    Gentle Ben (45 RPM)

That Rich, Humid, Giant Sax Tone Blooms Like On Few Other Webster Recordings

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio

200-Gram Gatefold 45 RPM Double LP Pressed At Quality Record Pressings

...Webster's trademark sensual sound is on full display and, of course, he's backed by Montoliu, an outstanding Spanish piano veteran who accompanied all the great jazz artists passing through Europe...This is one of the first releases by Analogue Productions pressed at their new in-house pressing plant Quality Record Pressings, and the record bears a close resemblance in appearance to records from Pallas - beautiful looking and perfectly quiet...The superb 200-gram LP comes in a rice paper sleeve and jacket of heavy cardboard...Highest Recommendation. Recording = 10/10; Music = 8.5/10 - Dennis D. Davis, Hi-Fi+, Issue 81

This recording was made 10 months before Ben Webster's death in 1972. Webster, who had left the United States in 1965 to settle in Europe - first in Copenhagen and then in Amsterdam - was visiting fellow musician and friend Tete Montoliu in Barcelona. Webster and pianist Montoliu went back a ways, having played together regularly in Webster's Copenhagen days. In fact, Montoliu cited Webster and Don Byas as his two chief musical influences. Webster and Montoliu understood each other deeply, and their comfort with on another is palpable in this recording. Their accompaniment of one another is seamless. On board with these two is Montoliu's regular working trio-mates, Eric Peter on bass and Peer Wyboris on drums.

There's no shortage of Webster's trademark breathy, fat tenor tone here. In fact, given the sparse arrangement, that rich, humid, giant sax blooms like on few other recordings. Highlights include Ben's Blues, Sweet Georgia Brown, The Man I Love and Don't Blame Me.

Mastered Impeccably by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray from the Original RCA Records tapes

    Manufactured at R.T.I

Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the Great Depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during the early
fifties, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs,
of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide
superstar unlike the world has ever known.
The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out his contract
and signed the legend to a long-term deal, and his first RCA single Heartbreak Hotel forever etched "The King of Rock and Roll" trademark
    to his name.

Over the next three decades, Elvis Presley would release dozens of hit albums and tons of smash singles, spend time in the Army, star
in over 35 top charting films, as well as sell out concert tours around the states and Canada making him the most successful solo artist of all
time. In 1977, his career ignited even further thanks to his highly successful tour and his much anticipated newly released LP Moody Blue.
Already gaining popularity in advance thanks to two chart single smashes Moody Blue and Way Down, this masterwork album
included a treasure trove of studio and concert performances that captured a very great time in the musical history of this iconic legend.
In addition to the wonderful hit singles aforementioned, The King reaches back to his early Memphis days with a tribute to Johnny Ace
with Pledging My Love and more fifties classics like The Diamonds' Little Darlin' and Jim Reeves' country smash He'll Have To Go.
Even more hits abound with sensational interpretations of Al Hibbler's classic Unchained Melody which also hit the top ten of the
country music charts, a gospel rockin' version of Let Me Be There and a brilliant reading of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice's classic It's
    Easy For You.

Sadly, this was Elvis Presley's final album as he passed away suddenly on August 16, 1977. The world was never the same after the
tragic news was told that day, as hoards of fans journeyed to his beloved Graceland to pay their heartfelt tribute to The King of Rock and Roll.
Elvis Presley's Moody Blue album, of course already a huge seller prior to his death, would go on to become one of his biggest albums
ever, as fans rushed to the stores to buy his final masterwork. Initially pressed on BLUE vinyl, this amazing album has been out of print on
vinyl for several decades that is until now!

    The Art Of Self Defense

180g double vinyl version from Southern Lord in Stoughton gatefold jacket with 20 page bound in 12" x 12" book and printed inner-sleeves.

Cult metal favorite High On Fire was founded by former Sleep guitarist Matt Pike in the summer of 1998. Berthed out of the need to simply play guitar again, Pike jammed with and settled on a line-up of powerhouse drummer Des Kensel and longtime guitarist compatriot George Rice, who made the switch to bass to round out the trio. They had scarcely been together for a few months before demoing three songs. That demo, featuring "Master of Fists" and instant classics "10,000 Years" and "Blood from Zion," became among the most sought-after tapes in the underground metal scene. High On Fire got straight to the point, bashing away with a neanderthal sense of purpse and creating hyptnotic, droning waves of powerful riffs and low-end thunder of the likes not heard before.

Throughout '99, High On Fire continued writing for their debut full-length. The band recorded their debut with Sleep engineer/producer Billy Anderson at Shark Bite Studios in Oakland, CA. The Art of Self Defense served up a rock hard, unorthodox form of modern metal cloaked in strange religious theology and the trio's style was unique, distinct, heavy as all fuck and absolutely crushing. The album immediately became a cult classic and not even the closure of the label that released the album (Man's Ruin) could stop the powerhouse that had been unleashed. Tee Pee records reissued the album in 2001 with 2 bonus tracks: "Steel Shoes" and a ripping cover of the Celtic Frost song "The Usurper."

Another meticulously packaged vinyl release from the masters of the craft. Without question one of the most supernal releases in the history of the label!
