    Meetle Mice

The music contained on these albums I wrote while in college (and a few while in high school) when I was just discovering computer music. I wrote them for fun, never planning on doing anything with them at the time or expecting them to be heard outside of my circle of friends. When I was asked to play a show on campus I thought it might be a good idea to burn some CD-Rs and try to sell them at the show.

Going through my files, I found the pieces that I liked the most, grouped them into two different collections and gave them the most appropriate/absurd titles I could think of. Many of the song titles are absurd or toy with the idea of what is offensive and what is not, many of them created as a commentary on the super politically correct atmosphere that was Purchase College in the early 2000s.

The organization of the songs was somewhat thought out but mostly chaotic: make sure the granular synth pieces are far from each other; keep the songs with beats spread out; sound collages placed amongst sine wave drone pieces. They were more like compilations of my experiments than albums of compositions.

I made only 8 CD-R copies of each in photocopied sleeves with contact paper on the discs. I sold all but 1 of each for $7 or two for $10. Explosions were going off in my head, dollar signs appearing in my eyes. Making $70 from selling CD-Rs was blowing my mind. I started selling them at every show, even though the music contained on them didnt represent what I ever performed live, since the music on Meetle Mice and Silly Hat was never meant to be performed live (except for the acoustic ensemble pieces).

The CD-Rs and artwork are riddled with mistakes. Theres digital clipping on many of the tracks; Silly Hat vs. Egale Hat was meant to be Silly Hat vs. Eagle Hat; copy write should have been copyright, etc., but I thought the typos were funny and kept it with each batch of the CD-Rs. Since I was only selling them on campus or a few shows in NYC it didnt really matter. I hated stuff that took itself too seriously so keeping my spelling mistakes glaring was important to me. And considering the music was made in a vacuum with no intention of it ever seeing the light of day, it made sense to keep all the errors in their original state (true of this reissue as well (the artwork was scanned from the original run of 8)).

I was a very different musician back then trying to figure out how to interact with sound, what could be done with it, where it could go, learning music software for the first time, and discovering many more genres of experimental music than what I was exposed to in my youth on Long Island. It was an exciting time! Since then my aesthetic has shifted, my absurdist mindset subdued and Ive been exposed to a global audience. At times I feel like these albums are skeletons in my musical closet, knowing how easily parts of them could be taken out of context by a media that loves to take things out of context. But these records were made without knowledge of that media world. Theres an innocent ignorance to them that none of my other records will ever be able to have, an ignorance lost to experience.

These albums are like seeds. They sound, look and feel very different from the fruit that theyve grown but they are still of the same tree. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoyed making them. - Dan Deacon

    Restoring Force

After massive amounts of hype and anticipation, Of Mice & Men blew all expectations out of the water with their
early 2010 self-titled debut, selling over 75,000 copies to date. They didn't skip a beat with their follow up album
    - The Flood, selling over 15,000 units in its rst week and another 9k in the rst week of the deluxe reissue
version. The Flood has currently scanned over 130,000 units. They've spent the majority of the last few years
supporting large artists such as A Day To Remember, August Burns Red, Bring Me The Horizon, As I Lay
Dying and more. They've also headlined Warped Tour as well as sold out tours in the US, UK & Australia.

    Of
Mice & Men went in the studio with producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, Bring Me The
Horizon) to record their 3rd full length, RESTORING FORCE. The album does exactly that, it restores the band
as a massive force in the scene that they've thrived in for the past years, but beyond that it showcases the band's
growth as both songwriters and performers. Frontman Austin Carlile returns and gives his most brutal and
honest performance to date while clean singer, Aaron Pauley, who is making his Of Mice & Men debut, truly
shines and will become a star in his own right. The band will hit the road immediately after the release, spending
the entire spring on the road with Bring Me The Horizon and Issues as well as performing as a headliner on
Warped Tour, etc. In making "Restoring Force" the band has created an album that will please the large
hard-rock, mosh-happy fan base that they've accrued over the years, while also allowing them to continue
growing and appealing to a wider and wider audience.

    I Love You

Lia Mice is the experimental pop project of Eleanor C Mice (nÉe Logan). After spending her teens touring Australia in punk and soul groups she lurked the Brooklyn noise scene for half a decade. In late 2012 at the end of a European tour in support of her debut solo album (originally released under the moniker Happy New Year) she became stranded in France when her return flight to Brooklyn was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Waiting for her replacement flight, she passed the time in Lyon penning songs in a friend's living room. Within a week she had decided to relocate to France for good. The songs became the genesis of 'I Love You', out October 7 on Old Flame Records - LiaMice's second solo album, and first experiment in danceable tempos, inspired by new music uncovered during in her first year living in France: in the grooves of yÉ-yÉ singles; on the dancefloors of converted boat-venues; in the theme songs of classic French cinema and on the iPods of neighborhood house parties.

Of Mice & Men are one of the largest bands on the Rise Records roster. They've spent the past couple of years growing into a well-respected rock act, earning praise from critics, their peers, and even their icons. They've sold over 830,000 albums in the US alone, they've had atop 5 debut on the Billboard Top 200, and they have been busy touring arenas and amphitheaters with the likes of Linkin Park, Slipknot,Marilyn Manson, Rise Against, A Day To Remember and Bring Me The Horizon. They've graced the covers of multiple publications(Revolver, Alternative Press, Kerrang!, Rock Sound, Metal Hammer, Blunt), and have constantly been able to nurture and develop a rabid following that feels more like a family than a fan base.

The band took a recent break from touring and recorded two brand new singles, Unbreakable and Back To Me. Both songs were produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Daughtry, All American Rejects), and the result is 2 very powerful tracks that have quickly become fan favorites. Verdugo Hills Remixes

Following the release of 2012's Verdugo Hills, the second album from the Japanese electronic-pop songstress and Mice Parade alum Caroline, a slew of her peers graciously answered Temporary Residence's calls for remixes and reinterpretations of every song from the acclaimed album. Not surprisingly, the results are more successful and less ephemeral than most remix albums, a testament not only to the ingenuity of the various remixers on deck, but also Caroline's weightless, angelic vocals which transcend even the most jarring sonic manipulations.

    Wayfaring Strangers: Lonesome Heroes

The standard route for popular music, songwriter to publisher to label to artist, survived the '60s only to be overrun by a generation of folkies agog at giants strumming in the rearview. They were inspired by iconoclasts from Charley Patton to Woody Guthrie, artists entirely reliant on one guitar, one voice, and ones own words. But our heroes were not the agrarian luddites of yesterfolk. They cheered when Dylan plugged in and were rapt when Lennon and McCartney modernized songcraft, making the studio process justas important to song creation as setting the chords and words down.

The resultant work wasnt as readily reduced to words on paper as the Broadside pages that preceded them, success relied heavily on the way these songs were captured and transmitted: the sound of the room, the turn of a phrase, the odd way a piano got miced, or the way a guitar fell perfectly out of tune. As long as the end result was somber, dark, and meditative, it didnt matter if it was a conscious choice or a happily unhappy accident.

Each of our lonesome heroes began his journey from a wildly divergent place. Some of the stops may been similar, but each was made in different ways at different times for different reasons. All these travelers somehow found their ultimate destination on this disc. From artists who never played one professional gig to those that never stopped playing professionally, whose only shared experience is a journey set upon with no known end, sharing their thoughts, emotions and dreams with a lonely few along the way.

Wayfaring Stranger: Lonesome Heroes is the male singer/songwriter companion to Numero 008, Wayfaring Strangers: Ladies From The Canyon and Numero 018, Wayfaring Strangers: Guitar Soli.

Features 17 rare tracks by folk unknowns Jim Schoenfeld, Jim Ransom, Richard Smyrnios, Tucker Zimmermann, Kieran White, Les Moore, Rob Carr, Jack Hardy, George Cromarty, Jay Bolotin, Tony Trosley, Roger Lewis, Tim Ward, David Kaufmann, John Villemonte, Bob Brown and Robb Kunkel.

This deluxe 2LP gatefold set also includes 40 page booklet with extensive photo gallery, essay, artist bios and complete lyric sheet.

    Verdugo Hills

Five years ago, Caroline Lufkin made ripples across the Japanese pop music scene when she famously walked away from a lucrative major label contract that virtually guaranteed the same kind of bright-light super-stardom that made her sister Olivia a household name in Tokyo. Instead, Caroline took the long way; a slow, creatively fulfilling path where she writes, performs and records her own songs and owns her every success or failure, while taking pride in both.

Verdugo Hills builds upon the same minimalist, angelic pop that made her debut album, Murmurs, so striking. Having spent the past several years as a full-time member of the small musical army that is Mice Parade, Caroline has mastered the art of mingling a dozen or more distinct sounds to form miniature symphonies for the soul that can turn from an icy chill to a warm glow in the span of a few breaths. Her lyrical delivery and subject matter have matured enormously, exposing new depths to her emotional range to accompany the deceptively subdued mix of acoustic and electronic instrumentation.

Ultimately Verdugo Hills succeeds emphatically in giving electronic music a comforting heartbeat and a contemplative soul, feats Caroline were unlikely to accomplish had she taken the straight road to overnight fame and fortune. She has become an intriguing and understated figure in the world of electronic pop music, accelerating the genre with startling, unexpected beauty while leaving lasting impressions on all of us who are along for the ride.

Its been more than two decades since the frontman for the groundbreaking R&B/soul outfit Sly & The Family Stone has released a full album of new recordings. In that time, Sly Stone has become one of musics most elusive recluses, making live appearances on rare occasions at select events, including the 2006 Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony, and all the while his legend has grown and grown.

In recent years, Stone, the writer of some of the most timeless and influential gems in music history such as Dance To the Music, Everyday People and Family Affair, has wrestled with demons both personal and professional, but never allowed the inspirational flame to die out completely.

Now, Sly returns with brand new versions of classic songs from the Stone family repertoire such as Dance To the Music, Everyday People, Family Affair, Thank You (Falentinme Be Mice Elf Agin) plus 3 previously unreleased tracks aided by the likes of Jeff Beck, Ray Manzarek, Bootsy Collins, Ann Wilson, Carmine Appice and Johnny Winter.

Art should confront and challenge convention, but Crown The Empire take it one step further. Since
bursting onto the scene in 2012, Crown The Empire have shown no signs of slowing down on their
undeniable course toward world domination. They have sold over 175,000 albums in the US over 2
releases, and have toured the world repeatedly with the likes of The Used, Of Mice & Men and Pierce
    The Veil.

Crown The Empire are back with their new album, Retrograde, the highly anticipated follow
up to the band's previous release, The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways", which debuted at #7 on the
Billboard Top 200 with over 25,000 copies sold in its first week.

"Retrograde" is Crown The Empire at their best, each song maliciously hand crafted. When you break it
down, Crown The Empire are storytellers for a new generation; nothing is a mistake. Every detail,
element, structure, chorus, and breakdown is planned, and the album flows like the plot of a theatrical
    film.

There's a reason why magazines have been putting Crown The Empire on their covers and there's a
reason the band gets off ered multiple tours each quarter: it's because fans truly believe in the band and
care about what they're doing. Their fan base is a cult-like army, who truly believe and support them. It's
what separates Crown The Empire from everyone else, and it's why Retrograde is going to keep the
    band on their upward trajectory.

    Feel (Awaiting Repress)

The LP version of "Feel" comes with a bonus CD.

Sleeping With Sirens has turned into a monster of a band. As the band prepares to release their 3rd full length album, they
are selling a combined 4,000+ albums a week of catalog, with all 3 titles (2 full lengths and 1 Ep) fast approaching 100k sales
apiece. The EP hasn't been out a full year and has sold over 84,000 units. While the band is on a steep climb up, it's been
something Sleeping With Sirens has worked towards for years, creating a large, rock solid foundation of loyal fans who are
eagerly awaiting the new album. For the past few years Sleeping With Sirens has been touring non-stop, with bands such as
Of Mice & Men, Pierce the Veil and Memphis May Fire, including a stint on the Vans Warped Tour. The band is currently
doing a full US headliner that has been 100% sold out and will be on the Main Stage of The Vans Warped Tour this summer
after doing a sold out UK and European Tour in May.

The band's 3rd album is their best material yet. Teaming up with Cameron Mizell who they've worked with
on a previous full length, and enlisting mixer Dan Korneff (Breaking Benjamin, My Chemical Romance,
Mayday Parade) and masterer Ted Jensen (Green Day, Bon Jovi, The Offspring) to complete the
team creating the album, Sleeping With Sirens was able to deliver their best, most heartfelt album,
sonically more superior than anything they've done to date. With tracks like the radio friendly single
Alone (featuring rapper MGK) to the hard hitting anthems like Congratulations (featuring Matty
Mullins of Memphis May Fire), Feel is sure to instantly please their current fans while winning over
    countless new people!

    Afraid Of Heights

Straight from the dungeons of L.A., Wavves deliver Afraid Of Heights, their fourth album. Now a duo consisting of guitarist Nathan Williams and bassist Stephen Pope, they sound bigger, brasher, and shockingly more professional than ever on Afraid Of Heights which positions the band to take their rightful place amongst the pop-punk gods. You know the story by now. Bored dude in his parents' tool shed-turned-room with no insulation and a record stuck to a hole in the wall to keep the mice out turns on a four-track recorder, fucks around and ends up with two of the oddest, noisiest, and downright catchiest albums in recent memory.

The product of more than a year of writing and recording, Afraid Of Heights expands the Wavves sound while remaining true to the band's original vision - it was created with absolutely no label involvement, a specter that nearly derailed King Of The Beach. Working with producer John Hill (known for his work with M.I.A. and Santigold, as well as with hip-hop acts such as Nas and the Wu-Tang Clan), the band found a willing party in creating what they felt was the truest expression of what they wanted. As for the Afraid Of Heights sessions themselves, Williams paid for them out-of-pocket, explaining his reasoning with, In doing so, I had no one to answer to. We recorded the songs how and when we wanted without anybody interfering, and that's how it's supposed to be.

Lyrically, Williams took the focus less off of his own melancholy and out into the world, with songs that dealt with crooked preachers (Sail To The Sun), relationships (Dog) and killing cops (Cop). Even when he reaches outside his own damaged psyche, Williams is still making Wavves songs, saying, The general theme of the record is depression and anxiety, being death-obsessed and paranoid of impending doom. I feel like the narration is almost schizophrenic if you listen front to back; every word is important, even the constant contradictions and lack of self-worth. That's all a part of this record-questioning everything not because I'm curious, but because I'm paranoid. That paranoia manifests itself on many of the album's best tracks, such as the spacey drones and bummazoid vibes of the Weezer-referencing, getting-drunk-because-you-can't-bring-yourself-to-care-vibey Afraid Of Heights, or the string-aided I Can't Dream, which rounds the record out with the optimistic, I can finally sleep, before subverting itself with, But I can't dream. With their biggest and boldest-sounding record yet, Wavves might have finally come into their own, a fully-realized punk rock force in both sound and vision.

    Silly Hat Vs. Egale Hat
