This debut album, originally released in 1992, is named after Blues-Rock band The Red Devils' favourite Hollywood spot, which also happens to be the place where they cut this live album.
During the recordings with legendary producer Rick Rubin, they were introduced to Mick Jagger and Johnny Cash, who would later record songs with them and occasionally join them on stage at the Los Angeles club.
The stars were aligned for a bright future for The Red Devils, but unfortunately internal frictions and substance abuse problems put an end to their career in 1994.
Their only full length album, 'King King' is seen as a true Blues classic and Music On Vinyl is honoured to release this album on vinyl for the very first time.LP1

Angels & DevilsIt's after the end of the world, don't you know that yet...
With recent reports from various think tanks predicting we have somewhere in the range of 15 years left before the collapse of society begins, it would seem like Kevin Martin's sonic predictions of dystopian London that were set out on 2008's London Zoo were pretty accurate. And if we are in fact declining rapidly to chaos, there's no better time then the present to take the focus of that sonic assault from earthly domains and blast it to the netherworlds above and below.
The aforementioned London Zoo is where Kevin Martin, found his true voice. Pulling the fringes into a collective, unilaterally hateful assault. A psychological warfare driven by bass that on one hand captured a moment of London, yet also encapsulated a global message influenced by years of timeless and classic out-music.
The latest offering from the The Bug, Angels & Devils, escapes the London cage, drawing on it for influence yet blowing it up into a world-view now seen from Kevin Martin's new Berlin home. A record that simultaneously draws on London Zoo, completes a triptych cycle which started with his Bug debut Pressure, and fills the spaces between and inserts what was missing previously. Both a year zero re-set and a continuation of what has been. Like the Bowie/Eno classic Low, or Can's Tago Mago, the album is split into two distinct themes and explorations of light & dark. Bringing the angel & devil voices together under a single common banner. Antagonist at times, but not solely for the sake of being antagonistic, there's a beauty and lush sparseness to be found within, even when at its most chaotic. Truly only The Bug could find the common ground between Liz Harris (of Grouper) & Death Grips and make it seamless. Angels & Devils stretches the polarity of its predecessor in both directions simultaneously and is even more extreme for its new found seductiveness and added intensity. Deep space is explored, and physical assault is administered. In these days of YouTube quick fixes, and single tune memory spans, its a joy to witness Martin actually charting a cohesive narrative that rejoices in celebrating life through sonic sex and violence, beauty and ugliness. This is an audio thriller that delights in pursuing its own singular path/vision.
With the Angel side(s) up first, things kick off with Liz Harris (of Grouper) in the submerged lushness that is Void. Followed by contributions from ex Hype Wiliams half copeland (Fall), the blissed out patois of touring partner Miss Red (Mi Lost), two truly zoned Bug instrumentals, and rounded out by Gonjasufi on Save Me. It's a collection of heady, dubbed out cinematic blissfulness with a lurking darkness before giving way to devils...
Devils leads off with the return of long time collaborator Flowdan on the mic and the guitar of Justin Broadrick (Godflesh / Jesu) bringing a complete about face to the proceedings and setting the tone with The One. Roll Deep's Manga steps up next with the instant Bug classic Function, which is being currently smashed on dubplate, by Mala, Kahn and Logan Sama. Death Grips raise the antagonistic bar with Fuck A Bitch. Flowdan & Justin Broadrick come back for the cinematic death crawl of Fat Mac. Warrior Queen steps in for hands down the nastiest vocal she's ever delivered (which is saying a lot) for Fuck You, and finally Flowdan steps up again to round it all off with a Devils battle cry of sorts dirty, fuck that murky....
The concept is completed by the artistic expression it's packaged in, courtesy of Simon Fowler (Cataract). Known for his work for Sunn O))), Earth, and others, Simon has delivered a stunning hand drawn illustration, that sort that would make Bosch proud, showing the duality of the proceedings.

When the Devil's LooseRecorded primarily in Water Valley, MS, When The Devil's Loose expands upon the stripped-down and haunting sound of A.A. Bondy's debut album, American Hearts. A full band now accompanies him on most tracks, lending a full, roomy sound to 10 songs of bluesy Americana carried along by Bondy's lived-in voice. When The Devil's Loose sounds almost from another era, whether it's a quiet, spooky twang (Oh The Vampyre), lullaby-like (On The Moon), inflected with old-time R&B (To The Morning), or colored with traces of '60s pop (the buoyant I Can See The Pines Are Dancing and the melancholy, ethereal cadence of When The Devil's Loose).1. V: The Devil's FireFinnish black metal veterans BAPTISM return with 'V: The Devil's Fire', their first new album in four years and their Season of Mist debut. The Devil And ILone Wolf and much of the field recordings that would become The Devil and I took shape in 2009 in various dusty rooms and tape studios around Sweden. Songs and ideas slowly coming together through the eyes of singer and guitarist Paul Marshall and the ears of engineer Kristofer Jonson from Jeniferever who recorded the album. After a month of various recordings, sneaking into concert halls late at night to use the piano, setting up their gear in small village churches, and any other place they could find, the basic album tracks were done. With his transition from Paul Marshall to the artist known as Lone Wolf, the songwriter weaves tapestries of lyrical lust, vengeance and Poe-esque murder together with equally lush instrumentation, further fleshing out his originally bare compositions with sweeping horns, strings and dramatic musical fanfare.1. I'm Not The DevilCody Jinks was raised on country music but he cut his teeth on metal. "Metallica was king. They set the tone for me and I spent a good part of my youth wanting to be James Hetfield." After a dedicated stint as a frontman in a thrash metal band, Jinks willingly found himself back to where it all began. "My dad loved the outlaw country icons, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard. That never ending consistency of incredible music growing up laid some very deep seeds. I'm mean, come on nothing better than mentally diving into 'The Hag' and metal when it comes time for me to write songs."
Always avoiding trends and ferociously choosing his direction was the only option from day one, even though that very path could have prevented success. "What is success if you can't wake up everyday being who you really are. In the end, that will catch up with you." Jinks has been tested countless times by his career choices. The better part of the last 15 years have included numerous empty bar rooms and a never ending financial loss. "Yeah, I've been pretty good at losing money. Not the greatest feeling in the world to be gone from home for long stretches of time, only to walk in the door broke. Luckily I've got a damn good woman in my life. She has stood by me with unmeasurable strength to say the least and it is an absolute fact that I seriously overplayed my hand when landing her."
His long, dark beard and endless array of tattoos are no fad. They unquestionably define Cody Jinks. His prototypical metal/hard rock band frontman look is not a well orchestrated image, but again, define Cody Jinks. Diving into to his album, I'm Not the Devil is the perpetual truth of who he is and where he has found himself at this point in his career. "I'm just glad that I ended up where I am now," Jinks said. "It makes complete sense that I'm at this place in my life. Country music found me when I was young and chased me down as I grew older"
Jinks' latest project is his deepest, darkest and most provocative album to date, with a metal common denominator, the apocalypse, running throughout the record. "It's a pretty scary time," Jinks said. "There are some evil people running things in the world. It hits me since I have a six and three-year old."
There's not a weightier song than the aptly titled "Heavy Load." It's the most apocalyptic song on the album but the dense cut, with a pretty violin break, is a gorgeous tune. The vocal hook grabs ears when Jinks croons "Train Jumps Tracks Some Time Ago/You Can't Root That Heavy Load." "That was the last song I wrote on the record," Jinks said. "I couldn't be happier how that one turned out."
"All You Can" features a pretty piano line and sobering wordplay. When Jinks belts out 'What Are You Living For," you can't help but think about the serious question posed in what is becoming an increasingly shallow existence. "I was really tired when I wrote that song," Jinks said. "We had been on the road for awhile. The bottom line is that if you're not helping people, you're not doing your job as a human being. It's time to quit feeling sorry for yourself and do something."
One of Jinks' favorite songs on the album is "The Way I Am," a cover of a Merle Haggard classic. "I love that song," Jinks says. "I wrapped it up just before Merle died. The song always resonated with me. I relate to that one since there are times I would rather be out fishing."
"No Words" is a stunner of a gritty, autobiographical love song, which is a throwback to how songs used to be written. It is a tuneful gem, inspired by reality. Jinks starts out dark as night. "My Whole View of the World has Changed/ I Guess that Comes with Age/I Don't Believe there is Good in Every Man Like I Did Back Then/I May Drink More Than I Should/You've Seen Me on the Floor/I Spent my Lifetime in this Cage I Built Around Me." But the song is actually a tip of the hat to his beloved wife of 19 years. "There Aint' No Words/ To Say How Much I Need You/With You Here/ You Make This Life I Lead Worth Living." "It's about my wife," Jinks says. "But the funny thing is that she doesn't like it. She thinks it sounds too sad."
With the title track "I'm Not the Devil," Jinks wakes us all up to the realities of mistakes and the heartfelt desire to be forgiven. "We are all guilty of mistakes and very guilty of pointing out the mistakes of others. Forgiveness feels so much better or so I think."
It's impressive how Jinks is getting his message across. Jinks utilizes space well in his songs. Notes aren't crammed in. Jinks lets his songs breathe. "After all I've experienced, I think I've matured," Jinks says. "I think you can hear it in the music. I've grown up."
Even though he still looks the part of the headbanger he was back in the day, he has moved on. "It's all for the best, Jinks says. "I'm where I was meant to be."
It's all about the music and the fans, who are the fuel that drives Jinks. "They come out night after night giving up hard earned money and precious time to see me play," Jinks says. " It's truly is amazing when you really think about it. The best way I can say thanks is by giving back with effort and gratitude."1. The Same

Half Hour of Power is an EP by Canadian rock band Sum 41. It was originally released on June 27, 2000, on Big Rig Records, a subsidiary of Island Records (United States), and Aquarius Records (Canada). Some consider the album to be the band's first studio album. However, the band claims that their next release, All Killer No Filler, is their first debut album.
The first track, Grab The Devil By the Horns and Fuck Him Up the Ass, is a time warp. For a minute and a half, the group relives the new wave of British metal and cranks out an Iron Maiden style tune. After a brief trip down memory lane, the album quickly morphs into pop punk. The songs are well crafted and the hooks are catchy on Make No Difference and Summer. But in some respects that is problematic, there was a time in the pre-Green Day/Blink 182 years where punk defined itself by not being radio friendly. A good album, but essentially proof that turn of the millennium punk is just as much a corporate rock entity as adult contemporary. - Curtis Zimmermann, All Music1. III: Tabula Rasa Or Death And The Seven PillarsTHE DEVIL'S BLOOD announced at the beginning of 2013 that they have returned to nothingness. At the same time, they announced that plans had already been put into motion to release new material.
SL comments on the release: Prior to our disbanding on the 22nd of January 2013, we had been active with the pre-production of what was to be our third album. Seven songs, the complete outline of the album, had been, in humble form, recorded in my home recording studio and these demos were supposed to be the template for our studio recordings. Obviously, we would never make it that far and the initial shock of that fact saddened us greatly. After but a few days we listened to this material again and decided that even though the audio quality might not be what people have come to expect from a THE DEVIL'S BLOOD release, the song material was and is the best we have ever done. We came to the conclusion that these songs deserve to become a part of The Canon and that we would release them as is.
I spent a few days gathering all the demo material together, made a very simple mix and gave the material to our friend and mentor Pieter G. Kloos to master in his studio. Here we present you with the titles of the material and the artwork which was done by Manuel Tinnemans.
The song we have chosen to release now is 'White Storm Of Teeth'. More so than the other material, this song speaks to the completion and transubstantiation that always follows an Occult path. Not the end of a journey but the start of a completely new one. Built around thirteen stanzas in the first part and thirteen stanzas in the second part the process of inner enlightenment through confusion and entropy and the initiation through the Death of the lower self is illustrated. This theme is rampant throughout the record and its lyrics but here it culminates and completely devours itself. After this work no words are needed and, on the album, none are offered.
THE DEVIL'S BLOOD has always been an entity that defied any fealty or thankfulness towards any earthly influence. But we as people need not hold to this paradigm any longer. We therefore wish to express our sincere thankfulness to all those who have supported this weird quest and have made the earthly woes to not work against us. You most definitely know who you are.1. Sad Sappy SuckerAfter stepping up to the major-label plate with The Moon and Antarctica, Modest Mouse reach back to their roots with Sad Sappy Sucker. Sucker is actually the band's first recording, released in 2001 but created back in 1994. It was shelved in favor of Lonesome Crowded West as their debut, but Sucker is still a fine piece of the Modest Mouse lineage.
Although parts of Sucker are experimental compared to the band's current polish, this isn't some rarity to be enjoyed only by collectors. Breezy melodies build into jagged choruses as singer Isaac Brock shows he can be both tender and playfully aggressive. Most of the songs clock in between two and three minutes, leaving room for numerous gems in the course of the 24-track album. While 12 of the songs come from a recording session with K Records' Calvin Johnson, a chunk of Sucker material comes from Brock's Dial-a-Song phase, during which callers heard new songs by dialing into his answering machine. These experiments range from lo-fi combos of distorted instruments and whiny vocals to complete songs, like the bluesy rock jam on Secret Agent X-9. The Dial-a-Songs--and a message left by Murder City Devils front man Spencer Moody (Call to Dial-a-Song)--are both comic relief and proof that Modest Mouse didn't gain their indie-rock cult status by accident. The talent's been there from the beginning. --Jennifer Maerz1. Worms Vs. Birds

Descending Angel'90s-era MISFITS fiend fave Descending Angel has been re-recorded with a brand new 2013 treatment by The Devil's Rain lineup (Jerry Only, Dez Cadena and Eric Chupacabra Arce).
The new single features wicked cover art by Jeff Zornow.
MISFITS released their first proper live album since the 1980s, Dea.d. Alive!, on February 5.
With select tracks from the band's encore set at their hometown show in New Jersey added for good measure, (recorded live on Devil's Night, no less), Dea.d. Alive! is an audio Molotov cocktail guaranteed to have bonfires burning bright with pumpkin faces, day or night, all year round. Speakers will virtually melt as a torrential downpour of Devil's Rain engulfs the senses, catapulting you front row center into a jam-packed house of horrors.
The diverse set of modern day MISFITS classics included range from current hits like Land Of The Dead and Curse Of The Mummy's Hand, on through all-new live versions of earlier-era material like Scream!, Dig Up Her Bones, Helena and more - recorded live, with a level of precision and intensity garnered in over three decades of horror business. In addition to 13 fiendish faves from the band's cryptic catalog, the live set also includes a cover version of the anthem Science Fiction/Double Feature (from the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show) performed by the MISFITS for the first time ever on any release!

Witchcult Today (Awaiting Repress)Colored Vinyl
Witchcult Today is the sixth album by the British doom metal band Electric Wizard. It was recorded entirely on vintage 1970's equipment at Toe Rag Studios and was originally released in November of 2007. The sound of Witchcult Today was less harsh than preceding albums and Jus Oborn's vocals are much more prominent. Upon its release, Witchcult Today was the band's most well-received album.
The band's fascination with horror movies and writers continues here with Satanic Rites of Drugula, a reference to the Hammer Studios horror film of the same name and Dunwich, a reference to H.P. Lovecraft's short story The Dunwich Horror, while Black Magic Rituals & Perversions makes reference to the Jean Rollins film Le Frisson des Vampires (Shiver of the Vampires and to Italian comic book character Zora the Vampire. The album cover of Witchcult Today was edited from the poster for The Devil Rides Out. Limited edition double gatefold colored LP from Metal Blade Records.1. Witchcult Today

REDD-EQU-0114xWe Came As Romans
Understanding What We've Grown To Be (Awaiting Repress)For their 2011 sophomore release, Understanding What We've Grown To Be, We Came As Romans returned to Foundation Recording Studio with their longtime friend and producer, Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack!). The material carries the band's signature sound of intricate guitar riffs, both mosh-worthy and melodic breakdowns, and the flawless intertwining of dual vocals from David Stephens and Kyle Pavone.
Musically and lyrically, Understanding What We've Grown To Be holds a much darker tone than their previous release, To Plant A Seed. While still maintaining the band's overall theme of positivity and brotherhood, the new material takes on a more straightforward approach to life's struggles and the challenges of growing up. The juxtaposition of brutal breakdowns and chugging minor arpeggios with Pavone's smooth croons, Stephens' fierce and gut-wrenching screams, and crisp electronic elements creates an in-your-face sound that is distinctly We Came As Romans.1. Geogaddi'Geogaddi' is arguably one of Boards of Canada's most intriguing works, the kind of album that you could spend hours and hours with, constantly unpicking more meaning from its immaculately textured depths. Released in 2002, the first thing that is clear is its darker way with mood. Still operating in a nostalgia-tinged analogue world, the textures seem to carry more weight. The heavier rhythms and hypnotically crackling samples on 'Music Is Math' and groaning voices on 'Gyroscope' are laced with something approaching menace. There are sparse, almost playful moments too though, which add to the album's beguiling quality. 'The Devil Is In The Details' is a skittering piece of electronics and barely-their voices, 'While Dawn Chorus' is all widescreen, chunky beats that sound like the sun coming up.1. Ready Lets Go
