    Going Back Home

Wilko Johnson, legendary guitarist with Canvey Island pub rock pioneers Dr Feelgood, and Roger Daltrey, lead singer of rock giants The Who will release
a joint album on the world famous Chess label which has been resurrected especially for the purpose. The album features at total of 11
tracks, 10 of which are Wilko originals from both his Dr Feelgood days and solo years while one track is a cover version of Bob Dylan's Highway 61
Revisited classic "Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window".

The album mostly features re-makes of vintage Wilko gems, including the Feelgoods' "All Through The City", "Keep It Out Of Sight" and "Going Back
Home" - the latter co-written in 1975 with Johnny Kidd & The Pirates' guitarist Mick Green - plus "Everybody's Carrying A Gun", originally recorded by his
post-Feelgoods group The Solid Senders, and the solo '80s rockers "Ice On The Motorway" and "I'm Going To Keep It To Myself". There is also a hidden
gem, the heart-wrenching ballad Turned 21, which has never been properly released or performed live.

One of the artists who defined Memphis Soul and put Stax Records on the map, Rufus Thomas is known for liking his R&B hard-edged, gritty and earthy. That approach served him impressively well on his debut album Walking The Dog.

In contrast to the sleeker, more elaborate production style favored by Motown, Rufus Thomas rejects Pop elements altogether and thrives on rawness on his hits Walking The Dog and The Dog as well as inspired versions of Land Of 1000 Dances (which became a major hit for Wilson Pickett), Lee Dorsey's Ya Ya and John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom.

The title track became his biggest hit. The song was covered by The Rolling Stones in 1964. Many other artists have covered the song, including Aerosmith, Roger Daltrey, Green Day, The Flamin' Groovies, The Sonics, The Trashmen and more.

I Keep It To Myself - The Best Of Wilko Johnson

I Keep It To Myself - The Best Of Wilko Johnson draws together 25 tracks recorded between 2008 and 2012 by the legendary guitarist and songwriter with backing largely provided by Blockheads Norman Watt-Roy (bass) and Dylan Howe (drums), the same rhythm section that performed on Wilko's enormously successful Going Back Home album with Roger Daltrey.

Including re-workings of Wilko penned Dr Feelgood favorites 'She Does It Right', 'Twenty Yards Behind', 'Sneaking Suspicion' and 'Roxette', alongside further dynamic numbers such as 'Turned 21', 'Some Kind Of Hero', 'Out In The Traffic', 'Barbed Wire Blues', 'Down By The Waterside' and 'I Really Love Your Rock 'n' Roll' I Keep It To Myself - The Best Of Wilko Johnson is a splendid collection of high-octane rhythm & blues with that unmistakable Wilko Johnson Fender greatness stamped all over it. Blow Your Mind (Pre-Order)

There are moments when you could be forgiven for thinking you're listening to excerpts from a great lost Dr. Feelgood album from their mid-70s peak. The tales of good love, bad love, uppers and downers are all there, yet there's an energy to them which surely comes from the man and his band being back from the brink, enjoying what they do best.

Wilko's first album of new material in 30+ years. Recorded at Rockfield Studios, where famously Wilko and the Feelgoods parted company back in '77. Guests are Mick Talbot on keyboards and Steve Weston on harmonica, both of whom featured on the last record with Roger Daltrey. Produced by Dave Eringa who also produced Going Back Home (Manic Street Preachers, The Who).

The Iron Man: The Musical by Pete Townshend, originally released in 1989, is an adaptation of Ted Hughes' story The Iron Man, produced and largely composed and performed by Pete Townshend of The Who. It also stars Roger Daltrey, Deborah Conway, John Lee Hooker, and Nina Simone.

The three then-surviving members of The Who (Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Townshend) performed as a group in two songs, Dig and Fire, although the latter was not penned by Townshend. (The Who would later perform Dig live during their 1989 reunion tour.)

A Friend is a Friend and I Won't Run Anymore were released as singles; Fire was also issued as a promo-only in the United States.

A stage version was mounted at the Young Vic theatre in London in 1993. On the strength of this, Warners optioned the story for a movie which, with a very different adaptation of the story, became The Iron Giant; Townshend received an Executive Producer credit.

The Who: The Studio Albums (Box Set)

A Quick One Ranked 383/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.

The most explosive live act ever to appear on stage, The Who stands alone in rock music. Propelled by the most staggeringly brilliant rhythm section in all popular music, layered with deafening power chords and thunderous vocal fury, The Who transcended its original billing as "Maximum R&B" to become the most musically inventive and structurally innovative band of all time.

Together, the four divergent personalities of The Who produced a hurricane. Each member of the group was a pioneer. Wildman drummer Keith Moon beat his kit with a chaotic elegance; stoic bassist John Entwistle held down the center with the melodic virtuosity of a solo guitarist; raging intellectual Pete Townshend punctuated the epic universality of his songs with the windmill slamming of his fingers across his guitar strings; and Roger Daltrey roared above it all with an impossibly virile macho swagger.

They exploded conventional rhythm and blues structures, challenged pop music conventions, and redefined what was possible on stage, in the recording studio, and on vinyl. Never before or since has spiritual and intellectual brilliance sounded so gloriously furious!

Alone among the great bands, The Who has found itself at the center of every major rock event from Monterey, Woodstock, and the Isle of Wight to the Concert for Kampuchea, Live Aid, and the Concert for NYC. In any era, The Who is a true touchstone for rock and roll greatness. They have sold over 100 million albums and won every award including Grammys, Brit Awards and Lifetime Achievement and have been inducted into both the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and UK Music Hall of Fame!
