    Green

1988's Green, R.E.M.'s sixth studio album, was a milestone of sorts for the band: Green marked the group's
departure from longtime label I.R.S. Records; it was R.E.M's first LP to be certified double platinum, and it was the
album that broadened and solidified the band's success across the Atlantic.

    An eclectic album, Green featured
singles "Stand" and "Orange Crush" and was certified double platinum in the US, platinum in the UK, and peaked at
    #12 on the Billboard 200.

    Lifes Rich Pageant

Lifes Rich Pageant is the fourth studio album by R.E.M. This record widened their musical reach beyond college
rock boundaries and resulted in scoring them their first gold certified record.

Including excellent songs like 'I Believe,' 'Flowers of Guatemala,' 'These Days,' and 'What If We Give It Away,' it's ironic that the most memorable
moment comes from the garage rock obscurity 'Superman,' which is sung by Mike Mills. This reissue is pressed on

    25th Anniversary Edition

Remastered Vinyl Versions Of The Original Album And The Demos

Includes Extensive Liner Notes By Annie Zaleski Featuring Interviews From All Four Band Members And Producers Scott Litt And John Keane

A quarter of a century after 'Out Of Time' helped break alternative music into the American mainstream and turned R.E.M. into a worldwide phenomenon, the band have announced a special 25th Anniversary Edition, out via Concord Bicycle.

'Out Of Time' will be released in a 3 LP Set which will include remastered vinyl versions of the original album alongside demo versions of every album track, as well as demos for two non-album b-sides and a previously unreleased song. The release also contains extensive liner notes by Annie Zaleski featuring interviews from all four band members and producers Scott Litt and John Keane.

The demos, recorded at John Keane Studio in early 1990 and featured on all versions of the 'Out Of Time' reissue, provide key insight into the band's creative process: from early instrumental passes to versions of Losing My Religion and Texarkana with different lyrics, and even a version of Radio Song that features a rare moment with drummer Bill Berry on lead vocals for a verse. While recording them, it was clear to Keane that R.E.M. were at their peak in terms of creativity."

By 1991, R.E.M. (Bill Berry, Peter Buck, Mike Mills, and Michael Stipe) had amassed a sizable following in the United States, but 'Out Of Time' brought the Athens, GA band unprecedented global recognition. It was the group's first album to top both US and UK charts, selling 12 million copies worldwide, and garnered 7 Grammy nominations, including wins for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Short Form Music Video (Losing My Religion"), and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (Losing My Religion").

Instant classic songs like Losing My Religion," Shiny Happy People," Near Wild Heaven," and Radio Song" broke new ground, artistically and commercially. Reviewing 'Out Of Time,' Rolling Stone simply said, This may well be America's best rock & roll band." Earlier this year, Pitchfork called the album arguably their most important record," while Time Magazine named 'Out Of Time' one of it's All-Time 100 Albums, saying it contains ethereal beauty rarely heard on a rock record."

    Reckoning

Whereas Murmur had been complex and painstakingly deliberate, the bands Bill Berry, Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Michael Stipe, along with producers Mitch Easter and Don Dixon, saw Reckoning as a chance to turn up the volume, tear up the rule book, and capture instead R.E.M.s on-stage mojo. Features the chart hit So. Central Rain and the college radio anthems Pretty Persuasion, (Don't Go Back To) Rockville and Time After Time (Annelise). Chronic Town

Chronic Town established R.E.M.'s signature sound immediately, expanding the jangling riffs of their debut single, Radio Free Europe, into a full-fledged modus operandi. Recorded at Mitch Easter's Drive-In Studios, the EP has an endearingly ragged sound -- it's a garage band playing jangling pop songs, and while the music is melodic and memorable, it has an underground mentality that keeps it from sounding conventional. Their songwriting is distinctive, with Gardening at Night, Wolves, Lower, and Carnival of Sorts (Box Cars) ranking as early classics.

    MTV Unplugged, 1991

R.E.M. Unplugged, 1991 shares the band's set for MTV's MTV Unplugged acoustic performance. The release draws largely from 1991's Out of Time and five albums in total, as well as a cover of the Troggs' Love Is All Around.

R.E.M. mark the point when post-punk turned into alternative rock. When their first single, Radio Free Europe, was released in 1981, it sparked a back-to-the-garage movement in the American underground. While there were a number of hardcore and punk bands in the U.S. during the early '80s, R.E.M. brought guitar pop back into the underground lexicon. Combining ringing guitar hooks with mumbled, cryptic lyrics and a D.I.Y. aesthetic borrowed from post-punk, the band simultaneously sounded traditional and modern. Throughout the '80s, they worked relentlessly, releasing records every year and touring constantly, playing both theaters and backwoods dives. Along the way, they inspired countless bands, from the legions of jangle pop groups in the mid-'80s to scores of alternative pop groups in the '90s, who admired their slow climb to stardom.

    Murmur

Ranked 197/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

R.E.M. developed a strangely subdued variation of their trademark sound for their full-length debut album, Murmur by de-emphasizing the backbeat and accentuating the ambience of the guitars. Even though it's firmly rooted in the tradition of American folk-rock, post-punk, and garage rock, Murmur sounds eerily timeless, as if it appeared out of nowhere. Part of the distinctiveness lies in the atmospheric production, which exudes a detached sense of mystery, but it also comes from the remarkably accomplished songwriting. R.E.M. went on to produce a few albums that may have been on par with Murmur, but they never made anything that sounded quite like it. Reissued here on audiophile quality 180g vinyl with original packaging.

Some People Are On The Pitch They Think It's All Over It Is Now

Long before they became the indie darlings and international recording artistes they're usually remembered as, The Dentists were the black sheep of the mid '80s Medway Rock n' Roll family. Railing against the tried and tested Garage Rock of The Prisoners and The Milkshakes, The Dentists blended the contemporary guitar pop of The Smiths, The Go Betweens and REM with the classic '60s rock of The Who, The Kinks and The Byrds, added a generous sprinkling of heavy-lidded Psychedelia and played the resulting sound stew very loudly at 90 mph on beaten-up old guitars and drums. Crazy Rhythms

Bar/None is proud to release two classic albums by the Feelies, the much-loved group of hyperactive indie rockers from Haledon, New Jersey who did much to influence the sound of college radio in the 1980s.

Their debut album Crazy Rhythms is a masterwork of perfectly honed minimalist rock 'n' roll that leaps and darts into the corners of the listener's consciousness, a true sonic achievement that Rolling Stone called one of the 100 Best albums of the 1980s. Fans of the Velvet Underground, Wire and Brian Eno's early solo albums will surely appreciate their forces at work.

How Did I Find Myself Here?

The Dream Syndicate are at the foundation of contemporary alternative music because back in 1981 at a time when most bands were experimenting with new technology, they choose to bring back the guitar. Their seminal album The Days of Wine and Roses (1984) has been cited as influential by artists from Nirvana to the Black Crowes. Known for their incredible live performances, the band toured with everyone from REM to U2, before splitting up in 1988.

In 2012 after years apart in solo projects, front man Steve Wynn reunited The Dream Syndicate to perform at a charity festival in Spain. The reunited band took everything in baby steps. A few shows here and there-including a still talked-about set at Wilco's Solid Sound Festival. The shows were exciting---for both the band and the eagerly awaiting fans, many of whom weren't even alive when the band were around the first time. The next step was to see if the excitement and newfound chemistry would extend to the studio. From the first day of recording it was apparent that the band was making an album that would live up its history and take their story into the present. Wynn says, In a way it feels like if The Days of Wine and Roses would have been made in 2017. Which is to say that it's true to what we did before but it's also a whole new thing.

ATO Records and Old Crow Medicine Show are excited to announce the release of Carry Me Back. Carry Me Back is the band's fourth studio album and features 12 brand new tracks that sonically span the band's career while still pushing them forward in new directions as musicians and songwriters. The album was recorded at the legendary Sound Emporium studios in Nashville (O Brother, Where Art Thou?; REM's Document; Robert Plant and Alison Krauss's Raising Sand).

Carry Me Back was produced by Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly). Hutt pushed the band in a whole new way that they hadn't been pushed before. "Ted Hutt asked us to really dig deep as artists, as songwriters, to get to the heart of the matter of these songs and, especially, not to settle for anything less than their greatness," recalls Ketch Secor. Secor is also very proud of the result of the band's songwriting efforts on the album, saying "For me, Carry Me Back is all about the songs, how they line up, intertwine, switch partners, and promenade home. Each of these songs was an accident waiting to happen."

    Interiors

Interiors, Cameron Mesirow's second full-length release as
Glasser, is a more considered, confident, and much more
sharply personal album than its predecessor. It's central
themes are love and anxiety and the spatial constraints
of both in the landscape of one's life. In the three years
since Cameron released her breakout debut "Ring", she
toured around the world (with Jónsi of Sigur Rós, The XX,
Delorean, among others) and left her California home for
New York. Along the way, she discovered a new partner
in producer Van Rivers (Fever Ray, Blonde Redhead)
whose background in techno production added expansive
spatial elements to her music that reflect both the looming,
condensed architecture of Glasser's new adopted home
as well as the intricate internal worlds she conjures in on
    her own.

The tension between interior and exterior space fills the
album. In architect Rem Koolhaas' book Delirious New
York, which Mesirow credits as an inspiration, the author
suggests that New York's massive, stoic-faced buildings
are monuments rife with secrets. Interiors is Cameron's
attempt to exorcise and address some of those metropolitan
secrets. "I thought a lot about the physical impositions in
my life, and about the fluid emotional boundaries in my
relationships," Mesirow says. "There's no limit to what can
be said about these structures. I can't help but live and
work in them, exploring their many folds."

The instrumentation of the album is a mixture of synthetic
and organic sounds, real strings, reeds and drums
combined with programmed ones, a purposeful coupling
of natural enemies. "I like music where you're not thinking
about what a specific instrument is," she says. "An
instrument-less quality. It doesn't come from a band, but
from a whisper in the wind." As on Ring there are sounds
used for unlikely purposes; vocals used as percussive
accents, or melodic themes assembled from environmental
sounds. The song "Design" illustrates this with Cameron's
own pitched-down vocals serving as a writhing bass line
in the frantic depiction of lust. The Glasser we find on
Interiors is smoother and smokier, more confident and
defined against an increasingly stoic electronic music
backdrop. The effect is a paragon of sonic architecture--a
soundspace that's packed tight but never feels crowded.

    Fuzzy

"The best album of the year hands down" (R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, 1993)

Grant Lee Buffalo is an Americana/indie Rock band based in Los Angeles, consisting of Grant Lee Phillips (vocals and guitar), Paul Kimble (bass) and Joey Peters (drums). All three were previously members of another Los Angeles band, Shiva Burlesque. They toured with major bands, including R.E.M., Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins and The Cranberries.

Their 1993 debut Fuzzy was a condent and solidly crafted piece of work, with Phillips' marvelous voice, ne and evocative songs. Fuzzy is deep and mysterious stuff, but also very beautiful and crafted with imagination and care. It's no wonder Grant Lee Buffalo became critic's darlings shortly after this was released. Original vinyl copies are in short supply, making this rst reissue ever a very welcome one!

    Failure

    Green Colored Vinyl

The Posies' 1988 debut is back
    and bigger than ever!

Little did Jon Auer and Ken
    Stringfellow know that when
    they dropped off their cassette
    to Scott McCaughey (R.E.M.,
The Minus 5), the clerk at their
favorite record store (who happened to do A&R for the indie
label PopLlama), that a power pop dynasty would begin.

    Originally released by the
band on cassette, then issued on LP (with one track removed for
the then-current time constraints), and later on CD, Failure set the
independent music world on fire. Omnivore Recordings is proud
    to reissue this landmark album.

This 2014 edition sees the original 12-track playlist restored and
available on vinyl for the first time since its original issue (and cut
    by Kevin Gray).

While Auer and Stringfellow have continued on-whether as members of the reunited Big Star, as The Posies and as solo artists-the
journey began at Failure. Step back in time and hear the future.
