Centipede HzCentipede Hz was co-produced by Animal Collective and Ben H. Allen III and recorded at Sonic Ranch studios in Tornillo TX (outside of El Paso) by Ben H. Allen III and mixed at Maze Studios in Atlanta, GA by Ben H. Allen III.
Centipede Hz is the tenth full length Animal Collective album following the widely celebrated Merriweather Post Pavilion (2009) and also the first since Strawberry Jam (2007) to feature all four original band members: Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Geologist and Deakin. As the album's opening bars of drum crashes and radio interference on "Moonjock" immediately make clear, having returned as a four piece, Animal Collective have made their most widescreen and fully realized music to date.
Once touring for Merriweather Post Pavilion was concluded at the end of 2009, Animal Collective released their visual album Oddsac on DVD. The film was also screened internationally at theaters and film festivals. The band created Transverse Temporal Gyrus, an installation for the Guggenheim Museum in New York City and subsequently released a 12" single of the performance and launched a website to distribute music from the event. The period between Merriweather Post Pavilion and Centipede Hz also saw the release of two solo albums: Avey Tare's Down There (2010) and Panda Bear's Tomboy (2011).
Regrouping as a four piece with original member Deakin once more in the band, Animal Collective reconvened in their native Baltimore in January-March of 2011 to write material for Centipede Hz with a further session later in the year. Rather than swapping ideas over the internet and file-sharing Animal Collective were, for the first time in many years, exchanging ideas in the same room by playing live instruments.
As a result Panda Bear returned to playing a sit-down drum kit for the first time since Here Comes The Indian (2003) and Geologist began playing live keyboards again. Along with using some of the samplers and sequencers with which they had previously been writing, the sound of Centipede Hz draws on the dynamics and energy of Animal Collective playing together as a band. The return of Deakin is at its most marked in "Wide Eyed," a song that he wrote, featuring his first ever lead-vocal performance and whose title captures the mood of Centipede Hz perfectly.
Part of the inspiration for Centipede Hz included the band's memories of growing up listening to station announcements and commercials on the radio and imagining the after life of radio signals from the past, forgotten transmissions that are now lost in space and broadcasting music from other planets for other life forms. This is reflected in the sound of Centipede Hz, which features the white noise of radio interference and buried frequencies overlaid with the band's peerless melodic sensibilities and compositional methods. The result is a panoramic set of songs that shimmer with the confidence and wonder of Animal Collective's unique inner logic and the luminous warmth of their sound world.
Animal Collective: Avey Tare (vocals, synthesizers, piano, guitar, sampler, sequencer, percussion); Panda Bear (vocals, drums, sampler, percussion); Deakin (vocals, baritone guitar, sampler, percussion); Geologist (sampler, synthesizers, piano, percussion) with: Dave Scher (Beachwood Sparks, All Night Radio) lap steel guitar on "Today's Supernatural," "New Town Burnout," "Pulleys," and "Gotham," and melodica on "Rosie Oh" and Riverside Middle School Choir, which sings on "Father Time" and "New Town Burnout."1. CrosswordsOn his Crosswords EP, Panda Bear, aided on studio production duties by Sonic Boom, bequeaths five fresh and finely observed body-pop wonders - three new songs: 'No Mans Land', 'Jabberwocky' and 'Cosplay' - and two re-castings of previous ore - 'The Preakness' - previously heard in spirited demo form on 2012's Tomboy LP boxset - and the whole shebang treasure-topped with a fresh take on his Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper LP soul tour de force 'Crosswords'.1. Merriweather Post PavilionMerriweather Post Pavilion is the ninth full length album from Animal Collective, recorded with Ben Allen in Oxford, Mississippi. Animal Collective have made a universal record that makes the same beautiful sense on headphones by day, or soundtracking the small hours of the morning, or stretched out in a field on your back. Whether a state of mind, or a rest stop somewhere along the way, Merriweather Post Pavilion magnificently redefines your sense of direction.
Located in different continents, Avey Tare, Panda Bear and Geologist, having operated in their unique way since their inception, have now arrived at a point where their innerlogic makes perfect sense on the whole. Listening to Merriweather Post Pavilion you'll hear echoes of everything they've recorded to date, especially the mesmeric and melodic repetition of Panda Bear's last solo opus Person Pitch. The whoops and hollers that have previously held together the sublime, chaotic urgency of their earlier work, now signal the calm sense of euphoria and wonder that ripples through this wide eyed record.
Throughout Merriweather Post Pavilion, Panda Bear and Avey Tare sing in a newfound clarity, enraptured by the possibilities of the sound they're making. This record feels like a defining moment for Animal Collective; linear, wild and beautiful, it's the sound of a band waiting, with arms open wide, to tell you about what they've found. And it's something pretty special.1. In The Flowers

St. Louis beat maker Andrew Jernigan a.k.a Phaseone gained
quite a following after his early remixes and mixtapes began
creating buzz around the internet in 2009. These releases
included noteworthy cuts of Animal Collective, Panda Bear,
and Burial. That same year Phaseone released his debut LP
"Thanks But No Thanks" as a free download showing that he's
not too shabby at creating his own tracks as well. Jernigan
recently relocated to Brooklyn, NY to work on his forthcoming
LP "If I Tell U" due out spring 2013 on Adult Swim's Williams
Street label (home to Killer Mike's critically acclaimed R.A.P.
Music LP and Metalocalypse's Dethklok). With this new
release Phaseone further expands the boundaries between
producer and artist creating a swirling universe and unique
aesthetic that is distinctly his own.Blood Spirit I

Panda Bear Meets The Grim ReaperDomino is pleased to announce the release of Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper, the
fifth studio album from Animal Collective founding member and critically acclaimed solo artist Noah
Noah Lennox, a.k.a. Panda Bear, has had a far-from-quiet few years with the release of his fourth solo
record, 2011's Tomboy. Since the breakout success of 2007's universally-adored Person Pitch, each new
Panda Bear release is a highly anticipated event, and a high-profile Daft Punk collaboration later ("Doin'
It Right," from 2013's Random Access Memories), that's more the case than ever.
Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper finds our hero leaving the airy minimalism of Tomboy and unpacking
his sonic toolbox again, rearranging the multitude of his disparate influences into the ever-morphing
concoction he refers to as "the soup." Old school hip-hop textures and production techniques meld with
the intuitive, cyclical melodies he has become known for a sound that is at once dense and playful.
The album signifies a pivotal point for an artist who has proven he can continue to evolve while
remaining at the top of his game. As Noah says, "It's sort of marking change - not necessarily an
absolute death, but the ending of something, and hopefully the beginning of something else."1. Sequential Circuits

Young PrayerNoah Lennox, a.k.a. Panda Bear, a.k.a. one-fourth of the founding members of Animal Collective, has had a far-from-quiet few years since the release of his fourth solo record, 2011's Tomboy. Since the breakout success of 2007's universally-adored Person Pitch, each new Panda Bear release is a highly anticipated event, and with a high-profile Daft Punk collaboration later, that's more the case than ever. But if the title of his fifth solo album as Panda Bear seems to portend certain doom, think again. Taking his inspiration from '70s dub duo albums like King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown and Augustus Pablo Meets Lee Perry & the Wailers Band, Panda Bear prefers to frame his latest work as less of a battle and more a collaboration. "I see it [as] more comicbooky, a little more lighthearted," he says. "Like Alien Vs. Predator." Young Prayer is the second full-length solo album by Panda Bear. It was recorded in Panda Bear's childhood home in 2002 by Deakin and further produced by the mysterious Animal Collective brothers known as Come Winter. HollinndagainAt the beginning there were two of them - Avey Tare and Panda Bear - banging drums and tweaking synths in their bedrooms, singing strange and sometimes heartbreaking songs about imaginary friends and childhood pets. Carried along by washes of squalling feedback, the music was noisy, and it was weird, but it was, at heart, pop music. This was the start of Animal Collective. For fifteen years Dave Porter (Tare), Noah Lennox (Bear), Brian "Geologist" Weitz and Josh "Deakin" Dibb have been rewriting the musical map, their line-up and aesthetic shifting with each astonishing release as they continue their pursuit of a new psychedelia.
Their wild path has taken them from cramped concrete basement shows and forest floor singalongs to immersive installations at the Guggenheim and performances to millions on national television. So where now from here? Hollinndagain is the third full length collection of songs by the band. This time including members Avey Tare, Panda Bear and Geologist. It is a document of songs that were performed live in the first half of 2001. The first 3 are from an on-air performance on WFMU, and the latter four are from live shows around NYC and on their first tour with Black Dice. No studio recordings were ever made with the exception of Lablakely Dress, which originally appeared on Danse Manatee. It was originally released in a limited edition of 300 handpainted LPs on St. Ives Records (a Secretly Canadian imprint). It was then reissued in 2006 by Paw Tracks as PAW12.1. I See You Pan

HeartlandThe third Final Fantasy full-length and the first for Domino, Heartland is the product of nine months work in four separate countries. The release is a fully orchestral record, designed to exist simultaneously as an album, a 45-minute piece of orchestral music and a set of songs for looped violin and voice. Work began in earnest in November of 2008, when Owen Pallett and Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara flew to Reykjavik to work at The Greenhouse, Valgeir Siggurdsson's studio (Bjork's Medulla, Bonnie Prince Billy's The Letting Go) with engineer Mio ??rrison at the board. The orchestra was recorded in January of 2009, in Prague, with the Czech Symphony. Other guests include Matt Smith (Nifty), Reg Vermue (Gentleman Reg) and Nico Muhly. Rusty Santos, who produced Animal Collective's Sung Tongs and mixed Panda Bear's Person Pitch, was taken on as mixer.1. Midnight Directives

Personal ComputerSilicon is the new project from New Zealand via Hawaii multi-instrumentalist Kody Nielson. Personal Computer, the debut album, is a seductive electronic pop record that pits Nielson's brilliant soul, funk and disco influenced songwriting against a backdrop of extra-terrestrial noir sonics, calling to mind the varied likes of Flying Lotus, Panda Bear and Portishead in the process, as well as that of Unknown Mortal Orchestra - the project of Nielson's brother and former band-mate in The Mint Chicks. At the heart of Nielson's noir-electronica is a questioning of how the natural can ever again match the arousing constellation of this blissful synthetic. The album is bombastic and gripping, yet consistently groomed. His main-frame psychedelia collates all the fragments of himself and masterfully sticks them back together.1. Personal Computer

AnCo's 11th album overall, Painting With follows 2012's Centipede Hz. While that album saw band member Deakin rejoin the lineup after skipping out on 2009's Merriweather Post Pavilion, he's once again absent on Painting With. In place of Deakin, Avery Tare, Panda Bear, and Geologist were joined by the likes of John Cale and Colin Stetson.
The trio started working on the album earlier this year with the goal of creating "really short songs: no B.S, get in, get out material " according to Avey Tare. The result is 12 tracks concerned with and inspired by "art (Cubism, Dadaism, and the distorted way those artists viewed the world) and the human experience, and the meeting of both."
Painting With will be released with three different covers, each featuring a painting of one of Animal Collective's members done by Brian DeGraw.1. FloriDada

Gala Drop IIThe group's Balearic sound entered the wider dance music consciousness with Overcoat Heat, a 2010 release for Golf Channel. Since then, they collaborated with Ben Chasny of Six Organs Of Admittance and toured with Panda Bear. For II, Gala Drop have brought Detroit expat Jerry The Cat into the fold. He's known for his collaborations with Arttu on Clone Royal Oak and has also worked with Motor City mainstays Funkadelic, Parliament, Derrick May, Moodymann and Theo Parrish.
Jerry draws comparisons between Detroit's mishmash of music scenes and what he's found in Lisbon. He says: Detroit wound up a city with so much contamination between styles, from Motown to garage rock and then the birth of techno. Lisbon felt like that when I moved here too, I was going out to a techno club at the weekend but going to see a garage rock show or some free jazz band in the week. The post-Millennium Lisbon has been very fertile musically speaking. His bandmate Nelson Gomes also operates Príncipe, the label that brought DJ Marfox and his cohort to the world.

My Human Wears Acedia Shreds (Discontinued)Limited Edition 10 paste-on sleeve
Exclusive artwork by Dimlite
If Dimlites recent Prismic Tops EP served as a stunning
reintroduction to one of electronic musics most underrated talents,
then My Human Wears Acedia Shreds is a warning to listeners and
peers alike: keep up or be left behind. This quartet of songs finds the
Swiss producer creating wide-eyed and progressive music that
synthesises free jazz, prog- and kraut-rock, and much more. There is
no one else quite on his level, no one who inhabits a world so
complete and unique.
While he built his reputation with a string of pioneering releases on
Germanys Sonar Kollectiv label that took hip-hop as their starting
point, these days Dimlite is more Soft Machine than drum machine, a
kindred spirit of purveyors of avant-pop such as Panda Bear, and the
playful prog giants of the past. This quartet of songs contains a
richness that makes these his most satisfying compositions yet. Just
check Metal Snake Rider, an expansive opus packed into just over
three minutes of non-stop invention.
At times its even pretty, though Dimlite seems uneasy about the
beauty he creates, never allowing anything too perfect to take shape
before clipping its wings or trampling it back into the dirt. Its this
tension in his music that makes it so captivating: a constant tussle of
wills between the dreamer and the cynic, the traveller and the
trapped. Just check Loins, in which long-time collaborator
Misel Quitnos drums thump out a brutish ode to Can while
Dimlites celebratory harmonies are taunted by the anxious
squall that lurks beneath. Though ask its creator and hell tell you
simply, its about loins and using them properly.
By the time you have adjusted to the dream-world of My Human
Wears Acedia Shreds Dimlite will pull the plug, dropping you
back into your monochromatic doldrums. Its OK though. As you
unravel the secret code in EP closer Gone-O-Tron, youll know
its not forever.1. Kitty Cradle Fog
