Dark Side Of The Moon (Awaiting Repress)

Ranked 43/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Remastered From The Original Analogue Tapes By James Guthrie, Joel Plante, And Bernie Grundman

Pink Floyd's most successful and singularly defining album is here to stay. The Dark Side of the Moon has sold over 40 million copies worldwide since its release in 1973, and it shows no signs of letting up. With lush, immaculate production and sweeping instrumentals, The Dark Side of the Moon is unrivaled in sonic brilliance. The complex textures found within have captivated audiophiles for over thirty years.

With lyrics about seemingly mundane details set against dreamy, atmospheric backdrops, the songs on The Dark Side of the Moon achieve a truly emotional response. Performances are not virtuosic, but they are brilliant nonetheless and were likewise brilliantly recorded. Abbey Road Studios engineer Alan Parsons and Pink Floyd made use of some of the most advanced techniques available at the time to craft a sound that was innovative yet entirely classic, by any sense of the word. Swirling organs, mellow drums, and spacious guitars are signature sounds that have been inextricably linked with Pink Floyd's magnificent songwriting.

The Dark Side of the Moon is a peerless entry in the annals of classic rock history. No record collection should be without this multi-platinum masterpiece.

    Wish You Were Here

Ranked 209/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

On its release in 1975 Wish You Were here topped the album charts in both the UK and the US. Reflecting the band's thoughts of the time on the music business, and exploring themes of absence, Wish You Were Here contains the classic cut Shine On You Crazy Diamond, a tribute to founder member Syd Barrett.

Since 1967 Pink Floyd have produced one of the most outstanding and enduring catalogues in the history of recorded music. The albums have been painstakingly remastered by James Guthrie (co-producer of The Wall). Artwork designed by long-time artwork collaborator Storm Thorgerson. As a part of their Why Pink Floyd? campaign, EMI has chosen to release three titles on collector's vinyl LP (throughout the year 2011 and into early 2012) including The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall. Animals

Animals is innovative and musically diverse. Inspired in part by George Orwell's political fable Animal Farm, Roger Waters condemns the avarice and inequalities of capitalism, metaphorically and musically grouping humans as pigs, dogs, and sheep. The pigs are self-righteous hypocrites inflicting their beliefs on everyone else, the dogs greedy money-grabbers, and the sheep witless followers. Dark, cynical, and brilliantly composed, Animals is an ingenious and under-acknowledged album. -Naomi Gesinger

Remastered From The Original Analogue Master Tapes

During a short break from touring Atom Heart Mother in 1971, Pink Floyd released the experimental album Meddle. The LP saw the band move musical direction away from their original psychedelic sound, especially highlighted by the 23-minute track Echoes which occupied the entire b-side of the record.

The Division Bell is Pink Floyd's fourteenth and final studio album. It was originally released in the UK by EMI Records on 28 March 1994, and the US by Columbia Records on 4 April.

The music was written mostly by David Gilmour and Richard Wright; lyrically, the album deals with themes of communication. Recording took place in several locations, including the band's Britannia Row Studios, and Gilmour's houseboat, Astoria. The production team included Pink Floyd stalwarts such as producer Bob Ezrin, engineer Andy Jackson and saxophonist Dick Parry. Gilmour's new wife, Polly Samson, co-wrote many of the album's lyrics, and Wright performed his first lead vocal on a Pink Floyd album since 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon.

    Roger Waters The Wall

Limited Edition Triple 180 Gram LP Set
Accompanies The Concert Film, The Wall, Filmed During Waters' 2010-2013 Tour

Now that Roger Waters has released his new concert film of The Wall, filmed on the former Pink Floyd singer-songwriter's recent world tour, he is putting out an accompanying soundtrack album. Between 2010 and 2013, the singer performed the 1979 double-album, home to Comfortably Numb and Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2), live more than 200 times. Like the film, the soundtrack, titled Roger Waters The Wall, contains recordings from around the world and is being released as a 3 LP Set.

Waters performed the album for approximately 4.5 million people during the course of the tour with help from an 11-person backing group. Singer Robbie Wyckoff handled the vocal parts that Floyd's David Gilmour sang on the original record, while the guitars were handled by Dave Kilminster, former SNL bandleader G.E. Smith and Snowy White, the last of whom performed on Floyd's original The Wall tour. Waters' son Harry performed Hammond organ and piano on the tour.

Frequent Radiohead collaborator Nigel Godrich, who provided music production and mixing for the film, produced the album.

The soundtrack will run longer than the original Wall album, which spanned only two LPs, as it includes two songs removed from the original release - Last Few Bricks and What Shall We Do Now? - which Floyd had added back in for live performances. This version of The Wall also includes The Ballad of Jean Charles de Menezes, which Waters incorporated into his performances of the album beginning in 2011 in tribute to a 27-year-old Brazilian man that London police killed thinking, wrongly, that he was a terrorist.

The soundtrack marks the third time The Wall has been released as a live album. In 1990, Waters released The Wall: Live in Berlin, which he'd recorded and filmed less than a year after the Berlin Wall fell with a star-studded cast, including Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Marianne Faithfull, the Band, SinÉad O'Connor, Cyndi Lauper and Tim Curry, among others. A decade later, Pink Floyd released Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980-81, which contains recordings of Waters' final tour as a member of the band.

Waters told Rolling Stone that the meaning behind The Wall hadn't changed for him over the years. The context changes, but the story remains the same, he said. If people see this movie, what I hope is that that they may look at one another and go, 'You know what? We are a community, and we are many. There are a lot of us.'

The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn

Pink Floyd's debut album released in 1967, featuring the original line-up of Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason.

The title of Pink Floyd's debut album is taken from a chapter in Syd Barrett's favorite children's book, The Wind in the Willows, and the lyrical imagery of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is indeed full of colorful, childlike, distinctly British whimsy, albeit filtered through the perceptive lens of LSD. Barrett's catchy, melodic acid pop songs are balanced with longer, more experimental pieces showcasing the group's instrumental freak-outs, often using themes of space travel as metaphors for hallucinogenic experiences -- Astronomy Domine is a poppier number in this vein, but tracks like Interstellar Overdrive are some of the earliest forays into what has been tagged space rock. But even though Barrett's lyrics and melodies are mostly playful and humorous, the band's music doesn't always bear out those sentiments -- in addition to Rick Wright's eerie organ work, dissonance, chromaticism, weird noises, and vocal sound effects are all employed at various instances, giving the impression of chaos and confusion lurking beneath the bright surface.

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn successfully captures both sides of psychedelic experimentation -- the pleasures of expanding one's mind and perception, and an underlying threat of mental disorder and even lunacy; this duality makes Piper all the more compelling in light of Barrett's subsequent breakdown, and ranks it as one of the best psychedelic albums of all time.

David Gilmour - Live at Pompeii

Live At Pompeii is the project from David Gilmour, and follows his critically acclaimed studio album Rattle That Lock from September of 2015.

Following the release of Rattle That Lock in 2015, David Gilmour set out to play a series of concerts in historic venues across the world. On July 7th and 8th, 2016, David Gilmour performed two spectacular shows at the legendary Pompeii Amphitheatre in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, 45 years after he first played there for Adrian Maben's classic film Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii. The concerts were the first-ever rock performances played to an audience in the ancient Roman amphitheatre, which was built in 90 BC and entombed in ash when Vesuvius erupted in AD 79. David Gilmour is the only performer to play to an audience in the arena since the time of the gladiators, almost 2,000 years ago.

Speaking about the Pompeii shows David Gilmour commented 'It's a magical place and coming back and seeing the stage and the arena was quite overwhelming. It's a place of ghosts...'.

    A Momentary Lapse Of Reason

A Momentary Lapse of Reason, Pink Floyd's thirteenth studio album, was originally released in the UK and US in September 1987. It followed guitarist David Gilmour's decision to include material recorded for his third solo album on a new Pink Floyd album with drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist Richard Wright. Although for legal reasons Wright could not be re-admitted to the band, Wright and Mason helped Gilmour craft what became the first Pink Floyd album since the December 1985 departure of bass guitarist, singer, and primary songwriter Roger Waters.

The Dark Side Of The Moon

The world's most predictably unpredictable band, The Flaming Lips, have teamed up with their Oklahoma City brethren, Stardeath and White Dwarfs to record their own unique take of Pink Floyd's 1973 classic album The Dark Side Of The Moon, under the title of The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches.

The collaborative project was recorded after several weeks of both bands touring the world together and mutually citing Pink Floyd as one of their favorite bands of all time and The Dark Side Of the Moon as one of their primary influences.

Gov't Mule have announced the release of a live Pink Floyd covers album entitled Dark Side Of The Mule. It was recorded in Boston in 2008, when Warren Haynes and co delivered a three-hour performance of Floyd tracks.

Haynes says: "These new archival live releases just further that concept, and allow us to highlight some of our influences as well as how far we've come since the first album."

    Old Rottenhat

    Limited Edition

    Only 2000 Copies Made

Its far too easy to abuse the phrase living legend, but when used to describe Robert Wyatt, youre in no danger of hyperbole: gifted songwriter; political activist; drummer in the Canterbury jazz/prog pioneers Soft Machine and contemporaries of the original lineup of Pink Floyd; collaborator with the likes of Brian Eno, David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Fred Frith, Paul Weller, Scritti Politti, Elvis Costello and his beloved wife Alfreda Benge, to name but a few.

Perhaps his greatest gift though is his voice, a reedy instrument of great warmth and emotion; one need only hear his interpretation of the classic Shipbuilding (a song that was written for him by Costello and producer Clive Langer) and you shall be smitten for life. Domino is incredibly honored to be releasing a near-complete re-issue series of Roberts solo recorded works in the form of these limited edition LP+CD versions. Each title is limited to 2000 copies. There will be only one pressing so, once these are gone, they are gone for good.

Despite the desolate and somber nature of the subject matter of its songs Old Rottenhat has a steely sparkle at its heart. Played almost entirely by Wyatt himself, the record captures the sound of an artist in self-imposed exile brimming with melodic purpose. Often setting his voice with echo against languorous synth drones, the record confirms Wyatt has a DNA that can't help but achieve a sense of depth, grace and beauty.

Possibly as beautiful and assuredly restrained as anything he has done, Cuckooland was at 75 minutes Wyatt's longest work to date. After Brian Eno expressed concern about its length, Wyatt placed a half-minute break in the middle so people could go and put the kettle on. In amongst the light-as-a feather brushstrokes and Wyatt's own muted trumpet playing, is an ire and barely contained anger both at our inability to be humanitarian and the follies that get carried out in that word's name. Wyatt had done whatever is the polar opposite of mellowing.

    Killing Machine

Killing Machine on Numbered Limited Edition LP from Mobile Fidelity Silver Label

Smoking-Hot 1978 Set Released as Hell Bent For Leather in the United States

Produced by Pink Floyd The Wall Engineer James Guthrie: Uncompromising Album and Exacting Performances Remain Hard Rock and Metal Bedrocks

Marries Streetwise Aggression to Commercial Accessibility, Overflows With Confidence, Boldness, and Diversity

Includes Metal Standards Hell Bent for Leather, Evening Star, and Delivering the Goods

Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI

Released the same year as the equally pivotal Stained Class, Killing Machine cemented Judas Priest's standing and reputation as the world's foremost metal band of the late 1970s. Further diversifying its music and sporting increased confidence, boldness, and full-bodied songwriting, the album managed a then-unprecedented task of appealing to mainstream tastes via its impeccably solid production, creative prowess, and staggering melodies. Known in the United States as Hell Bent for Leather, Killing Machine remains a titanic release no matter the name.

Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI, this Silver Series numbered limited edition LP broadens the scope of the original production, helmed by none other than Pink Floyd The Wall producer James Guthrie. Besting those on all previous editions, the low-end thrust, high-frequency dynamics, and all-important midrange now come alive with unsurpassed detail and accuracy. Soundstaging and imaging positively explode before your eyes and ears, and instrumental separation allows insight into band's tight-fisted interplay.

Recognizing the era's potential and pushing to expand metal's horizons, Priest created music that at the time hadn't any peer. With proto-metal luminaries Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin experiencing career low points, and campy hard rockers following a softer path, the English quintet married street-bruising intensity to commercial accessibility without compromising any aggression, volatility, rawness, or ruggedness. Part of the success owes to Guthrie's expert hand. A majority, however, lies with the group's unrelenting ambition and variety-not to mention masterful performances.

Exemplified in the breakthrough "Hell Bent for Leather," as tough-as-nails resilient as any metal song and delivered by vocalist Rob Halford with a pronounced ruffian attitude as guitars blaze behind him, Killing Machine sparks with high-powered muscle and concise, exact rhythmic structures. Halford comes into his own throughout, sending his falsetto into another universe on the wide-open highway-driving anthem "Evening Star," evoking deep loss on the ballad "Before the Dawn," and attacking "Delivering the Goods" as if he's a mercenary. There's not a wasted note or moment of doubt on the album.

To author and metal expert Martin Popoff, music doesn't get any better. "To my mind, Killing Machine was the apex, the hallowed halls of heavy metal which Priest summarily occupied alone at this particular juncture in time," writes Popoff in his The Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time. "The songs on this record sweat the corners and creases of all of metal's characteristics, Priest firing on and off all speeds, from quick and note-dense to positively glacial."

Reached Number One In The UK And The Us

The Wall is the eleventh studio album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It is the last studio album released with the classic lineup of guitarist David Gilmour, bassist/lyricist Roger Waters, keyboardist Richard Wright and drummer Nick Mason before Wright left the band. Released as a double album on 30 November 1979, it was supported by a tour with elaborate theatrical effects, and adapted into a 1982 feature film, Pink Floyd - The Wall. The album features the band's only number one single; Another Brick in the Wall Part 2.

As with Pink Floyd's previous three albums, The Wall is a concept album and explores themes of abandonment and personal isolation. The album is a rock opera that follows Pink, a character whom Waters modelled after himself and the band's original leader, Syd Barrett. Pink's life begins with the loss of his father during the Second World War and continues with abuse from his schoolteachers, an overprotective mother, and the breakdown of his marriage; all contribute to his eventual self-imposed isolation from society, represented by a metaphorical wall. Waters conceived the album during Pink Floyd's 1977 In the Flesh Tour, when his frustration with the audience became so acute that he imagined a wall between the audience and the stage.

The Wall features a harsher and more theatrical style than Pink Floyd's previous albums. Wright left the band during its production but remained as a salaried musician, performing with Pink Floyd during the Wall tour. The album was one of the best selling of 1980, and by 1999 it had sold over 23 million RIAA-certified units (11.5 million albums), making it the third highest certified album in the United States. Rolling Stone placed The Wall at number 87 on its list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

    Faith Hope Love

King's X lie somewhere between progressive rock and hard rock, and nowhere is that more evident than on this album. They're at their best when rocking out, as on the fast, acrobatic Moanjam, which occasionally reminds one of Queen's Headlong. With the slower, delicate Six Broken Soldiers, they veer more toward Pink Floyd territory; Fine Art of Friendship has a fine midtempo groove and some excellent riffs. King's X enjoy harmonizing, as just about every song includes backing vocals, or else two or more of the band members share the lead. The only problem here is that they overdo it, making what could be a series of special moments into just another effect. This, coupled with overly slick production, prevents Faith Hope Love from being a great album. However, it is good, with some fine moments that help make up for its shortcomings. --Genevieve Williams

    Dark Side Of The Spoon

Available On Vinyl For The First Time

Dark Side Of The Spoon is the seventh studio album by Industrial Metal band Ministry, released in 1999. The song Bad Blood was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2000.

There are two theories behind the title (which occurs in the lyrics of the opening track), the first being a simple play on words, referencing Pink Floyd's record The Dark Side Of The Moon. The second is a reference to the blackened or dark side of a spoon when heated to dissolve heroin, as the band suffered from addiction to said substance at the time.

The album's cover, which features a naked fat woman sitting in front of a black board with I will be god written numerous times gained controversy and was banned from Kmart. The woman and the words on the blackboard were later airbrushed out.

    The Soft Machine

The first two albums by England's legendary Soft Machine, originally released in 1968 and 1969, remain among the most innovative and influential releases of that musically fertile era. These seminal LPs offered a visionary psychedelic-progressive-jazz-rock mix that helped to make the Soft Machine one of Britain's first significant underground bands, as well as a key force in the birth of both progressive rock and jazz-rock.

A product of the same fabled Canterbury scene that spawned such beloved cult acts as Caravan and Hatfield and the North, the Soft Machine was the rare art-rock combo whose members possessed the instrumental skills to execute their ambitious musical ideas, as well as a playful sense of humor that balanced the band's complex compositions and adventurous improvisations. By the time they began making albums, the Soft Machine was already a sensation in the budding U.K. rock underground, thanks to their now-legendary performances at such fabled London clubs as the UFO, the Speakeasy and Middle Earth, where they shared stages with the likes of Pink Floyd and Tomorrow.

The Soft Machine, co-produced by Chas Chandler and Tom Wilson, announced the band's arrival on the international scene in fine style. With an unusual three-man lineup comprised of Kevin Ayers on bass and vocals, Robert Wyatt on drums and vocals, and Mike Ratledge on keyboards, the album was recorded in New York, while the band was touring North America with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In contrast to the extended pieces that would later dominate the Soft Machine's repertoire, the album focuses on shorter, more concise songs that nonetheless provide plenty of room for the musicians to demonstrate their varied abilities.

    Hapshash and the Coloured Coat

Featuring The Human Host And The Heavy Metal Kids

One of the most sought-after of all '60s cult LPs, 1967's Hapshash and the Coloured Coat Featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids is the sort of record that could only have emerged during the psychedelic era, and a vibrant manifestation of that period's freewheeling boundary-breaking spirit of adventure.

Hapshash and the Coloured Coat, the English duo of Michael English and Nigel Weymouth, initially achieved notoriety as a graphic design team whose distinctive visual sensibility placed them at the center of London's original psychedelic explosion. The pair's vivid visual imagination spawned numerous album covers, including Cream's Disraeli Gears, and countless posters promoting performances at London's legendary UFO Club by such acts as Pink Floyd and the Incredible String Band. Those visual works brilliantly captured the London scene's buoyant, mind-expanding vibe, and feature some of the psychedelic era's most arresting imagery.

Such was Hapshash & the Coloured Coat's prominence and influence that, in 1967, they were given the opportunity to branch out as a recording act. For the occasion, English and Weymouth teamed with legendary producer/manager/DJ/scenester Guy Stevens, whose lengthy resume encompasses work with the Rolling Stones, Procol Harum, Mott the Hoople and The Clash.

The result was Hapshash & the Coloured Coat Featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids. The unlikely collaboration produced a one-of-a-kind sonic experience that exemplifies the spirit of psychedelia while sounding like no other record of its time, mixing primal vocal chants and insistent tribal rhythms with proto-funk guitar and bluesy piano on such memorably titled tracks as H-O-P-P Why?, The New Messiah Coming 1985, Empires of the Sun and A Mind Blown Is a Mind Shown.

Out of print on vinyl for decades and never before reissued domestically, Hapshash & the Coloured Coat featuring the Human Host & the Heavy Metal Kids has been meticulously restored for this LP reissue, using Sundazed's usual exacting standards. The album is pressed on high-quality audiophile vinyl, and features complete original cover art.
