Of Monsters And Men'
My Head Is An AnimalOf Monsters and Men is an amiable group of day dreamers who craft folkie pop songs. With the Icelandic group's bright, trumpeting single Little Talks winning over one blog at a time, Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir and her bandmates (co-singer/guitarist Ragnar Raggi Þórhallsson, guitarist Brynjar Leifsson, drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson, piano/accordion player Árni Guðjónsson, and bassist Kristján Páll Kristjánsson) are well on their way to becoming citizens of the world.
Nanna, who began as the acoustic act Songbird, recruited extra hands to bolster her sound for a solo show. She liked how her vocals commingled with Raggi's, so they started writing songs together and in 2010 morphed into Of Monsters and Men. As victors of 2010's Músiktilraunir, the new group earned a slot on the influential Iceland Airwaves festival later that year, followed by Seattle's radio station KEXP posting Little Talks from a Living Room Session filmed there, setting the telltale ripple effect in motion. By the summer of 2011 Little Talks hit #1 in the band's native country, and people around the world seemed to be listening to us, marvels Raggi. The band was asked to perform again at Iceland Airwaves 2011, where KEXP then anointed the group as easily the most buzzed about band.
Though their reach is growing broader, the group's appeal has remained distinct. Their music is as fantastical as it is pretty. For inspiration, they often reference random stories they've read. The chanting, tribal Six Weeks was inspired by the true tale of American frontiersman Hugh Glass, seemingly left for dead after a bear attack. As for the swelling, epic From Finner, it's about a whale that has a house on its back says Raggi on which people travel across the ocean, exploring different places and having adventures. Little Talks, explores loneliness and insanity, while Love Love Love ruefully ruminates on heartbreak. If you listen to the lyrics, they're not as uplifting, he says. But our music is meant to be fun to sing along to.
Their full-length debut, My Head Is an Animal immediately reached #1 in their native Iceland and will now see its worldwide release via Universal Records. The album features production by Of Monsters and Men, Aron Amaarsson and Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Cold War Kids) while Craig Silvey (Florence + The Machine, Arcade Fire) handled mixing duties. Royal BloodFeaturing their two singles to date - 'Little Monster' and 'Come On Over' - the album is a mixture of anguished vocals, ferocious drumming and bass that provides intricate detail as well as a rumble of rhythm. Royal Blood are the result of a lineage that stretches from present day heroes Queens of the Stone Age to Led Zeppelin, and all the way back to early blues pioneers. Their ferocious attack is the result of just two men - vocalist/bassist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher.
The album's striking cover art was provided by Dan Hillier, an artist who is acclaimed for his black line work, combining Victorian sensibilities with a fascination for animal and landscape attributes with leanings towards the esoteric.1. Little Monster

Superior Catholic FingerImport
Starting with a random snippet of evangelist preaching isn't necessarily the newest of touches in music, but putting it at the beginning of a track called Monster Lust has its own appeal. Creed's second solo album was his conscious return to the more zoned-and-stoned style of Chrome, though given how there was a fair amount of that on X-Rated Fairy Tales it would be more accurate to say that on Finger Creed just decided to let everything run riot. Tempos are often more stretched out than before, effects are tweaked and then tweaked again; in short, it's everything that a lot of rock music both mainstream and underground in 1988 was generally avoiding. With new drummer Ted Preuss helping out with returning bassist Duran, Creed leads his merry men into another fantastic bout of aggro-death-science-fiction snarl. Creed's low, vicious voice perfectly suits his abrasive feedback and more, while the rhythm section can both pound out things in a metal-punk style or just go with the flow. Who Cares is one of the best in the latter vein, with heavily flanged drums mixing with the simple but effective basslines as Creed goes off with both guitar and distorted vocals. Thick blasts of feedback that fill up the mix in both rhythm and soloing often remain the way of things for Creed; Too Bad, with its quick, almost punky verses, is a great example of him at his most crazed. The title track is one of Creed's best, a slow-and-low number with another great taking-off-to-Mars solo from the band and some disturbing rumbles down deep in the bass. Sometimes things maybe get a bit lost along the way -- The Cookie Jar descends into some aimless bits before picking up the groove again -- but otherwise Creed once again is flying high.

The Magic CityOn the original 1965 The Magic City LP, issued on Saturn, the monster 27-1/2 minute title track sprawled across side A. Ra customarily supervised the Arkestra's improvisational process via keyboard cues or hand signals. He was always in charge-hence critic Simon Adams describing the title track as 27 minutes of controled freedom. The Magic City was never performed in concert; saxophonist John Gilmore said it was unreproducible, a tapestry of sound. Although shorter in scope than side A's magnum opus, the four works on The Magic City's flip side reflect the same improvisational approach, spatiality, and lack of structure. One session outtake, Other Worlds, an alternate version of Shadow World, is included as a bonus track on side B.
For this definitive edition, historical and technical liner notes are provided by noted jazz historian Ben Young, who restored and remastered the album with his Triple Point Records partner Joe Lizzi. Both men have been recognized for their extensive work on the Grammy Nominated Albert Ayler boxset, released on John Fahey's Revenant records in 2005.
First-generation Saturn pressings of The Magic City were monophonic. A full stereo version had been issued on Sun Ra's Thoth subsidiary label sometime after 1969; however, it suffered from a technical flaw that prevented many copies of the LP from tracking cleanly through the first cut on side B. A 1973 gatefold LP reissue on Impulse featured reprocessed stereo. For this definitive reissue, Cosmic Myth Records used stereo sources which are superior to the Thoth pressing.
Cosmic Myth Records issues recordings under license from Sun Ra LLC, comprised of the heirs and rights holders of Sun Ra's music. The series is being co-produced and supervised by Irwin Chusid (Raymond Scott, Esquivel, Langley School Music Project) and Michael D. Anderson, who maintains the Sun Ra Music Archive, the world's foremost collection of original Ra session masters.$20.99Vinyl LP - Sealed Buy Now

are selling a combined 4,000+ albums a week of catalog, with all 3 titles (2 full lengths and 1 Ep) fast approaching 100k sales
apiece. The EP hasn't been out a full year and has sold over 84,000 units. While the band is on a steep climb up, it's been
something Sleeping With Sirens has worked towards for years, creating a large, rock solid foundation of loyal fans who are
eagerly awaiting the new album. For the past few years Sleeping With Sirens has been touring non-stop, with bands such as
Of Mice & Men, Pierce the Veil and Memphis May Fire, including a stint on the Vans Warped Tour. The band is currently
doing a full US headliner that has been 100% sold out and will be on the Main Stage of The Vans Warped Tour this summer
after doing a sold out UK and European Tour in May.
The band's 3rd album is their best material yet. Teaming up with Cameron Mizell who they've worked with
on a previous full length, and enlisting mixer Dan Korneff (Breaking Benjamin, My Chemical Romance,

A Fistful Of Peril (Out Of Stock)CZARFACE (Wu-Tang Clan's Inspectah Deck & 7L & Esoteric) is back! Fresh off the heels of their collaboration with Marvel Comics the trio continues to combine music and art with their latest release A Fistful of Peril.
The back story of this album begins in the summer while Deck and Esoteric were in the studio recording some new Czarface material. During this time Marvel Comics had reached out to Czarface wanting some music to soundtrack their Black Panther web series, promoting their breakout comic of the same name. This Marvel meeting spawned the lead track All in Together Now and served as the primary inspiration for a fleshed-out album that nobody saw coming. The group camped out in the studio playing beats, talking comics, video games, and pop culture....what came about was A Fistful of Peril.
Starting the album off with the ARP keyboard odyssey of Electric Level 1 is like entering the vortex of color and light in Kubrick's 2001. The aptly titled Two in the Chest showcases Deck & Eso's ability to deliver punchlines and pop culture references with ease over an exceptional bass and guitar combo. Czar Wars has the two sparring back and forth bringing that 'X-Men/Danger Room' mentality that Deck often to refers to when in Czar-mode. Psycho Les of The Beatnuts steps in on Dust while Lizard City introduces 'Czarface Pajamas'. Yes you read that correctly. The off-kilter Steranko has Meyhem Lauren and Rast join forces with Czarface as they weave their way through a mind-bending array of varying beats. Other features on the album are Conway on Machine, Man & Monster and AOTP's Blacastan on Tarantulas. Another one of the album's highlights is Dare Iz A Darkseid which along with Talk That Talk is the perfect balance of wit and humor that make up the core of Czarface.
Building on an already rock solid foundation with two critically acclaimed albums, A Fistful of Peril features some of the groups most cohesive material. The chemistry between the hungry-as-ever Deck and Eso overflows as the two mc's trade lines, humor and plenty of razor sharp lyrics over the backbone of 7L production. A Fistful of Peril in a word?
