'Once' is a 2006 Irish musical film written and directed by John Carney, former bassist for Irish band The Frames. Set in Dublin, this naturalistic drama stars musicians Glen Hansard (singer of, again, popular rock band The Frames) and MarkÉta Irglová as struggling musicians during an eventful week as they write, rehearse and record songs that reveal their unique love story. Collaborators prior to making the film, Hansard and Irglová composed and performed all of the original songs in the movie.

Hansard and Irglová's song 'Falling Slowly' received a 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song and the soundtrack as a whole also received a Grammy nomination.

Steven Spielberg was quoted as saying A little movie called 'Once' gave me enough inspiration to last the rest of the year. When informed of Spielberg's comments, director John Carney told Sky News, in the end of the day, he's just a guy with a beard

    Once Around

By day, John Stirratt and Pat Sansone are members of rock standard-bearers Wilco, but for over a decade the pair have fronted passion project The Autumn Defense. Once Around is the group's fourth full length album and finds the band's steady, creative ease percolating directly into its music. The album's tracks are plaintive but don't pander and their melodies unfurl effortlessly while also unmistakably setting the hook, not to be easily shaken. Stirratt and Sansone mine '70s AM gold and drape it in their decidedly modern sensibilities, resulting in an album that is fresh yet decidedly familiar. A bit of musical deja vu, Once Around is the thinking man's easy listening.

The Once Around LP is pressed on 180g vinyl, packaged in a full color gatefold jacket and includes a collectible 11 x 22 poster/lyric sheet featuring an original illustration by Alia Penner.

    New Once

Zac Nelson blurs the borders of pop nostalgia and experimentalism with unabashed glee throughout the brief and wondrous sound of New Once, his brand new album and first for Brooklyn's New Once flits from four top harmonies and campfire jams to psychotropic passages of blistered ambiance from one rapid minute to the next. The music mirrors the musings of a dosed poet or a Hunter S. Thompson novella, dipping from the exuberance of "Some Are This" to the melancholic duet "Her Daddy Broke" and groove thesis "Ex-Stream-Esque" with brushstrokes unfettered yet Mixed by Rusty Santos (Animal Collective, The Present), New Once is a freak matrimony of chaos and beauty fit for journeys under the sun.)

    Everywhere At Once

Lyrics Born (a.k.a. Tom Shimura) has long been known for his innovative beats, creative collaborations and soulful vocals. Here he takes a giant leap forward in song craft, incorporating elements such as pop, reggaeton and R&B. It's the rare MC who can bridge the gap between hip-hop and alternative rock, owning the crowd at Bonnaroo and Bumbershoot as easily as he trades rhymes with Charlie 2na.

With beats courtesy of Jake One, Amp Live, Trackademics and Lyrics Born himself, Everywhere At Once dabbles in everything from old-school rap, electro, 1970s soul, and G-Funk to contemporary R&B, pop, and jazz. By refusing to assign himself to any specific style within the hip-hop genre, Lyrics Born is able to transcend it. The end result is a well-rounded effort that succeeds in its many endeavors, appealing to all kinds of music fans while never sounding derivative. Honest, introspective and eclectic, Everywhere At Once is among the best hip-hop albums of 2008.

    Once Upon A Dream

From the opening One, Two, Three of their debut 1966 smash Good Lovin', The Young Rascals were the hottest, most dynamic rock group New York had ever seen. The runaway train of chart-topping singles that followed I've Been Lonely Too Long, Groovin',A Girl Like You, How Can I Be Sure, A Beautiful Morning, and the four albums they came from, permanently retired the blue-eyed soul trophy. Here they are again in all their Buster Brown-collared, soulful glory: The Young Rascals, Collections, Groovin' and Once Upon A Dream -exact replicas of the highly collectible original LPs, each one in hefty 180-gram vinyl and mastered from the vintage analog tapes. Johnny Hartman's next-to-last album (he made a record for Audiophile 12 days later) finds the 57-year-old singer still in prime form. His rich baritone voice is joined by a sextet also including Frank Wess (on tenor and flute), trumpeter Joe Wilder and pianist Billy Taylor.

The ballads range from slow to a brighter medium-tempo pace, and Hartman (particularly on such tunes as Easy Living, Wave and I Could Write a Book) shows that he still had it this late in his career, writes AllMusic. In his film The Bridges of Madison County Clint Eastwood used four tracks from Once in Every Life.

    Once More With Feeling

Endearing and electrifying... [Ought] treats panic attacks and adrenalized
ecstasy as two sides of the same pounding heart, with its simultaneous
transmissions of joy and fear, discipline and chaos, comedy and tragedy.
    - PITCHFORK (BEST NEW MUSIC for More Than Any Other Day)

Four young men on the verge of a complete breakdown and/or total
transcendence; four decades of art-rock refracted into something weird,
brilliant and new. - - ROLLING STONE

Deeply refreshing, bursting at the seams with joy and anger and less
indebted to its long list of influences than it is an entity greater than the
sum of its parts." -- ALL MUSIC GUIDE

Four-piece post-punk group Ought has been gathering momentum the
old-fashioned way, with a humble and deceptively unassuming debut
album that's been worming its way into many many ears thanks to its
combination of intelligence, authenticity, directness, simplicity and
energy; and with live performances in which the band's channeling of
genuine passion, politics and charisma are consistently connecting with
    and exuberantly galvanizing audiences.

Released in April 2014, More Than Any Other Day has been showered
with accolades. Since then, the band's mostly been on the road, racking
up live shows and ramping up the attack on their existing songbook.
Discussion of a tour-only release that would grab a couple of the band's
self-recorded early tunes and commit them to vinyl shifted by the end
of spring towards a realization that Ought wanted to update this
material to reflect how the songs have evolved on stage and in concert.
An intense weekend session at MontrÉal's Hotel2Tango in June 2014
yielded new recordings of two early pieces, Pill and New Calm Pt. 2
(the self-recorded 2012 versions of which remain available on Ought's
Bandcamp) along with the brand new, more experimental and largely
instrumental New Calm Pt. 3. The fantastic non-album track Waiting
from the More Than Any Other Day sessions (and the first tune to be
given out via Constellation when we announced the Ought signing)
rounds out this 4-song, 24-minute, 10 vinyl-only offering, suitably titled
    Once More With Feeling

As with More Than Any Other Day, the 10 was
recorded by Radwan Ghazi Moumneh at H2T, mastered by Harris
Newman at Grey Market, and pressed at the inimitable Optimal record
plant in Germany. We think it's a very fine set of tunes that brings fans
up to date with Ought's first two years of songwriting and reveals
additional facets of the band, including its ability to play with nostalgia
and balladry (Pill), feverish revival-tent testifying (New Calm Pt. 2),
and improv/abstraction (New Calm Pt. 3). Thanks for listening.

    Once More Round The Sun

Art is a cyclical beast. The same can easily be said of Grammy Award nominated hard rock juggernaut Mastodon. The group's four members recognize the importance of life's omnipresent cycles on their sixth full-length album, Once More 'Round the Sun. The band orbits around themes of loss and rebirth, twirling a sonic spiral of its signature robust riffing, hypnotically haunting soundscapes, triage of dynamic voices, and thundering seismic grooves.

The very title says something slightly different for each member. Quite literally, Once More 'Round the Sun means a year-in-the-life, explains Dailor. Lyrically, we were discussing things that happened to us recently, whereas in the past we looked further back for inspiration. It's about 365 days in this band. It was a tough and strange journey. We happened to be in the middle of completing a full rotation musically as everything else was going on.

Deeply rooted in death metal with firm beliefs in Viking mythology, AMON AMARTH formed in 1992 in Tumba, Sweden, a southern suburb of Stockholm. They began writing material with an abundance of melodies, harmonies and lyrics about Vikings and the northern gods. In March 1997 AMON AMARTH entered again Abyss Studios to record their Metal Blade debut Once Sent From The Golden Hall with Peter Tgtgren. The result proved that they were destined to become force of fury in the Swedish Death Metal scene and beyond.

Once Upon a Hell of a Time...

Enigmatic singer-songwriter and Canada's own rock'n'roll son, Matt Mays returns with a brand new studio album, his sixth, Once Upon a Hell of a Time. Matt co-produced the record with collaborator Loel Campbell (Wintersleep). This new album follows up the award-winning Coyote, which landed Matt a 2014 JUNO Award for Rock Album of the Year.

Constantly on the move, Matt recorded Once Upon a Hell of a Time all over North America with sessions in California, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New York.

"The full album has a pretty strong theme or feeling and I wanted that to come across right away," says Matt. "This is party rock for the heartbroken. And you can't leave a party short of tunes, or better yet, you can't leave the sad and lonely folks with just one song to cry to. So, why just release one song when you can leak four?!"

After departing the seminal alt-country collective The Guthries back in 2002, Matt alternated between solo projects (his self-titled debut, the faux soundtrack When the Angels Make Contact) and band projects (the now legendary Matt Mays & El Torpedo record and 2008's Terminal Romance). Following the dissolution of Matt Mays & El Torpedo in 2009, Matt released Coyote in 2012.

180 Gram Anniversary Edition in First Time Gatefold Cover with Artwork Elements Not Seen in Years

Mastered by Joe Reagoso from the Original Warner Brothers Tapes at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Mastering with Ron McMaster

Known for their ability to churn out hit songs, chart-topping albums and sell-out shows across the globe, The Doobie Brothers continue to be a force in the music business, garnering them success now for over four decades. They were also leaders in creating excellent sounding recordings and utilizing their masterful skills in the studios. Their amazing catalog of albums has truly stood the test of time.

1974 was a banner year for the band as they took their Bay Area soul and rock driven sounds to a further dimension, thanks to the hits on their fourth smash LP What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits. Produced by Ted Templeman, this multi-platinum event would go on to become one of the most successful albums by The Doobie Brothers, as the LP gave them a huge number-one single with Patrick Simmons' Black Water. Plus the hard rockin' session yielded more hits like the Memphis R&B sounds of Eyes Of Silver and Tom Johnston's classic summertime ballad Another Park, Another Sunday.

Fronted by dual lead vocalists and guitar mavens Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons, Tiran Porter on bass, and the dual drummers John Hartman and the late great Michael Hossack, The Doobie Brothers continued their trek to the top of the music charts as the LP went even deeper on album radio with more amazing hits like the hard rocker Pursuit on 53rd Street, the funk/acoustic vibe of Daughters Of The Sea, and the tour de force masterpiece Road Angel.
Even superstar friends like future Doobie Brothers Jeff "Skunk Baxter" and the late Keith Knudsen, Billy Payne from Little Feat, the legendary Arlo Guthrie and The Memphis Horns are all featured on this once in a lifetime classic rocker.

Laura Marling's new album, Once I Was An Eagle, was recorded in the
English country studio of long-time producer and instrumentalist Ethan
Johns (Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams) and Marling's lifelong friend Ruth de
Turberville on cello. Not only was the process complete in just ten days, but
Marling's vocals and acoustic guitars were recorded live in one take-in one
day. To that acoustic skeleton-which will be the sound of her upcoming
solo tour, her first sans band-Marling and Johns then added textured
layers of percussion and instrumentation. It's a hugely ambitious record that
echoes the themes of previous album A Creature I Don't Know.

This is Marling's fourth album and the precocious and preternaturally
talented British singer-songwriter has attained what sounds undeniably like
vocal, emotional, and artistic maturity. It's a record for the ages. Released at
the age of twenty-three. Her already impressive career has so far included
a 2011 Brit Award (UK Grammy-equivalent) for Best British Female Solo
Artist, two Mercury Music Prize nominations, and an NME Award for Best
    Solo Artist.

When Marling began writing the songs that would become Eagle, she'd
been "obsessively" collecting records from the year 1969. She was in the
middle of a U.S. tour to promote A Creature I Don't Know. She was about to
let go of her band, feeling dislocated on the open road, and searching for
what it meant to be an artist and a woman in the world at an age at which
her contemporaries were still in college. Eagle is a concept album, sort of.
It follows a thread of mythology, lyrically and metaphorically. An eagle and
a dove, the devil, and the sea populate her cast of characters; soundscapes
ebb and flow like an epic plot, or, for that matter, an epic road trip across
    the States.

Once Upon A Time At King Tubby's (Awaiting Repress)

    Never Before Released On Vinyl

All of those things happened up at Tubby's - Bunny Lee

'Once Upon A Time At King Tubby's' captures from start to finish the full story of the most well-known, and certainly the wittiest, of all the wars of words that the highly competitive Kingston recording scene ever produced. I Roy and Prince Jazzbo were the principal players aided and abetted along the way by an assorted bunch of onlookers and minor characters who all helped the drama to unfold. Bunny 'Striker' Lee was the catalyst that started this particular schism and the producer of all but one of the tracks.

Ever the entrepreneur 'Striker' hit the musical jackpot once again as he goaded both artists into making records that went 'straight to the head'. What had begun as a joke grew into an entire series of seven-inch singles that set the Jamaican recording scene alight in the mid-seventies. All but one of the tracks on this set were voiced and mixed at King Tubby's Waterhouse studio; I Roy voiced 'Padlock' at Channel One because the competition a get so crabbit and this gave veteran vocalist Derrick Morgan an opportunity to enter the fray. Johnny Clarke, Dirty Harry and Prince Far I also make cameo appearances.

Insults and 'head' games are nothing new in Jamaican music but this album is the first to ever compile all the tracks from one of the best examples ever of these feuds here remastered and complete with full sleeve notes featuring interviews with the main protagonists.
