Men In Black'
Let Them Fall In LoveThe best-selling and most-awarded female gospel artist of all time, CeCe Winans has long since cemented her status as one of the most accomplished and celebrated women in modern music history. It'd be easy to look back and rest on such illustrious laurels, but Winans has always had her eyes fixed firmly on the future, so it should come as little surprise that she jumped at the opportunity when her son, Alvin Love III, proposed she record the generation-bridging new album 'Let Them Fall In Love.' Her first in nearly a decade, the record finds Winans returning to the studio with gusto, working for roughly three years to craft her most confident, adventurous collection yet.
Recording and performing as both a solo artist and as a duo with her brother BeBe, CeCe has influenced a generation of gospel and secular vocalists over the course of her astonishing career. Her mantel today holds a staggering 10 GRAMMY Awards, 20 Dove Awards, and 7 Stellar Awards. She's been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Nashville Music City Walk of Fame, in addition to being named a Trailblazer of Soul by BMI and garnering multiple NAACP Image Awards, Soul Train Awards, Essence Awards, and more. She's sold in excess of 5 million albums in the US, topping the Gospel charts repeatedly while crossing over with smashes like "Count On Me," her stunning duet with Whitney Houston from the multi-platinum 'Waiting To Exhale' soundtrack, which sold 2 million copies and cracked the Top 10 on the Pop, R&B, and Adult Contemporary charts. She touched millions more with inspirational performances everywhere from Oprah to The White House, and even showed off her acting chops on television series like '7th Heaven' and 'Doc.'
While collaborating with family is nothing new for Winans, the recording sessions for 'Let Them Fall In Love" found the Detroit native working for the very first time with her son in the producer's chair.
"Alvin shared with me a vision that he had of a record that was bold and a little different than anything I'd ever done before," remembers Winans. "When I heard the songs he'd been writing, I got so excited. He has great ears and great style and a unique way of writing and thinking things through. It made it extra special that two generations of family were able to come together on this record."
Bringing together generations is Winans' specialty, and she drew inspiration for the album from her extensive work with the young men and women who attend the church she and her husband founded in Nashville.
"It's really important to me to share where I've been and to encourage young people to understand that they can go even further," reflects Winans. "I wanted to make an album that ties us together, something that young people would be able to learn from and be inspired by."
Written primarily by Alvin and co-produced by Alvin along with Winans' long-time collaborator Tommy Sims (Garth Brooks, Michael McDonald, Bonnie Raitt), 'Let Them Fall In Love' was mixed by Dae Bennett (Tony Bennett, Amy Whinehouse, Olivia Newton John) and Jimmy Douglass (Pharrell Williams, Micheal Buble). The album, recorded both in Nashville and New York City, finds Winans more confident than ever before, merging eras and genres in a glorious blend of past and present that simultaneously recalls the heyday of Motown and still sounds undeniably modern. Big band horns meet strings from the Nashville String Machine as Winans' soaring voice hits new heights, fueled in part by the encouragement and motivation of her son.
"Alvin was hard on me in the studio," remembers Winans. "He'd really work me during the songs, and I knew that was a good thing because it meant he was pressing me to get the best performances possible. Now I listen back and I know he was right. It was so important to get the right interpretation of each song."
Winans is able to inhabit each song on the record so fully in part because she's lived their stories. She describes album opener "He's Never Failed Me Yet" as "my personal testimony," "Run To Him" as her frequent act of refuge, and "Marvelous" as a musical embodiment of the black church. On "Hey Devil!," she's joined by fellow gospel powerhouses The Clark Sisters for a playful rebuke of temptation, while "Peace From God" is a prayer for light in an increasingly dark world, and "Lowly" is a lesson about pride and humility aimed at the young men who might need it most. Winans' eclectic ability shines through on the pedal steel country waltz of "Why Me," a song she discovered when she was invited to perform it live with its writer, Kris Kristofferson.
"I ended up getting sick and I couldn't perform it with him at the show, but my son heard it and knew it would be perfect for the album," explains Winans. "It's so different for me in this whole new field of country music, but it spoke to my heart and I felt like it was written just for me."
On the album's other cover, "Dancing in The Spirit," Winans is joined by Hezekiah Walker and his choir for a jubilant celebration, while "Never Have To Be Alone" finds her taking a far more somber approach, singing to the young members of her congregation. It's the album's closer and title track, though, that seems to light Winans up more than any other.
"That was the first song for this album and I knew right away that I wanted the record to be named 'Let Them Fall In Love,'" she explains. "I told my son that it had to be the heartbeat of the album. There's a lot of different styles and a lot of strong messages on there, but all of them are to bring us to this point. It's why I came back and recorded another album, to express my heart and my desire that people young and old can listen and fall in love with the higher power, fall in love with love, and fall in love with faith and joy and peace."1. Black Rhythm HappeningThis, the second Blue Note album by Eddie Gale, was released in 1969 and includes jazz heavy weight Elvin Jones on drums and sax man Jimmy Lyons. This is a blend of soul jazz, free form freak outs and a gospel-influenced street choir, and it's suggested listening for fans of Sun Ra & Brother Ah, John Coltrane's late '60s LPs, and Ornette Coleman and Albert Ayler's more groove-oriented recordings. U-MenThis 3xLP Box Set Collects The Entire Studio-Recorded Output Of The U-Men
Plus 5 Unreleased Songs
With 16 Pages Of Photos, Liner Notes & Interviews With The Band
Executive Produced By Jack Endino
The U-Men are one of the best bands I've ever seen. They were
hypnotic, frenetic, powerful and compelling. It was impossible to
resist getting sucked into their weird, darkly absurd world. They
effortlessly blended The Sonics, Link Wray, Pere Ubu, and
Captain Beefheart. Their shows were loose-limbed, drunken
dance parties and no two shows were alike. The U-Men were
avant-garage explorers and, most importantly, they fucking
rocked. I was lucky enough to live in their hometown and I saw
them every chance I could.
From 1983 to 1987, the U-Men were the undisputed kings of
the Seattle Underground. No one else came close. They ruled a
bleak backwater landscape populated by maybe 200 people.
They were the only band that could unify the disparate
sub-subcultures and get all 200 of those people to fill a room.
Anglophilic, dress-dark Goths; neo-psych MDA acolytes; skate
punks who shit in bathtubs at parties; Mod vigilantes who
tormented the homeless with pellet guns; college kids who
thought college kids were lame; Industrial Artistes; some random
guy with a moustache; and eccentrics who insisted that they
couldn't be pigeonholed: all coalesced around the U-Men.
Sub Pop co-founder, Bruce Pavitt released the first record by the
U-Men, a 4-song 12" EP on Bombshelter Records. By the time
they had recorded songs for another record, Bruce was too broke
to release it on his proto-Sub Pop label, so he hooked them up
with Gerard Cosloy at Homestead Records. This was a big deal.
Homestead had a heavy rep at the time with recent releases by
Foetus, Nick Cave, Sonic Youth, and Big Black. I was sure that
the release of their second 12", Stop Spinning, would propel the
U-Men into the ranks of those Homestead acts and the
worldwide underground would get hip to Seattle's finest.
Following the departure of bassist Jim Tillman (replaced by Tom
Hazelmyer of Amphetamine Reptile Records, and then Tony
Ransome), the band recorded two fantastic singles, and recorded
their one full-length album, Step on a Bug, for Black Label,
which was run out of Fallout Records. They became increasingly
disenchanted with the direction the Seattle underground was
heading and called it quits in 1989.
The U-Men had nothing to do with Grunge. They were their own
unique thing. I loved them and I still miss them. I remember
thinking at the time that most of their recordings were a little
soft and didn't capture the power of the band live. Now, thirty
years later, their records sound great to me and we are lucky that
they exist. I'm stoked that Sub Pop complied these long
out-of-print records and scrounged up some unreleased songs so
that everyone has a chance to take a trip back to old weird

Keyroles are played by James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto and Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw. The music was composed by Henry Jackman whose credits include The Da Vinci Code with Hans Zimmerman, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates Of The Caribbean: At Worlds End and recently the 2016 soundtrack for The 5th Wave. Upcoming soundtracks include Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, both scheduled for 2016/2017 release.

It eventually sold over a million copies in the United States alone. The album was reissued on Rhino Records in a deluxe edition in 1995.

Time Of The Last PersecutionOriginally released in 1976 this is Serge Gainbourg's second concept record, after the stone classic Histoire De Melody Nelson, and probably second only in quality to that record in his deep, storied catalog. Translating to The Man With The Cabbage Head, L' Homme A Tete De Chou is a brutal story of lust and obsession in which, over the course of the album, the narrator falls in love with a black shampoo girl (Marilou), beats her to death with a fire extinguisher and ends up in a psychiatric hospital. Featuring lush orchestration and a variety of influences, from reggae to rock to funk to country, L' Homme A Tete De Chou is a crucial part of the musical history of one of France's most famous, and certainly most controversial, stars.1. Open Your HeartIronically referred to by Timeout NY as Thurston Moore & the E Street Band, The Men have never been a band to play by categorical punk subgenre rules. Instead, over the last three years, this band has dabbled in everything from hardcore punk to psych to shoegaze to black metal; and they have done all of it effortlessly, and for the most part, flawlessly. While holed up in a house in upstate ny, The Men took full advantage of their rural surroundings, in-house studio, and lack of recording timelines and obligations. They tracked over twenty-five songs. On top of that they also managed to record five songs acoustically, while sitting around a campfire outside the house. Vinyl version comes with a 12-page photo book 11.5 × 11.5 insert featuring never before seen black & white photographs shot by their bassist/photographer Kevin Faulkner during the Big Indian sessions.
Campfire Songs is the band's second release this year, and their fifth in the past four years. To say this band is prolific is an understatement; they are teeming, borderline prodigal even. Two of these acoustic jams are alternate takes from the album, "I Saw Her Face" and "The Seeds". All Of The UnknownColored Vinyl
At first glance, The Drowning Men appear as an exercise in contradictions. With an abundance of tattoos, facial hair, and a sentiment that skews strongly toward the blue-collar dockworkers of their hometown of Oceanside, California, it seems easy to discern exactly what sort of music this band plays. And yet, upon first listen it immediately becomes clear that their appearances have indeed been deceiving as they yield to a gorgeous, roots and folk-flavored indie rock sound bursting with enchanting melodies and deeply poetic lyrics.
With the release of their second full length, All Of The Unknown, via Flogging Molly's label, Borstal Beat Records, The Drowning Men are poised to bring the entire indie scene up for breath of air.
Formed in 2006 by long-time friends Nathan 'Nato' Bardeen (vocals/keyboards/guitar/mandolin), James Smith (guitar/vocals) and Rory Dolan (drums), the three quickly recruited Todd Eisenkerch (bass/vocals) and Gabriel Messer (keyboards/vocals) to round out the line-up. The right fit for us just happened. There was no math to it, explains Nato. James elaborates, Nato called me up one day in 2005 and said `do you want to play some music?', and we've never stopped. I feel like the music clicked from that first day, it's just evolved.
The band self-released their first EP, Kill The Matador, in 2007. In 2009, the band went into the studio with Pall Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession, Ugly Casanova) to record their first LP, The Beheading of the Songbird, which was self-released that year and then officially re-released by their current label, Borstal Beat Records in 2011 in preparation for the release of this, their second full-length, All Of The Unknown. OVSE-MOV-1073xTony Joe White
Tony Joe WhiteTony Joe White scored big with 1969's Polk Salad Annie from the album Black & White [MOVLP989] and he was having success as a songwriter too: Rainy Night In Georgia was a huge hit for Brook Benton in 1970.
His self-titled third album (1971) finds the Swamp Fox tempering his bluesy rockers with a handful of introspective, soul-dripping ballads and introducing horn and string arrangements for the first time. The addition of the Memphis Horns and other Muscle Shoals session men really worked well for the album. Many of the songs will remind the listener just how turbulent the cultural climate of the late '60s and early '70s was in the U.S. Songs like The Change, Black Panther Swamps and I Just Walked Away (the album's first single) are testament to the era.
The album was recorded over a two-week period in December 1970, in two different Memphis studios. Producing the album was none other than London-born Peter Asher, who had just produced James Taylor's early hits.1. They Caught The Devil And Put Him In Jail In Eudora, Arkansas

Deadpool Soundtrack180 Gram Red / Black Starburst Vinyl
Deadpool is the smash hit superhero film based on the popular Marvel comic book character by the same name. Starring Ryan Reynolds (Smokin' Aces, Safe House) as the titular protagonist, Deadpool follows irreverent mercenary Wade Wilson into Vancouver's seedy underbelly. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, Wade is subjected to sadistic experiments in an attempt to cure himself. The treatment hideously deforms him and leaves his mind unhinged. Enraged by betrayal, Wade adopts the moniker of Deadpool and begins hunting down the men responsible for his transformation.
Junkie XL (Mad Mad: Fury Road, Divergent) delivers a robust, pulsing score that is as energetic and relentless as Deadpool himself. It ties in seamlessly with the eclectic mix of songs featured prominently in the film, including tracks by DMX, Wham!, and Salt-N-Pepa. Following an incredible $150 million opening weekend, Milan Records is proud to announce the release of the Deadpool soundtrack on vinyl! Music Composed By Henry Mancini (The Pink Panther, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Peter Gunn, Charade)
If the recognition of one's peers is the true measure of success, then few men are as successful as composer, arranger, and conductor Henry Mancini. In a career that spanned 40 years, writing for film and television, Mancini won four Oscars and twenty Grammys, the all-time record for a pop artist. Plus he received a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.
Mancini's best-known works include the jazz-idiom theme to The Pink Panther film series (The Pink Panther Theme), his Moon River to Breakfast at Tiffany's, and the theme to the Peter Gunn television series. The Peter Gunn Theme won the first Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Mancini also had a long collaboration on film scores with the film director Blake Edwards.
Henry Mancini produced the score for the Howard Hawks-directed, John Wayne-starring safari comedy Hatari! which included the well-known Baby Elephant Walk. This is at first a fun blend of jazz and Afro-exotica, jungle drums mixed with a classic bop combo. Elsewhere, however, the soundtrack opts for some pleasant, but very Western jazz, only stopping for the African instrument-sampler The Sounds of Hatari, which features some nice treated piano.
The American Film Institute nominated the score from Hatari! as one of the greatest film scores of all time.1. Theme From "Hatari!"

HozierSelf-titled debut album from Irish artist Hozier.
Ahead of his forthcoming full-length, Hozier released a 4-track introductory EP, featuring his fast-rising track Take Me To Church in addition to Angel Of Small Death, which reflects the gospel-soul gumbo at the heart of his music, Arcadian acoustic adventure Like Real People Do, and Cherry Wine, a raw emotional discourse recorded live at 6am on an abandoned hotel rooftop. Hozier played all the instruments (Fiachra Kinder helped out on drums), sang all the parts and recorded in his home studio, and Rob Kirwan (Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey) mixed the tracks in Dublin.
Born in County Wicklow on St Patrick's Day, Hozier gained worldwide attention nearly overnight when he posted the video for his song Take Me To Church in late September. The gripping black and white video, directed by Brendan Canty, highlights the turbulent plight of the LGBT community in Russia via the story of two gay men targeted by a homophobic gang. The powerful video brings life to the emotional song, which touches on the influence of religion on humanity.
The Take Me To Church video has quickly racked up views on YouTube, reaching millions of views largely on word of mouth. The track has been a fixture on Spotify's Most Viral charts, regularly appearing in the Top 10 in the US and the UK since the end of last year, and Spotify also selected Hozier as one of their Spotlight Artists to Watch 2014. Take Me To Church also hit #1 on Hype Machine's Most Popular chart, and has also been hovering on the top of Ireland's singles chart, outselling acts like Lorde and One Direction week after week. Hozier has been playing to packed rooms in Ireland, and his first London show sold out in minutes, underscoring the phenomenon that has emerged in such a short time. UK tastemaker Zane Lowe has also just selected Hozier for his coveted Hottest Record spotlight.LP 1
