Production - Mark Linett
For Brother Records - Elliott Lott
Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio, Most From The Original Master Tapes Or Best Sources Available
Lacquer Plating By Gary Salstrom And 200-gram Vinyl Pressing By Quality Record Pressings!
To meet the standards of Analogue Productions, our Beach Boys album reissues had a mission to achieve: Present the band's music the way that Brian Wilson - famed co-founder, songwriter and arranger - intended. Mono mixes created under Wilson's supervision were how the surf rockin' California crew rose to fame! And we've got 'em!
For the early part of the Beach Boys career, all of their singles were mixed and mastered and released only in the mono format - they didn't release a single in stereo until 1968. In those days, hits were made on AM radio in mono. And the mono of those times worked well for Wilson, who suffers from partial deafness. Still, apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master.
We've taken 10 of the most classic, best-sounding Beach Boy titles ever and restored them to their mono glory! But there's no disputing that the close harmonies and one-of-a-kind rhythms of hits like "Surfer Girl," "In My Room," "Little Deuce Coupe" and more lend themseleves naturally to stereo. So we've got your 2-channel needs covered with prime stereo mix versions as well.
Mastered by Kevin Gray, most from the original master tapes, and plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings, the finest LP pressing facility in the world, these are awesome recordings to experience. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in old school Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time honored favorites shine brighter than the originals!
Capitol Records, which had already released ten Beach Boys albums in three years, was bugging the group for product that it could release in time for the 1965 Christmas season. To buy time while Brian Wilson began conceiving the Pet Sounds masterpiece, the group issued a set of covers, mostly of the '50s rock and R&B they had listened to as schoolboys. Packaged as if it had been recorded at an actual party, it was in fact recorded in the studio, with friends and romantic partners adding sounds and vocals to create an informal atmosphere. With the exception of a bass guitar, all the instruments were acoustic; the acoustic guitar-and-bongo arrangements, in fact, give this a hootenanny campfire feel. In recent years, this album has gone up a few notches in critical esteem, praised for its loose, casual feel and insight into the group's influences. ... It does have the massive hit 'Barbara Ann,' which actually features Dean Torrence (of Jan & Dean) on much of the lead vocals; other highlights include 'Mountain of Love,' an unexpected version of 'The Times They Are a-Changin',' and three Beatles covers. - AllMusic.com

The Chirping CricketsThe debut album by the Crickets and the only one featuring Buddy Holly released during his lifetime, The Chirping Crickets contains the group's number one single That'll Be the Day and its Top Ten hit Oh, Boy!. Other Crickets classics include Not Fade Away, Maybe Baby, and I'm Looking for Someone to Love. The rest of the 12 tracks are not up to the standard set by those five, but those five are among the best rock & roll songs of the 1950s or ever, making this one of the most significant album debuts in rock & roll history, ranking with Elvis Presley and Meet the Beatles.

Get The Knack
One of the Most Instantly Successful and Highest-Selling Debut Albums in History: The Knack's Attitudinal Get the Knack Loaded With Power Pop, Catchy Hooks, Keen Melodies, and My Sharona
Mastered from the Original Master Tapes, Pressed at RTI, and Strictly Limited to 3000 Numbered Copies: Mobile Fidelity 180g LP of Get the Knack Teems with Abundant Energy
Most everyone knows The Knack's Get the Knack because of the ubiquitous smash My Sharona, a contagious hit that still plays countless times everyday on radio stations nationwide. But the appeal and significance of the Los Angeles quartet's 1979 debut extend far beyond the career-making single. Loaded with tight power pop, hummable hooks, blunt lyrics, and precision playing, the controversy-igniting Get the Knack resonates with an ageless freshness that's influenced everyone from Kurt Cobain to modern indie artists such as the Mountain Goats.
Mastered from the original master tapes, pressed at RTI, and strictly limited to 3000 numbered copies, Mobile Fidelity's 180g LP of Get the Knack brings the record's urgent harmonies, keen melodies, bell-clear tones, and snapping percussion out of the shadows and into the limelight. Graced with large-scale frequency extension and ample separation, the Knack's feisty music now teems with added energy, body, and immediacy. Absent the dynamic compression that squelched previous reissues, this numbered limited-edition audiophile analog version blossoms with detail, openness, and brashness. A guilty pleasure to some and new-wave classic to many others, Get the Knack is so attitudinal it spawned one of the industry's most famous backlashes.
Released by Capitol Records after the Knack courted a dozen other offers, the 12-track set remains one of the most instantaneously successful debuts ever made. Aided by tongue-in-cheek marketing, a sly cover-art reference to the Beatles' Meet the Beatles, and Mack Truck-sized refrains that stick in your head for hours, Get the Knack went gold in days and, to date, has sold more than five million copies. The meteoric rise didn't sit well with detractors committed to ripping apart the band for its perceived arrogance (members refused to sit for interviews) and alleged misogynist stance. Needless to say, the boycotting campaigns fell on deaf ears.
Holding down the top of the singles chart for six weeks, and the eventual number-one single on the year-end 1979 chart, My Sharona alone cemented the Knack's position in history. Written by lead singer and guitarist Doug Fieger about his lust for the then-underage 17-year-old Sharona Alperin, who ultimately became his fiancÉe, the anthem's suggestive themes carry throughout the record. Straightforward in its sleaziness and sexuality, Get the Knack pulls no punches about teenage frustrations, boy-girl one-upsmanship, sticky sweet romance, and unrequited passions for the opposite sex.
Teasing, mischievous tracks such as (She's So) Selfish connect with Bo Diddley-inspired riffs and crude, hormonally charged lines that split the difference between manipulation, nastiness, and arousal. The Top 15 hit Good Girls Don't similarly confronts the pent-up carnal desires and libidinous emotions shared by youth of all generations, while That's What the Little Girls Do functions as a sly response. Your Number or Your Name dabbles in related subject matter, with sensitivity and hopefulness added for good measure. It's a perfect mix of agony and ecstasy, fear and confidence.
Shot-through with yearning, every song bursts forth with undeniable catchiness, firecracker release, and sassy style - an approach Rolling Stone rightly says finds the band [winding] itself tighter than a hot pair of disco jeans, then [doing] its best to hold to that energy until its time to explode.

Perfect From Now OnBuilt to Spill's three previous indie releases (on C/Z, Up, and K) established a new pop standard, born from lo-fi experimentation, carefully crafted hooks, plaintive vocals, and brilliant, snaky guitar lines. For their major label debut, Perfect from Now On, frontman Doug Martsch, who leads a revolving cast of musicians, has created his most ambitious album to date. Gone are the compact, simple ditties that characterized the band's recent recordings, replaced by the kind of longer epics that typified its C/Z debut, Ultimate Alternative Wavers. The songs--some clocking in at eight or nine minutes in length--combine the laidback intensity of Pink Floyd and Neil Young with a Beatles-meet-Pavement modern, pop aesthetic. It's at once dreamy, spooky, and spine-tingling and if there's any truly unexplored territory in rock music, you can be sure Built to Spill are in the vanguard.1. Randy Described Eternity

Summer In The City: Live In New YorkFirst Time Ever On Vinyl!
Remastered From New High-Res Master Files By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio
Double LP Set, Ultra-Quiet 180-Gram Vinyl Pressed At RTI
Beautiful ''Old-Style'' Gatefold Printed By Stoughton
Intervention Records is thrilled to bring Joe Jackson's Summer in the City Live in New York to vinyl for the very first time! Previously available only on CD, Summer in the City joins IR's wildly successful vinyl reissues of Jackson's early New Wave classics Look Sharp!, I'm the Man and Night and Day.
Summer in the City's repertoire is an amazing bridge that spans the greatest hits of Jackson's early canon with stunning new arrangements and covers from other great songwriters. Jackson classics like ''Fools in Love,'' ''You Can't Get What You Want'' and ''It's Different for Girls'' meet with covers as diverse as Duke Ellington's ''Mood Indigo,'' The Beatles' ''Eleanor Rigby'' and Steely Dan's ''King of the World.''
Summer in the City was mastered to vinyl by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from brand-new high-res master files. Summer in the City was recorded live in New York City in August of 1999 by Steve Remote and Co-Producer Sheldon Steiger. Sony's archivists and Battery Studios' Mike Piacentini compiled new high-res digital master files from the original DATs with the final mixes, and IR consulted with Remote and Steiger on key aspects of the recording to ensure the best possible source files were used. The result is an absolute sonic stunner, brought to new life on this double LP set!
Summer in the City's original album art has been rebuilt into a beautiful gatefold jacket by IR's art director Tom Vadakan.

Volume OneShe & Him is a story of musical serendipity: two artists, each renowned in their own creative fields, meet and recognize a certain shared nostalgia. The result is destined to be one of the musical highlights of the year.
Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward first met to record a version of Richard and Linda Thompson's When I Get To The Border for a movie soundtrack. Immediately struck by one another's talents and finding an instant rapport Zooey let slip that she wrote her own songs which she recorded alone at home on her computer. Somewhat shy about anyone hearing these musical morsels she eventually sent the demos to Ward who was instantly impressed. They soon reconvened at his Portland studio to begin work.
Embracing the warm sound of early analog recordings, Volume One is more than just a showcase for Zooey's rich and endearing voice; it's a distinctive and endlessly charming album. The songs themselves give a respectful nod to the likes of Dusty Springfield, Linda Ronstadt and The Zombies while Ward's production gives them just the right amount of golden era sheen. Whether Zooey's channeling Ronnie Spector as on I Was Made For You or joining Ward in turning The Beatles I Should Have Known Better into a seductive hula guitar duet, the results are always captivating.

Nobody KnowsThe last time I came across the Len Price 3 was in 2010 and this album give me about as much pleasure as that last one did - lots.
If you were to define a 'London' sound of the sixties then this is it. There are echoes of The Kinks and The Who as well as later London bands like Madness but they are a quintessentially original outfit and there is nothing here that sniffs of copying.
Their spare beat laden pop is wonderfully edgy, especially on the Farfisa laden 'Swing Like A Monkey' but the best of them is on tracks that echo the songs and the bands of the sixties, telling stories of grandparents and odd acquaintances. 'My Grandad Jim' - rocky garage punk telling a story of an old soldier seen through the eyes of a teenager. The gonzoid guitar break is worth the price of the album on its own. Or then there is 'Vultures' with its stomping Beatle-esque stomp and a very Kinks meets Small Faces sound: the horn break is magic.
They can do the sad stuff too on tracks like 'Lonely': wistful and with harmonies that they heard on the West Coast it would make a great single.
'Preying Mantis' is a stunning piece of garage punk, spare and harsh, the sound is pure beat era but the theme is as modern as tomorrow or as old as last week.
'Medway Sun' is a real gem. Bucolic and wistful, definitely should be the pick for a single and definitely a theme for a forgotten part of the country.
Final track 'The London Institute' has just about everything - redolent of youth and reminiscence and with a Who-like sound that sticks in the mind and takes you back to listen again and again.
Every track has an identity and seems to reference a different element of the sixties sound but every track is also a tiny gem of music that can be held up to the light and marvelled at in its own right.
The Len Price 3 are a truly fine band and deserve a greater audience - check them out and enjoy!

The Chirping Crickets contains the group's number one single That'll Be the Day and its Top Ten hit Oh, Boy!. Other Crickets classics include Not Fade Away, Maybe Baby, and I'm Looking for Someone to Love.
These are among the best rock 'n' roll songs of the 1950s or ever, making this one of the most significant album debuts in rock 'n' roll history - ranking with Elvis Presley and Meet the Beatles, writes AllMusic.
What has Analogue Productions done to kick this classic album up a notch? For starters, our version features stellar remastering by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. Followed by state-of-the-art plating and pressing on 200-gram heavyweight vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, maker of the world's finest-sounding LPs. Stoughton Printing provides a sturdy old-style tip-on jacket to round out the package.
Born Charles Hardin Holley on September 7, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas, Holly was nicknamed Buddy by his mother. She felt that his given name was too big for her little boy. Holly, the altered form of his last name, would later result from a misspelling in his first recording contract. Holly learned to play piano and fiddle at an early age, while his older brothers taught him the basics of guitar.
In early 1956, Holly and his band began recording demos and singles in Nashville under the name Buddy Holly and the Three Tunes, but the group's lineup was later revised and dubbed The Crickets. Holly wrote and recorded his breakthrough hit, That'll Be the Day, with The Crickets in 1957. The song's title and refrain are a reference to a line uttered by John Wayne in the 1956 film The Searchers. Between August 1957 and August 1958, Holly and the Crickets charted seven different Top 40 singles.
Composer and singer John Fogerty, of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame, inducted Buddy Holly into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame at the 1986 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. What Buddy Holly meant to him, Fogerty said, was destiny calling. Fogerty, 12, bought That'll Be The Day and soon began dreaming of forming his own combo, like the group of musicians - The Crickets - he saw on the album cover. And in Liverpool, England, the same thing was going on with four other guys. They named their group The Beatles, because Buddy Holly's group was called The Crickets.
We are, each of us, made up of the people we love and the people we admire, Fogerty, said. We take those reflections, and hopefully, grow.
Holly's talented life was cut short in a plane crash on Feb. 3, 1959, that also claimed the lives of Ritchie Valens and J.P. The Big Bopper Richardson. This album is a tribute to what was, and what might have been a lengthy pioneering musical career.
