The emotionally churned fourth album from this heavyweight Australian trio takes we listeners on a ride of hope through the familar bogs of weariness and longing, beckoning us along through thick layers of guitar, violin and drums, until finally trapping us to smother in an inescapable quicksand of true beauty.

    New Ocean

Neva Dinova frontman Jake Bellows enlisted old friends Ben Brodin (engineer at ARC Studios and Conor Oberst sideman), Ryan Fox (The Good Life), Todd Fink (The Faint), and Heath Koontz (Neva Dinova) for help in the making of New Ocean, his solo debut.

The songs? A mix tape of gauzy introspection, winsome upbeat rockers, left turns into drunk-in-the-sun bossa nova, blued-eyed soul as ruptured by a fuzzed-out guitar solo, and a song that tries to change the fabric of the universe by the very frequencies it emits.

    Ocean Eyes

Loaded with amazing loops, catchy pickups, and lyrics that soothe the mind and touch the heart, Minnesota native Owl City (Adam Young ) has once again created a lush listening experience. Owl Citys trademark desire to escape in dreams, oceans and sky abound on this, his first official release, in songs such as Cave In and Umbrella Beach. Owl Eyes also continues to display a terrific wit uncommon in most electronic based music in such songs as the clap infused, bouncy Dental Care (a humorous metaphor on smiling) and Fireflies. Previously released fan favorite Hello Seattle gives the great Northwest its due with an ode to highlands, parking lots, Puget Sound and albatross. With glorious vocal harmonies (The Saltwater Room) and touching odes to love lost (Vanilla Twilight) Owl Eyes has dug more deeply on Ocean Eyes lyrically and musically than ever before.

    Indian Ocean

Best known as the lead singer for well loved alt folk band The Be Good Tanyas, Frazey Ford's new album
confirms what we have always suspected - that a great unexplored talent for soul music lay just below
    the surface.

Following up her critically acclaimed solo album Obadiah, Miss Ford returns with the lush, redemptive
Indian Ocean, fulfilling a lifelong dream of working with the Hi Rhythm Section (made famous for
backing up Al Green and Ann Peebles) in the historic Royal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee.

The album's creative cycle spanned over two years, involving two recording trips to Memphis and multiple
studio sessions with Frazey's Vancouver musicians. The iconic architects of the Al Green instrumental
sound-Teenie Hodges (guitar), Charles Hodges (organ) and Leroy Hodges (bass) lent their almighty talents
to help Frazey's songs find their distinctive groove. The end result of all of this collective creative meshing
is Frazey's folk-soul hybrid record that feels both familiar and innovative simultaneously.

Indian Ocean was co-produced and mixed by Frazey's longtime creative partner John Raham in Vancouver
    at Afterlife Studios

"Whole generations of basement-tape shenanigans are baked into their lurching, overdriven sound, alternatingly stripped-down and blown-out" - SPIN

Take the 101 north out of Los Angeles, and you'll pass by Agoura Hills, where the core duo of
the band Dub Thompson grew up. Whatever you see in that town won't readily prepare you for
the music they wrote while there, but you're free to look.

"Most everyone who's in a group who's our age lives on the Internet," says guitarist Matt Pulos.
"The kinds of thingsthat have shaped our band aren't anchored to any one time or place."

Pulos and his bandmate, drummer Evan Laffer, are currently both 19 years old, and are putting
that line of thought to the test; their musical influences travel from the Midwestern malaise of
Big Black and Pere Ubu, to Kraut pioneers Can and Kraftwerk, while bowing to the British
belligerence of The Fall and This Heat.

Recording the album while living with Foxygen's Jonathan Rado at his rented house in
Bloomington, the band had its first taste of a heavy Indiana summer, and all the humidity and
insect life that buzzes along with it. "We woke up every day, ate hard-boiled eggs and stood on
a porch," says Pulos of the experience.

Their first collection of songs slyly unties the shoes of genre and convention, shape shifts
mischievously, and tramples on the promises delivered on the name itself.
There are only eight songs on this rangy debut.

Intense blasts of hook-filled noise rock ("Hayward!"), rock steady marionette stomp ("No
Time"), hypnotic bouts of doomy poetics ("Epicondyles"), outlandishly sexy groove rock
("Dograces"), and a number of other bite-sized forays into parts unknown are made manifest
    across 9 Songs.

The vibes are strong here. Pulos sings and plays like he's working out long-standing grudges,
pulling the most sinewy tones from an acoustic guitar and ripping huge chunks of demon flesh
out of his electric. Laffer matches him step for step on the drums, an exacting presence behind
the kit who pushes even the band's more placid moments into bouts of tension. Together they
succeed in animating their musical ideas to startling, almost unnatural life. Reverb units,
keyboards, samples and processing gluing everything together, saturated in the August heat and
worn in until they sound second nature, it's like somehow you've been listening to these songs
    forever.

    Teaspoon To The Ocean

Born in Louisville, raised in Georgia, educated in Michigan and bouncing between California and New York ever since, he has spent the last decade exploring a variety of approaches to psychedelic collage. In his audio
recordings, songs, videos, sculptures, digital paintings, chalk murals & written work he has attempted to harness the humour and ambiguous poignancy specific to the experience of dreaming.

The latest addition to Schuster-Craig's unique and under-exposed body of work comes in the form of Teaspoon To The Ocean, his debut album for Weird World. The eleven acid-country pop songs of Teaspoon To The
Ocean combine the cut-up lyrical style of avant garde literary great Gertrude Stein with influences ranging from Lindsay Buckingham to Meat Puppets by way of Roy Orbison, Gary Numan and Indonesian Campursari
    and Vietnamese slide guitar playing.

At first a somewhat un-noticed Wilson brother at the beginning of the Beach Boys' career, Dennis Wilson later matured into an excellent songwriter, producer, and vocalist. His heartfelt ballads and pop gems contributed heavily to the Beach Boys' late 60's and early 70's output.

A 'target' of female enthusiasm, Dennis was assigned lead vocals for a few early novelty songs: Little Girl (You're My Miss America), Surfers Rule, and This Car of Mine. His first hit came in 1965 when Do You Wanna Dance opened the The Beach Boys Today! album and cracked the Top 20.

After the high peaks and deep valleys of the Beach Boys career during the late '60s, Dennis began writing songs (Little Bird, Be Still) for 1968's 'Friends'. Throughout the early '70s, Beach Boys fans counted on at least two Dennis songs on each LP, often tender ballads. He made his first attempt at a solo album as early as 1970, but quietly released only one single. He started to work again in 1975, recording with friend and producer Gregg Jakobsen during 1976 to complete Pacific Ocean Blue.

Though Dennis had started to work on his second album (provisionally titled 'Bamboo') even before the release of Pacific Ocean Blue, increasing problems caused several holdups.

In late 1983 Wilson drowned while diving around his boat in Marina del Ray, CA. Pacific Ocean Blue is his only complete solo effort released to the public and we're pleased to offer it in audiophile quality!

    Ocean Beach / Shock Me

Ocean Beach was originally released in 1995 and was to be the last record Red House Painters released on 4AD. Mostly performed by Mark on his own, the minimal, unornamented, reflective and semi-acoustic songs helped him to achieve the more personal album he aimed to record, capturing every sound as it happened. Out of print since, it's now been reformatted to become a double 12" LP so to also include the four-track Shock Me EP of 1994.

CocoRosie are two American-born sisters, Sierra and Bianca, who started making music together in Paris in 2003. Their first album, La Maison de Mon Reve, was released in 2004 and their second album, Noah's Ark, followed in 2005. Their third and most recent album, The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn, came out in 2007. All three of these albums were released worldwide on Touch and Go Records and earned critical acclaim both overseas and at home. The nomadic duo (currently and temporarily residing in New Mexico) spent much of 2008 writing and recording in Buenos Aires, Melbourne, Berlin, New York, and Paris, finding amazing and diverse musicians to collaborate along the way. The result is their 11-song Sub Pop debut, Grey Oceans.

    English Oceans

ATO announces that Drive-By Truckers will be releasing English Oceans in 2014. Rolling Stone released the news exclusively today calling it a "return to simplicity."
English Oceans, the band's 12th release, is an elegantly balanced and deeply engaged new effort that finds the group refreshed and firing on all cylinders. "It can go from this chainsaw rock 'n' roll to this very delicate, pretty-sounding stuff," says Mike Cooley.

English Oceans was recorded over 13 days at Chase Park Transduction Studios in Athens, GA with their longtime producer, David Barbe. Cooley fans will be happy that he brought six new songs to the sessions and this record marks the first time that Cooley sings a song penned by Patterson Hood on "Til He's Dead or Rises."

In typical DBT fashion the songs depict an array of characters. "Pauline Hawkins," is based on a new novel by Willy Vlautin. DBT's ever-keen political edge can be seen in two songs on the record. Cooley's "Made Up English Oceans" and Hood's "The Part of Him." "It's about political assholery - there's someone new playing that role every few months," says Hood. "Grand Canyon," the final song on the album, is an emotionally overwhelming tribute to Craig Lieske, a longtime member of DBT's touring family. Lieske died suddenly in January and the album is dedicated to him.

The album was recorded with a compact, retooled lineup. Jay Gonzalez, who joined the band in 2008 as keyboardist, has added guitar to his duties, while bassist Matt Patton was drafted from the Tuscaloosa group The Dexateens. "It's a very tasteful group, and when it needs to be it can be a very big, powerful, over-the-top band, too, and it can go from one to the other seamlessly," says Hood.

    Separate Oceans

With no less than a mansion, a state beach, and a three-mile
stretch of road bearing his fabled family's name, Ned Doheny
easy-glided into the 1970s on a crest of wealth and privilege.
Signposting Ned's sojourn through the LA recording industry
were Jackson Browne, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Chaka Khan,
Graham Nash, "Mama" Cass Elliot, Bonnie Raitt, and David
Geffen-each a household name both inside and far from
southern California. And while no bust of Ned Doheny
appears alongside those of his Laurel Canyon brethren in the
pantheon of classic rock, it's not for lack of songwriting abilities
    or recording chops.

Over the last three decades, Doheny's albums have slid in and
out of print on LP and CD, budget jobs without any involvement
from the self-described "avatar for casual vulgarity." Separate
Oceans examines Ned Doheny's first ten years adrift in song,
pulling together choice album cuts and 11 previously unissued
demos. An 8000 word essay is illustrated by images from the
archives of noted rock photographers Henry Diltz, Moshe
Brahka, Clive Arrowsmith, and Gary Heery, creating the first
ever overview of this unheralded marina rocker.

    Ocean's Kingdom

Marking his first foray into the word of dance, Paul McCartney has announced the general release of Oceans Kingdom, commissioned by the New York City Ballet. The recording will be released by Decca Records and Hear Music/Telarc and is conducted by John Wilson, produced by John Fraser and performed by The London Classical Orchestra.

Oceans Kingdom is the first time Sir Paul has written an original orchestral score or any kind of music for dance and is the result of a collaboration between Paul and New York City Ballets Master in Chief Peter Martins, who have worked together to present the world premiere of a new ballet for the companys 2011/2012 season this September.

Though the work is Pauls first ballet, he approached the project in the same way he writes all other music, driven by his heart rather than his head and inspired by feeling rather than specific technical knowledge. While this may have been another new turn for his staggeringly varied career to take, Paul knew it had to be influenced by his own personal experience and that he needed to create a story the audience would find equally compelling and moving.

Pauls first step was to visit the Royal Opera House to see Adolphe Adams Giselle, danced by the Royal Ballet. Afterwards, Paul met the dancers and discussed the work with them, realizing as he did so that he was still without a central theme to his work. Keen to tell a story through his music, Paul decided to focus on the purity of the ocean and within just two months, the first draft had been completed. He then went through the music again thinking specifically of the ballet itself, thereby creating a world featuring distinctive characters and a vibrant underworld kingdom. Finally Paul spent many more weeks working alongside Peter Martins to refine the work, before Peter created the choreography with the NYCB dancers.

An hour long score featuring four stunning movements: Oceans Kingdom, Hall of Dance, Imprisonment and Moonrise, the ballet tells of a love story within the story of an underwater world whose people are threatened by the humans of Earth. A potently expressive and richly varied work, the score is Pauls most challenging and emotionally complex yet. As he explains: What was interesting was writing music that meant something expressively rather than just writing a song. Trying to write something that expressed an emotion so you have fear, love, anger, sadness to play with and I found that exciting and challenging.

The premiere of the ballet Oceans Kingdom will take place at NYCBs Fall Gala on Thursday, September 22nd 2011 while the release of the orchestral score will follow a month later, here on vinyl. It was recorded in June of 2011 in London.

The artwork that accompanies the release is equally striking and inventive. Though it seems to suggest a city skyline, it is actually a digital readout of the notes from the ballet score.

Although this is his first orchestral score for dance, Paul is already quite at home in the world of classical music. His back catalog already carries four classical albums, the most recent of which was the Classical BRIT Award winning Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart); a work for chorus and orchestra in four movements that was released in 2006.

The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon (Pre-Order)

    Release Date: October 5, 2018*

The new ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN studio album is entitled THE STARS,
    THE OCEANS & THE MOON.

This album sees the band return to their
peerless back catalogue to reinterpret thirteen of their most
beloved songs with 'strings and things'. The album also features
two future classics - "The Somnanbulist" and "How Far?"

    Recorded
at The Dog House Studios with co-producer Andy Wright, the
Bunnymen hand-picked the selection of tracks for the album
from their majestic, four-decade spanning archive.

    Mac said of
the new versions: "I'm not doing this for anyone else. I'm doing it
as it's important to me to make the songs better. I have to do it."

The first track, "Seven Seas," was originally a Top 20 hit in 1984, the
third single from their classic fourth studio album Ocean Rain.

    V

Written and recorded over a period of 18 months in both Israel and England, Blackfield V contains 13 linked songs that form a flowing 45-minute ocean themed song cycle. With the pair expertly handling vocals, guitars, and keyboards, they brought in Tomer Z from the Blackfield band on drums, Eran Mitelman on keys, and string arrangements were performed by the London Session Orchestra. Blackfield V is a powerful journey through catchy melodies, lush arrangements, and stunning production, with legendary producer / engineer Alan Parsons working on three of the album's key tracks. Both musicians consider Blackfield V to be their best collaboration to date.

    Beyonce

BeyoncÉ is the fifth studio album by American recording artist BeyoncÉ.

The 14-song collection features Drunk In Love, a new collaboration with husband Jay Z; Mine, featuring Drake; Superpower, with her I Miss You collaborator Frank Ocean; and Blue, a song with her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

Every song on the album has also been given a video, all of which are included as a DVD. Grown Woman, a promotional cut that Beyonce performed during her Mrs. Carter world tour this year, appears as a bonus video, but did not make the album's track list.

The collaborators on the album vary from the indie and unexpected (Chairlift's Caroline Polacheck co-wrote and produced the slinky No Angel, Sia wrote touching opener Pretty Hurts while a mysterious writer-producer credited as Boots is listed on half the album's tracks as a co-writer) to first-time collabs with Miguel (Rocket), Drake and Noah 40 Shebib (Mine), Hit-Boy (Bey Reel) and Frank Ocean (Superpower) to reunions with Ryan Tedder and The-Dream (XO), Justin Timberlake, Pharrell and Timbaland (Blow).

Directors featured on the music videos include Detail, Jake Nava, Hype Williams, Terry Richardson, Melina Matsoukas, Jonas Åkerlund, Ricky Saiz, Pierre Debusschere, @lilinternet, Francesco Carrozzini, Ed Burke, Bill Kirstein and Todd Tourso. Grown Woman, initially previewed via Pepsi's global spot with Beyonce in April, is featured as a bonus video-only cut, directed by Jake Nava.

    Cherry Tree (Awaiting Repress)

The National's sophomore album, Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers (2003), found the band emerging onto a larger stage. Uncut called it a genuine treasure and named it an album of the year; it was hailed by Rolling Stone and the inde media; and Magnet, La Liberation (Paris) and the Chicago Tribune all tapped it for their year-end lists.

In France, the band had become such a sensation that renowned DJ Bernard Lenoir invited them to perform on his Black Sessions, following U.S. buzz bands like The Rapture and Interpol. A track from that session, Murder Me Rachael occupies the warm-blooded heart of Cherry Tree, a 7-song collection that delves the depths and brought their tension-wire rock to new heights.

Clocking in at just under 30 minutes, Cherry Tree was an EP, a mini-LP, or a bridge to the future. It features five new songs and two bonus tracks, including one of those aforementioned live performances from France inter radio and a trans-oceanic duet between the National's singer Matt Berninger and Clogs' Padma Newsome.

Vinyl edition includes download card and a third National poster which completes the triptych started on the first two vinyl National releases, the self-titled release and Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers.

    The Phosphorescent Blues

\After working with Burnett numerous times-most recently on the soundtrack for the Joel and Ethan Coen film Inside Llewyn Davis and the related Town Hall/Showtime concert Another Day, Another Time-Punch Brothers decided to join forces with the multiple Grammy Award-winning producer for their new record. Last summer, the band and Burnett spent a month at Hollywood's Ocean Way Recording laying down the songs that guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjo player Noam Pikelny, mandolinist and lead singer Chris Thile, and fiddler Gabe Witcher had written during several writing "retreats" last winter and spring.

Thile explains one of the ways the music on The Phosphorescent Blues reflects the band's view of modern life: "We often go to bars after shows or writing sessions, to be around other people for a little while. And I'd see people just like me on their phones, telling people they wish they were there, texting people who really are there. Then a song would come on that somebody likes and then they see that someone else does too and maybe they both sing it together and that moment is spiritual, some shared experience, and they are interacting in the flesh, with their fellow man. And that's communion. Many of the songs on this record dive into that: how do we cultivate beautiful, three-dimensional experiences with our fellow man in this day and age?"

Shortly before the sessions began, Thile and Witcher met with Burnett and discovered the producer had the very same things on his mind. In fact, he'd just given a commencement address at the University of Southern California on the subject of technology and human interaction. Witcher remembers, "Thile and I looked at each and said, 'This is unbelievable. It's exactly what we are writing about.' So this was a perfect, serendipitous union."

    Live In NYC

LIVE IN NYC encapsulates the true essence of Jane's Addiction in concert, mixing music with performance art. With the band as the ringleaders, they take you, along with a diverse cast of vagabonds, through an extravagant world of flying burlesque dancers, trapeze artists and carnival sideshow antics, offering stunning visuals enhanced with a visual masterpiece of lasers, capturing the incredible mood of this spectacular night. Amidst it all, Jane's Addiction, featuring frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Chris Chaney, gives astonishing performances of one classic after another including their 1988 Top 10 hit Jane Says, and live staples such as Whores and Up The Beach, and crushing versions of Ocean Size and Mountain Song.

Jane's Addiction keeps the visual delights coming as they continue through their vast repertoire of hits and fan favorites, including Been Caught Stealing and Stop!, both No. 1 singles on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, Ain't No Right, Three Days, and Just Because, which went to No. 1 on the Modern Rock Tracks and No. 4 on Mainstream Rock chart. LIVE IN NYC also features the debut live performance of their latest single, Irresistible Force (Met The Immovable Object), from The Great Escape Artist.

Jane's Addiction's unconventional and unique style could not be contained in one single category or format. They created the blueprint for what would be labeled Alternative Rock and kicked open the doors for generations of modern rock bands. And as the years have passed, Jane's Addiction continues to keep pace in a modern culture that the band has helped to expand and progress.

    Undersea

The Antlers' debut on ANTI continues the Brooklyn trio's evolution begun with the acclaimed albums Hospice and Burst Apart. Their new 4-song EP, Undersea was recorded in early 2012.

In the band's own words: "In January, after returning home from a year of touring, we started something new. We knew not what it would become and had no purpose but to see what could happen in two and a half months of recording in our studio. We started from nowhere, and inadvertently tapped into a new beginning, the despair of Hospice and the subsequent recovery in Burst Apart felt like a closed chapter, and we suddenly felt the immense freedom to change the subject entirely. We let our creative instincts lead us forward, and they brought us here, to Undersea, an EP in length, but beyond that in scope. It's an attempt to begin to express and communicate something bigger, something outside of ourselves and harder to explain.

The record begins with the dream of a peaceful flood, followed by an existential re-evaluation in the face of massive, all-encompassing change. We take a deep breath in, a slow breath out, and take stock of where we're at. Undersea is the feeling of suspension. Memories suspended in time and space, energy suspended in the air around us. It's the serenity of drifting off to sleep or of sinking to the bottom of the ocean. Time slows and stretches.

We've searched for sounds that are patient and meditative, mellow and colorful and intended to calm. There's a subtle but insistent pulse that leaves room for the music to breathe and expand. These songs are not in a hurry, and they take their time to unfold. In one sense it is familiar and terrestrial. But there's also a strange, fantastic, and largely as-yet-unknown world below the surface. The result is a kind of oceanic lucid dream of the future."

Ranked 309/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.

Although Jane's Addiction's 1987 self-titled debut was an intriguing release (few alternative bands at the time had the courage to mix modern rock, prog rock, and heavy metal together), it paled in comparison to their now classic major-label release one year later, Nothing's Shocking. Produced by Dave Jerden and Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell, the album was more focused and packed more of a sonic wallop than its predecessor; the fiery performances often create an amazing sense that it could all fall apart at any second, creating a fantastic musical tension. Such tracks as Up the Beach, Ocean Size, and one of alt-rock's greatest anthems, Mountain Song, contain the spaciousness created by the band's two biggest influences, Led Zeppelin and the Cure. Elsewhere, Ted, Just Admit It... (about serial killer Ted Bundy) and the haunting yet gorgeous Summertime Rolls stretched to epic proportions, making great use of changing moods and dynamics (something most alt-rock bands of the time were oblivious to). An incredibly consistent and challenging album, other highlights included the rockers Had a Dad and Pigs in Zen, the horn-driven Idiots Rule, the jazz instrumental Thank You Boys, and the up-tempo Standing in the Shower...Thinking. Like most great bands, it was not a single member whose contribution was greater: Perry Farrell's unique voice and lyrics, Dave Navarro's guitar riffs and wailing leads, Eric Avery's sturdy basslines, and one of rock's greatest and most powerful drummers, Stephen Perkins. Nothing's Shocking is a must-have for lovers of cutting-edge, influential, and timeless hard rock.
