    Buttons: Starter Kit

At the launch of the Numero label near-on a decade ago, they already had an unquenchable thirst for power pop, glam, and regional bar rock. This affliction led to the double disc Yellow Pills: Prefill compilation, which was intended as the first entry in a series that, they regret to report, got stalled out in committee.

Seven years after its release, YP became the first Numero effort to be put to sleep. Emails began trickling in about the missing catalog number: Would YP ever be issued on vinyl? Would there ever be a second volume? Was The Toms track "Sun" actually recorded in the '80s? Hoping to satiate the masses, the Numero brain trust has conceived Buttons as their brand-spanking-new power pop umbrella, and is pleased to announce the first two titles in the series: Buttons: Starter Kit and Buttons: From Champaign To Chicago.

Numero's entry-level power pop 2LP compilation, Buttons: Starter Kit, features 20 songs from the original 004, plus two bonus cuts, new liners, tons of sleeve scans, photos, and ephemera, all housed in a spot varnished, brick-thick gatefold sleeve!

    Titan: It's All Pop!

From 1978-1981 the Titan label issued only eight records, but over the years their tiny catalog has crawled to the top of power-pop want lists worldwide and appeared on scads of bootleg cassettes, building a legacy to rival L.A.s Bomp or New Yorks Ork. Located in fly-over country, Titan was forced to start their own scene, import their own skinny ties, and scour Missouri for their own talent.

Their midwest AM bubblegum roots are apparent in the likes of Gary Charlson, the Secrets*, Arlis!, Gems, Millionaire At Midnight, the Boys, J.P. McClain & the Intruders, Bobby Sky, and Scott McCarl, but Titan was clearly influenced by the glam-punk spit being hocked from the 100 Club stage.

30 years since they meekly flopped out their first 7 single, Kansas Citys Titan Records finally returns to record bins everywhere with the 4-LP retrospective, Titan: It's All Pop!

Filled with never released recordings of their power pop gems, demos and live performances, the album is a feast for post-punk new wave fans and collectors who have been asking for years to be able to get their hands on the Sorrows music.

    Subliminal Plastic Motives

Self's debut album is an impressive home-brewed amalgamation of crunchy post-grunge guitars, unusual samples, and cotton candy pop vocals. Imagine Nirvana's chord progressions overlaid with Jellyfish-type vocal harmonies, all processed through Beck's idiosyncratic, sample-based production aesthetic, and you've got an idea of what you're in for. The core of Self is Matt Mahaffey, a self-contained singer/songwriter/instrumentalist/producer who obviously has a voracious appetite for many styles of music including power pop, hip-hop, even jazz. The results are surprisingly coherent and thoroughly enjoyable on Subliminal Plastic Motives, an overlooked album.

    Post Pop Depression

A lot of geezers my age don't work out of their comfort zone anymore because once you become legendary you don't want people challenging you." - Iggy Pop

Post Pop Depression is IGGY POP's new, studio album, produced by Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal). The 17th Iggy Pop album, and a worthy addition to the 22 album legacy spawned with the immortal trilogy of The Stooges, Fun House and Raw Power, spanning massively influential solo outings including 1977's opening 1-2 combo of The Idiot and Lust For Life, and 1990's gold-certified Brick By Brick.

The first Iggy Pop album co-created with producer Homme, Post Pop Depression began with a succinctly worded text from Iggy to Joshua, and was realized in seclusion with Homme's enlisted aid of his Queens Of The Stone Age bandmate and Dead Weather-man Dean Fertitia and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders.

Post Pop Depression is a singular work that stands proudly alongside the best works of either of its principles, from The Stooges to Queens Of The Stone Age, bearing its creators' undeniable sonic DNA while sounding like nothing they've done before. It's a record that wouldn't exist without either Pop or Homme-and one that probably shouldn't in theory if you really think about it-but it does, and we and rock n roll are all the better for it.

If theres ever been an album that lives up to its title, this is it, Iggy and the Stooges apocalyptic, high-octane 1973 release, Raw Power with its unforgettable Mick Rock photography on the front and back! The Iggy Pop produced/David Bowie mixed album literally provided the blueprint for the mid-'70s punk-rock explosion with such proto-punk frontal assaults as Search and Destroy, Shake Appeal, Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell and the title track.

Although this incarnation of the Stooges (James Williamson/guitar, Ron Asheton/bass, Scott Asheton/drums) imploded not long after its release, Raw Power became the album that launched a million punk rock bands all around the world, leaving its mark on scenes from London to L.A. to Sydney. As iconic and influential a record as they come, this is primal rock n roll at its absolute best!

Raw Power was the confluence of the Stooges' ages, hormones, creativity, ability, experience, tastes, lack of supervision, contempt for authority and ambition to achieve our rock dreams however unrealistic they might be. The songs from Raw Power were written from deep within our souls and were played with a meaningfulness and authenticity which is rarely captured on record. - James Williamson

Power Windows introduced more keyboard synthesizers into the band's sound. The Big Money and Mystic Rhythms were both made into music videos featured in MTV's rotation at the time. This was the era in which the band were expanding into new directions from their progressive rock base, and they had on their then recent albums tightened up their sidelong suites and rhythmic abstractions into balled-up song fists, art-pop blasts of angular, slashing guitar, spatial keyboards and hyperpercussion, all resolved with forthright melodic sense

    Power Of Peace

Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, is pleased to announce the release of Power of Peace, a new studio album from Santana (Carlos Santana and Cindy Blackman Santana) and The Isley Brothers (Ronald and Ernie).

Recorded last year, Power of Peace is the fulfillment of a dream, a new musical studio collaboration connecting Santana and The Isleys on a mind-bending journey through some of the immortal soul, funk, blues, rock, jazz and pop songs that continue to inspire them.

About the Power of Peace, Carlos Santana observes, I feel a deep sense of gratitude, appreciation, and thankfulness. There is a spirit of creativity that came knocking and presented itself as a golden opportunity to do something with and for a supreme musician, who I consider to be the best in the world. Brother Ronnie Isley has been in the center of collective unity and harmony on the radio around the world since 1962 with 'Twist and Shout,' the song that the Beatles chose to invade America with. Like Michael Jackson, John Lennon, and Bob Marley, he's an iconic supreme of the highest order. Cindy and I feel very blessed to offer him this gift. From God, through us to you, for the world Mr. Ronnie Isley.

It was an absolute joy working on this album with Carlos!, exclaims Ronald Isley. I hope this record carries the spirit of hope, love, and peace to the world that it brought to me, my brother and Carlos!

Ernie Isley shares his brother's enthusiasm, saying, Doing this project with Carlos Santana was fun and illuminating. I hope all music lovers enjoy what we have done.

Led by the legendary Ronald Isley on lead vocals and the album's main producer/arranger Carlos Santana on lead guitar, rhythm guitar, percussion and background vocals, Power of Peace covers songs first made familiar by the Chambers Brothers (Are You Ready, Love, Peace, Happiness), Swamp Dogg (Total Destruction to Your Mind), Stevie Wonder (Higher Ground), Billie Holiday (God Bless the Child), Eddie Kendricks (Body Talk), Curtis Mayfield (Gypsy Woman), Muddy Waters/Willie Dixon (I Just Want to Make Love to You), Dionne Warwick/Jackie DeShannon (What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love), Marvin Gaye (Mercy Mercy Me - The Ecology), Leon Thomas (Let the Rain Fall on Me) and Sy Miller and Jill Jackson (Let There Be Peace on Earth).

Power of Peace premieres a new song, I Remember, written and sung by Cindy Blackman Santana. Cindy, who plays drums on the album, produced and arranged Higher Ground (along with her husband, Carlos). A family affair, Power of Peace features two Santanas--Carlos (guitar) and Cindy (drums)--and four Isleys: Ronald (vocals) and Ernie (rhythm guitar) and their respective spouses, Kandy Johnson Isley (Ron's wife, she sings background on God Bless the Child, Body Talk and Gypsy Woman) and Tracy Isley (Ernie's wife, she also sings background vocals on God Bless the Child).

    Half Hour Of Power

    First Time On Vinyl!

Limited 180 Gram Transparent Orange With Transparent Red Smoke Colored Vinyl

    Gatefold Jacket With 11 X 22 Insert

Remastered For Vinyl By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio

Half Hour of Power is an EP by Canadian rock band Sum 41. It was originally released on June 27, 2000 on Big Rig Records, a subsidiary of Island Records (United States), and Aquarius Records (Canada). Some consider the album to be the band's first studio album. However the band claims that their next release, All Killer No Filler, is their first debut album.

The first track, Grab the Devil by the Horns and Fuck Him up the Ass, is a time warp. For a minute and a half the group relives the new wave of British metal and cranks out an Iron Maiden style tune. After a brief trip down memory lane the album quickly morphs into pop punk. The songs are well crafted and the hooks are catchy on Make No Difference and Summer. But in some respects that is problematic, there was a time in the pre-Green Day/Blink 182 years where punk defined itself by not being radio friendly. A good album, but essentially proof that turn of the millennium punk is just as much a corporate rock entity as adult contemporary. - Curtis Zimmermann, All Music

The Shape of Brat Pop to Come

Their debut album features single Running Behind, featured in the 2015 Apple Watch commercial. HOLYCHILD is comprised of Liz Nistico and Louie Diller. They met in college in 2011, have been writing music ever since and call their genre, brat pop. This album takes on nothing less than the idea of power dynamics and inequality-be it racial, social status, or gender-motivated. The beats are wild and the tongues are placed firmly in cheek.

    Maiden Powers

Nerftoss "Maiden Powers" is an album by which to better appreciate the days that we have. John Jones, maybe known to some as a riffer in Baltimore band Dope Body, has made a record more interested in the light filling the room than the architecture itself. Half serious half playful the album works with pop concepts that often drift into fierce forms of sonic exploration that then lead back to a familiar listening space.

    Shake Some Action

Shake Some Action was the fifth released in 1976 by the San Francisco band Flamin' Groovies. Recorded in Great Britain and produced by Dave Edmunds, Shake Some Action marked a departure for the group from the blues based / garage rock sound of the earlier records to a more power pop / British invasion direction. This was due to the departure of lead singer Roy Loney, the ascendance of guitarist Cyril Jordan, and the fact that the band moved to England in 1972 and was building a large following there. A certified power pop classic brought to you by 4 Men With Beards on 180 gram vinyl.

    Orb Weaver

The third album by the Parson Redheads, Orb Weaver showcases the most vital and inventive elements in the canon of West Coast psych-folk. Under the guidance of producer Scott McCaughey (the Minus 5, R.E.M., the Baseball Project), the Portland, Oregon-based foursome expands its sonic palette in every direction - dosing their rootsy power pop with extra psychedelia, fiercer rock, frothier pop and, as always, buoyant vocal harmonies and tasteful, powerful guitar interplay.

    Brand New Brand

All-star power pop rock act The Crunch release their sensational second album. After winning critical acclaim for the compelling mix of pop hooks and punk grit on debut 'Busy Making Noise', vocalist Sulo Karlsson (Diamond Dogs), guitarist Mick Geggus (Cockney Rejects), bassist Dave Tregunna (Sham 69 ) and drummer Terry Chimes (The Clash) wasted no time recording the follow-up. The new record retains and builds upon many of the hallmarks established on 'Busy Making Noise'; most notably an enviable knack for huge, power-pop hooks, and massive, memorable blasts of melody. 'Brand New Brand' also brings another crop of evocative slowburners. One standout is the immense 'Save The Glow', which swells from an understated, semi-acoustic opening, into a swaying, lighters-aloft anthem.

    Back To Oakland

Back To Oakland is the fourth album by Bay Area based band Tower of Power, released in spring 1974. Tower of Power followed their self-titled gold album with (as said by many critics) an even better album.

This record had tougher, funkier and better-produced cuts, stronger vocals from Lenny Williams (who was more comfortable as their lead singer), and included an excellent ballad in Time Will Tell, and a rousing tempo in Don't Change Horses (In the Middle of a Stream). The Tower of Power horn section reaffirmed its reputation in both Soul and Pop circles.

Back To Oakland was voted by Modern Drummer Magazine as one of the most important recordings for drummers to listen to.
