The VPI Prime gets back to VPI's audiophile roots by focusing on a table that takes advantage of technological improvements to produce a quality high-end sound. The Prime is Mat Weisfeld's first solo design, taking all of VPI's collective experience to create a curvy, sexy new look while at the same time accommodating a 10" 3D arm. And that experience paid off: not only does the footprint work for looks and function, improved technology means a lower price for the 3D arm with the same sound result.

Even with the new design, some of the classics remain: an outboard 300 RPM motor housing, a classic platter, a VTA tower for vertical tracking on the fly, and a stainless steel Delrin record clamp, all built on top of new Prime feet offering improved isolation.

    The VPI Prime Turntable Features:

    • 10 inch 3D arm

    • VTA Tower for vertical tracking on the fly

    • Metal Platter

    • Outboard 300 RPM motor housing

    • New Prime feet which offer improved isolation

    • Stainless Steel/Delrin record clamp

    Genius Loves Company

    Half-speed mastered from original tapes.

The last studio album completed by the untouchable Ray Charles before his death. Charles sings a dozen duets with a dazzling array of guest artists from virtually every genre. »We cover it all,« Charles said, »from country to R&B, pop, rock and blues. I've never let them put me in a little box, and this (record) expresses that open feeling. A beautiful song is a beautiful song - and to sing with so many beautiful singers is a blessing from God.« Genius Loves Company stands as a remarkable hallmark in a remarkable career, including duets with Norah Jones, Elton John, Van Morrison, Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Michael McDonald, B.B. King, Gladys Knight and Johnny Mathis.

    Beautiful build quality

    Audiophile componentry

    Handcrafted in the USA

    Flexible cartridge loading options

Angling for an affordable yet world-class vacuum tube phono stage? The hunt is over! The spawn of the Manley Steelhead - one of the world's greatest phono preamplifiers - Stereophile Class A Recommended Component and The Absolute Sound's Preamp of the Year, has arrived. The Chinook epitomizes the sound of the Steelhead. Designed for the music lover, not the switch tweaker.

Like the Steelhead, each channel employs the two triode sections of a 6922 for amplifying duties with highly accurate passive RIAA equalization networks. In the Chinook, the signal is then directly coupled to another 6922 dual triode serving as the output driver in a White Follower configuration. This output stage circuit is our favorite because of its super-low output impedance and beefy current-driving capabilities. It can drive long cable lengths and difficult loads, tube or solid-state. Bring it on. No wimpy cathode followers here!

Setting up the Chinook couldn't be easier. There are two internal settings for optimal gain: 45dB for Moving-Magnet cartridges and 60dB for Moving-Coil cartridges. Set it and forget it! The back panel contains DIP switches for adjusting the input resistive and capacitance loading values. 31 possible options between 26 and 800 Ohms plus 47k Ohms and 7 capacitive loading choices between 50 pF and 350 pF provide flexibility to match any cartridge and fine tune the tone. Audiophile-grade and time-proven componentry is used throughout, embodying Manley's dedication to seductive sonics, combined with the reliability that professionals around the world depend on. At just about a quarter of the price of our revered Steelhead preamplifier, the Chinook's focus is on elegance of design, careful execution, efficient construction, and appreciable quality.

Designed and built in California, the Chinook exemplifies Manley's commitment to our local community and to a simple, clean, and quiet signal path. The Chinook demonstrates the supreme linearity of vacuum tubes while providing the flexibility needed to embrace any turntable setup. Everything from the most exotic 180 gram audiophile pressing to 25 cent thrift-store classics will be reproduced accurately and musically.

Don't let this one get away! Hook a Chinook!

    Encore 50 Speakers

There is no substitute for the pure musical involvement and enjoyment to be experienced when listening to the new Epos Encore 50. This unique Epos Flagship loudspeaker has been 3 years in the making but, there is no doubt the time taken to develop this exceptional loudspeaker has been well worth the wait.

Each and every part of the Epos Encore 50 has been developed by Epos engineers to a standard not previously achieved by the company. From the original design concept through to the cabinet construction, speaker drive units, crossover and final voicing, the Encore 50 stands superior in every way.

    Cabinet

It is tall and imposing yet exhibits elegance synonymous with Epos. Standing 1.2 metres high, it is deeper rather than wide and is supplied with a strong stylish painted MDF plinth to support its 50 kg weight and spread its footprint for improved stability and mechanical decoupling. Fully adjustable turned aluminium and steel spiked feet can raise or lower the speaker to adjust or tilt the level. The cabinet itself is made from a composite of birch-plywood and MDF which has been extensively strengthened internally using plywood bracing within the mid-range and bass enclosures.

To ensure the lowest colouration, the cabinet and bracing have been optimised, following accelerometer measurements and listening tests. Hand selected and book-matched real wood veneer has been chosen give the most luxurious finish on an Epos speaker so far.

Separate Bass, Mid-range and Crossover sections of the cabinet are hermetically sealed and allow the Crossover to be located in a convenient section at the bottom of the cabinet, accessed via the large, ventilated terminal panel on the bottom rear with a letter box opening in the plinth. All drive units are separately wired to the crossover section, using custom Epos solid core wire.

The bass enclosure has a volume of 43 litres. Two 220mm woofers are bass-reflex loaded by one large diameter 90mm port, positioned mid-way between the woofers and flared at both ends to minimise port turbulence and harmonic distortion. The height and spacing of the woofers has been chosen to minimise the 'floor-bounce' cancellation, optimise bass output and ensure a smooth bass-mid range transition in room. The mid-range unit is in its own, braced, 8 litre sealed-box enclosure.

    Drive Units

The 2 x 220 mm woofers and 158 mm mid-range cones are made from a Kevlar/carbon fibre/pulp mixture to combine high rigidity, with good inherent damping and feature concave dust caps coupled tightly to the cone. Frequency responses of both woofer and mid-range are inherently very smooth. They each incorporate a copper shorting ring in the magnetic circuit to reduce and linearise inductance and therefore, reduce harmonic and inter-modulation distortions at high sound pressure levels. The two woofer cones couple acoustically at low frequencies and are port loaded for extremely high power handling.

The tweeter is a specially developed version of the Epos Mi tweeter, with anodised aluminium dome, Kapton voice coil former, braided lead-out wires and Ferro-Fluid damping. The centre pole is damped under the dome and vented into a contoured, felt-filled, rear chamber to damp the fundamental resonance frequency.

    Crossover

The crossover design of the Epos Encore 50 is revolutionary. It allows the user unparalleled flexibility to compensate for individual room acoustics, without compromising sound quality in any way. The tonal balance of the speaker may be easily changed by the user to increase or decrease the tweeter and midrange output in 1.5dB steps, via an aperture in the bottom of the speaker and plinth. The crossovers use high-grade customised 'Epos' polypropylene capacitors and non-polarised electrolytic capacitors, which are bypassed with polypropylene capacitors on the mid-range and tweeter. It also uses air-core inductors, a tapped autotransformer for adjusting the mid-range output and laminated steel-core inductors. Metal-oxide resistors are paralleled where necessary to achieve high power rating and a custom heatsink is used to reduce the temperature.

The high sensitivity mid-range is attenuated by a tapped auto transformer, which doubles as the high-pass crossover inductor. The tweeter network also has variable attenuation via metal-oxide resistors. The maximum sensitivity treble position by-passes all attenuation. Passive components are mounted on a high quality, glass fibre PCB, mechanically isolated from the cabinet.

The crossover PCB's are designed to be completely, or partially, by-passed, to enable the user to configure the speaker in passive or active mode. Epos, will offer a custom DAC with programmable digital crossover to suit any make of amplification system. In short, it has unparalleled flexibility.

The ongoing development for a future user upgrade to the Epos Encore 50 will represent yet another great leap forward in Epos speaker design and will have music lovers giving it a 'standing ovation' whilst applauding this exceptional speaker.

    Plinth

A custom made MDF plinth helps to extend the footprint of the speaker and decouple mechanical vibrations from the cabinet. This makes the speaker more stable in a domestic environment and improves low frequency performance.

It also allows access to the crossover adjustment patch-board. Adjustable metal feet allow the height and angle of the speaker to be adjusted. This enables a custom skateboard to fit underneath so the speaker can be transported on wheels to a different position and then carefully lowered into place. This is supplied with the speakers.

    Magnolia Electric Co

    10th Anniversay Deluxe Edition

Expanded Reissue Of Songs: Ohia's Classic Record Gathering Together One Unreleased Song, Demos And Full-band Song Only
    Previously Available In Japan.

Includes Rare Photos From The Era In Which It Was Recorded

The hallmark of Jason Molina's career, Magnolia Electric Co., is both a confluence of all he would create and a line in the
sand to mark a shift in his songwriting approach. It was the last statement under his iconic Songs: Ohia moniker, and the
moment before he began making new legends as Magnolia Electric Co. for the next 10 years. Now- here at the end of that
decade - with Molina gone, his work gathers more weight and meaning. This expanded 10-year anniversary edition of
Magnolia Electric Co. features one never-before-released track plus many rarities. The full-band studio outtake of fan
favorite Whip Poor Will is a sweet and spare version that ended up being played far differently on Magnolia Electric Co.'s
final album Josephine (2009). Also included is the studio version of The Big Game Is Every Night. Previously only available
on the Japanese version of the album, this opus serves as Molina's thesis statement, its poetry weaving through the 20th
Century, through art and sporting culture - ultimately questioning what it means to be an American in the autumn of the
American Era. The edition also gathers Molina's gutting demos for the record, including those two outtakes. Nearly each
begins with audible sound of the RECORD button being pressed down on the tape player. They are so close and intimate,
it's hard to look them right in the eyes. But you should.

With the wailing lap steel of the album opener Farewell Transmission, Jason Molina & Company usher in a new day,
playing the sort of rock that your cool uncle rolled to back in the '70s. Landing somewhere on the radar sonically between
Bob Dylan's Desire and Bob Seger's Beautiful Loser, though thematically in-line with Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man, The
Magnolia Electric Co lies at the crossroads of working class rock, white soul, swamp rock and outlaw country

While Songs: Ohia's last record Didn't It Rain was a meditation on roots and stability, Magnolia Electric Co. finds itself
toiling with the wages of change, which is well illustrated in I've Been Riding with the Ghost, a real rig rocker that could
have easily fit on Time Fades Away, on which Molina sings: See I ain't getting better, I am only getting behind. Standing on
the crossroad trying to make up my mind. Trying to remember how it got so late. Why every night pain comes from a
different place. Now something's got to change.

This thematic preoccupation with change also manifests itself in the rotating cast of lead vocalists. While the entire album
boasts a doo wop-like line-up with five vocalists on the floor, six of the eight songs have Molina in the tall stool with the
ever-enchanting Jennie Benford (of Jim & Jennie & the Pinetops, who was also a key player on Didn't It Rain) as primary
back-up vocalist. But on two songs, new Songs: Ohia players step up to take on lead vocal duties, singing Molina-penned
songs. Lawrence Peters takes the lead on The Old Black Hen with his fantastic Merle Haggard-esque country croon, while
Miss Scout Niblett appears from the nether world of the Ohia wardrobe with feathers in her hair and casts her spell on the
Ohia rig barreling through Peoria Lunch Box Blues.

Recorded live, in its entirety, at the hands of Steve Albini at his Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago, Illinois, with the same
core back-up band that played on the Mi Sei Apparaso Come Un Fantasma Italian live album, this is the record where the
Songs: Ohia fan demographics make a radical shift from the dominant bedroom universe of the world's lonely, sensitive,
overqualified young white dudes, and finds refuge in the masses by being embraced by the world's truck drivers, sorority
chicks, and hockey players, alike. Indeed, this is the first Songs: Ohia record with more than one song that could be played
at a strip joint or monster truck show. Amid the mid-tempo slow jams, there lie some of the most upbeat material that
Songs: Ohia has recorded to date.

The VPI Avenger table was originally a project started by Harry over 12 years ago. In the process of the design the project was dropped in mid-production due to excessive demand by HR-X customers which left the design and proto-type chassis to be mothballed. The good news about the abandoned design is Harry instead shifted his focus into starting and completing the VPI Classic Turntable.

Shortly after the development of the Prime, and while cleaning out the warehouse in preparation for a dealer training event, the forgotten Avenger and its designs were re-discovered! The working name was the Tri-Pod Project. Being newly motivated, Harry has finally put in motion the table that will be his master piece! The unique iterations that had been crafted from the original process were completed as Special Editions.

This beautiful table comes standard with the Avenger Chassis and Classic Platter, JMW 12 3D Tonearm, 300 RPM Motor with 2-Step Pulley, Classic Signature Feet and an HR-X Center Weight. Does not include ADS or Periphery Ring Clamp.

In 2002 we launched a very tasty all-tube 100 watt monoblock called The Snapper® (oceanic names continuing). At $7,250 per pair for stereo playback, we also welcome you to catch a school of Snappers for surround systems.

Another brilliant design from Mitch Margolis features a quartet of EL34 or 6CA7's in a fully differential circuit topology, including the input and driver stages. This Snapper can be driven fully balanced all the way through via the XLR inputs. If you have balanced outputs on your preamplifier, this amplifier is the first Manley design to really let you take advantage of your XLR's without additional balancing input circuitry or input transformers. Very cleverly, the unbalanced RCA's can alternatively be used in this special topology with equally impressive results.

Biasing is easy with all measurement points and trimpots located on the top deck and speaker connection is made with heavy duty WBT binding posts.

Over three months of prototyping in the Manley Magnetics department resulted in a brand new output transformer design, a true 19-section incredibly complicated piece. The Snapper will crank out 100 watts at 10 cycles all day long and a full 110 watts from about 15Hz all the way up to 40KHz. Don't let frequency response specs fool you when people give you amazing bandwidth measured at... oh, five puny watts. We're talking full power bandwidth here! Continuous duty. Real muscle.

These cute little guys produce around 40 watts RMS in Ultra-Linear mode or around 20 watts in TRIODE from a quartet of EL84 / 6BQ5 tubes driven by a 6414 dual triode driver and a 12AT7EH input dual triode. The EL84 has been one of our very favorite tubes for many years, extremely long lasting and reliable, and can be considered the smaller brother of the much beloved EL34: really quick-sounding both in the bass and especially in the top end. And of course this has a lot to do with our Manley Output transformer, the same one we build for the Manley Stingrays.

We have been building EL84 amplifiers for well over a decade. The Manley-branded Tiny Triodes were much acclaimed in the early 1990's. In 1993 after the Manley company split off from VTL, the Manley Tiny Triodes underwent a chassis rework to become the Manley 35 watt Monoblocks soon followed by the 50 Watt Monoblocks. The more powerful Ultra-Linear mode operation became the standard with hard-wired Triode operation or Triode/UL switching available upon special request.

After the introduction of the Stingray Integrated amplifier in 1998, we then went back and incorporated the Stingray's new circuitry design refinements into the 50 Watt Monoblocks. Finally, big bass out of a small amplifier! So, topology-wise, the post-1998 50 watters were the monoblock version of the stereo Stingray, with the additional variable feedback feature. After the introduction of the fabulous Manley Snappers in 2002, it was obvious that we had to update our classic EL84 50 watt monoblocks both cosmetically and feature-wise. Make-over time!

Everyone was always asking us for Triode/Ultra-Linear switching. We listened to your requests and feature the Triode-UL switch as standardequipment on the MAHI's. As are the beautiful german WBT binding posts. Also we increased the B+ rail capacity in a major way. The 50 Watt monos only had around 45 Joules or energy storage in the B+ rail. Now the MAHI's have nearly 115 Joules of energy storage for the B+ rail. You can hear this improvement in the especially in the bass region: tighter, faster, deeper. More is more in this case.

The chassis design is like a mini-Snapper. They are so cute! And of course they come standard as a pair so you get.... Mahi-Mahi.

We believe the MANLEY MAHI's give a lot of value for an affordable price and we think you will be surprised at just how big these little guys sound. You have no idea how fabulous these amplifiers are.

The famous Manley Stingray stereo integrated amplifier has been renewed and refreshed. Allow us to present to you the Stingray II integrated tube amplifier with full featured RF and IR remote control. We also make another model with a built-in iPod dock called the Stingray iTube that you can learn about here.

The STINGRAY II is the next evolution from our acclaimed Stingray Integrated Amplifier, legendary in the hifi world since it first swam from our labs in 1997. Originally conceived with particular attention paid to optimal component placement for the purity and symmetry of the signal path layout, the Stingray quickly became one of our best-selling products. The Stingray II retains the same basic tube circuitry and marvelous output transformers as the original with some important improvements:

The high voltage tube energy storage has been increased vastly resulting in even more solid and coherent bass control and impact.

A headphone jack has been added to the right side facia. This jack re-routes the output from the speaker binding posts and mutes the Subwoofer output feed. This makes the Stingray II a fabulous headphone amplifier!

The 4th input source is an 1/8 (3.5mm) TRS mini jack for convenient hookup with portable devices and computers on the left front facia.

The Remote Control works with both Radio Frequency and InfraRed technologies. Using the remote in RF mode gives freedom from having to point and shoot. The RF remote is omnidirectional and works through walls and cabinets. IR capability is included for those with Universal Learning Remote Controls for consolidated integration into existing systems. The volume control, balance adjust, input switching, and display options are all on the RF/IR Remote Control. Additionally user can perform the MUTE, DIM, INSERT and STANDBY commands with the Remote Control.

Each INPUT can be individually level trimmed to match and to optimize system gain staging of various input devices.

The fancy blue LED displays surrounding the INPUT and VOLUME encoder knobs can be dimmed down or turned off entirely, after a user-settable time period, or a screen-saver random light sequence can be selected. Speed and intensity of the Starlight mode can be tweaked to taste.

All custom user settings are hard written into memory when the unit is put into STANDBY mode and thus retained if power is later interrupted.

There is even a SLEEP timer which is programmable from the remote control to allow you to drift off carefree dreaming of your musical Stingray for 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes while it gracefully lowers the volume and puts itself into STANDBY mode.

Individual sealed gold contact relays deliver the selected input into the volume control system before hitting the first 12AT7 input tubes. Following the mighty 6414 driver/phase splitter, the trusty EL84 output stage can be switched between either 20 watts of TRIODE power or 40 watts of Ultra Linear mode push-pull operation. Individual bias for each tube is easily adjusted using the trimpots and test points, conveniently located on the top surface of the amplifier. The Stingray's power supply is extra-rugged and stiff, a MANLEY hallmark. It swims with the sharks: fast, agile, fluid, and with consummate authority.

Post-volume SUBWOOFER OUTPUT allows easy hookup of outboard line-level driven active powered subwoofers. This output is after the volume control so that the subwoofer will track the volume level changes of the main speakers. The SUB OUTPUT is a line level and full frequency output that is AFTER the volume control so your powered subwoofer follows the same volume as your main speakers. These are unbalanced RCA jacks, line level. They feed the line inputs of your subwoofer, NOT the speaker jacks.

A switchable TAPE LOOP is standard. The TAPE SEND is the output of the selected input before the volume control. The TAPE RETURN can also be used as a 5th line input if needed.

RECORD OUT (aka Tape OUT) is BEFORE the volume control so you can record whatever input you have selected without your listening level affecting the level going to your recorder. These are unbalanced RCA's. It is UNbalanced RCA's and UNbuffered so check out the input Z to your recorder to make sure it won't load down the Stingray main input while it is plugged in. Usually with unbuffered record outs we recommend you only plug in your recorder only when you are actually recording...

Tape LOOP: Also known as an INSERT point, the SEND or Tape Out comes off the selector switch as the Record Out option does going to your outboard EQ or Merlin BAM unit or tape recorder and then the signal returns (RETURN) to the Stingray in front of of the volume control so you can play tunes. A toggle switch selects whether the Tape LOOP (and whatever is plugged into the Tape Loop) is active or the signal goes straight through the Stingray as normal. If you have the Merlin BAM system, order your Stingray with the Tape LOOP option.

Need more than four inputs? Get a SKIPJACK line switcher and run it into this LOOP RETURN: The SKIPJACK is perfect for adding more inputs to anything. So if you use a SKIPJACK's 4 stereo inputs plus the Stingray II's 4 stereo inputs (3 RCAs + iPod output) you'll get 8 stereo inputs total. The way to do that is to consider the TAPE LOOP: you can bring the SKIPJACK output into the LOOP RETURN, enact the LOOP ACTIVE switch and use the 4 x SKIPJACK inputs feeding the LOOP RETURN with the SKIPJACK controlling source switching for those 4 inputs. Then if you put the Stingray's LOOP switch to BYPASS you will be working with the 4 x Stingray inputs selectable on the Stingray. That gives you 8 total stereo inputs (7 stereo LINE inputs plus the 1/8 input jack).

Or if you do not want to use the TAPE LOOP feature (because you are using it for other purposes) you can use a SKIPJACK to get up to 7 stereo line inputs (6 stereo LINE inputs plus the 1/8 Line Input jack) by running the SKIPJACK's output into one of the Stingray's inputs.

NOTE: The SUBWOOFER OUT, RECORD OUT, and TAPE LOOP are all passive. The RECORD OUT comes straight off the input select switch. So whatever source is selected will show up passed through at the TAPE OUT. With the Stingray, the MANLEY team has struck a remarkably harmonious balance in design which satisfies the sonic desires of the audiophile and the rocker, the artist and the musician, the student and the master, the yin and the yang.

We have introduced half a dozen different phono stages to a very demanding market and have built a reputation merely from their performance. The Black Cube SE II comes with top notch technology that points towards higher price points, like all Lehmannaudio electronics.

The input stages used in the this device can also be found in top notch mixing consoles or in well known professional microphone preamps. The entirely passive RIAA equalization network is realized with high precision foil capacitors to realize an artefact-free transport of microdynamics and room information. The switches for gain and load settings have gold plated connectors for reliable performance.

    A true audiophile phono stage

The maximum gain of the Black Cube SE II is high enough for even very low output MC cartridges. Cartridge adaption itself is totally flexible because gain and lading can be chosen independently from each other. To top this all off, there is a slot for a custom impedance resistor, so that even the most exotic MC cartridges can be loaded adequately without having to buy expensive impedance plugs. No soldering needed.

Because of the small outer dimensions, the Black Cube SE II audio section can be placed next to the turntable. This minimizes loss due to cable length.

Lehmannaudio always pays special attention to details: the cable between power supply and audio section is shielded and ensures flexible placement of audio section and PWX power supply. The cases of both th power supply and the audio section are made of non-magnetic aluminum; additionally equipped with a top cover coated with a special anti-resonance treatment for better suppression of microphonic effects.

A brand new feature that is built into the Black Cube SE II is the entirely passive bass filter, that is a great help when tayloring the lower corner frequency of the vinyl reproduction to personal needs. 16 different filter curves can be realized.

Formed in 1991, Rage Against the Machine opened the gates of a new boundary-obliterating rock-rap musical alliance with the band's literate and politically-charged debut album. Featuring band members Tim Commerford, Zack de la Rocha, Tom Morello and Brad Wilk, Rage Against the Machine became a critical and commercial success, selling millions of copies around the world while attaining legendary status among alt-rock fans. To this day the album, and the band, remain standard-bearers for uncompromising incendiary rock.

News Of The World (40th Anniversary Box Set)

Pure Analogue Re-Cut Of The Original Vinyl LP, Direct From The Unmastered Analogue Master Mix Tapes

Presented In A Facsimile Original Sleeve

Three Posters And A 60-page Book Of Images

Original Album On CD, Plus Two Further CDs Of Recently Unearthed Out-Takes And Rarities From The Band's Archives

Brand New One-Hour DVD Documentary, Queen : The American Dream

A special box set of Queen's landmark 1977 album News of the World is set for release, marking the 40th anniversary of the original release.

Originally launched in October 1977, News of the World is one of Queen's biggest selling albums of all time. It opens with two of the band's most indestructible worldwide hits, the Brian May-penned We Will Rock You and Freddie Mercury's We Are The Champions, monumental stadium anthems which remain a staple of major sporting events all around the world to this day. With songs written by all four band members, NOTW, Queen's sixth album, set a new standard in stylistic diversity, from Roger Taylor's proto-punk blast of Sheer Heart Attack to the salacious funk-rock groove workout Get Down Make Love, to the fragrant tropical calypso-pop Who Needs You. News of the World also features the hit Spread Your Wings, the epic rock saga It's Late and Freddie's wistfully romantic My Melancholy Blues.

The new package includes the original album on CD, plus two further CDs of recently unearthed out-takes and rarities from the band's archives, one of which is a newly created 'alternative' version of the whole album - Raw Sessions.

For many Queen devotees, this Raw Sessions CD will be the most intriguing component of the new release. Mined deep from long-vaulted studio multi-track tapes, this extraordinary parallel album brings to light never-before-heard alternative versions of each of the album's 11 tracks. Every lead vocal is different, as are most of the lead guitar parts and a great many other instrumental details. Here we experience We Are The Champions anew, with many unfamiliar vocal and instrumental elements, and for the first time at its full-recorded length rather than the edited 1977 album cut. Here also is the chance to discover peak era Freddie Mercury vocals on a track that nobody outside Queen's inner circle has heard him sing before at all - Brian May's All Dead, All Dead. The original album version features May himself on vocals. Roger Taylor's Sheer Heart Attack can be heard with its original long-lost guitar intro and uncut ending. Taylor's other song, Fight From The Inside, is more remarkable in that we hear his demo vocal worked on in his home studio in preparation for the next sessions, 'homework' that all of the band members would regularly carry out. As a point of note, Taylor plays all instruments on these two recordings, except for some lead guitar. In this age of digital leaks and obsessive fan culture, there is already great excitement that these recordings are, in 2017, truly New to the World.

The third CD in the package, Bonus Tracks, features a feast of previously released but hard-to-find versions of News of the World tracks recorded in concert, for radio shows, or in alternate mixes. Included is the band's entire five-song final live session recorded for BBC Radio in October 1977, seven live performances of NOTW songs, plus rare backing tracks and instrumentals of the Queen classics We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Spread Your Wings, Get Down, Make Love and Fight From The Inside. Also on this third disc is the seldom-heard US radio edit of It's Late, making its belated CD debut, and the rowdy stomper Feelings Feelings, which was recorded during the original NOTW sessions but not included on the final album.

Another outstanding feature of this weighty 40th anniversary box is another first - a pure analogue re-cut of the original vinyl LP, direct from the unmastered analogue master mix tapes. This exceptional album collector's piece is presented in a facsimile original sleeve. There is also a rich selection of NOTW related memorabilia including three posters and a 60-page book of images, mostly previously unseen.

The package is completed with a brand new one-hour DVD documentary, Queen : The American Dream, created from backstage material filmed during Queen's 1977 USA News of the World tour. In November that year, Queen embarked on another headlining US tour. The highly respected British radio and TV presenter Bob Harris, complete with full film crew, followed their journey as part of a proposed documentary that has remained incomplete and unreleased - until now. The crew had unlimited access to the band on and off stage, in the recording studio and during rehearsals. This one-hour documentary includes superb live footage of Queen at the Houston Summit in December. We also see moments from the birth of We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions, songs that would both earn a place in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Queen : The American Dream is a fascinating behind-the-scenes insight into a young British band at a creative peak, defying the odds as they take the USA by storm.

For casual fans and Queen connoisseurs alike, the new NOTW package, with its feast of extra material, is manna from Heaven - a bumper haul of buried treasure from a world-beating band in its prime.

    III (Box Set)

Expanded Box Set Edition Contains Three Double LP Sets, Three CDs, And An Exclusive Print

Intent on creating something that contrasted their own individual projects, Moderat - the trio comprised of Gernot Bronsert, Sebastian Szary (aka Modeselektor) and Sascha Ring (aka Apparat) - complete the trilogy with III, out April 1 on Mute/Monkeytown.

III pairs an emotional pull with sensual imagery, creating dynamic sound and depth with sophisticated lyrics and themes as they direct their gaze inward. Apparat gives unfiltered insight into his personal take on the journey we call life - he is opening up, discussing his shadow, his fears and doubts. Modeselektor reach another level, develop an intoxicating energy with their distinct rhythmical textures.

One of the best parts of Moderat is their use of electronics to achieve orchestral diversity. With III, they update the songwriting tradition with an intriguing palette, born of careful attention and skill, informed by their experiences with sounds of nearly 25 years of sub-and-club culture. These three were initially brought together by Berlin's now legendary rave scene and with this as their common foundation as individuals, III signifies Moderat's maturation in modern pop and mastery of the group.

Moderat's III is available in an expanded box set edition (including 3x 2xLP, 3xCD, and an exclusive print) on Mute/Monkeytown.

Belafonte At Carnegie Hall - The Complete Concert

5-LP Set Includes Bonus Tracks Previously Unavailable On Vinyl

Mastered By Ryan K. Smith At Sterling Sound From The Original 3-Track Analog Tapes

200-Gram LPs Cut At 45 RPM, Plating By Gary Salstrom, Pressing At Quality Record Pressings

45 RPM Custom Designed Slipcase Box

Described by reviewers as "the quintessential Belafonte package,"
Belafonte at Carnegie Hall captures the excitement of
a Harry Belafonte concert at the height of his popularity. What
Analogue Productions has done with this 5LP box set release
    exceeds other vinyl versions.

We've included the entire concert. The fifth disc in this premium
set includes tracks heretofore missing from prior editions due to
space limitations. They include Belafonte's spoken introduction
before launching into the touching and tender "Scarlet Ribbons,"
    followed by the orchestral overture.

What AllMusic.com describes as "The grandaddy of all live albums,"
was an anomaly at a time when only comedy albums were
recorded outside of the studio environment. A major financial and
artistic success, the live performance stayed on the best-selling
album charts for over three years and remained in print until RCA
    discontinued pressing LPs.

The concert is divided into three sections: "Moods of the American
Negro," "In The Caribbean," and "Round The World." All the hits
are here: "Day O," "Jamaica Farewell," "Mama Look a Boo Boo,"
and others, plus calypso, folk songs, chain gang songs, spirituals,
and songs from other lands, representing a veritable best-of
package of Belafonte's first decade with RCA Victor.

Wait no more if you haven't heard this marvelous record. We've
gone all out for this deluxe reissue. Starting with premier mastering
by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog
tapes. Then plating and pressing by Gary Salstrom and the crew
at Quality Record Pressings, where the finest quality LPs in the
world are pressed. But it doesn't stop there: We've enhanced
the original studio photography and housed the collection in a
    custom-designed slipcase box.

Belafonte's mastery in front of an audience was never better displayed
then here, a mastery that resulted in him becoming one
of the most popular concert draws in history. From the opening
trumpet fanfare to the epic 12-minute version of "Matilda" (which
set a standard for audience participation), the album never lets
    up!

"The Scottish indie-pop group has managed to
build a fan base the old-fashioned way: by writing
old-fashioned songs, the kind that brim with
    melody, sensitivity, cleverness, sophistication, and
sheer beauty. It's hard to imagine groups like The
Shins, Arcade Fire, or Vampire Weekend sounding
like they do without its influence"
    - Entertainment Weekly

Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance is the longawaited
follow-up to 2010's Write About Love.
Produced and mixed at Maze Studios in Atlanta
by Ben H. Allen III, best known for his work with
Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective, and Raury,
among others, the band - who have been
listening to things like vintage Detroit techno
and Giorgio Moroder - have brought a danceparty
element into their gorgeous tales of
sensitive souls navigating a world gone awry. It
is perhaps the most inspired and wide-reaching
album Belle and Sebastian have ever made.

Given that band leader Stuart Murdoch has
    openly declared himself pro-bubblegum before,
it shouldn't come as a surprise that 'Enter Sylvia
Plath', 'The Book Of You' and 'Play For Today' have
keyboard hooks that recall Scandinavian pop
machines past and present. The filmic loves,
kitchen sink imagery and baroque touches are
still there, too, don't worry. It's all about trusting
in the restorative power of pop music. If you'd
trust anyone to write a great Europop song
about Sylvia Plath, you'd trust Belle & Sebastian.

Freddie Mercury: Messenger Of The Gods - The Singles (Box Set)

Box Set Features 13 x 7" Singles On Colored Vinyl

Includes Booklet Featuring Previously Unpublished Photos

Freddie Mercury was a man of many talents and many different sides. The songs he wrote for and with Queen filled stadiums around the globe and have rightly gone down in history, but he also embarked on a solo career that took him from the clubs of Munich and New York to the great opera houses of the world.

He was the ultimate showman, but he kept his private life away from the prying eyes of the media; a larger than life rock star who loved disco, classical music and ballet. He was a restless spirit, a true chameleon who reveled in his own contradictions.

All the different sides of this iconic musician can be found on Freddie Mercury: Messenger Of The Gods - The Singles. Fittingly released on Mercury Records for the world outside North America, and on Hollywood Records in North America, this box set brings together all 13 of Freddie's solo singles on individually coloured vinyl.

From his debut solo single I Can Hear Music, released under the name Larry Lurex, through the dance floor-influenced solo anthems of the 80s and up to his collaborations with legendary Spanish opera singer Montserrat CaballÉ including the timeless Barcelona, this is a journey through the career of a unique talent.

Born Farrokh Bulsara on the East African island of Zanzibar on September 5, 1946, the rechristened Freddie Mercury was already a star in his own mind by the time he formed Queen with Brian May and Roger Taylor in 1970. Where his band mates had studied astrophysics, dentistry and electronics at college, Freddie majored in stardom.

His first solo single actually emerged a week before Queen's own debut 7". Released in 1973 and credited to Larry Lurex in a nod to the fashionably flamboyant noms de rock of the glam era, the Beach Boys cover I Can Hear Music and its B-side, Goin' Back, were recorded as a favour towards a musical project by Trident Studios' house engineer Robin Geoffrey Cable, in 1972.

As Queen's career rocketed towards the heavens, Freddie poured his energies into the band. It would be more than a decade before he released his second solo single, the pulsating, electronic Love Kills. Originally released in 1984, Love Kills was a collaboration with famed Italian disco producer Giorgio Moroder for the soundtrack to Moroder's update of the groundbreaking 1927 silent movie Metropolis. A Top 10 UK hit, it found Freddie moving away from Queen's traditional sound, paving the way for what he would do next.

Released in 1985, Freddie's debut solo album, Mr Bad Guy, fully explored the music he had fallen in love with in the dance clubs of Munich and New York. The four hit singles released from that album - I Was Born To Love You, Made In Heaven, Living On My Own and Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow, all of which are included in the Messenger Of The Gods box set - crackled with playfully hedonistic energy, but they also hid a more serious side to Freddie. Here was a man who craved the good times but wanted something deeper as well.

Within two years, he had abandoned the sound of the clubs for the music of the opera house - though not before releasing both the epic single Time, the theme to the lavish stage musical of the same name produced by Dave Clark, and his outrageous (and strangely revealing) Top 5 cover of The Platters' 1965 hit, The Great Pretender.

In 1987, he dived headlong into the world of opera and classical music with the towering single, Barcelona. A duet with legendary Spanish soprano Montserrat CaballÉ, an idol of Freddie's, it came about after the opera star asked him to write a song about her home town.

Barcelona remains one of the most momentous hit singles not just of Freddie's career but in pop history. Not only did it lead to an album of collaborations between these two huge talents, but the title track was also chosen as the official anthem of the 1992 Olympics. That song, together with the two other singles taken from the album, The Golden Boy and How Can I Go On, are all included as part of Messenger Of The Gods with their original B-sides.

In October 1988 Freddie and Montserrat were invited by the King and Queen of Spain to perform Barcelona on the steps of Barcelona's National Palace of Montjuic at the open air La Nit festival which was staged to mark the arrival of the Olympic Flag from Seoul.

But sadly, Freddie would not live to see the fruits of his collaboration with Montserrat CaballÉ showcased at the Barcelona Olympics. He passed away on November 24, 1991, just seven months before the Games took place. The grand opening ceremony was a fitting tribute to a man who thrived on spectacle.

Messenger Of The Gods is completed by two posthumous singles, In My Defence and Living On My Own (No More Brothers Radio Mix), the latter of which became Freddie's first solo number 1 and was the biggest selling European single of the year in 1993.

Had he lived, it is anyone's guess where this most restless and protean of singer's muses would have taken him. But Messenger Of The Gods - The Singles is a towering legacy, a collection of songs which will never lose their stature of classics and will live on forever.

The soundstage of Cadenza Blue is wide open and grandiose straight out of the box. Micro dynamic details and ambience will be evident when listening to complex compositions. It reaches a very high degree of definition in the perspective, which is very present. It is true to the music with tremendous clarity, detail, and speed.

    Weird Drift

This time album features the vocals of a Vezelay, a.k.a. French singer and producer Matthieu Le Berre, who brings a gentle poised falsetto to the duo's productions along with a delicate but hopeful angst. 'Weird Drift' has a restrained and varied sense of emotional drama, but also a deeper sense of happiness, or at least the sense of becoming happy that was only hinted at on the first record. This can be heard in the breathy vocal harmonies of ballad 'Rain', in the building arpeggios, open guitar chords and skittering, trappish hi-hats of 'Boxes' or 'Lumber's industrial drum tattoo, it's sad chords set against Matthieu's anxious, delay-smothered vocals. The album switches mood with the nostalgic, dewy Rhodes and recorder of 'Liverpool', acting as a brief impressionistic pallet cleanser before the grinning bounce of 'Sultana', which has the kind of melody (and keyboard solo!) not heard from Mike since his collaboration 'Mike and Rich' with Richard 'Aphex Twin' James.
