    Can You Deal?

    Pressed On White Vinyl

Los Angeles-based sister duo Jennifer and Jessie Clavin knew things were going to be different for their band Bleached's sophomore LP Welcome The Worms. Not only had they managed to charm world renowned producer Joe Chiccarelli (Morrissey, The Strokes, Elton John) to join them and their bassist Micayla Grace in the studio, but the sisters had been crawling out of their own personal dramas. While emotionally spinning, they dove head first into music.

In the studio, Chiccarelli and co-producer Carlos de la Garza (Paramore, YACHT) helped the band perfect their fervent songs into fearlessly big pop melodies. They drew inspiration from the iconic hits of everyone from Fleetwood Mac to Heart to Roy Ayers. The result is an ambitious rock record with a new found pop refinement that somehow still feels like the Shangri-Las on speed, driven forward in a wind of pot and petals, a wall of guitars in the back seat.

After touring extensively worldwide and finding success with their hit single Wednesday Night Melody Bleached is back with four new blazing tracks on their Can You Deal? EP. Fueled by the experiences they've had as women in their calling for music, Can You Deal? takes on the complexities of issues female musicians encounter in an industry dominated by men. With this fire in their bellies, they connected with Alex Newport (Bloc Party, Mars Volta) to produce the EP. With their singularly triumphant mix of sunny melodies, thrashing guitars and lyrics highlighting the darker sides of life, Bleached continues to demand your attention.

Bona Drag is a compilation album by Morrissey originally released October 1990. The album features an array of Morrissey's most popular songs from his early solo career, most of which had not been released on any previous album. The album name meaning nice outfit is an example of the subculture slang Polari explored further on the album's first track Piccadilly Palare.

    Vauxhall & I

    20th Anniversary Definitive Master

While it isn't a gutsy rock & roll record like Your Arsenal, Vauxhall and I is equally impressive. Filled with carefully constructed guitar pop gems, the album contains some of Morrissey's best material since the Smiths. Out of all of his solo albums, Vauxhall and I sounds the most like his former band, yet the textured, ringing guitar on this record is an extension of his past, not a replication of it. In fact, with songs like Now My Heart Is Full and Hold on to Your Friends, Morrissey sounds more comfortable and peaceful than he ever has. And The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I Get, Speedway, and Spring-Heeled Jim prove that he hasn't lost his vicious wit.

    - Stephen Thomas Erlewine (All Music Guide)

As the lead singer of the Smiths, arguably the most important indie band in Britain during the '80s, Morrissey's theatrical crooning and literate, poetic lyrics -- filled with romantic angst, social alienation, and cutting wit -- connected powerfully with a legion of similarly sensitive, disaffected youth. These fans turned the Smiths into stars in Britain, exerting tremendous pull over much of the country's guitar-based music for many years after their breakup, and even if the group remained underground cult artists in the States, they had a fan base that slowly, steadily grew larger over the years. Indeed, a few years after the Smiths' breakup in 1987, Morrissey's American cult had grown to the point where he became more popular in the U.S. than in his homeland, where he nevertheless was never far from the music press headlines. After a quiet period around the turn of the millennium, Morrissey launched a comeback in 2004 with You Are the Quarry, an album whose success proved that he remained one of the most beloved figures in alternative rock.

His fourth and finest solo album is, as the cover shot suggests, Morrisey's idea of hard rock. There's a gritty, glam feel to Mick Ronson's production (check the Ziggy Stardust cop on I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday), while the loud'n'rude riffs of new guitarist Boz Boorer banish memories of the Smiths. Best news: for once the songs focus on adult life, not the man's well-documented adolescence. --Jeff Bateman

The Smiths' eclectic 1985 release finds the band branching out into rockabilly, post-punk and flashes of funk, all while refining the guitar pop of their debut. Produced by Morrissey and Johnny Marr, Meat Is Murder is the band's sole studio album to reach #1 on the U.K. charts. The Headmaster Ritual and I Want the One I Can't Have are fine elaborations on the formula the band introduced on their debut, while Rusholme Ruffians is an infectious take on rockabilly. Ranked 216/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Widely considered to be both The Smiths' finest work and one of the greatest albums ever made, 'The Queen Is Dead' has cast a significant influence over subsequent generations since it was first released in the summer of 1986. Now Warner Bros. Records can confirms the details of a newly mastered and expanded version of the album.

The album features several of the band's finest moments including the title track and 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out', as well as the iconic singles 'The Boy With The Thorn In His Side' and 'Bigmouth Strikes Again'.

You cannot continue to record and simply hope that your audience will approve, or that average critics will approve, or that radio will approve, says Morrissey. You progress only when you wonder if an abnormally scientific genius would approve - and this is the leap The Smiths took with The Queen Is Dead.

Johnny Marr adds, The Queen Is Dead was epic to make and epic to live.

    One Step Beyond

One Step Beyond... is the 1979 debut album by the British ska group Madness. It was ranked 90th in a 2005 survey held by British television's Channel 4 to determine the 100 greatest albums of all time.

The album peaked at number 2 and remained in the UK Albums Chart for over a year.

It was the first album produced by the team of Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley, who would go on to work with artists such as Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Morrissey, Dexys Midnight Runners and They Might Be Giants, as well as producing all but one of Madness' subsequent albums.

The title track, released as a single, was originally written and recorded by the Jamaican ska musician Prince Buster. The spoken line, Don't watch that, watch this in the intro is from another Prince Buster song, The Scorcher.
It was their second single after The Prince which was a tribute song to this musician.

    Years Of Refusal

Years of Refusal is Morrissey's first studio album since 2006's U.K. #1 Ringleader of the Tormentors. The late Jerry Finn, who previously worked on 2004's critical and commercial smash You Are the Quarry, produced Years of Refusal which is the last album he worked on. Long time band members Boz Boorer, Jesse Tobias, Matt Walker, and Solomon Walker play on the album, which also features a contribution from Jeff Beck on the track Black Cloud.

Morrissey is often recognized as the most important British musician of his generation. The New York Times recently stated, Morrissey isn't just any singer: he has become one of the defining rock stars of the past few decades by virtue of his grand voice, his grander songs, and his charming habit of playing with melodrama. His influence is felt worldwide through the countless artists that cite him as their primary inspiration. Years of Refusal is a masterful work that finds Morrissey and the band at their best with a muscular sound and the inimitable voice and lyrics of a legend.

The critically acclaimed album generated three radio singles: Birdhouse In Your Soul, Istanbul (Not Constantinople), and Twisting. Other promotion for Flood included TV appearances, promotional videos and an international tour.

Over the past 20 years Tiger Army have made themselves a household name in the sub-culture and
punk rock communities. They've toured the world over countless times, sharing the stage with Morrissey,
AFI, Social Distortion and more. They've appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and have headlined many
punk rock / rockabilly festivals such as The Hootnanny. With four full-length albums, and three EPS
Tiger Army have sold over 430,000 albums to date.

It's been almost ten years since their last release, but Tiger Army are back and stronger than ever with
their heavily anticipated new album, V. The album was produced by Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem,
Flogging Molly, The Bouncing Souls) and includes 13 tracks that showcase the band doing what they do
best, fusing elements of punk, rock, and rockabilly. V is the album critics and fans have been hoping for.
Tiger Army is alive and well, and V proves that the band is still just getting started, even after 20 years.

    King Of The Waves

Its been nearly five years since Little Barrie has released new material, but King of the Waves definitively proves that its been absolutely worth the wait. Since 2007, the band has dedicated themselves to honing their musical reputations, doing everything from appearing live with Primal Scream to collaborations with the likes of Morrissey and Mark Ronson.

Guitarist/frontman Barrie Cadogan and bassist/vocalist Lewis Wharton are joined on the album by the new addition of drummer/vocalist Virgil Howe, son of renowned Yes guitarist Steve Howe. The resulting sound produced by the band is as intensely electrifying as one might expect from such a dynamic and in-demand group of individuals. It calls to mind an old school Detroit rock n roll showdown between Link Wray and The Creation, with the MC5 and Motowns best in attendance to cheer both sides, and the omnipresent threat of a killer wave lurking just overhead.

Longtime friend and collaborator Edwyn Collins co-produced the album with Little Barrie, and sings backing vocals on the track Money In Paper. Engineer Sebastian Lewsley also returns on King of the Waves, recorded at Collins West Heath Studios in north London. Available on 180g vinyl in gatefold jacket.

The Third Studio Album From Dot Hacker

    Mastered At Infrasonic Sound

Fronted By Josh Klinghoffer, Guitarist Of Red Hot Chili Peppers

Dot Hacker is the project of California-based musicians
Josh Klinghoffer, Clint Walsh, Eric Gardner, and Jonathan
Hischke. Collectively, the members have played with a
seemingly never-ending list of artists, including Gnarls
Barkley, Broken Bells, PJ Harvey, Morrissey, The Shins,
Beck, Hella, Tom Morello, and so many more. Most
notably, guitarist and lead singer Josh Klinghoffer plays
guitar in the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Their third studio effort, N°3, follows the band's 2014 two-part
album, How's Your Process?, and expands on the
"piercing hooks and transfixing arrangements" (Billboard)
that album had to offer. N°3 finds the band at their most
musically creative and adventurous, and for anyone
familiar with their past work, that says quite a lot.

    Paperback Ghosts

COMET GAIN return with their seventh album, following 2011's critically acclaimed "Howl of The Lonely Crowd". Recorded at Soup Studios with producer Simon Trought at the helm, and inspired by the psycho-geography of walks in North London woods and in the forgotten grey hinterland of the city's back streets, "Paperback Ghosts" comes soaked in autumn melancholy. Blending psychedelia, folk-rock, garage muscle and 4am sadness, the songs draw on the esoteric that lies behind the ordinary. Comet Gain are David Charlie Feck (vocals, guitar), Ben Phillipson (guitar), Rachel Evans (vocals), ex-Morrissey/The Meteors drummer Woodie Taylor (percussion), Anne Laure Guillain (keyboards) and new recruit, Clientele bassist James Hornsey - a motley group of like-minded romantics, taking pride in an abject failure to care about the normal band model.. On each album they record, Comet Gain bring together their myriad of influences, creating a cohesive aesthetic between sound, artwork, liner notes and ideas. Paperback Ghosts is no different, offering us a glimpse into a haunted half-world with its strings, yearning harmonies, 12-string acoustic guitars and half-focused vision of pianos in reverb, while remaining at heart a pop record, a richly textured affirmation of Comet Gain's twenty-year anti-career.

    Welcome To The Worms

Los Angeles-based sister duo Jennifer and Jessie Clavin knew things were going to be different for their band Bleached sophomore LP Welcome The Worms. Not only had they managed to charm world renowned producer Joe Chiccarelli (Morrissey, The Strokes, Elton John) to join the sisters and their bassist Micayla Grace in the studio, but Jen and Jessie had been crawling out of their own personal dramas. While emotionally spinning, they dove head first into music.

The three girls spent time writing the 10 song LP at a remote house in Joshua Tree, away from the distractions of the city. Other times Jen and Jessie worked alone, just like when they were teenaged punk brats playing in their parents' garage, imitating their heroes The Slits, Black Flag and Minor Threat.

    Time Capsules II

Time Capsules II is the debut album from Brad Oberhofer, recorded in Brooklyn in late 2011 with legendary producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, The Rolling Stones, Morrissey, Talking Heads). Drawing on influences ranging from Brian Wilson to Descartes, the 21 year old is fixated on the idea of making philosophically minded, energetic melodies.

Emotion is what drives the psychedelic, catchy pop-rock tunes crafted by the effervescent Brad Oberhofer. After moving to Brooklyn from his hometown of Tacoma, WA to attend New York University, Brad quickly immersed himself in the indie rock community forming the four-piece which is now, quite simply, Oberhofer.

Catching the attention of Glassnote Records, the band officially joined the labels' roster over the summer of 2011. Armed with a belief that you spend your entire life searching for the socially aware version of the five year old "you," he tries to inject each song with the innocence felt by that same kid, sitting on the couch of his parents house playing the broken guitar he spent months teaching himself how to play.

Referring to his songwriting as a time capsule of exactly how I'm feeling at a particular moment, each song on his forthcoming debut, Time Capsules II, is a clear, unrestrained look inside the head of Brad Oberhofer. Gold is a reflection on two magical weeks spent with a first love that inadvertently initiated his musical endeavors. Away Frm U" is a nostalgic yet upbeat ode to saying goodbye to that love. Like most of the brilliant debut, the stand-out I Could Go shows that above all, his heart is on his sleeve in both his words and everything he creates, a trademark that suits his search for sincerity well.

Hatful of Hollow (Out Of Stock)

Several months after releasing their first album, The Smiths issued this collection of singles and rarities, several of which are BBC versions of songs from their debut. The Smiths treated singles as individual entities, not just ways to promote an album, and therefore many of there finest songs were never issued on their studio albums. As if this wasn't enough, this compilation contains the first appearance of what may be the band's finest moment. "How Soon Is Now" encapsulates everything good about The Smiths; Morrissey's mocking lyrics, Marr's stunning vibrato guitar and a rhythm section you could set your watch to.

Contrived by Johnny Marr, The Smiths evolved when Marr unearthed Morrissey and insisted upon a collaboration. The idea was to produce songs which were always instantaneous and listenable whilst also provoking deep thought; emeshing Morrissey's words with Marr's music in a sound which, above all, would stand apart without being inaccessible or esoteric. The guitar-based songs would blend melody without havoc, as the words - born out of absolute physical necessity - would tug at the straps of cultural straightjackets.

Christened as an antidote to a prevalent idea that modern groups would near a far-reaching, multi-syllabic name to authorise their artistry, The Smiths were completed with Andy Rourke (the bass guitar) and Mike Joyce (the drums). Joyce had served time with a clump of healthily depraved groups, whilst the other three members were without any serious musical involvement. The Smiths first surfaced in September '82, and the group determined that all their moves be surefooted and worthwhile. As a live group, The Smiths believed that it was possible to replenish appetites of both the soul and the pelvis simultaneously. They were urban, but never bleak; there was a humour in tragedy, solace in unity. The voice was the collective rage of all suppressed hysterics: Morrissey popularised the creased brow.

Always Manchester-based, The Smiths contended that one has to live somewhere... and soon rewrote the history of their city. Following misdirected collisions with major record companies, the group were adopted by Rough Trade, and the first result was the single Hand in Glove / Handsome Devil. The sound attacked the depersonalised sterility of their contemporaries whose clinical synthesized rhythms, The Smiths believed, left audiences feeling non-human and petrified of emotion. Lyrically, the fundamental idea was to use phraseology which had simply never been used before.

The Smiths took firm control of any promotional images which bore their name, and naturally their artwork would always counteract accepted ingredients of popular music, without being hostile. The Smiths maintained the integrity and ethos of their manifesto across four studio albums and a live album that was issued after their split. Their legacy matches their original ambition - to produce songs which were always instantaneous and listenable whilst also provoking deep thought. And there you are.
