The American rock band Winger formed in 1987 and they released their third studio album Pull in 1993. Their music changed from the glam metal to a more aggressive and darker musical style. The political messages in the lyrics brought both their music and vocals to a higher level. The clean production and melodic changes leans towards the progressive rock/metal. All the characteristics of the guitar-driven sound keeps songs like Down Incognito and the groovy Blind Revolution Mad in tone. Their absolute masterpiece Who's the One is the last track and is an acoustic ballad of the best kind. The 50 minutes of pure power of their sound did eventually lead to their break-up, but gladly they reunited and continued making great albums.

Winger could be categorized as one of the many bands who stepped into the last wave of the glam metal scene. Compared to many others they showed their true skills by evolving to a band which created clever melodies and clean vocals in their hard rock sound. After two break-ups they're back on the track again since 2006. They still show their true power by performing worldwide.

    Push Pull

Ten million albums sold worldwide, countless top-notch chart positions and a hit that seems as fresh as ever: when newcomers Hoobastank released their second album / smash hit The Reason in 2003, the rock world held its breath in awe. Nowadays, Hoobastank are still going strong as one of the biggest American rock acts of our time, and are set to release their most varied and thrilling effort so far: their sixth full length Push Pull, lovingly fine-tuned by legendary producer Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Maroon 5). The feather-light hooks of 'More Beautiful' will have you enamored in seconds, whilst the compelling chorus of 'True Believer' pulls you in for a tight embrace. The title track is brimming with pop goodness and displays the band`s versatility, while 'We Don`t Need The World', with its balladesque undertones, plays Hoobastank`s iconic trump card and rounds off an album that easily is one of the strongest of this much-praised hit factory!

    Pull It Together

Pull It Together is Shannon Stephens' third album. Vulnerability has been replaced with a fierce confidence born of experience. Stephens sings out now with a voice free of youthful self-consciousness, filled instead with conviction, and no small amount of anger at the state of the world. She has always distilled powerful emotions into her music but this time the emotional dial is cranked.

From the sweetly swaggering "What Love Looks Like" to the searing "Your Fabulous Friends," she balances cynicism with generous quantities of warmth, humor and empathy. Never is this fine balance more apparent than on "Faces Like Ours" where Bonnie Prince Billy (Will Oldham) weaves his voice with hers in a duet that wryly dissects the injustice of racial and economic privilege.

The result of this new approach is an album that is gritty, fluid, and more accessible than her previous work. Call it pragmatic pop, optimism balanced with the sharp-edged reality of life in 2012.

Senses Fail has been a regular face in modern punk rock since their debut 2002 EP. The band has sold over a million albums to date and has aged far better than most of their early 2000s emo-counterparts. 2015 will see the band again on the Vans Warped Tour this year playing the much heavier Monster Stage. With a new album produced by Shawn Lopez (Deftones, Far), Senses Fail steps out as a much more serious band. Armed with a message focused around equality and the LGBT community, Senses Fail is looking to make a new kind of noise in 2015.

Anne's proper debut LP - "Pulling Chain" leads a dark and dirty dance oozing
with gothic sexuality. Combining vibing, moody synths with thumping electronic back beats, Pulling Chain marks a change in form as frontman David Lindell
continues Anne into electronic territory. His vocals dip and tease between a
lusty, bellowing baritone and a playful falsetto. Maintaining post-punk rhythmic
tendencies and stepping out of the reverbed cloudiness of previous work, Lindell
emerges with a collection of songs that carry a grinding, primal urgency.

A Place Where We Could Go is a statement of fiction and fact, the romance of life without the people and things that pull down the corners. Ranked 486/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Maggot Brain, released in 1971, is Funkadelic's all-out masterpiece. Absolutely no one working in soul and funk at the time had the scope, vision and, let's be honest, sheer lunacy to pull off the kind of record that George Clinton and his collaborators have made here. Eccentric funk jams are bookended with tracks like Maggot Brain and Wars Of Armageddon, which are some of the heaviest tracks ever committed to tape. The title track and album opener are nothing short of mind-blowing. An essential classic and the deepest album to come out of the Parliament-Funkadelic canon.

Navigator is the third album by Her Name is Calla and their first through Function Records. It follows on from their critically acclaimed album The Quiet Lamb. Written over the course of the last three tumultuous years as life, death, distance, divorce and everything else in between tried its best to pull the band apart. It retains the bands own personal sound of soaring strings, and crescendos with footing equally in rock, electronica and folk.. First Mind received widespread critical praise-Rolling Stone hailed it as One of this year's finest new releases...Sophisticated and intricate stuff; Mulvey sounds like a major player in the making, and as introductions go, this is fine indeed, while The Guardian furthered, His album mixes traditional and experimental, acoustic and electronic to pull unexpected rabbits out of hats, and The Line of Best Fit added it's a total package of pop hooks, instrumental genius and gorgeous rhythms.

Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death

Remastered And Available In A Deluxe Gatefold Sleeve

Track for track and album after album, the Dead Kennedys were the most relentlessly political and controversial stateside punk rock band to gain much public notoriety. Originally released in 1987, Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death collects 17 of the band's singles, compilation tracks, and rarities spanning the eight years they played together.

This is a wide and deep collection of favorites like California Über Alles and Holiday in Cambodia, but the real reason to pick up this disc is the more obscure and rare material. From 1979, Night of the Living Rednecks has hyperactive mouthpiece Jello Biafra relating a tale of being chased by irate rednecks while the rhythm sections jams. Their version of I Fought the Law rewrites it into a true-to-life murder ballad, while rippers like Life Sentence, Insight, Pull My Strings and Straight A's are off the map unless you were lucky enough to pick up the original singles or compilations that they're pulled from. And Kinky Sex Makes the World Go 'Round is Biafra at his sarcastic best, as he tells of one corporate head instructing another on the economic necessity of a new war. The DKs were a truly important and relevant band, and Give Me Convenience provides 17 livid reasons why. Boy, could we use them now. -- Carl Hanni

    Future Weather

The War On Drugs is once again at the blurred edges of American music: overexposing studio limitations, piling tape upon tape to maximum density, and then, with each song, they pull off the scaffolding to reveal what sticks, keeping only whats absolutely necessary to dig into further. As on their debut Wagonwheel Blues, they take small moments occurring over multiple tapes and multiple song versions, and put every last drop of trust in their own instinct of momentum.

Future Weather is a provocative sometimes playful, sometimes weighty glimpse into The War On Drugs song-sculpting process, a process that remains a big mystery even to those on the inside. While some bands are content to merely pace the abyss, The War On Drugs coast through it. And along the way, Future Weather sidesteps most every connotation associated with the EP format. Theres a true coalescence and symmetry here, one of wash and drone, of momentum and tone, but also of theme.

In the mid-to-late 1980s, Moss Icon pioneered a progressive, highly emotive sound that stood in stark contrast to just about everything even remotely considered punk-rock at the time. In retrospect, they more resembled an inspired marriage of the bleak post-punk leanings of Joy Division with the raucous riffage of the Wipers, albeit considerably less accessible thanks to Moss Icon's more sinister tone, Tonie Joy's exploratory arrangements, and frontman Jonathan Vance's almost stream-of-conscious sociopolitical rampages.

In the decades since Moss Icon's disbandment, bootlegged t-shirts and patches have been easier to come by than actual recordings, and the Internet is filled with misconceptions and misinformation, incidentally lending an enigmatic, almost mythical status to the band. Rather than attempt to pull back the curtain, this collection, compiling the group's entire official catalog, serves to permanently document the very important contributions of one very important group from a very formative era of underground music. 19-song, 3LP set with download coupon from Temporary Residence.
