Lehmann Decade Phono Stage
Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.
Lehmannaudio is has built a reputation and unrivalled customer satisfaction on the sound and build quality of phono stages. The ambitious Decade effectively fills the gap between the Black Cube SE II and the Lehmannaudio reference phono stage, the Silver Cube. In the Decade, like in all Lehmannaudio devices, top notch technology is used that normally can be found only in price ranges far above.
The input stages of the Decade can also be found in top notch mixing consoles and high class microphone preamps of professional studio electronics. The highly accurate, passive RIAA equalisation network is placed between two linear gain stages and uses precision MKP capacitors. This results in a very stable soundstage reproduction and pin point localisation of instruments.
The maximum gain of 66 dB is well enough for even very exotic low output MC cartridges. Impedance load adaption is practically infinite as with all Lehmannaudio phono stages: there is a free slot for a custom impedance so that every existing MC cartridge on the market can be loaded properly. Input capacitances are adjustable as well.
Soft bass roll-off filter and PWX II power supply.
The Decade is the first phono stage by Lehmannaudio that offers a Soft-Bass- Rolloff-Filter and gain selections accessible via toggle switches at the face plate. Both, gain and filter functions, are executed by studio grade relais inside the unit.
The Decade is powered by the PWX II, a power supply especially developed for the unit which is downward compatible with the PWX. This means that Black Cube audio sections can also be connected. The second power outlet at the PWX II is made especially for that purpose. The PWX II power supply with chokes at critical places powers the Decade with very clean DC power and - like the Silver Cube - is connected to the audio section via a shielded cable with Neutrik XLR plugs.$2,099.00Phono Stage - 2 Colors Available Buy Now
Drama1980 was an interesting year for the legendary prog-rockers Yes. While the Close To The Edge line-up was taking a break for a few years, founding member Chris Squire maintained the legendary status of the band along with long-time band mates Steve Howe and Alan White, with new members Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes (both from The Buggles), and created the hard rocking masterpiece Drama.
A bit of a departure from the more classically oriented feel of previous efforts, this album slammed all the way to the top of the rock charts! From the kick off track Machine Messiah, Yes was a new entity with a lot of guts, flair for delivering a hit album, and a darling of the new video medium thanks to the support of outlets like MTV.
New Yes vocalist Trevor Horn and keyboardist Geoff Downes were nothing but first class musicians from the word go, and the writing of the band in total truly generated some of the more enduring tunes in their four decade long catalog. For instance, the entire side two of this album was usually played in its entirety at radio due to the power of each song. With stand outs like Into The Lens with its I Am A Camera refrain, it was easy to hear why this new edgy Yes sound truly resonated in the early '80s. If you need more proof, how about the incredible musicianship on Run Through The Light, and of course the super hit Tempus Fugit, both of which made this album the classic that it is to this day. Steve Howes guitar work was second to none, along with some very heavy bass and drum work throughout from Chris Squire and Alan White, Drama was truly a remarkable team effort for Yes.
Friday Music is once again the proud home of yet another classic Yes masterpiece, with their masterwork Drama. Issued here for the first time in the 180g audiophile vinyl format, the fans have been requesting this and of course, we heard you loud and clear. This limited edition album is mastered from the original Atlantic tapes by Joe Reagoso (Close To The Edge/90120/Relayer) and also includes the limited edition gatefold cover, as you remember it.1. Don't Cry Now (Awaiting Repress)After her breakthrough on Capitol Records with The Stone Poneys (Different Drum) plus some acclaimed solo releases, Linda Ronstadt jumped to David Geffens bourgeoning Asylum roster, joining The Eagles and Jackson Browne to form the genesis of the California Country-Rock sound.
Dont Cry Now, her first for Asylum was released in 1973 and would help solidify Ronstadt as one of the premiere female pop vocalists for the next two decades. This is one of the most exceptional sounding female vocalist recordings of the 1970's.
Various tracks were produced by John Boylan, J. D. Souther; and, for the first time in what would be a long and highly successful relationship, British musician (Peter & Gordon) Peter Asher. The album spent more than a year on the Billboard chart and peaked at No. 45. Featured hit singles are the Eagles' Desperado, Bonnie Raitts Love Has No Pride, Randy Newmans sly observation on slavery and southern culture Sail Away plus a nod to both Dusty Springfield and the Grand Ole Opry with Silver Threads and Golden Needles.
Guest appearances include guitar work by both the Eagles Glenn Frey and super-sessionman Larry Carlton, plus harmonica by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Bands Jimmy Fadden, bass and drums by L.A.A-teamers Lee Sklar and Russ Kunkel respectively, plus last but certainly not least, the legendary Sneeky Pete adding his tasteful pedal steel throughout.

Prisoner In DisguiseAfter the success of Heart Like A Wheel, Linda Ronstadt released Prisoner In Disguise in 1975, which further fortified her standing as one of America's most popular interpretive singers. The album yielded two strong singles, her beautiful renditions of the Motown classics Heat Wave and Tracks of My Tears. In addition the album included a banjo-strumming version of Neil Young's Love Is a Rose, a plaintive pop reading of Jimmy Cliff's reggae classic Many Rivers to Cross and a lovely cover of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You. The Cars (Awaiting Repress)Ranked 282/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Let the Good Times Roll: Half-Speed Mastered LP Sounds Amazing!
The Cars Classic 1978 Debut a Veritable Greatest Hits Album: Nearly Every Song a Radio Staple
My Best Friend's Girl, Just What I Needed, You're All I've Got Tonight Among the Tunes on the Hit Parade
One of the most successful and enjoyable debuts in history, The Cars self-titled album doubles as a greatest-hits collection. Thats because not one song here is unrecognized or unknown. A huge reason why the Boston quintet became Americas most popular new-wave band, The Cars launched eight tracks still regularly heard on radio stations everywhere. Consider the hit list: Youre All Ive Got Tonight. Good Times Roll. Just What I Needed. Moving in Stereo. My Best Friends Girl. Dont Cha Stop. If youre a fan of pop music, this album is mandatory. Just call it the best new-wave rock album ever made.
Led by Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr, the Cars managed to unite then-disparate styles: bubblegum pop melodies, angular art rock, progressive arrangements, and terse minimalism. Orrs low, understated singing and Ocaseks cool, detached vocals lend shades of doubt and double meaning to the lyrics, which are further counterbalanced by orchestral keyboard flourishes and electronic beats. The brilliant arrangements also benefit from a laidback cool and understated irony that remain uncommon in the over-the-top world of mainstream music. Obsessed with incorporating the latest technologies and sounds into its palette, the band spiced its tunes with delightfully quirky accentscountry-tinged guitar fills, echoing Syndrums, reggae splashes, hard-rock tones, robotic pulses.
The results are the sounds of a creative landmark. At once accessible and eccentric, edgy and catchy, The Cars explodes with emotion, energy, and hooks. Its impossible not to get caught up humming and singing along to every song, an appeal that comes courtesy of Roy Thomas Bakers stellar production. The legendary producer, best known for his work with Queen, ensured that the record seamlessly packed a smooth midrange, spacious imaging, and call-and-answer choruses in one tight package. Bakers trademark touches with harmony vocals abound.
And now, The Cars sounds better than it has in any previous incarnation. Half-speed mastered from the original analog tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition LP allows the musics oscillating rhythms, futuristic keyboard passages, panned stereo images, and rippling textures to be experienced like never before. The songs take on a surreal quality, the Cars manipulating the vibrant music at will to mesmerize the listeners senses and hold them at bay. Hasten Down The Wind (Awaiting Repress)Make Haste! Grab the Limited-Edition 180g LP of this Classic Now!
Did any musician have more talent at their beckon call during the 70s than Linda Ronstadt? Absolutely not. Part of her impeccable string of mid-1970s albums that defined California's soft-rock scene, the Grammy-winning Hasten Down the Wind is Ronstadt at her best and that's saying something. Consider the watertight repertoire: The Warren Zevon title track. Patsy Cline's (by way of Willie Nelson) 'Crazy.' Buddy Holly's 'That'll Be the Day.' Nelson's 'Down So Low.' Karla Bonoff's 'If He's Ever Near.' Ry Cooder's 'The Tattler.'
And then, there's the supporting cast, which includes Eagles legend Don Henley on drums and harmony vocals, folk-rock legend Peter Asher on guitar, session drumming master Russ Kunkel, and multi-instrumentalist sensation Andrew Gold playing just about everything with strings or skins. Couple this with the thematically revealing cover in a nod to the escapism of fantasy romance novels, the singer stands on a beach before an ocean and a running horse, her exposing dress a sign of the lovesick vulnerability that colors the songs and Hasten Down the Wind is the complete package of sensuality, passion, and poignancy.
Now, due to Mobile Fidelity's trademark sonic restoration, the album finally has the exquisite sound it has always deserved. Listeners can now literally feel Ronstadt's deep-seeded emotions. Even better, her covers of affecting ballads and midtempo country-rock numbers intentionally revolve around vocal-heavy arrangements. It's no wonder that the album, which topped the country charts, also yielded two Top 20 hits and resulted in the artist's first platinum-record award.
But make haste! Quantities are limited, and, unlike Ronstadt's timeless interpretations, this will not be around forever.

Candy-OHow did the Cars move beyond their smash 1978 debut (also available on Mobile Fidelity 180-gram LP) and secure their status as one of musics leading bands for years to come? Look no further than the quadruple-platinum Candy-O. Continuing along the streamlined pop paths of its predecessor, the sophomore effort is preoccupied with desirable women that are as mysterious, sexy, and cool as the groups musicand the records pin-up cover.
With rare exception, few new-wave artists enjoyed much of a career outside of a one-hit wonder. Candy-O proves the Cars were anything but. Its loaded with minimalist atmospherics, pulsing bass lines, catchy refrains, and labyrinthine synthesizers that stick in your mind for days. And while retaining a simplicity thats a Cars hallmark, the album also takes myriad stylistic detours: the glam-rock accents of Dangerous Type, a song whose title references the records mysterious and lusty matter; the percolating riffs of the contagious title track; the dizzying garage-rock nature of the upbeat Got a Lot on My Mind, complete with a tooting Farfisa organ. Nothing drags or feels out of place.
Through it all, vocalists Benjamin Orr and Ric Ocasek keep their heads about themselves, singing in direct albeit detached tones that convey the tension, excitement, and risky promise inherent in the lyrics. Hook-laced choruses abound. Yet all is not what it seems.
Hooks are mechanical by nature, but the affectlessness of these deserves special mention; only listeners who consider alienation is the craze a great insight will find much meaning here. On the other hand, only listeners who demand meaning in all things will find this useless. Cold and thin, shiny and hypnotic, it's what [the Cars] do best--rock and roll that is definitely pop without a hint of cuteness. Robert Christgau, The Consumer Guide
Half-speed mastered from the original analog tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition LP brings the Cars distinctive melodies and exotic arrangements to the fore in ways that have never been heard outside of the recording studio. For the first time, Roy Thomas Bakers vocal production shines, with each members contributions rescued from a cold sonic murk that detracted from the musics impact on both vinyl and the extremely compressed CD. Once you hear the newly uncovered dynamics and rich textures, youll be wondering where they were all of these years. Chalk this up as an essential addition to your pop collection.

This Year's Model (Awaiting Repress)Ranked 98/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The first record he made with his legendary backing band the Attractions, This Years Model is Elvis Costellos most explosive and urgent album. Picking up where his fine My Aim Is True left off, the British singer/guitarist blasts through 13 excellent tracks with the fervent purpose and headlong pace of someone who has a cab waiting for him outside.
Stylistically versatile, deeply varied, and melodically catchy, this where Costello came into his ownand where the chemistry between virtuosic keyboardist Steve Nieve, bassist Bruce Thomas, and drummer Pete Thomas produced one of rocks best groups. A dynamic maelstrom of emotional spite, bitter frustration, sexual angst, and caustic political commentary, the 1978 set boosted Costellos star and yielded innumerable standards: the undying MOR protest Radio Radio, fervent Pump It Up, smart (I Dont Want to Go to) Chelsea, and spunky No Action are all here.
While often cited as Costellos angry record, This Years Model has more to do with disappointments and denials. The album bursts forth with a savage energy not possible without the Attractions, which are responsible for the songs being built from the ground up. Where Costellos voice and twangy guitar dominate My Aim Is True, here, sizzling rhythms and Nieves colorful organ runs anchor the foundations. This is a group effort, with Costellos biting lyrics taking chances and forcing the listener to mull double meanings all the while the music zooms by at a fast clip.
More than 30 years after its original release, This Years Model will still leave you breathless. Railing against unachievable desires, Costello and company delight in the anguish, and spit such torment back out in the form of hook-ridden music that functions as a brilliant form of situational confirmation and emotional catharsis.
Half-speed mastered from the original tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition 180-gram LP brings This Years Models vicious songs to the forefront like never before. Punchier, gutsier, and livelier than any of the myriad CD remasters, this analog edition offers a transparent window onto the Attractions' loose interplay, Nieve's carnivalesque organ work, and rabid pounce of the Thomas-Thomas rhythm section. Here, for the first time, are previously buried tones, textures, and details. It took years to happen, but this is how This Years Model was always supposed to sound.

Pirates (Awaiting Repress)Rickie Lee Jones Pirates On Numbered Limited-Edition 180-gram LP From Mobile Fidelity. Singer-Songwriters gorgeous-sounding 1981 album finally remastered!
Rickie Lee Jones' Pirates arrives like a cloudburst in the desert of Eighties formula pop music and recycled heavy-metal rock. So wrote Stephen Holden in Rolling Stone in his five-star review of the eclectic artists sophomore album, a set that continues to defy eras and styles. While less-well known than her 1979 self-titled debut, the ambitious 1981 record remains Jones definitive statementan effort steeped in biographical details, fictional circumstances, and classic literary elements.
Narratively blending West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet while also exploring spirit worlds and her breakup with Tom Waits, Pirates is at its core an idiosyncratic fusion of possibilities. And does Jones deliver! Accompanied by an all-star lineup that includes trumpeter Randy Brecker, Steely Dan icon Donald Fagen, drumming colossus Steve Gadd, session pro Victor Feldman, and legendary jazz arranger Ralph Burns, the singer-songwriter achieves a musical nirvana that encompasses post-bop, coffeehouse folk, bohemian pop, romantic soul, Beat poetry, and Broadway showtunes.
Harmonized vocals and jive talking bring the piano-based records rich characters to life, making it seem as if listeners are overhearing conversations between strangers. In more than one way, Pirates is a self-contained theatrical production in which Jones singing is the star attraction. Her moody whispers, cries, and coos are the voices of spurned lovers, alienated outcasts, and unlikely heroines. Albums with this kind of stylistic magnitude, close-up intimacy, and emotional intensity come around only once or so a decade.
Mobile Fidelity is proud to have had the opportunity to remaster Pirates from the original analog master tapes and produce a version that captures every nuance of this great-sounding studio masterpiece. Co-produced by Russ Titelman and Lenny Waronker (whose long list of credits include Randy Newman, James Taylor, and Eric Clapton records), trust us when we say that this 180-gram LP is one of the finest-sounding pop records youll hear. Fans of Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman, Carole King, and Sarah Vaughan should consider this requisite listening. MoFis mini-LP style packaging only adds to the allure.

Shake It UpSonically Spectacular LP Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Tapes!
1981 Album a Return to Pop and a New-Wave Landmark
A return to form after the departure that was 1980s muddled Panorama, the Cars Shake It Up bursts forth with a rich assembly of synthesizers, drum machines, electronic blips, and catchy melodies that make it an early 80s pop staple. Known the world over, the famous title track proves the bands arrangement skills were in perfect shape and set the stage for a record overflowing with memorable hooks and complementary rock riffs.
Shake It Up also plays witness to primary songwriter/vocalist Ric Ocaseks increased cynicism and biting wit. While the Cars never took a rosy-eyed view of romance, the songs here impart a newfound sense of sympathy, regret, limbo, and reservation. The beauty of the Carsand all ten tunes hereis that the music suggests something else entirely. Such subliminal emotions and dynamic contrasts act as a magnet, and the band plays as if its in on the secret.
They've always cultivated a dark side--girls make boys want to end it all even after the boys have grown up. They've always basked in the shadow of Roxy Music, too. But they've never been so stylishly nightmarish--except for the title cut, even the fast ones don't aim for fun. Robert Christgau, The Consumer Guide
Apart from the party vibe of the title cut, the Cars aim for deeper targets and smarter undertones. Shake It Up is defined by an urban edginess and modern feel that comes alive on tunes such as Cruiser and circular Im Not the One, a pop gem laded with stacked vocals and keyboard lines that double as a horn section. The bands arrangements have never been betteror more involved. Absent the cheesiness that would mar the groups late-period work, the songs ride on the strength of keyboard-heavy lines and layered harmonies. You will not be disappointed.
Half-speed mastered from the original analog tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition LP focuses on the myriad pitch changes that control the musical directions. Recorded at the bands Synchro Sound studios by famed Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker, the album takes advantage of electronic textures and varying timbres in immersing the listener in accessible albeit abstract washes of sound. MoFis engineers made sure to capture every note and nuance; this marks the first time that Shake It Up has been remastered in any way, let alone from the original tapes.

Original Analog Masters Located After 18 Years and Used for Remaster
Half-Speed Mastering Yields Unprecedented Sound
Also Available on Limited Edition MoFi Hybrid SACD!
The opening instrumental to Bossanova makes it clear that the Pixies werent about to take the same crazed approach on their major-label debut as they did on their initial standout efforts, 1987's Surfer Rosa and 1989's Doolittle, also available from Mobile Fidelity on 180g LP. More straightforward, linear, fluid, subtle, and dreamy, Bossanova finds the band exploring pop structures, dropping psychedelic accents, and satisfying surf-rock urges. While it often verges off-the-beaten path, particularly for mainstream tastes circa 1990, the set is the most accessible and hook-ridden record the Pixies ever made.
Black Francis surreal narratives and breathy delivery flavor tunes like Is She Weird, Velouria, and The Happening, all of which sonically and/or lyrically tie into themes of aliens and sex. Macabre fixations and noisy outbursts take a backseat to tunefulness, putting a spotlight on Joey Santiagos underrated guitar work and Kim Deals complementary back-up vocals. Recognizing the changes, producer Gil Norton bestowed Bossanova with spacious dynamics and wide-open arrangements that allow the music to breathe.
The analog masters for Bossanova had been missing for 18 years before finally being located in 2008 in the WEA tape archives in Los Angeles. This release marks the first time that the original ½-inch analog master tapes have been used since Bossanova was originally released in August 1990. Be assured that this is the very finest version of Bossanova you will ever hear. At long last, the staggering dimensions of the Pixies canyon-wide soundscapes and three-dimensional atmospherics of their nuanced vocals are faithfully reproduced.
An essential document of one of the 20th centurys most vital bands, these numbered limited edition copies will sell out.

Foreigner (Awaiting Repress)Blockbuster 1977 Debut Packed With Anthemic Classic Rock Hits and Heroic Guitar Riffs
Feels Like the First Time: You've Never Heard Foreigner Sound So Immediate, Detailed, Warm, and Dynamic in Analog
System-Testing Sonics: Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Master Tapes
Blissful feelings arise at the mere mention of 70s arena rock. It gives listeners the permission to have fun, sing along to aircraft-hangar-size choruses, play air guitar solos, forget about any troubles, recall the experience of a first kiss, and quite simply, rock out. Few albums better instill these pleasures than Foreigners 1977 self-titled debut album, a five-times platinum blockbuster chock full of salacious riffs, soaring vocals, edgy beats, and lyrics that practically demand to be shouted. And while the record has always boasted clean, immediate production, never before has it exploded with the dynamic intensity and rich transparency now made possible on Mobile Fidelitys dynamic 180g LP. This is what rock n roll dreams are made of.
Spearheaded by guitar hero Mick Jones, fresh off success with Spooky Tooth, Foreigner rallied around a talented collective pulled from the U.S. and U.K. Joining up with former King Crimson instrumentalist Ian McDonald and drummer Dennis Elliott, as well as keyboardist Al Greenwood and bassist Ed Gagliardi, Jones completed the puzzle with the addition of extraordinary singer Lou Gramm, whose vocal timbre and limitless pipes remain one of the most instantly identifiable combinations in music. Before long, two eternal radio classicsFeels Like the First Time and Cold As Ice, composed on a miniature piano and inspired by Hollywood star Joan Crawfordwere in the bag. Eight more tunes, each as solid as those that came before, followed, and Foreigner quickly became an overnight rock sensation.
In contrast to much of the eras angrier fare and crudely produced music, Foreigner stood out by way of its clean, muscular, professional production. Still, Mobile Fidelity believed that underneath the surfaces, an even fresher, bigger-sounding record loomed. Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, MoFis 180g LP presents the sextets roof-raising anthems and scintillating blend of guitars, synths, and Gramms soulful vocals across a wider, deeper soundstage than ever before imagined. Instrumental separation, tonal balance, and imaging are absolutely superb. Better still, the songs come across with an assertive liveliness that adds to their enjoyment, structure, and melodic character. The accessory flutes, saxophones, and synthesizer solos have never sounded so enmeshed within the overall sonic fabric.
