    Rave Age

Vitalic's third album Rave Age does not mess around. The French producer has made a beast of a record that takes the laser-guided disco for which he's known to an altogether wilder but no less euphoric place. This is a savage and carefree statement from a dancefloor visionary who's spent the last decade redefining electronic music in his own particular fashion and has decided, as only he can, to keep things simple.

    Rave Tapes

Rave Tapes is the eighth studio album by Mogwai and their second
for Sub Pop. Since their formation in 1995, the Scottish quintet
has established itself internationally through a prolific recorded
output and a commitment to touring that few of their peers can
    match.

With Rave Tapes, Mogwai's mastery of sound and space is firmly
at its apex. The album is a lustrous collection mined from the same
quarry as its predecessors, wreathed in painterly textures underpinned
by increasingly electronic beats. The haunted strains of "Deesh"
channel the slow-burning ecstasy of their 2006 song "Auto Rock"
(a key presence in the denouement of Michael Mann's film of Miami
Vice that year), while the guitars on which Mogwai built their
reputation remain, if less overtly belligerent this time round, as
evidenced by the somnambulant opener "Heard About You Last
Night" and the sonic scowl of "Hexon Bogon."

In the past year, the band have broadened their reach with the
soundtrack to the acclaimed Canal+ supernatural drama series Les
Revenants (retitled The Returned when broadcast on Channel 4 in
summer 2013, averaging 1.8m viewers a week; the show is now
broadcasting in the US on the Sundance Channel, and being remade
for A&E). As the show reached its climax on UK TV screens in July,
Mogwai returned to their predecessor to Les Revenants, the 2007
soundtrack to Douglas Gordon and Philippe Pareno's film Zidane:
A 21st-century Portrait, in sell-out performances with the band
playing live while the film was projected above them.

Having barely had time to draw breath, the ever-restless band
kicked off 2013 with the release of the Les Revenants EP, and
wrote and recorded Rave Tapes at the band's Castle Of Doom studio
in Glasgow, Scotland. Rave Tapes was recorded with Paul Savage,
who also worked with the band on their 2011 Sub Pop album,
Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. The release of Rave Tapes
will signal the beginning of a frantic year of live activity, including
the group's maiden foray into Africa. Fasten your seatbelts.

A simple product with a simple aim: high quality sound that's portable.
    - John H. Darko on digitalaudioreview.net

The Traveller sets a new standard in the league of mobile headphone amplifiers. We have designed it for a generation who is constantly on the move: no matter if at home, in the office or when travelling - this elegant companion will always give you a unique sound experience, everywhere. And the Traveller lives up to even the highest aesthetic demands.

On the go around the clock and at home wherever the pulse of life can be felt - this is you. With the pristine sound of your music in your ears the world is at your feet, and you breathe in life to the fullest. For this purpose our Traveller is just the right choice: despite its compact size, it will always elate you with excellent sound quality on all your short and long voyages. Moreover, it does not only sound phenomenal, but even cuts a fine figure.

    A comfortable companion

Besides its practical size and ease of use, we also focus on outstanding sound quality in our mobile companion - anytime, anywhere. This is the result of our decades of experience in the audio sector and our infinite passion for music. First-class components and a sophisticated circuit design are self-evident.

The Traveller's intuitive handling requires only two pushbuttons. The volume control works electronically and is therefore utterly precise, even down to the lowest levels. This is due to a microprocessor-controlled passive resistor network which prevents sonic losses. The set volume levels is saved automatically when turning the unit off. With a maximum battery run-time of more than 20 hours the music won't stop playing even on the longest flights. Moreover our Traveller is compatible with all players.

The exceptionally transparent sound is provided by the discrete zero global feedback output stage. Headphones and players find contact via solid mini jack sockets from Lumberg. The voltage gain is effected by audiophile components from Analog Devices and Burr Brown.

Flexibility and superb audio quality on life's colourful roads

This fully analogue headphone amplifier will drive even demanding headphones hands down and may also double quite easily as a preamp for active loudspeakers. This is made possible by two pairs of parallel inputs and outputs plus another input and output socket on the the front and rear panel. Of course, there are no cables visible on the faceplate.

This device is also ideally suited for persons with hearing impairments: when needed, the so-called Center Adjust function of the Traveller optimises the imaging of the acoustical centre. That way every music lover can level out unevenly recorded source signals or listening differences between the right and left ear.

An audiophile mini jack cable from Audictive and a charging cable are included in the delivery, the charging socket complies with the Micro USB standard.

    Music For The Jilted Generation

The Prodigy's response to the sweeping legislation and crackdown on raves contained in 1994's Criminal Justice Bill is an effective statement of intent.

Pure sonic terrorism, Music for the Jilted Generation employs the same rave energy that charged their debut but yokes it to a cause other than massive drug intake. Compared to their previous work, the sound is grubbier and less reliant on samples; the effect moved The Prodigy away from US influenced rave and acid house of the past and toward a uniquely UK vision of breakbeat techno that was increasingly allied to the invention of drum 'n bass.

Washington DC stalwarts Deleted Scenes released their debut album Birdseed Shirt to Pitchfork's rave reviews, calling it ferocious, brave, and a well-balanced demonstration of both thoughtful existentialism and strange, drowsy downers (Pitchfork, 8.0). Deleted Scenes' sophomore album Young People's Church of the Air, which will be released by Park The Van Records this summer, pushes the band's formidable rhythm section further, exploring the possibility of hope.

Bizzy B continues his journey into the darkside with four brand new tracks and the fifth installment of his Science EP series. Lead track Jah Works devastates dancefloors with its sub-bass depth charges and savage amen, lightened up with a dose of sweet dub vocals before crashing back in with Bizzy's famous edits and some choice rave stabs. Sound Test surprises with a little Soca guitar riff, while Flava brings some G-funk synth into the equation. The closer, Exceeding The Speed of Sound, beefs up the classic Bizzy sound to round out a nicely varied set.

Over the last couple years Pieta Brown has been hailed by critics and industry prognosticators as one of the up-and-coming stars of Americana music and this new release will likely be her break-out. Her recent stripped down 2009 EP release Shimmer (produced by Don Was) drew rave response and buzz, but this full-band, full-length recording is an absolute stunner and will be all over Americana radio. Supporting the release is a perfectly timed 28-date North American tour of large major market venues opening for Mark Knopfler.

    Dedication

Zomby is both a purist and a perfectionist. One of the most talented producers of a generation and someone capable of negotiating skilfully between genres, be it jungle, dubstep, rave, garage or whatever tag you want to put on it. Couple this with the numerous and incredible 12s, EPs and remixes that have been aired over the past five years and its clear just why hes built quite a heady reputation for himself.

Its been over two and a half years since he released his debut album, Where Were U In 92?, a rave record evoking that titular period, when Dreamscape, Fantazia and Universe flyers adorned bedroom walls, tape packs and pills became a national staple, and the Daily Mail were only hours away from their next denouncement. Using early- 90s equipment like an Akai S2000 and an Atari ST, he captured the moment.

Dedication continues to put Zomby at a distance from his peers. By the time they've caught up, hell no doubt be somewhere else entirely.

"A powerful and accomplished album" - Uncut

Music Industry 3. Fitness Industry 1. is an EP of new songs and remixes. The EP contains three new songs stemming from the writing and recording sessions for their critically acclaimed album Rave Tapes, released earlier this year, alongside remixes of three songs from that record by Blanck Mass, Pye Corner Audio and Nils Frahm. The EP was recorded at the band's Castle Of Doom studio in Glasgow, by the band with Paul Savage.

Music Industry 3. Fitness Industry 1. rounds off a sterling year's work for the Glasgow five-piece. Following the release of Rave Tapes in January, they completed a worldwide sell out tour, including two shows at London's Royal Festival Hall. The band released a comprehensive deluxe edition of their seminal 1999 album Come On Die Young via Chemikal Action in the summer, coinciding with a run of imperious festival performances that included headlining stages at Glastonbury and Latitude festivals.

    Technicians of the Sacred

Technicians of the Sacred is the first allnew Ozric Tentacles album since 2011's Paper Monkeys (and their first double album since their classic Erpland release of 1990), and comprises eleven tracks, with over ninety minutes of music. Tracks such as Switchback, Rubbing Shoulders With the Infinite and Butterfly Garden are brilliant examples of the Ozrics musical art; pulsating rhythms and blissedout tunefulness present and correct.

The band are to undertake a twentyfour date European tour in late April and May 2015, including twelve UK shows to promote the muchanticipated release of Technicians of the Sacred, with further gigs in the USA to follow.

Ozric Tentacles first came together at the Stonehenge Free Festival in 1983, and built an audience through selling privately produced cassettes of their music. Their talent for hypnotic, mantralike grooves found kindred spirits in the British rave scene of the late 1980s, uniting the seemingly disparate 'New Age' hippie and Rave audiences. Despite the lack of a hit single, media notoriety or the usual music business hype, much less majorlabel backing, their 1993 album Jurassic Shift was a UK top twenty album, and their hardcore audience is both dedicated and loyal to the band's unique sound. Peru Boom

This bass heavy and potent collection features the key Peruvian producers and DJs that have helped build Lima's reputation as 'jewel in the crown' of South America's rave & party scenes. Tropical bass artists like Dengue Dengue Dengue, DJ Chakruna, Animal Chuki and Deltatron have long been guided by the roots of chicha and Peruvian cumbia. This sees them reshape and digitally render the original sounds fashioning new cuts inspired by dubstep, techno, trap, grime, house and electronica all aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Detroit has techno, Chicago has house, and Peru's DJs and producers consider Lima as the home of Tropical Bass. Following hot on the heels of the 1960's jazz and '70s funk of Peru Bravo and Peru Maravilloso, this marks a new departure for the label, bringing things bang up to date with the latest electronic sounds. Martin Morales, co-founder of Tiger's Milk Records first took inspiration for the project at a life changing rave in Lima 3 years ago thrown by Dengue Dengue Dengue.

    Batdance (Single)

    12 Maxi-Single Reissue

    Featuring Batdance And 200 Balloons

Batdance was written for the 1989 Batman soundtrack. Helped by the film's popularity, the song reached number one in the US, becoming Prince's fourth American number-one single, and his first to achieve the feat of topping all 3 American charts since Kiss in 1986.

Batdance was a last-minute replacement for a brooding track titled Dance with the Devil, which Prince felt was too dark. It is almost two songs in one-a chaotic, mechanical dance beat that changes gears into a slinky, funky groove before changing back for the song's conclusion (except on the single version in which it eliminates the guitar solo before the middle section, then goes straight to the mechanical Joker laughter from the end of the movie and an earlier movie soundbyte of Michael Keaton saying Stop). The track is an amalgam of many musical ideas of Prince's at the time. Elements from at least seven songs (some unreleased) were incorporated into Batdance: 200 Balloons, We Got the Power, House in Order, Rave Unto the Joy Fantastic (later released on the album Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic), The Future, and Electric Chair. Some of these were mere snippets, and other segments showed up only in remixes of the track. The song was also loaded with dialog samples from the film.

The B-side to the Batdance is 200 Balloons, which was recorded for the film and serves as the musical blueprint for the main portion of Batdance. The song was rejected for the film by Tim Burton and replaced with Trust. The lyrics of 200 Balloons reference the scene which it was created for to a greater degree than the replacement track, which is only connected to the scene by the Joker asking Who do you trust? after the song ends. Prince did little more than replace the lyrics of 200 Balloons in its transition into Batdance. Only musical portions survived the transition, but full lyrics showed up in The Batmix(turn your head to the east, I be coming from the west). 200 Balloons also contains samples of House in Order and Rave Unto the Joy Fantastic; the latter was another song submitted for inclusion in the movie, but rejected (it was replaced by Partyman).

    From Acid To Zen (Discontinued)

For the last several years, BigBang have been earning a reputation as one of the most surprising and influential bands to hail from Scandinavia. Coming off the heels of Radio Radio TV Sleep, the best selling live album in Norway's history, BigBang's new album quickly shot to Norway's # 1 album slot. Building on their International success, the band began to play the U.S. in early 2008. Encouraged by radio support from Steve Jones of Jonesy's Jukebox on Indie 103.1 and rave reviews from the U.S. media, the boys returned home to play at the Spot music festival in Denmark and 9 U.K. dates with The Raconteurs. BigBang now returns with their first ever U.S. release From Acid To Zen. The first single will be the track Hurricane Boy.

Led by singer-guitarist Oystein Greni, BigBang lit the powerpop chime and songwriting of Big Star and late-Eighties R.E.M. with the power blues dynamics of Stevie Ray Vaughan's Double Trouble. David Fricke @ Rolling Stone

    Nice, Nice, Very Nice

In August of 2009, Dan Mangan released his sophomore album, Nice, Nice, Very Nice in Canada. After three and a half years of touring his sleeper-hit debut, Postcards and Daydreaming, Dan was ready and eager to unveil a collection of lyrical ruminations that showcased his growth as a songwriter. The album shot to #1 on the iTunes Canada singer/songwriter album chart and at one point simultaneously held the #1 airplay positions CBC Radio 3, The Peak (Vancouver) and Canadian college radio. Rave reviews came from heavy hitting national music magazines as well as countless blogs and print media. Then came the news that Dan had won XM Radios Artist Of The Year as well as CBC Radio prizes for vocalist and song of the year for Robots. Britains NME magazine featured him as one of Canadas most promising acts. In late 2009, Arts & Crafts proudly welcomed Dan Mangan to its growing roster for the U.S. of Nice Nice Very Nice.

    The Carpenter

Produced by Rick Rubin and recorded in North Carolina and Malibu, the record follows the group's 2009 breakthrough release and celebrated major label debut, I and Love and You. That album reached #16 on the Billboard Top 200 and received rave notices from press that includes Rolling Stone (2009 Band to Watch), Paste (voted the #1 album of 2009 and one of the Best Albums of the Decade), Time Magazine (voted one of the Top 10 albums of 2009), New York Times, Billboard, and the Los Angeles Times. The buzz on the band grew so strong, The Avett Brothers were invited to perform on the 2011 Grammy Awards, and then, along with Mumford & Sons, backed up Bob Dylan on his iconic Maggie's Farm.
