Rolling Stones Live'
Sweet Summer Sun-Hyde Park LiveThis summer, over 100,000 delirious fans packed into Hyde Park for two spectacular outdoor concerts to see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood do what they do best. The Stones delivered a five star performance packed full of hits such as 'Start Me Up', 'Brown Sugar', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Miss You', 'It's Only Rock 'N' Roll', 'Gimme Shelter', 'Doom And Gloom' and 'Sympathy For The Devil', as well as one or two surprises.
Mick Jagger said: "It was a great gig It was beautiful with the sun going down over Hyde Park. I can't think of a better way celebrate the Rolling Stones' 50 than doing it on our home patch in front of 100,000 people on a glorious summer night enjoy it we certainly did."
Keith Richards commented: "Coming back to Hyde Park was like a full circle being drawn, and the band were in top form. We thought what could be more appropriate than having a great summer in London!"
From the second the Rolling Stones stepped out onto the stage each night, through to the dazzling firework and pyrotechnic display that heralded the end of the concert, fans old and new were treated to a non-stop, hit after hit performance, which took them through the Stones' huge back catalogue. Keith Richards wowed the crowds by weaving his charismatic guitar licks with Ronnie Wood's immense solos, Mick Jagger was on spectacular form, his boundless energy on stage matched by a number of stunning outfit changes, and Charlie Watts the unflappable heartbeat of the band, driving the band on through the set.
Former guitarist Mick Taylor - whose live debut with the Stones took place at the original 1969 Hyde Park concert - joined the band on stage to guest on the bluesy 'Midnight Rambler' and on closing track 'Satisfaction', whilst long-term live band members Lisa Fischer, Darryl Jones, Chuck Leavell, Bernard Fowler, Bobby Keys and Tim Ries all added their inimitable flair and finesse.
The Rolling Stones Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live is the perfect way for concert-goers to relive their favourite memories from the gigs, and for their fans to see the band back where they truly belong: live on the stage in their hometown.LP 1

LiveSundazed Music is proud to present a genuine psychedelic landmark: Live by Moby Grape, the first official collection of concert recordings by the legendary San Francisco band at its blazing late-Sixties peak. At that time, in rock's hippest city, there was no other band like the original Grape: Jerry Miller, Skip Spence, Bob Mosley, Peter Lewis and Don Stevenson. Their Columbia debut LP, Moby Grape, issued in June 1967, is still acclaimed as one of the greatest rock albums evera thrilling union of blues, soul, country, surf twang and day-glo garage rock, packed into original killer-pop songwriting. Even as extreme Columbia hype, devastating business hassles and Spence's tragic mental collapse threatened to blow up the band, the Grape continued to make immortal albums, including 1968's Wow and the magnificent Moby Grape '69.
But the records told only half of the tale. Moby Grape, in their prime, were also one of the Bay Area'sand America'sbest stage bands, like the Beatles and Rolling Stones in one, with a breathtaking triple-guitar attack and stunning vocal harmonies.
Live is the long-awaited proof. It features more than an hour of dynamite performances from soundboard and broadcast tapes, including tracks from the Avalon Ballroom in 1967 and the band's complete long-lost set at the Monterey Pop Festival, just a week after Moby Grape came out. There are live versions of the great rare Grape songs Rounder and Looper and five tracks from a famous Dutch radio show featuring the hard-charging '69 lineup of Miller, Mosley, Lewis and Stevenson.
And Live climaxes with the historic first-ever release of Spence's acid-guitar masterpiece Dark Magicnever recorded in the studio by the original band but presented here in an epic 17-minute performance at the Avalon, on New Year's Eve 1966. Moby Grape were the hottest band in town that night, with the whole rock & roll world ahead of them. And they sound like it. These four-decade-old recordings have been spectacularly mastered, in you-are-there fidelity, and this album comes with sumptuous packaging and rare photos, in true Sundazed style, plus liner notes by Rolling Stone writer and Moby Grape authority David Fricke. Live presents, at last, the untold part of Moby Grape's incredible story. It is San Francisco psychedelia at its zenith and the best historical rock release of the year.1. Smokey Rolls Down Thunder CanyonDuring spring of 2007, Devendra Banhart and his band took up residence and built a studio in a house in Topanga Canyon. Topanga is located in the Santa Monica mountains and is bound on one side by the Pacific Ocean. Neil Young once lived there while recording After the Gold Rush and the area has also been home to Emmylou Harris, Taj Mahal, Joni Mitchell, Mick Fleetwood and members of the Doors. Those ghosts inhabit the sound and vibe of these recording sessions.
Everyone wants to say that an artistsÆ new album is the best thing theyÆve ever done, but this is truly the case here. The whole ôfreak folkö tag is gone and in its place is a classic, gorgeous rock album. There are songs that are fragile and solipsistic, ones with a pronounced Tropicalia influence, and ones that are wildly electric and epic.

Johnny Winter And LiveMastered from the Original Columbia Records Tapes by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray
There are live albums, and then there are definitive live albums from the classic rock era which were events on their release. Johnny Winter And Live is one of those rare releases. Recorded during his short-lived and much revered Johnny Winter And era, this early supergroup with Rick Derringer (The McCoys, Edgar Winter Group, Steely Dan), Randy Jo Hobbs (The McCoys /Johnny Winter) and Bobby Caldwell (Captain Beyond) were known for their incredible live rock performances. Two of these phenomenal shows are captured on this historical rock album.
Bill Grahams Fillmore East in NYC and Pirates World in Florida were the settings for this live extravaganza, featuring stunning renditions of blues classics Good Morning Little School Girl and of course B.B. Kings Its My Own Fault. As a nod to his favorite rock and rollers, Johnny even found the energy for more foot stompin interpretations of tracks which became his own definitive versions like The Rolling Stones Jumpin Jack Flash and the legendary Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry. This album was so jam packed with excitement that rock radio at the time would play the entire album sides because of the ground breaking performances contained within the grooves.
Friday Music announces another installment of their Johnny Winter 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with his gold album Johnny Winter And Live. This first time audiophile vinyl release is mastered from the original Columbia Records tapes by Joe Reagoso (Johnny Winter/Deep Purple/Jeff Beck) at Friday Music Studios with Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI.

Live On Tour 1966The Standells' amazing string of punkish, tough-guy anthems, like "Dirty Water" and "Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White", define the legacy of mid-sixties garage rock like nothing else. With the success of these records came '66 tours with the Rolling Stones and Beach Boys. From all reports, the Standells proved a superb live act. But for decades, their on-stage reputation rested on an earlier, Pre-Tower label live album documenting the Standells in an unrecognizably clean-cut night club incarnation.
But there's a happy ending to this story. It turns out the Standells were in fact recorded at their peak, LIVE ON TOUR-1966! At last, here's the whole knock-out live act from the year the Standells stormed the charts. All the '66 hits are here including "Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White", "Why Pick On Me?" and of course, "Dirty Water" (in tremendous versions, all of them). Fan faves are also on board, like the fuzzed-out "Mr. Nobody" and stomping "Why Did You Hurt Me". Highlights also include high energy covers of "Midnight Hour" and "Please, Please, Please", to name just a few of these crowd-pleasers, showcasing the Standells' R&B roots updated with '66 sheen. Hearing the Standells' road-tested, extended take on "Gloria" is not to be missed, either!
Rescued from a professionally recorded concert at the University of Michigan, the Standells are captured in astonishingly clean sound that rivals their legendary studio recordings. This may just be the finest recorded example of vintage live '66 American garage rock. It's all here, the Standells in brilliant sound and in a superb package including rare photos and liner notes.1. The Rolling Stones From The Vault: The Marquee - Live in 1971 will finally be released.

Live In LondonLive In London is the first live recording and concert film from acclaimed artist Regina Spektor. Captured mainly at London's famed Hammersmith Apollo Theatre, Live In London features 22 remarkable performances that span Spektor's brilliant catalog of music, including three new songs that have only been performed live (Silly Eye-Color Generalizations, Bobbing For Apples and Love, You're A Whore). Live In London was recorded during Regina's UK tour in support of her latest album, Far, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200.
An artist praised for her remarkable originality, inspired storytelling and enthralling performances, Rolling Stone raves Spektor put on one of the most intensely joyful rock shows we've seen all year. The Philadelphia Inquirer adds, Everything she did was greeted with thunderous applause ... the audience could not get enough. Perhaps what was most remarkable about Regina's performance, aside from hearing Spektor's gorgeous vocals in person, was her ability to enrapture the crowd. Spektor's passion, vitality and sheer musical talent transformed the Electric Factory into a world of intimacy. Spirit Electricity: LiveSeeing the legendary Bad Brains live is an incredible experience, and over four separate live albums, the band has never really been able to capture that experience perfectly on record...but Spirit Electricity comes close. Anchored by the bands best reggae song, The Youth Are Getting Restless, which clocks in at nearly eight minutes, the disc captures both sides of Bad Brains -- the punk legends and the lifelong reggae fans...with both sides heavily steeped in Rasta philosophy. A combined reggae cover of The Beatles' Day Tripper and the Rolling Stones' She's a Rainbow is the other gem here. The cover, a live favorite, is yet another example of how distinctive the Bad Brains sound...even if they're playing someone else's music. Guitarist Dr. Know really shines on the reggae songs, using his jazz-fusion background and unique style of rhythm playing to beautify what would otherwise be fairly harsh songs. The punk side of things is pretty righteous as well. The version of their standard Banned in D.C. found here is arguably the best recording the band has ever made, and the one-two punch of Return to Heaven and Let Me Help that kicks off the disc is incredible. Next time the band has a reunion tour (seems to happen every few years), check 'em out. If you can't do that, this is the next best thing. reggae-reviews.com1. Return to Heaven

Live In San Francisco 1971Located 40-odd miles west of Detroit, Ann Arbor was a cauldron of social change in the '60s. Radical politics, courtesy of Students for a Democratic Society and John Sinclair's White Panther Party, mixed with a vibrant music scene which featured adventurous acts like Iggy Pop and the Psychedelic Stooges. In the midst of this fervor, local musician George Frayne IV felt the urge to form a country swing/boogie band, of all things. Cobbling together the name Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen from two old sci-fi film serials, Frayne and his compatriots began playing at The Canterbury House and other clubs around town beginning in 1967. After a few years, the band felt the need for a bigger platform prompting a move to San Francisco where they found kindred spirits and many opportunities for live work.
High profile opening gigs and a glowing piece in Rolling Stone led to an opportunity to perform live on KSAN, a pioneer of "Underground FM" radio. Reflecting on the evening, the Commander said, "We had a great time, and anyone could see there was something really going on here-and that was probably why that was the most honest of all our recordings." Recorded in one of KSAN's offices direct to quarter inch tape, it captures a brilliant performance from the band despite the Bayside bacchanal that was happening around them. And what a band! The Commander's pumping piano racing alongside Bill Kirchen's Joe-Maphis-on-steroids guitar led the rest of the band through a set of originals mixed with classic songs from their club days. Working from the original analog tapes, Sundazed has painstakingly mastered this historic performance.1. Lost in the Ozone

Live At The Checkerboard Lounge 1981White & Black Vinyl
On 22 November 1981, in the middle of their mammoth American tour, the Rolling Stones arrived in Chicago prior to playing 3 nights at the Rosemont Horizon. Long influenced by the Chicago blues, the band paid a visit to Muddy Waters' club the Checkerboard Lounge to see the legendary bluesman perform. It didn't take long before Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Ian Stewart were joining in on stage and later Buddy Guy and Lefty Dizz also played their part. It was a unique occasion that was fortunately captured on camera. Now, restored from the original footage and with sound mixed and mastered by Bob Clearmountain, this amazing blues night is being made available in an official release for the first time.LP

Live Through This (Awaiting Repress)
Ranked 460/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
This is the second studio album by alternative rock band Hole. The title is derived from a quote in the film 'Gone
With The Wind.' Considered a contemporary classic, this record was included in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of
'500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.' Features production by Sean Slade and Paul Q Kolderie with mixing by Scott Litt
and J Mascis.
This whole album is filled with scathing fury, mostly directed at the impossible situation that confronts women when they are asked to be both wild sources of pleasure and unblemished mother figures. Live Through This uses the same recipe of punk and metal wrapped around pop melodies that made Nirvana so captivating, but Hole uses the methodology in a more conventional manner. The metal ingredient tends to dominate, perhaps because it's the simplest to master, and too often the album resembles early Heart or late Joan Jett--particularly when Courtney Love opens up with her big, wailing voice. Love externalizes her anger, blaming all her problems on the rest of the world. Self-confrontation makes for far more interesting songs. -Geoffrey Himes1. Violet

Live at Fillmore East (Awaiting Repress)The Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East on Numbered Limited Edition 180g Vinyl 2LP from Mobile Fidelity
Telepathically Executed Double Album At Fillmore East Among Ten-Best Live Records Ever Made
Ranks #49 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time List: Includes Epic Takes of Whipping Post and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
Peerless Sonics: Mobile Fidelity Analog Reissue Provides Fifth-Row Seat to Historic March 1971 Concerts
Fillmore East is synonymous with some of the greatest concerts ever staged. Yet the venue belongs to one group: The Allman Brothers Band. This groundbreaking double album is why. As the collective's breakthrough, it broadcasts to the world wowing improvisational flights and seamless musical fusion the likes of which no one had ever heard. In communion with the crowd, the band establishes an interactive blueprint for all shows that followed, while its high-wire displays of powerhouse soloing and time-stretching arrangements remain the stuff of hall-of-fame legend.
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed on dead-quiet vinyl RTI, Mobile Fidelity's 180g 2LP of At Fillmore East joins the unparalleled reissue imprint's other Allman titles in presenting the inimitable ensemble's music in the most lifelike, uncompromising fidelity possible. Myriad versions of the 1971 set exist, yet none possesses the audiophile sensibilities found here - sonic traits that whisk the listener to the midst of the Fillmore East for four gigs performed on March 12 and 13, 1971, plunking them down in a fifth-row seat surrounded by fervent fans and a smoke-filled atmosphere. Every slippery bottleneck note, every aching vocal moan, every soulful purr from the organ, every gritty interlocking riff comes across with unfettered clarity and realism.
While the record features multiple works the band never laid down in a studio, At Fillmore East is a meticulously conceived affair. The Allmans prepped rough sketches and layouts of the tunes, carving out spaces for each member's solos, and leaving the direction of such entirely up to the individual. As a result, the effort - anchored by iconic producer Tom Dowd's stellar production - presents a jazz-drifting rock band benefiting from both a sense of assured direction as well as opportunistic freedom.
Indeed, At Fillmore East is the rare sound of a group letting it all go, fearlessly maneuvering through bluesy shuffles, exquisite laments, graceful instrumental passages, and frenetic swamp-laden boogies. Achieved via a combination of virtuosic skill, visionary ambition, and natural chemistry, the six-piece burns white-hot with intensity and persuades via a padlock-tight rhythm section on which Duane's searing slide playing and Gregg's bottom-of-the-stomach vocals glide, each aural utterance coaxing on their respective mates to strive for new heights.

Live at Fillmore East (Awaiting Repress)Ranked 49/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Considered by many to be one of the greatest live albums of all time, this classic album by the Allman Brothers, recorded at the pinnacle of their success, was a huge hit for the band. In 1971, the Allman Brothers were already one of the most popular groups in America, but by the time this album hit the streets their brand of Southern rock had become a national obsession. Live At Fillmore East was also the band's last with guitar hero Duane Allman who was killed in a motorcycle accident later that year.Side One:

Roxy - Tonight's the Night LiveProduced By Young And The Late David Briggs
Mixed By John Nowland With Updated Post-Production And Mastering By John Hanlon - Along With Chris Bellman - At Bernie Grundman Mastering Using The Original Analog Master Tape Source
One of the most sought-after recordings from his vast archives, Roxy - Tonight's The Night Live. This was the first public performance of many of the songs that would make up Young's seminal album Tonight's The Night, which would not be released until June 1975. The album's final track Walk On would not appear until the release of On The Beach, in July 1974.
Young would be the first artist to christen the stage at what would become one of the world's great clubs, The Roxy Theater on the riotous Sunset Strip, right next door to the already infamous Rainbow Bar & Grille. The shows took place on September 20-22, 1973.
Produced by Young and the late David Briggs, these resultant recordings were mixed by John Nowland with updated post-production and mastering by John Hanlon - along with Chris Bellman - at Bernie Grundman Mastering using the original analog master tape source. Close your eyes and you'll be right there in that dark, smoky, 500 capacity room in West, L.A. on a hot summer night in 1973.
Tonight's The Night would go on to be named one of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time, and universally praised for its dark honesty and unapologetic raw delivery. The very same can be said for Roxy - Tonight's The Night Live.LP 1
