    New York Dolls

When the New York Dolls released their debut album in 1973, they managed to be named both Best New Band
and Worst Band in Creem Magazine's annual reader's poll, and it usually takes something special to polarize an
audience like that. While New York Dolls clearly came from a very specific time and place, this album still sounds
fresh and hasn't dated in the least -- this is one of rock's greatest debut albums, and a raucous statement of
purpose that's still bold and thoroughly engaging.

    Triplicate

Triplicate, is the new three-disc studio album from Bob Dylan. The collection features 30 brand-new recordings of classic American tunes and marking the first triple-length set of the artist's illustrious career. With each disc individually titled and presented in a thematically-arranged 10-song sequence, Triplicate showcases Dylan's unique and much-lauded talents as a vocalist, arranger and bandleader on 30 compositions by some of music's most lauded and influential songwriters. The Jack Frost-produced album is the 38th studio set from Bob Dylan and marks the first new music from the artist since Fallen Angels, which was released in early 2016.

For Triplicate, Dylan assembled his touring band in Hollywood's Capitol studios to record hand-chosen songs from an array of American songwriters such as Charles Strouse and Lee Adams (Once Upon A Time), Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler (Stormy Weather), Harold Hupfield (As Time Goes By) and Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh (The Best Is Yet To Come). The titles of the individual discs are 'Til The Sun Goes Down, Devil Dolls and Comin' Home Late. According to Bob Dylan, I am finding these great songs to be a tremendous source of inspiration that has led me to one of my most satisfying periods in the studio. I've hit upon new ways to uncover and interpret these songs that are right in line with the best recordings of my own songs, and my band and I really seemed to hit our stride on every level with Triplicate.

Dylan's two previous album of classic American songs, 2016's Fallen Angels and 2015's Shadows in the Night, were both worldwide hits and garnered Grammy Award nominations in the category of Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Both albums received worldwide critical acclaim, with Randy Lewis writing of Fallen Angels in The Los Angeles Times, [Dylan] immediately liberates songs from the big band/big orchestra world from which they emerged, and in which they are most frequently revisited . [He] reaches to the blues at the core of many of these songs. Thus, they elicit the ache of romantic yearning and loss that often gets subsumed by swelling orchestral forces, background choirs or by singers who are more focused on crafting elegant vocals than finding emotional resonance. The Telegraph's Neil McCormick awarded Shadows in the Night five out of five stars and described the work as spooky, bittersweet, mesmerizingly moving [with] the best singing from Dylan in 25 years. Jon Pareles wrote of that album in the New York Times, Mr. Dylan presents yet another changed voice a subdued, sustained tone .Shadows in the Night maintains its singular mood: lovesick, haunted, suspended between an inconsolable present and all the regrets of the past.

Bob Dylan has sold more than 125 million records around the world.

    Too Much Too Soon

Too Much Too Soon is the second studio album by American hard rock band the New York Dolls. The group was
dissatisfied with the recording of their 1973 self-titled debut album, leading the band's frontman David Johansen to
enlist veteran producer Shadow Morton for Too Much Too Soon. Morton had become disenchanted by the music
industry, but felt motivated by the band's energy and agreed to work with them as a challenge. They recorded the
album in 1974 at A&R Studios in New York City.

    Kiss (Awaiting Repress)

Kiss' 1974 self-titled debut is one of hard rock's all-time classic studio recordings. Kiss is chock full of their best and most renowned compositions, containing elements of Rolling Stones/New York Dolls party-hearty rock & roll, Beatles tunefulness, and Sabbath/Zep heavy metal, and wisely recorded primal and raw by producers Richie Wise and Kenny Kerner (of Gladys Knight fame). Main songwriters Stanley and Simmons each had a knack for coming up with killer melodies and riffs, as evidenced by Nothin' to Lose and Deuce (by Simmons), Firehouse and Black Diamond (by Stanley), as well as Strutter and 100,000 Years (collaborations by the two). Also included is the Ace Frehley alcohol anthem Cold Gin, Let Me Know (a song that Stanley played for Simmons upon their very first meeting, then titled Sunday Driver), and one of Kiss' few instrumentals: the groovy Love Theme from Kiss (penned by the entire band). The only weak track is a tacky cover of the 1959 Bobby Rydell hit Kissin' Time, which was added to subsequent pressings of the album to tie in with a Kissing Contest promotion the band was involved in at the time. Along with 1976's Destroyer, Kiss' self-titled debut is their finest studio album, and has only improved over the years.

    Oriental Beat

    Pressed On 140-Gram Clear Vinyl

Oriental Beat is the second studio album by the Finnish glam punk band Hanoi Rocks, recorded in London and released in 1982. Oriental Beat also opened markets in the UK and Japan, where Hanoi eventually became very popular. The album finds Hanoi Rocks bringing the glam sound and look of the New York Dolls into the '80s. It is full of big singalong choruses and catchy riffs that would have made the band big(ger) players either five years earlier or later. The band shows its punk and glam influences not only with its look on the cover of the album but also with the music performed on the album as well.

    Toys In The Attic

Ranked 228/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Remastered From The Original Source Tapes!

Contains the classics Sweet Emotion, Walk This Way, & Toys In The Attic

After nearly getting off the ground with Get Your Wings, Aerosmith finally perfected their mix of Stonesy raunch and Zeppelin-esque riffing with their third album, Toys in the Attic. The success of the album derives from a combination of an increased sense of songwriting skills and purpose. Not only does Joe Perry turn out indelible riffs like Walk This Way, Toys in the Attic, and Sweet Emotion, but Steven Tyler has fully embraced sleaziness as his artistic muse. Taking his cue from the old dirty blues Big Ten Inch Record, Tyler writes with a gleeful impishness about sex throughout Toys in the Attic, whether it's the teenage heavy petting of Walk This Way, the promiscuous Sweet Emotion, or the double-entendres of Uncle Salty and Adam's Apple. The rest of Aerosmith, led by Perry's dirty, exaggerated riffing, provide an appropriately greasy backing. Before Toys in the Attic, no other hard rock band sounded like this. Sure, Aerosmith cribbed heavily from the records of the Rolling Stones, New York Dolls, and Led Zeppelin, but they didn't have any of the menace of their influences, nor any of their mystique. Aerosmith was a gritty, street-wise hard rock band who played their blues as blooze and were in it for a good time; Toys in the Attic crystallizes that attitude.

Max's Kansas City 1976: Extended Version

40th Anniversary Issue Of The Pioneering Punk Club 'Max's 1976' Comp, Plus Bonus Max's Album And The Background Story

In 1976 the New York City club 'Max's Kansas City' entered a new musical phase, with the underground movement that became PuNk developing within its walls. Resident DJ Wayne County wrote a song for the club cataloguing the new bands that regularly played there: New York Dolls, Patti Smith, The Ramones, Television, Blondie, Iggy Pop, the Heartbreakers and many more. The single was issued as a taster for the 40th anniversary of 'Max's Kansas City 1976' compilation album, now due for a much-extended reissuedon double-vinyl.

Alongside Wayne County it features Suicide, Cherry Vanilla, The Fast, Harry Toledo and more; now expanded with 20 more unsung underground heroes including The Offs, The Senders and The Stilettos, plus the Heartbreakers, New York Dolls, Iggy Pop, Nico, Gang War and Sid Vicious, including various previously unreleased recordings and rarities. Over the years the Max's Kansas City club has become ever more legendary.

Izzy Stradlin was always the most gifted member of Guns N' Roses, able to put a modern spin on the classic Rock of Chuck Berry, the Stones, and the Faces, as well as the New York Dolls and Sex Pistols. Axl may have had the angst and Slash may have had the chops, but Izzy had the smarts and the heart.

On his debut solo album, released in 1992, the traditional elements that had always formed the backbone of Stradlin's music with Guns N' Roses comes to the forefront. Unlike future albums released by Stradlin, this one was released under a band name: Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds.

    Yoko and the Oh No's

Yoko & the Oh No's are three kids from Chicago - Max Goldstein on vocals, Max Loebman on guitar, and Stef Roti on drums - a raging trio fueled by Taco Bell, rock & roll myths, and pilfered booze. It doesn't quite add up how kids this young (Max L. just graduated high school) managed to tap into a vibe this classic. The band's self-titled full-length debut, out July 31 on Autumn Tone, is crammed with classic rock riffs, swinging beats, and up front, the sassy, done-up style of Max G. emoting loosely and widly like a young David Johansen fronting the New York Dolls, possessing a crooner's voice and a taste for style. Dolled up in flashy get-ups, Max G.'s voice is a growly, beefy thing, a rangy tenor that belies his taste for soul shouters. The prevailing mood in modern indie garage rock is one of stylistic indifference, but that's not how Yoko & the Oh No's come across; these kiddos don't just care, they care a lot. Listen to the crashing classic rock chorus of "Heart Attack," the sneering "She Knows It," and the distorted R&B groove of "Nobody Wants to Know." "Talking over radio/on the moonlit drive/We listen to VU/Jane says close your eyes." Yoko & the Oh No's S/T album is their first for Autumn Tone Records, which has a knack for finding raw young bucks (turn up records by the Orwells, Twin Peaks, and Modern Vices as a testament). Yoko & the Oh No's are currently on tour with likeminded rock & roll weirdos The Growlers, blowing minds and connecting with crowds across the Midwest.

Described as Kiss meets The Ramones meets The New York Dolls, the albums sways and moves to the groove of that '70s glam/punk thing. The songs are rock n' roll club hits with elements of '70s pop, glam, and rock, and feature some serious stadium drums. One after the next, they hit like a White Hammer. Boomtown Gems was recorded and produced at Screaming Viking Studios with Matthew Johnson and Apache, and mixed at New And Improved Recordings with Eli Crews.

Featuring members of The Cuts, Parchman Farm, Ghenghis Khan, and others, Apache is simply a band of four dudes. One guitar. One bass. One drummer. One singer. The big guy sings falsetto, while the surfer bro behind the kit bangs out beats heavy enough to ride any wave. The guitar player is some sorta reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix meeting Kurt Cobain in a dark club in New York City. And the frontman, leading the charge...he is simply known as Apache.

Just when it seems that no one can really effectively duplicate the early-'70s glam sound, along comes Apache from San Francisco with a ramrodding, yet slovenly swing that booms and crushes those notions into a fine powder. --Victim of Time

If the Zeroes had been into The Quick but also quietly listened to a good bit of Alice Cooper, they would have likely sounded like this... --Douchemaster Records

    Title

"'All About That Bass' doesn't sound like anything else that's on pop radio
right now - especially the chorus, which has a doo-wop feel." - Billboard

"All About That Bass is a sweet delight on every level - from its pro-curves lyrics to its lilting,
island-tinged groove, to Trainor's girl-group-era delivery that will make you
miss Amy Winehouse all over again." - Newsday

"With its throwback soul beat, its body-positive message couched in a cute metaphor,
and its dance-filled, candy-colored video, Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass"
couldn't have been better designed to go viral." - Entertainment Weekly

"She's a cheeky one, but the up-and-coming pop star has a charm that's hard to resist.
Her bubblegum hit is burning up the Billboard top 10 and the 20-year-old singer
could end up being the next Katy Perry." - New York Post

When she was still in high school, singer/songwriter MEGHAN
TRAINOR landed a deal with Nashville music publishing
company Big Yellow Dog and started writing songs for artists
from all corners of the music world. A multi-instrumentalist who
put out three albums on her own by the age of 17, the 20-yearold
Nantucket, Massachusetts native has penned tracks for
everyone from Grammy-winning country superstars RASCAL
FLATTS and Grammy-nominated country artist HUNTER HAYES
to reggae/rock/R&B group COMMON KINGS and Hot Chelle
Rae singer RYAN FOLLESÉ. Recently signed to Epic Records,
Meghan joined forces with Grammy-nominated producer/
songwriter Kevin Kadish (Miley Cyrus, Jason Mraz) for her
infectious debut single, "ALL ABOUT THAT BASS," a playful,
empowering and unapologetic pop anthem that encourages
girls to ignore the Barbie doll standard of beauty and love
    themselves inside and out.

    Realism (Out Of Stock)

The Magnetic Fields' third Nonesuch disc, Realism, is the flipside to the industrial pop of Distortion, the quartet's brilliant 2008 homage to, of all things, the clangorous sound of the Jesus and Mary Chain. While Distortion was recorded quickly and noisily in the stairwells and rooms of the New York City apartment building to which singer-songwriter-bandleader Stephen Merritt was about to bid adieu for California, Realism was cut in the distortion-free environs of a Los Angeles studio, and its sound is as pristine as a plein-air painting. There are no drum kits to be heard, and the fascinatingly varied instrumentation - guitars, accordions, violins, cellos, tablas, banjos, tuba, even a smattering of mellifluous falling leaves - did not need to be plugged in. And, as with Distortion, the album credits emphasize: No Synths.

With tongue only slightly in cheek, Merritt has taken to declaring Realism his folk album. To get the point across, there is an upbeat, sing-along number early in the set called We Are Having a Hootenany. Merritt's inspirations, however, were the orchestrated, mostly British folk of the late '60s/early '70s, which owe as much to '60s psychedelia as to traditional music, and the work of Judy Collins, who stretched the boundaries of folk with the chamber pop arrangements of such albums as In My Life and Wildflowers.

Like Collins, Merritt favors variety and theatricality. She skipped from Jacques Brel to the Beatles; he goes from the trippy, toy-box melodies of The Dolls' Tea Party and Painted Flower to the foot-stomping rhythms of The Dada Polka. There's even a deceptively festive holiday number, Everything Is One Big Christmas Tree, featuring a lusty chorus sung in German. In content, Merritt's songs veer between longing and loneliness, desire and dismissal, romance and revenge. Reality is as distorted as ever, and the characters who populate his songs are never just plain folk.

Along with his long-time band-mates Sam Davol, Claudia Gonson and John Woo, Merritt is joined again by vocalist Shirley Simms and accordionist Daniel Handler. Also on board: horn player Johnny Blood and violinist Ida Pearle, familiar to fans of Magnetic Fields' earlier, independently released work.
