All Mitch Ryder Hits!As a very talented teenager playing in rock and soul bands across the Detroit area, future rock and roll legend Mitch Ryder was soon discovered by mega producer and label owner Bob Crewe (Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons). Having a knack for producing and writing many hit records, in 1966 Crewe recorded Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels in the studio and cut what many believe to be one of the first rock meets blue eyed soul albums with the Take A Ride, which of course featured their first chart topper Jenny Take A Ride. From this moment on, the Mitch Ryder persona was born, becoming a hero to many rock and roll fans throughout the world.
Mitch Ryders numerous appearances on national television shows, the concert circuit and continual airplay on all his records made him a fixture on the music charts. His next number of hit singles and albums truly impacted the way a lot of us listen to music to this day. The two and a half to three minute anthems like Devil With a Blue Dress On/Good Golly Miss Molly, Too Many Fish in the Sea/Three Little Fishes and the near riot pandemonium of Sock It to Me-Baby have all truly stood the test of time.
Noting all of the chart successes and sales of the Mitch Ryder name brand, the good folks at New Voice Records honored this famed artist with his own greatest hits album, the magnificent All Mitch Ryder Hits in 1968. This original album has been out of print for many years and for several decades in the vinyl format, that is until now.

The original plan for Cactus was to release a debut album with the super group line-up of Vanilla Fudge rhythm section bassist Tim Bogart and drummer Carmine Appice together with guitarist Jeff Beck and singer Rod Stewart, though Becks car accident en Stewart joining Ron Wood in The Faces counteracted that.
Eventually joining Bogart and Appice were guitarist Jim McCarthy (Mitch Ryder's Detroit Wheels) and singer Rusty Day form Ted Nugent's Amboy Dukes for this self-titled album that is arguably the highlight in their catalogue. The shredding turbocharged Boogie is a very fine example of how exciting early Seventies Hard Rock still can be!1. Parchman Farm

One Way or AnotherImport
One Way... Or Another was the second studio outing of supergroup Cactus. Existing of Vanilla Fudge rhythm section Carmine Appice (drums) and Tim Bogert (bass), as well as former Amboy Dukes lead vocalist Rusty Day (vocals/mouth harp), and Jim McCarty (guitar) from Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels and the Buddy Miles Express.
The album offers eight tracks of which are six originals and two covers. Kicking off with one from the latter column, it's the unexpected slow and heavy take on Little Richard's Long Tall Sally. The other cover, a version of Chuck Willis' Feel So Bad, is more than serviceable but it's really the originals that are the stars of this show. Highlights are including Rock N' Roll Children, Big Mama Boogie - Parts I & II, and the title track, which closes the album in suitably kick-ass fashion.
This album is well crafted and flows dramatically from one song to the other without a dull moment. Anyone with a liking for early 70's blues oriented rock will love this album.1. Long Tall Sally

The Cry Of LoveRemastered By Bernie Grundman From The Original Analog Masters
Originally released in 1971, and last issued on CD in 1992, The Cry Of Love was compiled and mixed by Hendrix's longtime engineer Eddie Kramer and Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell. The bulk of these tracks were recorded between December 1969 and the summer of 1970 at Electric Lady Studios in New York, and were intended to be part of an ambitious double LP tentatively titled First Rays of the New Rising Sun. Commercially, The Cry Of Love was a huge success, reaching #3 in the U.S. and #2 in the UK, and spawned favorites such as ''Angel,'' ''Freedom,'' and ''Ezy Ryder.'' While Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox comprised the rhythm section on the lion's share of the tracks, Buddy Miles played drums on ''Ezy Ryder'' and Noel Redding played bass on ''My Friend'' (recorded in 1968, before his departure from the Jimi Hendrix Experience). The Cry Of Love also includes the participation of notable guest musicians including Steve Winwood, Chris Wood and Buzzy Linhart among others.1. Freedom
