Presenting The Fabulous RonettesOriginally released in time for 1964's Christmas season, the Ronettes' one and only Philles LP is considered by many to be the crown jewel of the label's catalog, representing the ultimate expression of Phil Spector's girl-group ideal.
Fronted by the impossibly charismatic Veronica Bennett, aka Ronnie Spector, the Ronettes combined girlish innocence and playful sexiness in a manner that struck a responsive chord with listeners in the '60s, and continues to do so five decades later. With Phil's surging Wall of Sound arrangements meeting their match in the kittenish vocals of Ronnie and her sister Estelle Bennett and cousin Nedra Talley, it's not hard to understand why the Ronettes effortlessly held their own with the British Invasion acts that otherwise dominated the pop scene in 1964.
Although the Ronettes are principally known as a singles act, Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes featuring Veronica is a remarkably consistent and cohesive set that collects all of the trio's early hits, including such enduring pop masterpieces as Be My Baby, Baby (I Love You), Walking In The Rain, Do I Love You?, (The Best Part Of) Breaking Up, You Baby and the Ronettes' original version of Chapel of Love (which predates the Dixie Cups' hit version). It's hard to imagine a more consistent collection of perfect pop bliss, or a more excellent expression of girl group greatness!1. Walking In The Rain

Pretty In BlackFirst 1.000 copies are pressed on pink / black marbled vinyl!
The second full-length album of Danish Fifties/Psych Pop duo The Raveonettes was released in 2005. On Pretty In Black, Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo abandoned the strict recording rules the band laid upon themselves on their preceding efforts (including limiting the amount of different chords in one song, keeping an entire album in one tuning - which was in fact B Flat Major for The Chain Gang Of Love) and keeping song running times under three minutes. Instead, the group further expand on their signature sound of Fifties inspired Rockabilly Noise Pop with the eerie feel of a thriller movie soundtrack.
Special appearances on this album are made by Maureen Tucker of Velvet Underground on drums, Martin Rev on drum machine and Ronnie Spector, also known as Veronica Bennett of the fabulous Ronettes on backup vocals.1. The Heavens

Rainbow Bridge (Soundtrack)
Remastered By Bernie Grundman From The Original Analog Masters
Rainbow Bridge is being reissued on vinyl, reintroduced with original album art and track orders and remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analog masters.
Rainbow Bridge was compiled and mixed by Eddie Kramer and Mitch Mitchell in 1971, with the help of Electric Lady Studios engineer John Jansen. Most of the tracks were recorded in 1969 and 1970, during the same sessions that spawned The Cry Of Love. Rainbow Bridge is often misconstrued as being an entirely live album, being that the film of the same name features excerpts of a live Jimi Hendrix performance in Maui. However, Hendrix had no role in the creation of the rambling, unfocused 1971 film which was directed by Chuck Wein. The film was not a Hendrix project in any way but instead an independent vision of his manager Michael Jeffery. After Hendrix's death in September 1970, Jeffery scrapped Hendrix's original vision of a double studio album titled First Rays Of The New Rising Sun and called for Kramer, Mitchell and Jansen to compile two posthumous albums-including one that would that would serve as a soundtrack for the Rainbow Bridge film.
Mitchell, Kramer and Jansen drew upon Hendrix's rich trove of studio recordings that the guitarist had been developing at Electric Lady Studios. Songs such as ''Dolly Dagger'' and ''Room Full Of Mirrors'' were bright examples of Hendrix's new creative direction. Other standouts on the album included a studio rendition of ''Star Spangled Banner'' as well as the majestic ''Hey Baby (New Rising Sun).'' The one live track on the album, an extraordinary rendition of Hendrix's original blues composition ''Hear My Train A Comin''' is taken from a performance at Berkeley Community Theatre in May of 1970, and not in the film at all. Buddy Miles and Noel Redding both appear on one track each, and the Ronettes provide backing vocals on ''Earth Blues.''

Lobby StarKitty has a playfulness and humour in her lyrics that I envy very much, and I know it won't be long until the rest of the world discovers many other things to love about her too. Finn Andrews (The Veils) // Lobby Star is Kitty Finer's debut EP, recorded at Bark studio, London and engineered/co-produced by Brian O'Shaughnessy (Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine). Guest musicians on the EP include Kitty's father Jem Finer alongside his own band mates Andrew Ranken and Darryl Hunt of The Pogues, Debsey Wykes (Dolly Mixture, Coming Up Roses and St Etienne) Finn Andrews (The Veils) and brass provided by Kitty's old school friends The JJ Horns. BabyFreedom often begins from terror, and White Hinterland's third album, Baby, addresses the fear
that comes along with breaking out of established rituals, or leaving a comfortable place, and
striking out into the unknown. Four years after her profile-raising release, Kairos(2010), Casey
Dienel aka White Hinterland has taken the gloves off and knuckled down to produce a deep,
dark, heady mix of songs. After two and a half years of writing and recording material in
Montreal and Portland, OR, Dienel moved back in to her family home in Scituate, MA. There
she forged a new aesthetic, spending five months building her own studio, The Glades, in her
parents' basement - the same space where she practiced piano and vocal lessons as a child.
Determined to helm her new album, Dienel spent months studying production, poring over
YouTube tutorials about Protools, mic'ing techniques and other minutiae.
Armed with this self-taught skill and her new studio, Dienel set forth to subvert the existing
power structure of male producer as svengali and female artist as figurehead (see: Billy
Corgan/Courtney Love, Timbaland/Aaliyah, Phil Spector/The Ronettes). She created her own,
new path on Baby, which showcases her as a singer/songwriter/producer who has only become
bolder and more resolute over the past three-plus years. Calling in her friends as pinch hitters,
Dienel worked acclaimed musicians Sean Carey (Bon Iver, S. Carey), Neal Morgan (Joanna
Newsom, Bill Callahan), and Cole Kamen-Green (BeyoncÉ).
On her first four records, Dienel projected her fears and fantasies onto imaginary characters,
role play, and lush atmospherics. If Kairos was a work of atmosphere, then Baby sits at the
opposite end of that spectrum. Baby is about song craft. It is forceful, rooted in the physicality
of the voice, percussion and piano, and it is about getting straight to the point. Where her earlier
work occasionally showcased a strong Joni Mitchell influence, on new songs like "David" she
finds herself in Fiona Apple territory. Her lifelong love of R&B and gospel also comes to the fore,
these resonant styles complement and contrast the sharp dynamic shifts, booming drums, and
blasts of brass. On Metronome, Baby's centerpiece and most assertive track, she declares, All
day long I'm a boss. She's not asking for someone to serve as a steadying influence, but instead
requiring that it's necessary to keep up with her. It is the past three years of her life distilled into
song: joy, heartbreak, frustration, longing, disappointment, anger, and loss accumulated, poured
out and reborn in this new, unflinching release.1. Wait Until Dark

A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector (Out Of Stock)Ranked 142/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
In 1963, visionary producer Phil Spector, then at the peak of his creativity and cultural influence, created one of the first and still one of the greatest rock n roll Christmas albums. Using the artist roster of his Philles label the Ronettes, the Crystals, Darlene Love and Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeansand the legendary studio musicians of the Wrecking Crew, Spector applied his fabled Wall of Sound to a set of Christmas pop standards and holiday-themed originals.
The resulting album brilliantly merges the holiday spirit with the singular sonic uplift of the Spector sound. Highlights include the Ronettes bubbly reworkings of Sleigh Ride, Frosty the Snowman and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, the Crystals upbeat renditions of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Darlene Loves soulful readings of Winter Wonderland, White Christmas and the Ellie Greenwich/Jeff Barry/Phil Spector composition Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). A Christmas Gift for You concludes with a rare on-mike appearance by Spector himself, delivering a spoken holiday message to listeners.
A Christmas Gift for You originally had the misfortune of being released on November 22, 1963, the same day as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and was not a major commercial success. In the years since, however, it has been embraced as a beloved pop-culture touchstone, with many of its tracks becoming holiday airplay favorites. Longtime Spector fan Brian Wilson has named it as his all-time favorite LP. The albums influence has also been reflected in cover versions by contemporary artists. Bruce Springsteen based his interpretation of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town on the Crystals Spectorized version, while U2 closely followed Darlene Loves original when covering Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).1.
