All Ears, All Eyes, All The Time

    180 Gram, Coke-Bottle Colored Vinyl

First Time On Vinyl, Limited To 500

Stones, Hendrix, and Tom Petty to legendary indie-rockers like Weezer, the Pixies, Dinosaur Jr.. Pavement, Superchunk, and Spoon to even left-of-center rap acts like A Tribe Called Quest, it's a record that ventures far beyond the clich'd constraints of the emo pigeonhole in which Piebald are so often mistakenly placed (note the jaunty piano romp Part Of Your Body Is Made Out Of Rock, the dream-rock sea-shanty All Senses Lost, or the twee, Shins-like powerpop of Giving Cup). Says Travis of Piebald's all-encompassing musical styles, We don't really feel we're an emo band; we're really more just like hippies that use distortion! Most of the time we're put in a category with emo bands, but we don't really hear the real connection. So we don't like that we're called that ' but then again, we don't really like that any band is called that.

Although All Ears was produced by Paul Q. Kolderie (Cave-In, Dinosaur Jr., fireHOSE, Hole, Pixies, Radiohead), Piebald were admittedly still worried about whether they could top their previous landmark effort, We Are The Only Friends We Have. You always want to like your new record more and feel that it's better than your last one, otherwise you wouldn't want to put it out, says Travis. But Paul was really excited about the new songs, and all the people at the studio were excited, and it felt like we were on the right track, even though we didn't know for sure. And in the end, I think we at least did comparably musically. You still get what you need from a Piebald record. It's different, but you still get sufficiently rocked.

    Gone And Goner

No Sleep Records presents the first full-length album from TS & The Past Haunts spearheaded by Piebald's own Travis Shettel. During March of 2010, TS and the husband and wife rhythm section of Ben and Heather Heywood trekked up to Sacramento, CA to track what they presumed was going to be the origins of a new album. With Robert Creek at the boards, the album was tracked almost entirely live in a five-day span (only keys, percussion and vocals were overdubbed). There was not a single guitar overdub throughout the entire album, which TS has claimed had never happened in his entire recording history.

The band's live performances give the album an energy that doesn't normally see its way onto conventional studio albums rendering Gone & Goner as one of the best live performances in the long player form. Themes spread thick throughout the album including the eccentricity of jury duty, bus rides in the wee-hours of the morning, living life to the fullest and last but not least, unquenchable lust. What we have here are 10-songs of ruinous energy with harmonious overtones and, all in all, one hell of a ride.

    Tomorrow, I'll Miss You

Worship This! is emblematic of all that is Northeast Ohio and highlight the blossoming and resurgent rust belt punk scene. Cut from the same cloth as Leatherface, Jawbreaker, Piebald, and The Cardinal Sin, WT! is an unabashedly and unrelenting emotional force, exploring issues of personal regret, but also providing a sense of reinvigoration and redemption that only emerges after you've cut the dead weight from your life.

    Fairweather

Washington DC's Fairweather will release their third full-length album, and first album in over a decade, in 2014. The self-titled album will be released through the band's longtime label, Equal Vision Records.

Fairweather is the most straightforward thing we've ever recorded. Our goal was to make this sound like us playing our songs together, no fancy mixing or overdubs, and no overly complex song structures. On Lusitania, we embellished quite a bit - and this record was done with almost the opposite intent. It probably contains our fastest and most aggressive material to date as well. To me, it sounds the most like us of anything we've ever done. It's loud, urgent, and human, shares Green.

Lyrically and conceptually, I'd say the record is much about acceptance - about one's place in life, about how you exist and live, and coming to grips with certain aspects of your functioning as a person, for better or for worse. There's reflection in the record for sure, looking back on choices and habits, taking stock of what's behind you, and thinking of how it informs you of what's ahead.

Prior to disbanding in 2003, Fairweather released two full-length albums, If They Move Kill Them and Lusitania, and a four song EP, Alaska. Over the years, the band has toured with the likes of Thursday, Brand New, Recover, Dashboard Confessional, Piebald, Strike Anywhere, The Movielife and many more.

Fairweather is comprised of Jay Littleton (vocals), Ben Green (guitar, vocals), Peter Tsouras (guitar, vocals), Ben Murphy (bass) and Shane Johnson (drums).
