    Grievous Angel

Gram Parsons pioneered the concept of a rock band playing country music, playing in bands such as The Byrds, The International Submarine Band and The Flying Burrito Brothers. His work has influenced both country and rock artists such as The Rolling Stones and Linda Ronstadt by blending the two genres to the point that they became indistinguishable from each other.

Compiled from 1973 studio sessions 'Grievous Angel' was originally released in 1974, four months after the songwriters death. It was the second solo album from Gram Parsons and is viewed as a successful example of the hybrid between country androck and rollParsons called Cosmic American Music. In 2003 it was ranked in Rolling Stone magazine's 500 greatest albums of all time.

    In Between

New Jersey indie-rock pioneers the Feelies are celebrating
their 40th anniversary with the release of "In Between" their
first album of all new material in over 6 years. While working
the post-VU moves they are famous for this album brings
some interesting new sonics into the mix. The album is both
quieter and decibolically furious than anything they've ever
    done.

Impose Magazine recently called The Feelies " one of the
most influential bands in the history of alternative and underground
music" and Rolling Stone cites them as "a template
of formal perfection." They have influenced bands like REM,
Yo La Tengo, Real Estate and WEEZER. "In Between" is rock
and roll that feels both classic and modern.

    Funeral Sky

Funeral Sky is the stunning debut album from Reuben And The Dark, the harmonious collection of five multi-instrumentalists lead by Calgary's Reuben Bullock. This suite of eleven carefully crafted songs evokes the full spectrum of the group's uplifting folk and gripping soul, with depth and seamlessness that bely their youth. The dramatic Bow And Arrow flows into the summer tint of Devil's Time; the expanse between anthemic Rolling Stone and Marionette, with its stark beauty, showcases the effortless range of Reuben And The Dark, exploring the duality of misery and joy with introspective dirges and glinting, earthen atmosphere. Funeral Sky is produced by Christopher Lloyd Hayden (Florence & The Machine) and Stephen Kozmeniuk (Madonna, Nicki Minaj, The Game feat. Kanye West), and is mixed by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele).

Recorded between February and October at Olympic Studios in Barnes, West London during what was the most difficult time in the band's career, against a background of personal issues and criminal trials, Their Satanic Majesties Request is an eclectic mix of music that includes "She's a Rainbow" which made No.2 in America and second record that was released as a single in America as, Bill Wyman's "In Another Land", Bill wrote the track and it features Steve Marriott from the Small Faces on vocals. There were no UK single releases from the album that took its inspiration for its title from the words inside a British passport, "Her Britannic Majesty's Secretary of State requests and requires ".

    On Air

On Air is a collection of rarely heard radio recordings from the Stones formative years. The songs including 8 tracks the band have never recorded or released commercially, were originally broadcast on UK shows such as Saturday Club, and Top Gear between 1963 and 1965. The tapes have gone through the "audio source separation" process, making tracks like Come On, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, and many more sound better than before.

    Summer Skin

Summer Skin, the new album from Amy Cook is set for release on Roothouse Records/Thirty Tigers. The 12-songs on Summer Skin feature an all-star band, special cameos and Cook's strongest songwriting and recording to date. Cook successfully achieves the perfect balance between intelligent, thoughtful singer/songwriter and strong rock chick. Rolling Stone desribes Cook as "a brassier, dusty Deborah Harry."

Summer Skin represents a new plateau for Cook as an artist. "This is the happiest I've ever been with anything I've ever recorded," says Cook, "I was working with people who really were able to get into my mind and help me let go of my expectations, instead of worrying 'is this gonna rock hard enough or be rootsy enough or be smart enough.'"

Those people begin with producer Craig Street, whose long list of credits includes Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson, Joe Henry and K.D. Lang. Then comes an all-star band, featuring David Garza (guitar), Me'Shell N'Degeocello (bass), Chris Bruce (guitar) and Jonathan Wilson (drums).

Cook had a few other friends make some special contributions to Summer Skin. Robert Plant sings harmony with Cook on the beautiful "It's Gonna Rain," and joins Patty Griffin on the moody "Airplane Driver." Ben Kweller co-wrote and sings back up on the catchy rocker "Getting To You."

    A Salty Dog

Procol Harum Fuses Classical Structures, Rock Motifs, and Sweeping Melodies with Unparalleled Virtuosity: A Salty Dog Features Ravishing Symmetry Between Piano, Organ, Guitar, and Strings

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes for Reference-Level Sound, Clarity, and Presence: Ultra-Dynamic Mobile Fidelity 180g Vinyl LP Limited to 3,000 Numbered Copies

A call for all hands on deck opens Procol Harum's third album, and with that command, an effort that witnesses the band coming into its own as a collective capable of fusing classical structures with rock motifs via an expertise, virtuosity, and style matched by none of its peers is on its way to making history. A Salty Dog survives as proof no other artist ever sounded like Procol Harum - while also demonstrating few collectives boasted a lineup full of such ace instrumentalists. Stacked with exploratory themes, boundary-crossing directions, and sweeping melodies, A Salty Dog proudly veers off traditional course and ventures to intrepid places forbidden to even the most thrill-seeking groups of the highly experimental era.

Mastered from the original master tapes, pressed at RTI, and strictly limited to 3,000 numbered copies, Mobile Fidelity's 180g vinyl LP takes its place as the definitive-sounding analog version of the record. The intertwined symmetry between organist Matthew Fisher and pianist Gary Brooker, central to every song on the set, gets revealed with newfound detail, openness, and clarity. Produced by Fisher, A Salty Dog now resonates with a presence and immediacy stunted on prior editions. The full-bodied tones, front-to-back imaging, and grand dynamics inherent on this audiophile edition elevate the 1969 favorite to landmark status. In addition, the evocative cover art, which pays homage to the Player's Navy Cut logo, is reproduced in faithful-to-the-original fashion.

The cinematic breadth of the sonics parallels the scope of the bold arrangements, which include strings, recorders, bells, celeste, and a myriad of guitars. Brooker and Fisher split vocal duties, save for on Crucifiction Lane, which boasts a rare lead from marvel-in-the-making Robin Trower. The latter's prodigious guitar lines add another distinctive element to the compositions and further up the ante of the interplay between Brooker and Fisher. Trower accents tracks such as the topsy-turvy The Milk of Human Kindness with bluesy vibes and jolts Juicy John Pink by way of jukejoint energy. Not to be outdone, B.J. Wilson's still-unsung percussion draws from R&B and swing techniques to supply a natural albeit firm footing.

For all the proficient playing and narrative storytelling, the most impressive feat surrounding A Salty Dog remains its accessible complexity and relative modesty. Procol Harum never comes across as pretentious, self-indulgent, or contrived. Anchored by Fisher's unique Hammond M102 organ riffs, the works function as a summation of their parts. Tunes like Wreck of the Hesperus serve as wondrously varied tapestries stitched with swelling chamber rhythms, barbed thickets of distortion, and thundering progressions. It's a ravishing picture of majestic subtlety and sheer power.

NME wrote shortly after the record's release that the most exciting facet of this tremendous album is not so much that it contains the Procols' best recorded works to date, but that their potential is still nowhere near being fully spent. Rolling Stone concurred, observing, 'Too Much Between Us' is the kind of song you can float away on - its background and vocal of marimba and acoustic guitar in a perfectly understated waltz-time are beautifully ethereal.

A notable footnote, Fisher departed Procol Harum shortly after the release of A Salty Dog, permanently impacting the band's trajectory and sound. His performances here are just one reason this inimitable album carries sway nearly five decades after its release.

Love Over Gold (45 RPM) (Pre-Order)

Dire Straits Stretch Out With Extended, Ambitious Arrangements And Moody Atmospherics: Love Over Gold Mesmerizes With Tension, Contrast, Interplay, And Craftsmanship

Mobile Fidelity 45RPM 2LP Set Of Love Over Gold Touts Unsurpassed Spaciousness, Imaging, And Transparency: Mastered From The Original Tapes, Music Emerges With New Details And Tones

Love Over Gold Includes The Epic Telegraph Road And Aching Private Investigations: Heartfelt Narrative Songs Steeped In Patience, Drama, Sadness, And Romance

Love Over Gold is all about contrast, tension, and crafty composition. Dire Straits' fourth album finds the band continuing to evolve by welcoming increasingly bold arrangements and exploring moody variations. Parts edgy and sharp, and part seductive and relaxed, the five lengthy songs on Love Over Gold sprawl out like a long, winding road cutting through a pastoral landscape. The addition of a new rhythm guitarist, Hal Lindes, encourages deeper atmospheric interplay while the presence of engineer Neil Dorfsman - his first appearance in what would be a long string of collaborations with Mark Knopfler - ensures stunning sonic properties that now come to life like never before.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's 180g 45RPM 2LP version of Love Over Gold teems with superb balances, front-to-back soundstages, and crystalline purity. The dead-quiet surfaces and extra-wide grooves bring forward previously obscured details, extra information, and mastering-studio-quality transients. The distinctive textures of a host of instruments - marimbas, acoustic and electric guitars, vibes, synthesizers - further enhance the ambitiousness of the 1982 album.

On this audiophile pressing, everything Knopfler does seemingly turn to gold. Gearheads will hear the unique characteristics afforded by his use of a Mesa Boogie Mark II guitar amplifier (soon again employed on Brothers in Arms) and carefully chosen selection of Schecter Stratocasters, 1937 National steel guitar, and Ovation six- and twelve-string models. Reference-level separation and lifelike imaging place Knopfler and company in your room, while tube-like warmth, spaciousness, and airiness causes the music to breathe anew. This LP will be in your rotation for months.

It doesn't take long to realize Love Over Gold is like no other Dire Straits album - and a staunch proclamation of independence from a band that continued to take longer creative strides with each successive project. Fearlessly extending over metaphoric hills, valleys, and plains for nearly 14-and-a-half minutes, the opening Telegraph Road is a guitar hero's dream and exhilarating showcase for Lindes' give-and-take capabilities. In tandem with keyboardist Alan Clark, Lindes provides the ideal foil for not only Knopfler but the long-time rhythm section of bassist John Illsley and drummer Pick Withers.

Taking its time to arrive at destinations, the quintet paints evocative musical and lyrical portraits steeped in patience, drama, and, often times, sadness. Desolate emotions color the sweeping Telegraph Road and barren Private Investigations, which finds Knopfler in the role of a tired private eye contemplating the emptiness and scars of his profession. Vocally, the Dire Straits leader remains in top form throughout, his whiskey-coated rasp conveying romantic ache, ongoing frustration, and what Rolling Stone beautifully deemed wracking schizophrenia between the heart and the heartless, the loving and the pain.

Called Dire Straits' prog-rock statement, Love Over Gold is a classic that defies labeling and avoids aging.

    Breakfast In America (Pre-Order)

Supertramp's Blockbuster Features Catchy Hooks, Rhapsodic Melodies, Symphonic Bluster, Meticulous Production: Breakfast in America Includes The Logical Song, Take the Long Way Home

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes for Supreme Sonics: Mobile Fidelity's 180g Vinyl LP Presents the Record's Famed Dynamics, Colors, Tones, and Instrumentation in Full-Range Glory

Supertramp's Breakfast in America has it all: Illustrious artwork. Sing-a-long hooks. Contagious melodies. Symphonic bluster. Rhapsodic thrust. Signature Wurlitzer electric piano sounds. Two Grammy Awards, including one for Best Engineered Album. More than 20 million copies sold. Four Billboard hit singles that continue to dominate radio airplay today. Every aspect of the chart-topping art-rock set screams blockbuster, not the least of which is the production, the result of painstaking studio setups and months of mixing. Now, you can experience the sonic brilliance in unprecedented clarity on Mobile Fidelity's definitive analog reissue.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, this numbered, limited-edition 180g LP wrings out the record's dynamics, colors, and tones in all their full-range glory. Absent artificial ceilings, Breakfast in America unfolds with an expansiveness and radiance that parallels the vibrancy of its iconic New York-themed cover. Crucial traits such as imaging, separation, balance, transients, and openness achieve near-epic levels of realism and presence. Songs unfold and breathe on mammoth soundstages that put the effort's legendary production - and stellar playing - into proper perspective. The 1979 set has been reissued multiple times in the past, but it's never sounded so engaging, lifelike, or entertaining. If you think you know the record backwards and forwards, wait until you hear this version.

Indeed, aside from the undeniably catchy nature of the ten tracks, fun remains the most central element of Breakfast in America. The band even titled the record to fall in line with the overall joyful feeling of the material. About the latter: Few late 1970s rock albums feature a more cohesive, harmony-drenched parade of stunningly executed, wondrously arranged works. The collective offspring of members Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson, each tune reflects the creative pulses of each musician, with the resultant contrasts lending to their appeal. Davies' penchant for grittier, bluesy strands blends with Hodgson's witty, pop-leaning techniques. The combination proves unstoppable.

Home to a quartet of commercial staples - The Logical Song, Goodbye Stranger, Take the Long Way Home, and the title track - Breakfast in America teems with arena-sized drama, meticulous craftsmanship, and mesmerizing refrains. Shrewd lyrical turns abound, whether on the phonetic, adjective-stacked The Logical Song, life-in-America portrait Child of Vision, or move-to-L.A. saga Gone Hollywood. U.S. references also dot the smash title track, which reflects the glib humor, romantic fantasies, and pop culture permeating the record.

Breakfast in America also retains its vitality because of its expert instrumentation and placement. Deemed a a textbook-perfect album of post-Beatles, keyboard-centered English art rock that strikes the shrewdest possible balance between quasi-symphonic classicism and rock & roll by Rolling Stone shortly after its release, the record serves as a blueprint of reference-setting production and mixing. Check the scorching guitar outro on Goodbye Stranger, gospel accents on Lord Is It Mine, saxophone lines on Take the Long Way Home, or chemistry of the choruses on basically every piece here. It's enough to make one long for the 70s again.

Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood have announced the release of their fourth studio album, Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel, via Robinson's own Silver Arrow Records. The band relocated to northern California for the sessions, recording on the side of a mountain overlooking the foggy Pacific Ocean and channeling the natural majesty of their surroundings into the album's eight sprawling tracks. Having spent the prior two years touring relentlessly, the CRB were road-tested and in peak form to capture their kinetic chemistry and immersive sound, which Uncut Magazine called, " a celebration of how American musical traditions can be at once honored and psychedelically expanded."

"It was an opportunity to see where our expression could take us. For us, when it comes to making records, the looser it gets the better," says Robinson. "It's all about taking our intuition and following it to where our ideas can really manifest themselves. This turned out to be the most spontaneous record I've ever been a part of."

Indeed, when the Chris Robinson Brotherhood entered the studio to begin recording the album, no one knew just what to expect. These would be the band's first recordings with new drummer Tony Leone (Ollabelle, Levon Helm) and their first time producing themselves. Robinson purposely left as much open-ended as possible. Rather than coming into the studio with a collection of finished songs as he had in the past, he would present the group with sketches-a verse and melody here, a chorus and chord progression there-and let the band follow its collective muse to bring the music to life. They'd lean into the improvisational nature that makes their live shows such enthralling spectacles and thrive on the unexpected.

"All it takes is one good, small idea, and then if everyone's focused and in the moment, a few hours later, you can have something that you realize you'll be playing for as long as you're making music," Robinson continues. "I think when everyone's aware that that's the sort of magic that we're looking for. More than any other session that I've ever been a part of, that's how all of these songs were done."

The album kicks off with "Narcissus Soaking Wet," a psychedelic toe-tapper that marks Robinson's first co-write with keyboardist Adam MacDougall. It touches on everything from Dylan and Parliament Funkadelic to psych rock and Chicago rhythm and blues. "Ain't It Hard But Fair" calls to mind the soulful Americana of The Band, while "Oak Apple Day" is a mediation on life in the CRB, and "Forever As The Moon" came together in a stream of consciousness between The CRB's lead guitarist Neal Casal and Robinson. "Leave My Guitar Alone" was a song Robinson had been sitting on for nearly 15 years, but only once he presented it to the rest of the band did it roar to life in a way that had eluded him for more than a decade. Some of Robinson's finest writing to date arrives in the album's final minutes, with the country-soul, gospel-tinged closer "California Hymn," which finds him singing "Glory glory hallelujah / It's time to spread the news / Though my good words may sound profane to some."

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood emerged in 2011 by playing close to 50 shows over nine weeks in California before ever leaving the Golden State or officially releasing music. Their introduction on the national stage came in 2012 when they'd release not one, but two acclaimed full-length albums within a few months of each other. Critics hailed their sprawling debut, Big Moon Ritual, as a revelation, with The Independent raving that Robinson had "finally found the ideal vehicle to indulge his taste for 'Cosmic California Music.'" The reviews were similarly ecstatic for its immediate follow-up, The Magic Door, which was praised by Relix as "classic rock in the finest sense." The band's epic tour schedule brought their shimmering acid-Americana around the world for a staggering 118-date tour, firmly establishing the CRB as the new standard-bearers of the psychedelic roots torch. In 2014, they returned to the studio for Phosphorescent Harvest, a masterful collection that showcased the blossoming songwriting partnership between Robinson and Neal Casal. Rolling Stone raved that the album was "electrifying boast[ing] a vintage rock vibe that's at once quirky, trippy, soulful and downright magnetic," and Guitar World called it "a treasure trove of soul that advances the band's bluesy, kaleidoscopic sound."

    Life

By late 1968, the third album by Sly & the Family Stone absolutely blew the roof off the building. Life sounded so tangibly real it almost seemed like it was cut live. The title track, along with Love City, Plastic Jim, Into My Own Thing and especially Dynamite! signaled a perfect alliance between Sly's multi-influence, far-reaching musical vision and the burgeoning hippie ballroom community, already spreading like lawn daisies throughout the land. Never before had juicily syncopated beats dovetailed so perfectly with distortion-laced rock guitar. You don't have to die before you live, sings Sly on Life and he's not kidding! The lyrical content of Sly's music becomes even more graphic with detailed workouts like Jane Is A Groupee, a riveting description of this fascinating rock 'n' roll sub-culture. Then, on the other hand, you have the full-bore party numbers like M'Lady and Fun, songs fully capable of launching anybody's weekend with reckless abandon!

    Anthology - Greatest Hits

180 Gram Translucent Gold Colored Vinyl With Gatefold Cover

Anthology essentially replicates the previous collection Greatest Hits and adds singles from There's a Riot Goin' On and Fresh to the end of the album. Where Greatest Hits didn't follow a chronological order, Anthology presents every single in the order it was released -- and, with the exception of the latter-day singles and the inclusion of Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey, that is the major difference between the two collections. Anthology goes for a sweeping, definitive overview, while Greatest Hits is a brief blast of 12 of the finest singles of the rock & roll era. Either compilation functions as an excellent introduction, but Anthology is more comprehensive, giving it the edge as a first purchase.

Maggot Brain is the third studio album by the American funk band Funkadelic, released in 1971 on Westbound Records. It was the last album that featured the original Funkadelic lineup; shortly after Maggot Brain was recorded, Tawl Ross, Eddie Hazel, Billy Nelson, and Tiki Fulwood left the band for various reasons. The album incorporates musical elements of psychedelia, rock, gospel, and soul music, with significant variation between each track. Pitchfork Media named it the seventeenth best album of the 1970s.

    Ride Your Heart

On the heels of three well-received singles comes Ride Your Heart, the bombastic debut album by LA band Bleached. Sisters Jennifer and Jessie Clavin match their ability to blend a mix of freewheeling '77 punk with vintage sunny Southern California melodic rock and roll; creating blindingly bright hooks and dark heartfelt lyrics about love, loss, and the crazy fun moments in between. That's the goal: the sugary and sour, repurposed by two aggressively harmonic musicians and songwriters. Their first single Next Stop epitomizes this movement - fun, raw, adventurous and free. Tossing you out onto the dance floor, hair mussed from make-outs, cigarette still dangling from your fingertips.

As a whole, the twelve tracks on Ride Your Heart reveal the many facets of Bleached's music in a delicious vortex of playful harmonies, tangled guitars, and golden noise. Each song brings a new element, while also imbibing the classic moods of bands as varied and iconic in nature as The Ramones and The Cars to The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac. From the syncopated backbeat and two-part chorus of Dead In Your Head,, the rolling riffs and sparkling melodies of Searching Through The Past and the pulsating energy and urgency of Dreaming Without You and Outta My Mind, Bleached take you on a sweeping emotional roller coaster that churns and burns. Ride Your Heart is a thrilling, beating, glorious wall of sound strong enough to withstand its own impact.

    Remastered

After their 1972 breakthrough album & hitsingle All The Young Dudes, Mott The Hoople released their Mott album.
The single 'All the Way from Memphis' received considerable airplay on U.S. radio and the LP became the band's best seller to date in the U.S. Using the glam rock craze as their launch pad, the band straddled the widening gap between the teen-pop market and the college circuit. The LP Mott climbed into the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart.

By the time Mott was released it was clear that Ian Hunter had become the dominant figure of the band. Aside from the lead track, the album includes introspective songs such as Ballad of Mott The Hoople, which exposes Mott's near break-up, and the peculiar I Wish I Was Your Mother, featuring multi-tracked mandolin, in which Hunter sings of his wish to see his love as a child. Hard rockers are given their due with 'Whizz Kid', 'Drivin' Sister', 'Violence' and 'Honaloochie Boogie'. A fine performance is delivered by Hunter in the almost religious 'Hymn for the Dudes'.

In 2003, the album was ranked number 366 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

    Al Green Greatest Hits

Ranked 52/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Al Green was the first great soul singer of the '70s and arguably the last great Southern soul singer. With his seductive singles for Hi Records in the early '70s, Green bridged the gap between deep soul and smooth Philadelphia soul. He incorporated elements of gospel, interjecting his performances with wild moans and wails, but his records were stylish, boasting immaculate productions that rolled along with a tight beat, sexy backing vocals, and lush strings. The distinctive Hi Records sound that the vocalist and producer Willie Mitchell developed made Al Green the most popular and influential soul singer of the early '70s. Greatest Hits epitomizes that trademark sound with 10 of the R&B legends' all-time classics.

    Pain In My Heart

    Import

This album works on so many different levels, that it's essential listening for at least three categories of buyer -- fans of Otis Redding and Stax Records (natch), and more general soul listeners, and also anyone serious about their devotion to the work of the Rolling Stones and any other British invasion bands that covered American soul. Pain In My Heart was practically a road map to Mick Jagger and any number of other would-be white soul shouters in the UK, not just on the title track but also numbers like the hard rocking Hey Hey Baby. For someone only 22 years old at the time of these sessions, and just two years past his first 45 rpm record, Redding exudes astonishing power, energy and boldness, though it's all packaged with greater restraint than his subsequent records did. This was the only LP that Redding recorded during the lifetime of his idol, Sam Cooke, and his version of You Send Me is the least stylized of any of his renditions of Cooke's songs -- later on, after Cooke's death, he would throw more of himself into it. The very fact that he was covering Cooke's soul classic shows an essential difference between Redding's and Cooke's early LPs; as Redding was on a soul label, no one tried to make him into a pop singer as that'd done at RCA with Cooke -- thus, he was running on all cylinders right out of the starting gate, though he wouldn't get really interesting or show his full depth until two albums later. But even covering Rufus Thomas's The Dog, Richard Berry's Louie Louie, Little Richard's Lucille, or Ben E. King's Stand By Me, he's already doing 70% of what we came to expect from Otis Redding in the years ahead -- his writing, apart from Security, These Arms Of Mine and That's What My Heart Needs, was still somewhat less than memorable, but this is still a first-rate debut.

Warpaint, the all-girl quartet from Los Angeles, weave intricate guitar lines, hypnotic vocals and driving post punk rhythms into gorgeous, sprawling songs that skirt the line between psychedelia and intimacy. Both live and on record, Warpaint sound like theyre channelling something truly otherworldly, mystical. The Fool is their utterly mesmeric debut full-length album on Rough Trade Records and follows-up 2009s Exquisite Corpse EP.

The Fool was produced and mixed by Tom Biller (Liars, Jon Brion, Sean Lennon) in Los Angeles, with further mixes from Andrew Weatherall (Bjork, My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream) and Adam Samuels (John Frusciante, Daniel Lanois). Warpaint is Emily Kokal (vocals/guitar), Theresa Wayman (guitar/vocals), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass/vocals) and Stella Mozgawa (drums).

One of the years most promising new acts, Warpaint construct mysterious songs that pair the rhythmic chug of Pylon with the otherworldly eeriness of Throwing Muses. - Rolling Stone

    Ode To Sunshine

The rousing debut of this San Diego quintet impresses mightily. Delta Spirit's rough barroom pop is its own creature, with jangly pianos, rattling drums, and scruffy acousic guitars making a thrilling ruckus. - Spin

"Ode To Sunshine is brimming with gritty, staggering soul that floods the gap between
the Stones' R&B-inflected early oeuvre and Cold War Kids' world-weary keening."
    - The Onion AV Club

Classic-era Rolling Stones. An amplified, rocking version of `60s protest folk. The
raw spirit of indie rock. All of these comparisons have been made in attempts to
describe Delta Spirit, the southern California 5-piece who might just be one
of the most important new bands of the decade.

Ode To Sunshine was originally released by Rounder records in 2008 and exemplified
the band's forward thinking and genre-bending music. Considered a hallmark
of the band's catalog, Dualtone is now re-releasing Ode on vinyl (and on
180 gram premium vinyl for the first time) after being long out-of-print.
