    Riot!

Riot! is the second studio album by the American rock band Paramore. It was originally released in the United States on June 12, 2007 through Fueled by Ramen as a follow-up to their debut album, All We Know Is Falling (2005). The album was produced by David Bendeth and written by band members Hayley Williams and Josh Farro, with Bendeth, and fellow members Zac Farro and Taylor York co-writing on select tracks. The album is said to explore a diverse range of styles, while not straying far from the signature sound of their debut album, with several critics comparing it to likes of Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne. The cover of the album also resembles the cover artwork of No Doubt's Rock Steady.

Riot! received generally positive reviews from music critics, who praised its sound, and noted its crossover potential. The album was successful in the United States, reaching number fifteen on the Billboard 200 and being certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on July 11, 2008. It was also certified platinum in the United Kingdom by the British Phonographic Industry, and gold in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The lead single, Misery Business, reached top-thirty and forty positions in the US and is considered the band's breakthrough hit; credited with introducing the band to a mainstream audience. The third and fourth singles, crushcrushcrush, and That's What You Get, were also successful with both achieving a gold certification by the RIAA.

The long-lived New York-based heavy metal band Riot was formed in 1976 by guitarist/songwriter Mark Reale, who in time recruited vocalist Guy Speranza, guitarist L.A. Kouvaris, bassist Jimmy Iommi and drummer Peter Bitelli. After debuting in 1977 with Rock City, Kouvaris was replaced by guitarist Rick Ventura, and the group returned in 1979 with Narita; Iommi and Bitelli were the next to exit, and with the recruitment of bassist Kip Leming and drummer Sandy Slavin the classic Riot line-up was in place. Tours in support of AC/DC and Molly Hatchet followed before the release of 1981's Fire Down Under, considered by fans the band's creative peak; with the departure of frontman Speranza, however, Riot suffered a major blow from which they never fully recovered. New vocalist Rhett Forrester made his debut on 1982's Restless Breed, but after issuing Made in America a year later. Reale announced the band's dissolution; after forming a new group, the Mark Reale Project, he reformed Riot in late 1986 with vocalist Tony Moore, bassist Don VanStavern and drummer Bobby Jarzombek. The new line-up's comeback effort, Thundersteel, appeared in 1988, followed two years later by The Privilege of Power; after adding second guitarist Mike Flyntz and replacing VanStavern with bassist Pete Perez, the group toured the Far East, yielding the LP Riot in Japan Live !!! in 1992. After 1994's Nightbreaker, Jarzombek quit Riot, and was replaced by drummer John Macaluso for 1996's The Brethren of the Long House; Jarzombek returned to the fold to release Inishmore two years later, with Sons of Society following in 1999. - Jason Ankeny (All Music Guide)

Bang Your Head: Band's Classic Album Mastered from the Original Master Tapes by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray at Acoustech

Come On, Feel the Noize: Multi-Platinum Hard-Rock Landmark Filled With Great Hooks and Endless Fun

Features Special Gatefold Album Cover With All Original Graphics

Quiet Riot broke through the mainstream with its mega-platinum smash Metal Health album in 1983, which became the first metal-oriented album to hit #1 on the Billboard charts. The hard-working Los Angeles power quartet featured the great vocals and writing of frontman Kevin Dubrow, bassist extraordinaire Rudy Sarzo, power drummer Frank Banali, and guitar shredder Carlos Cavazo. Together, they delivered the goods in a big way, making Metal Health a classic whose appeal spans multiple genres and generations.

Thanks in part to the amazing smash cover version of Slades Cum On Feel The Noize, Metal Health was and still is a fixture at radio and retail. The LP is jam packed with stellar arena anthems including the head-banging title track Metal Health, most recently used in the opening sequence of the award-winning film The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke. Plus, radio-driven rockers like Loves A Bitch, the amazing Breathless, and the blues-oriented Dont Want To Let You Go add variety. Friday Music is proud to be the home of this 180g audiophile vinyl limited-edition edition.

For this limited edition release, Friday Music has gone back to the original Pasha Records/Epic Records tapes, which have been impeccably mastered by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray at AcousTech/RTI. Included is a very limited gatefold album cover with all of the original graphics. This is a much welcomed audiophile dream for the heavy rocker in all of us.

    Quiet Riot

The story of QUIET RIOT begins in 1980 when Kevin DuBrow formed a new band under his own name, working with Frankie Banali and a variety of musicians over the next few years before signing with Pasha/CBS Records, reverting back to the QUIET RIOT moniker, and entering the studio with new guitarist Carlos Cavazo and bassist Chuck Wright to start work on a new album. The year was 1982 and, following Randy Rhoads' well-documented death, former henchman Rudy Sarzo left Ozzy, replacing Chuck Wright who is the bass player on record for both the Metal Health and Don't Wanna Let You Go tracks, to complete the lineup and sessions for what would become 1983's Metal Health.

    Riot Act

    Remastered Reissue - NOT REMIXED

Riot Act is the seventh studio album by American rock band Pearl Jam, originally released on November 12, 2002, through Epic Records. Following a full-scale tour in support of its previous album, Binaural (2000), Pearl Jam took a year-long break. The band then reconvened in the beginning of 2002 and commenced work on a new album. The music on the record featured a diverse sound, including songs influenced by folk, art rock, and experimental rock. The lyrics deal with mortality and existentialism, with much influence from both the political climate after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the accidental death of nine fans during Pearl Jam's performance at the 2000 Roskilde Festival.

There's A Riot Going On was Sly & The Family Stone's answer to Marvin Gaye's What's Going On?, the seminal Soul album that came out five months before the Sly Stone masterpiece. It's a dark, earthy Funk album, that went straight to number 1 upon release. Single Family Affair also topped the charts, and is still one of Sly Stone's most beloved tracks. It manages to capture the era of militant activism and deep social unrest in a brooding, moody album with tension that could cut through steel. It still appears on plenty of 'greatest albums of all time' lists (Rolling Stone placed it on #99 out of 500) and is seen as one of the most important and influential albums of the 1970s.

    Need Your Light

Need Your Light, the fourth full-length album from Syracuses Ra Ra Riot, is the sound of a bands reinvigoration. Correspondingly, the album sees the band getting back to their house party roots without abandoning the more heady soundscapes they explored with 2013s Beta Love.

The band pulled in producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello) in order to start fleshing out ideas. Shortly afterward a writing trip to Milwaukee, the band soon found themselves crafting Need Your Light with a host of previous collaborators including Ryan Hadlock (who produced 2008s The Rhumb Line) and Andrew Maury (who is a longtime friend, collaborator and live sound engineer also co-produced 2010s The Orchard). Also in the mix is Vamprire Weekends Rostam which despite a long history of working with the band (including the Discovery project) this marks the first time hes actually produced a track (Water and Need Your Light).

    Pottymouth

Along with Bikini Kill, Bratmobile spearheaded the riot grrrl revolution of the early 1990s, battling the long-standing dominance of men within the punk rock community to help empower a new generation of female musicians and fans. Comprised of singer Allison Wolfe, guitarist Erin Smith, and drummer Molly Neuman, Bratmobile made their debut at 1991's International Pop Underground convention; after a handful of singles-with members spread out between California, Washington, and Maryland, recording was a logistical nightmare-the trio finally released Pottymouth in 1993.

    New Normal Catastrophe

This 5-song 12 EP is blazing fast and intelligent hardcore, 80s style, a la AOF's classic What We Want Is Free EP (1982) & Give Thanks LP (1984). Recorded at Chicago's Million Yen Studios (Cheap Trick, Effigies, Local H, Smoking Popes) on July 4, 2010, these 5 songs show the band members' continuing political involvement and brutal musical chops. This lineup had not written or recorded together since 1985's In This Life LP.

New Normal Catastrophe was mixed by J. Robbins (of Jawbox & Report Suspicious Activity [a collaboration between J. Robbins and AOF's Vic Bondi]) in Baltimore, MD.

This 5-song 12 is released in time for the return of the original lineup to the stage at Chicago's annual RIOT FEST from October 6-October 10, 2010. This lineup has not played live together since July 1985!

    Meat And Bone

Meat and Bone is the first studio album by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion (Judah Bauer, Russel Simins and Jon Spencer) in eight years and it's a blistering return to form. The album was recorded on Sly Stone's Riot Flickinger console at the legendary Key Club Recording Studio in Benton Harbor, MI and mad mixed in the jungles of New York City.

The new album comes on the heels of the meticulous and loving 2010 reissues of the band's Matador albums, including the classics Extra Width, Orange and Now I Got Worry, and the long out-of-print seminal Pussy Galore catalog. It was amid this period of looking back, that Spencer, Simins and Bauer began the process of moving forward.

    Bricks Are Heavy

Bricks Are Heavy was the third album by L7 originally released in 1992. Produced by Butch Vig Bricks Are Heavy is somewhat poppier with more focused songwriting than their previous LP's and was the bands breakthrough album fueled by the success of the single Pretend We're Dead. L7 was often associated with the then raging Grunge movement (even though they were from L.A.) and it's not hard to see why as the album features abrasive, sledgehammer guitar riffs and plenty of heavy rockers with the songs Wargasm, Slide, and Everglade. The group emphasized their feminist and Riot Grrrl side with This Ain't Pleasure and Diet Pill. First domestic release on vinyl for this early 90s alternative classic.

    The Living End

Australian Punk Rockabilly outfit The Living End had formed in 1994 in Melbourne by Chris Cheney on guitar and lead vocals, and Scott Owen on double bass and backing vocals. In 1996 they were joined by Travis Demsey on drums.

In 1997, they had achieved mainstream success with their EP Second Solution / Prisoner Of Society, peaking at No. 4 on the Australian Singles Chart. More singles followed, which can be found on their self titled 1998 debut: Prisoner of Society, Save the Day, All Torn Down, West End Riot and the US-only single Trapped.

The album reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and remained in the top 50 for 63 weeks. The Living End was certified 4× Platinum by Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). As of today, it is the band's most successful album. The cover art, as described by front man Chris Cheney, is based on a photograph of a World War I all-female bomb factory.
